The pizza used to be so much better years ago. In recent years, they started to add a second layer of cheese over top of the sauce swirl, that is already on top of cheese. As a result. The tangy sauce is now completely lost in the cheese. They used to taste like Manco and Manco with sauce and cheese in each bite. Ok my wife and I have had a battle over boardwalk pizza. Last year Mack was not the winner but this year it was the top. Now it doesn't come close to the best pizza like john's in NY but out of the boardwalk slices they did have the best. One thing I do not like. Meh, I've had better. I hear that Mack's is the offshoot of the Mack and Manco's of yesteryear. And if that's true then it seems I prefer the Manco side of things. The crust is really good but there's not enough sauce and the sauce on there isn't overly flavorful. I'm used to the sauce/cheese ratio of Manco's and this disappointed. First time to Wildwood Boardwalk and this pizza came up as best on the boardwalk so we had to try it. Definitely didn't disappoint, took me right back to my NYC days...perfect crust, fold in half to eat and the cheese and toppings were perfect. One of the best pizza places in Wildwood. It is always a must stop when visiting. The pizza has just the right amount of sauce, toppings and grease that is expected with boardwalk pizza. The staff is friendly and service is quick. Make sure you bring cash as that is all that is accepted, if you forget, there are ATM's located in the businesses near the shop. read more

Really awful pizza, not close to NYC style. I gave it 3 stars based on its location. In Wildwood, it's 3 stars. In NYC, it's one star $1 pizza. Cheap cheese creates oil and a few hours layer, I felt the results of this pizza. Paying cash before receiving any product made the evening annoying as I had 8 people at the table, and every time someone wanted a refill on their too small soda, we had to pay the waitress before she went and got the refill. Seriously, I made about eight separate transactions for that one meal. Waitress was nice, although after getting an extra slice, and paying again, she forgot about it and made us wait an extra 10 minutes until we realized the transaction was forgotten. No apology, just passed it off as normal and made believe she didn't create the problem. Next time, I'll try Sals. read more

We tried almost all the popular pizza places in wildwood over the summer. This place and specifically this location is the best. Crazy as it seems I way prefer the slices over the full pie. Used to be my absolute favorite pizza but the last two times we have ordered i have been extremely disappointed. The pizza is limp, greasy, and undercooked. The cheese is hard and not even melted. Mancos Pizza in Ocean City is now my absolute favorite. read more

Ordered 2 pizzas and told 45-60 min. 1 pie came after about a half hour and the driver said he forgot the other one and would go back for it. After an hour we called and were told the pie was out for delivery. Our family hadn't eaten together and no longer wanted to wait in so I told them to forget it. We went out and they called a half hour later saying they were coming for the money. We were out and as I told them we'd drop the money off and but how horribly inconvenient this experience was, I mean why not take the money and come back in 10 min with the 2nd pizza, she spoke over me giving me the address. Not one apology. Horrible customer service for mediocre pizza. With a million pizza places to choose from in wildwood, never again will we choose Mack's Update.... we went way down the boardwalk out of our way to pay for our pizza, we did not receive an apology, any acknowledgement of the inconvenience they caused, a thank you for returning, the woman explained how this was not her fault, and we were told we should have paid the drive for the pizza... we would have but he said he'd be back in 10 minutes with the 2nd pie and to collect the money... and when I asked for a cup so I could get some water from a friend, I was told I could buy a bottle of water. Worst customer service ever!!! I hope the owner reads my review and addresses the woman manager, but the driver and counter service was wonderful! read more

My family just loves MACKS! LOVE IT!! We head to macks as soon as we get down the shore. It's cash only which stinks. They will take your order, give you your sodas and then tell you its cash only. I think they have a mac machine in there tho. We've been going so long so we know it's cash only. They are pretty expensive for a pie but so is everywhere. We love all their pizza. You name it we love it. Regular, white, pepperoni, sausage, broccoli etc. All so good. Will be back in two weeks. read more

Stopped in Wildwood on way to Cape May just to get Mack's pizza slices. The woman at the counter took my money and provided change then immediately picked up the slices with her hands. As I waited to get her attention, I watched her do the same thing with another customer. I told her we were not comfortable with her handling both money and our food...expecting she would realize her mistake and get us fresh slices...instead she asked if we wanted our money back. Handling money and food is not acceptable under normal circumstances but during a pandemic it is outright irresponsible and dangerous. read more
