Much to my surprise they were at my house 2 days later installing my new roof on the house. They stripped two layers of shingle, replaced several bad decking boards I had. They do 6ft of ice and water shield. Code only requires 3ft. They made sure everything on the roof was wrapped up, secure and water tight. Then they started putting down the shingles. I mean these guys work like a well oiled machine together. This company does not subcontract out the work. The employees work for J & J. My roof on house and garage looks great, they did a good job of cleaning up. I'm super happy with this company and highly recommend them. They were hired for all air vents and a dryer cleanout on a 2,000 sq. ft. house, and particularly a bad smell coming in the laundry room. On the day of the cleaning Chris and Lee arrived during the agreed upon time window. I showed Lee around the house to the various vents and asked questions about the places I couldn't fully clear a path to the vent. The house's vents hadn't been cleaned during the time I've owned the place so it needed significant work. The same applied for the dryer. The cleaning took roughly 3 hours. I think they did a good job and made sure to take care of cleaning any messes their work caused. The one exception was the dryer blow-out which was left under the outdoor vent. My single gripe was that the final price ended up $100 over the original quote without discussion. However, it was clear that they had a lot of work to do that couldn't have been known without taking a look at things.

During the quote, I showed the salesperson, Lawrence, two sinking areas in my front sidewalk. He said they would raise those areas at no additional charge. When the crew arrived, I explained that sprinkler lines ran along both sides of the sidewalk and asked whether there was any risk of damaging them. They assured me there was not. They then proceeded to cut sprinkler lines at both locations. I left a voicemail at their main office asking how this issue would be resolved. Lawrence returned my call and said Detroit Concrete Leveling was not responsible for the damage based on terms noted on the back of the quote. The work provided at "no additional charge" ended up costing me $499 for sprinkler system repairs. I strongly recommend you do NOT hire Detroit Concrete Leveling. They do not take responsibility for damaging customers' property. If ownership disclaims responsibility, customers should not expect the work crews to show adequate care for their property. If you still choose to hire Detroit Concrete Leveling, I recommend budgeting extra money beyond the quoted price. You may need it to repair damage cause by their careless or indifferent work. Later that afternoon, I received a return call from Lawrence, the salesperson. He offered either to attempt the repairs himself or that I hire a sprinkler company do so. When I asked whether he had any sprinkler repair experience, he confirmed that he did not.
