So disappointed. My sister had given a coupon to my brother in law thinking she wouldn't see something she would want to purchase, but she did. He was at a different department at the time so we asked the attendant to hold our earrings for us while we retrieved the coupon from him. The initial lady was super nice. By the time we got back TAMARA had put our belonging back and kept exclaiming the store was closed. I proceeded to look at my phone obviously to check the time so she said "we close in 8" minutes. She could've waited until it was actually closed. She than got lazy and sent us to be checked out by the shoe department who as all other departments are trying to get ready to close. I get it. Merry me first start out by saying I am in the customer service industry as well I was promptly read it whenever I walked in the door by Dennis. His location I believe is upstairs and it looked impeccable. He help me find exactly what I was looking for and was super friendly. I came in around closing time which I felt bad about but he it did not seem to faze him. I really appreciate good service in stores and restaurants and he went above and beyond! Dropped in to make an online order return. Went to the shoe department and the staff took care of it quickly. We didn't go there to shop it was more a return trip and I must say we spent more time walking to the department then what it took them to complete the transaction. There is a reason I buy stuff online. I recently ordered 10 Fiestaware place settings on the internet on Macy's website and they came in within a few days. So cool, right? Well.. when I picked up one of the boxes, I heard a rendition of "Jingle Bells" no one who has ordered dinnerware wants to hear. Upon inspection, I only had 2 place settings in a popular color that needed to be replaced - specifically both of the cereal bowls in the sets and then one of the tea cups. So I should've called before in and that's my bad, I admit that- but I knew that Macy's had Fiestaware as kind of a perpetually in-stock item, so I didn't think to check. Anyway... So the place was bustling with people getting in their Christmas shopping. I thought I could just be in and out with my exchange. The woman at the counter informs me that THEY do not sell the 5 piece set, so she didn't know what to tell me. I asked if there was any way they could exhange the individual pieces - and they had the bowls... but not the teacups. She didn't seem to want to go look for pieces until I asked to speak to a manager- and she was out, coming back with two bowls- no teacup. She tells me to step to the side as a manager would be on her way- and she had a line of other people (there were 3 cashiers and about 7 people in line). So I'm waiting, and there's no manager. After about 15 minutes, I just call over to her and tell her that I don't mind just returning the teacupless set and getting it at Kohl's where I had seen it earlier. Only then does she call Highland Mall's Macy's. It took Highland Mall's Macy's 3 phone calls to find the product. All the while, I'm standing to the side. Finally a manager swings by and the cashier tells the manager that everything's okay because she's seeing if Highland Mall can find their set. I just want to get out of the mall at this point and Highland Mall finally calls back saying they've reserved me their last 5 piece set and to come and pick it up. While my experience with Highland Mall was FAR more pleasant than Barton Creek- I will avoid this location at all costs because I asked twice for a manager and I never actually had the attention of the manager- and when I asked for a refund, that request wasn't granted. At the far end of the day and after a trip to another Macy's, I finally had non-broken Fiestaware- but even after the holidays are over I probably won't be back to this Macys. The only good thing about Macy's is the Shoe and Home Departments. In regards to clothing, it is not too good. Most of the items, including designer are poorly made or too faddish. The absolute worst customer service happened at store #048 in Austin, Tx. I have yet to experience I have had the misfortune of experiencing, the staff is led by inept and completely customer service devoid managers, and it shows throughout the building, I was greeted by a new associate who was trying his hardest to attend to my needs, while the management crowded behind glass "customer service cubicles" like a gaggle of hens, transgressing the mundane and disassociated meaning of their own existence. I wasted 3 hours of my life trying to purchase items at the store, while management made it entirely to hard to be a customer. I had a deal made for merchandise that they did not honor and ridiculed, saying that because I went through a third part finance system that they could not price match me, spoiler alert the same items are on sale for hundreds cheaper at Best Buy... go there better prices less hassle by people who seem like taking care of customers isn't their one and only actual job. After this 3 hour debacle they price stacked me back to 200.00+ dollars before tax and didn't even offer free delivery, because I missed the cut off, while they were on their phones laughing and joking with the do nothing crew! Avoid this place like the plague, I'm still waiting on their actual upper management to rectify this, snd hopefully walk their business... and to tell Mike the "manager" how to lead by example. read more

I just did a wedding registry at Macy's and Angela was wonderful! She was so helpful and actually walked through the departments with us giving us tips on which products were better, which got returned a lot and which got great customer reviews. We never felt rushed or pressured and actually learned a lot about knives and pots and pans. If there was something we were looking for that we couldn't find, she looked it up online and gave us the info so we could still include it on the registry. Registering can be stressful but she had us laughing and kept checking to see if we were doing okay and bringing us water. I would highly recommend a wedding registry at Macy's. Especially if you can get Angie to help you. read more

While I'm not a card holder, my MIL is a huge fan, so visit simply because she's persistent. Not so bad I might say. Today I was very surprised by the brands I saw: Michael Kors? Nine West clothing? I had no idea they made clothes, but was impressed MK was in the house. The selection is wide and expansive. If you aren't sure what kind of formal dress you want, I saw over 60 styles I guess. Man, when I needed these, wish I had that kind of selection. The staff we've encountered have been friendly and helpful. We had an issue with a return, MIL can't not shop here, but the woman who helped was so patient and took her time to figure it out. Then it's the prices you can find. WOW! The hubs is a fan of Tommy Bahama. It's great stuff, so soft and comfy, but pricey! We ended up browsing around there, and found shorts and a shirt. Everything was on sale. The shorts, his exact size, seriously lucky here... were 80% off. Nothing wrong with them, just 'last seasons' maybe? Well, if you're a bargain shopper like me, this place has the deals. The cosmetic section, shoe section and second floor are so well organized and practical. However, women's clothing section on the first floor does not make sense and the configuration when it comes to brands and aisles are all out of sorts and does not provide a positive shopping experience. I go to the counter.. the lady said I couldn't use it on the items. She had already rung up my items so I told her I really wanted to use the coupon so I would go find another item so I could use it. She tells me, "OK well lets finish this transaction first." I told her I didn't want to do that as I wanted to buy my whole purchase at once because I didn't want to pay tax twice. She then explains that Im wrong and says some math crap that I didn't care or need to here. I AM THE CUSTOMER! Why is she arguing with me about doing my transaction all at once!!? Anyway, I stood my ground and told her I was going to look for another item so I could purchase all at once. I went to go look and couldn't find anything I needed and remembered I had to be somewhere. On my way back to the counter to purchase the items I looked at the coupon closely that said I could use it on select clearance items. I thought Id give it a try and ask her if I could use it since that's what the coupon said and earlier she didn't even look at my coupon. When I turn the counter to check out she sees I have my coupon out and goes nuts. I seriously just said these words, "I was wondering if my coupon.." before I can finish my sentence she stops me, puts both her hands on her head pulls her hair and says, "UGH You can not use the coupon! I told you that earlier. Don't you think if you could use it I would add it to your purchase. YOU HAVE LAST ACT that means coupons can not be used! What do you not understand?" MIND you... midway thru her sentence she raises her tone and starts speaking IN SPANISH! I am a Hispanic lady who knows Spanish... BUT WHY IS YOUR EMPLOYEE speaking to me in Spanish if I addresses her in English. She doesn't know if I speak it... She was talking to me like a was child. She was VERY unprofessional pulling her hair puffing and speaking to me in this manner! I did nothing. She could've told me kindly, "No ma'am Im sorry the coupon cant be used." AND I would've understood! No problems there. I was just confused by the words on the coupon that told me I could use it! I then told her that I was a customer and she had no right speaking to me like that.. as I was talking she interrupts me AGAIN and says "Do you want it or not? Do you want it or not?" Pointing to my items. She was trying to hush me! She wasn't apologetic. She was a ghetto employee who does not care how she represents the COMPANY MACYS. I am appalled I was treated this way. I asked for a manager. When I did, she turned to her neighbor employee and said, "Call AMY." I didn't appreciate that. She wanted this so called "Amy" girl to come... for all I know this is a employee friend? No not ok. I told her, no.. I want a manager who is not AMY. After a few minutes a man named David came. This review is for the furniture department only. My husband and I purchased our second couch from Macy's last week and for the second time, had wonderful service! The first time was about 5 years ago, we had a woman named Debbie who was really great and even called to follow up about a week after we had our delivery. This time we got another super sweet sales rep named Shahla who was really very patient with us, as we have moved into a condo that had a smaller living room than our last (why we needed a new couch). It's not even a week since we purchased the new couch and I'm sitting on it as I'm writing this review. We absolutely love it and highly recommend this department! read more

I generally like macys but I hate this location. The buyers and managers for this location are some of the worst I've ever seen and I travel all over the country. Macys is usually associated with tasteful clothes and a well organized store. Over the last couple of years, I've watched the collections in this store degrade to the point that I rarely go in anymore. Specifically, I'm thinking about the women's section. I'm not a small person, but I'm not huge either. I generally dress in the smaller sizes of the plus section. My go-to brands are Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. Over the last year, this macys has reduced their plus sizes to their house brands only and decreased the size of the section by about 2/3rds. Methinks the store buyers and management think the entire world is chunky if they are in size 6s. I personally do not like the house brands because they are low quality and also think plus sized clothes always need ruffles are large prints(shudder). When I was in there today, the women's section was useless as always and now sandwiched between christmas sales, jackets, and a increasingly large petites section. I thought this was pretty insane to have the holiday sales merchandise tucked away in an obscure corner of the store on the second floor instead of on the main level where everyone is looking for it. In short, I have no use for this macys location. I will spend my money elsewhere since they obviously don't care that I'm willing to drop a hundred bucks per pair of slacks. Five years ago,I would shop macys over Dillard's but no more. This macys location is dead to me, and I can't think I'm the only one who has quit them. read more

Stopped here last night to look at a mattress that my girlfriend liked. We were ready to buy it, but were never able to complete the purchase. After waiting in the department for at least 30 minutes without acknowledgement by the one salesman on duty, he told us that he was busy helping another customer and at several intervals told us he was "almost done, another five minutes." After nearly an hour in the department, we left the department and went to find a manager. The manager on duty, Joy, could not have been less interested. She told us that they only had one employee in that department and that those sales take a long time to complete. She took no ownership of the issue nor did she offer solutions. It's little wonder to me why people go online and avoid going to Macy's. read more

An overpowering smell of musty mold and mildew greets each person who enters this store. I came in from the parking lot through the women's clothing section and almost left immediately! However, I really wanted to view their furniture so I stayed long enough to make it through their small offerings and then I had to leave. The one person in the department who greeted us was pleasant enough and did not hover about us, seeming to prefer to sit at a desk and watch customers. I can't imagine buying a floor model piece of furniture out of fear of what smells it would harbor. The women's clothing section looked a bit promising but the terrible smell drove me out of the store. Based on this experience, I will never return. read more

Bad service seems to be the trend at Macy's. Recently I attempted to make a purchase and provided them with a credit card to hold a presale item. Next thing you know they have charged my credit card for $3100.00 on what should have been a $550.00 purchase. Now they are saying that it is a lengthy process to reverse the charges and they cant even work with the issuing bank because they are unable to receive incoming faxes from my bank who is requesting information from them to reverse the charges. Throughout the process of trying to remedy this situation employees of Macy's have not returned phone calls, not followed through on their promises and continued to say they are doing all they can to remedy the situation. My credit card company has handled the situation but wth no assistance from Macy's. I plan to cancel my Macy's credit card and not return to Macy's for anything in the future. Like Catherine D's post all of my phone calls were transferred to the black hole and when I finally did get through to a manager she was not of any real help. Customer service is not a priority at Macy's but getting your credit card business ccertainly is. It is a shame that Macy's, which was once a premiere shopping destination, now provides a customer service level not even on par with Wal Mart. read more

This is a complaint about RICHARD in Furniture, and a complaint about their Furniture sales. My wife and I were looking for a couch and stopped by Macy's Furniture on our way to the parking lot (had an appointment at Apple). Looked at a few couches and the talked to the salesperson about couches. We talked about our warranty concerns, and he said they have the best warranty. It is serviced directly through Macy's and covers any damage, and is full replacement for 7 years. A co-worker of his overheard the whole conversation, and corrected him by stating that the warranty would have to be repurchased, but it does cover all damages for seven years. I made a point to verify that any stupid thing I did to this sofa was covered, and they verified that even if I threw it off the back of a truck to see how far it would roll I was covered. I purchased knowing nothing that extreme would happen, and that I had great customer service on my side. Lies. All of it Blatant Lies. The warranty service is a joke. I wish I would have just used the $1200 I spent to light my BBQ pit. I would have gotten good use out of it. We called him when a problem occurred, and he said we can handle it on the next Monday. This pushed back the acceptable return date, since he acknowledged he lied and said he could schedule a pick up then. AGAIN WITH THE LIES. I like Macy's and this specific branch has a great variety of products with decent brands. Definitely look at the sale and clearance racks for both the clothes and shoes because oh my gosh they have super awesome deals. I have come across some very helpful and nice sales people here so I can't complain with my experience. The only problem is that when some of the staff are rushed they're not as accommodating. The layout is very efficient, bathrooms are clean but I'm not gonna lie the fitting rooms can be a hot mess sometimes.
