Corey from Home Inspection Professionals was wonderful to work with! My husband and I are 1st time home buyers in the SCS area. Our Realtor highly recommended Corey or Kevin from HIP and I am SO GLAD she did. He arrived super early to our inspection. He spent over 3 hours there giving us the most detailed and informative inspection we could of ever asked for. The home had the attic closed off from in the house and outside & the sellers made it impossible to get inside there. Corey took this personal and was quite determined to find a way to get up there. After about 40-45 minutes of taking apart the outside boards and later having to re-build them, he found a way. We found a long list of issues in the house and being first time home buyers, we were not prepared to spend a ton of money before moving into a new home. There was a crack in the heat exchange of the furnace along with some other issues and we would need to completely replace the furnace before moving in...The roof & boards needed to completely be replaced like 5 years ago. There was horrendous water damage in the basement, We found mold in the ceiling. The list goes on and on. Corey spent so much time there, he acted as if this was HIS OWN home purchase. He saved us thousands and thousands of dollars as we ended up walking away because the listing agent/sellers WERE NOT WILLING to work with us. SO THANKFUL to Corey! Moving on.... about a month and a half later, we finally found our home! Corey just completed another inspection for us about 2 weeks ago and now we are waiting for our clear to close after a PERFECT INSPECTION & APPRAISAL. This new home is solid. The bones are great. I purchase homes and bring them up to and past codes. I pride myself in workmanship and quality materials. The problem with inspection companies that many don't respect the property there inspecting. In this case my home had a sewer inspection. All was ok as the sewer lines were inspected about 8 months before. This company took off the clean out and left debris in that area and from there debris and leaves through out the kitchen, dinning room, the carpeted stairs and living room, 2nd floor bath to include the forth floor where they had no reason to go that far as the sewer clean outs were in the kitchen and basement. I am so blessed to have found this place! Wonderful customer service when I called. & then on the day of the home inspection they were on time! Actually they were there before the date of time. I had a licensed home inspector who missed several fairly significant issues with my house I recently purchased. I purchased the home a few weeks ago, it's a 1950 era home, so I was prepared for the little cracks, dings and failure of equipment if that was to come up. The problem is that there are things that I think should have been caught as part of the inspection that were not (or were totally blown off by the inspector) that are starting to add up. My family and I cannot occupy the home since the sub-floor is rotted, mold in crawlspace, and significant water damage. The inspection should have caught these items. I have a physical disability from having multiple sclerosis (MS) which has resulted with me being confined in a scooter. I often need to trust other people in order to accomplish my goals/needs. For this case I needed to trust the disclosure that was provided to me and the home inspection company and their report. Majority of my concerns have occurred in areas where I physically can't go which has been in the attic and crawl space. The company is avoiding my communications, hopefully this wont happen to other people. read more

I hired Home Inspection Professionals on the recommendation of a realtor that I've known for over 10 years. It was great advice. Corey did the inspection, Kyle scoped the drain. I've seen plenty of houses. I do home improvement. I've done home inspections for friends that couldn't afford a pro, so I have a pretty good clue as to what to look for and at. Corey didn't miss a detail, on top of which he was polite, professional and happy to point out every detail of his findings. Kyle walked me through his entire process and throughly explained the evidence his video revealed. BEWARE!!! Worst home inspection ever! Kevin Stripling, owner, was the inspector and cannot be trusted in my opinion. He walked me through the property and verbally stated there were no issues with regards to water in the basement (I had two friends with me who also heard his statements), yet his report was in complete contradiction to his statements. Kevin also stated the appliances were great, yet his report stated all three were at their maturity and recommend replacing - WHAT?? The appliances are only three years old! When I contested his report Kevin put in writing that major kitchen appliances have a lifespan of 5-8 years. WHAT? This is an outright falsehood! I requested a refund due to a report that cannot be trusted but he refused. Kevin spent more time talking about himself and covering his incompetence than providing a great service. read more

I hired this home professional company to do an inspection on my condo in Michigan. The company is very good in response time and setting up appointments. The inspector, Paul Shinsky, came to inspect and did a fairly detailed job but failed to see and report that the a major leak in the kitchen sink, the shower upstairs has a leaky shower pan. the sump pump does not work and the humidifier is leaking water into the furnace was disturbing. As a person who has purchased several properties, I am surprised that he missed many key systems that I am now paying for replacing/repairing. I wish I had taken the time to go over these items myself. read more

Kevin is a nice enough guy however he failed to ascertain that the furnace in the home he was inspecting had two cracks in the heat exchanger which can be very dangerous. To his credit, he did indicate to me that the furnace was past its average life expectancy however he also told me it was in working condition on the inspection which it was not. I ended up having to purchase a new furnace within the first month of buying the home which I did not expect or have the money for so I am upset. I knew that I would need to get a new furnace in a year or two since it was older but honestly I wouldn't have purchased the home had I known that I would have to make such a large investment right away either. I've also come to the conclusion that it is not difficult to inspect the heat exchanger either, the furnace company I called out to check it out was able to show me the cracks within five minutes with their camera. Considering that the heat exchanger is one of the most integral parts to a furnace I feel that this should have been inspected otherwise what is the point of hiring an Inspector? To make matters worse, Kevin has not returned my call to discuss the matter. Its important to call your customers back to discuss the topic if they're not satisfied with the services you rendered. read more

We had Kevin come out and inspect our first home before buying it in Feb of 2015. He spent a long time explaining many aspects of the home to us since we were nervous as first-time home buyers. He taught us how to water softener system works and the septic tank/field. Since we got 6 inches of snow during the inspection he couldn't look at our septic tank or well head but he did still climb up on a ladder to inspect the roof to the best of his abilities. He told us the attic needed to be worked on due to bat dropping and lo and behold we had bats our first night! He even recommended a company for the attic work (which we used) and they were just as fantastic as he was. We now call him every time we need a recommendation for work done on the house. He also was willing to come out to Oxford from St. Clair Shores during the worst snow storm of the year. He is just fantastic and we recommend him to everyone! The ONLY downside was that it was very difficult to schedule the inspection with him within 7 days of our PA being accepted since he is a busy guy. We ended up just having to miss work so we could still use him. read more
