I have been to the place twice, first off they are one of the few coffee places that have a cold brew lemonade (sounds weird) but great! Other than Salty donut they are the only one I know that has this. I have to say it is pretty good, the roast and aroma of the coffee has the slight bitterness but sweet and refreshing from the lemonade. Their açaí bowl is a decent portion for the price, and had coconut shavings, granola, strawberries and blueberries. Açaí bowls get pretty pricey but for 12 bucks it isn't too bad. Best try their empanadas, got their ham and cheese, mushroom and cheese, and spinach and cheese, very good and flakey texture. All around the place has a lot to offer on their menu. read more

My favorite coffee spot was directly across from my building in Union Square- I hemorrhaged money by buying a $7 coffee there every morning. This is the only place IN MIAMI (in unassuming suburban Dandybear land... no less) that I have found that has espresso that is AS GOOD AS the bougie artisanal spots that you find in the Bay Area. Macondo! Finally in my neck of the woods. I learned of this amazing coffee place when I worked in Doral 10 years ago and when I found out they were opening in Kendall I was very excited. The coffee here is amazing. It is grown in my beautiful country of Colombia. The specific region it's grown in is Antioquia (my region as well). The coffee is well balanced and their food selection is delicious. They are now offering coffee tastings on Sundays and it was great to learn about coffee and it's complexity. The owners are just so delightful to interact with and their baristas are knowledgeable, friendly and courteous. If you love coffee, come to Macondo for a full "10" experience. read more

TL; DR: Amazing food, great coffee, though not served very hot, fantastic service, but possibly not ideal for work/study if noise is a concern. -- I was looking for a place in the area for breakfast, coffee, and to get some work done for several hours. I chose Macondo and I'm so glad I did. Food: It took me awhile to order because they had so many tasty sounding food options. I almost ordered a basic egg and cheese croissant but the cashier recommended Fabio's Favorite, so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It was very fresh and delicious. If I were to order it again, I would request extra tomato (only one sliced cherry tomato) and pesto but aside from that, it was perfection. I added some habanero sauce they had on the table and it's definitely something I will be craving in the future. Coffee: The Flat White flavor was great. As some have mentioned, it was not very hot but a good temperature if you were to drink it within a few minutes. If super hot coffee is important to you, maybe just ask them if they're able to accommodate that. Service: As I was standing back and deciding what to order, I didn't feel rushed. Once I was ready to order, the cashier was very kind and made the excellent recommendations mentioned above. I swapped tables for a bit more space to work and someone came over to wipe down the quickly. Everyone seemed pleasant and with smiles as they engaged with customers. It felt very inviting, which isn't always the case in Miami. Ambiance: I will say that it may not be ideal for getting work done. It's on the busier side and I could hear the music and chatter through my AirPods while in noise cancellation mode. If I were to come back to work, I'd bring better noise cancellation headphones. There was also a variety of different seating options--indoor, outdoor, tables, high tops, and a small couch nook. Despite the coffee temperature and noise level that would only be of concern for work/study purposes, Mocando deserves 5 stars because the food, coffee, and service are top notch. My latte was the color white (instead of green) and all i tasted was the oat milk. I stirred my drink for a while hoping that it would change but it didn't.
