Went today for mother's day to pick up a gift for my wife. I already had the mentality that it was going to be crazy inside so I knew I would have to be patient. I walked to the purse section to pick one out but noticed that all the bags were locked in together so I headed to the register. I stood in line waiting for the cashier. They only had 2 registers open I didn't see any associate on the floor helping out. The cahiers looked overwhelmed with the people and I don't blame them not only did they have to ring up the customers they also had to be helping out the people asking questions about purses. The cashier that helped me out was named Marqise he had excellent customer service he was trying to help everyone out the best he could. So it was a good experience, I'm surprised they were so understaffed compared to during the week where they have to many employees and it's slow. read more

This goes to the MAC store I love shopping there for their makeup , I understand how overwhelming it might be when there's a few customers and only 3 employees. I wish I can give this Macy's zero stars, because it doesn't even deserve one. I am writing this review not because the store is "ghetto" and has limited selection, but because the customer service is horrifying. The sales associates at the shoe dept. are the worse!! They have bad attitude, always extremely rude, and only give you service if your going to help them get their commission. The sales associates in ALL the women dept. are no better and they act as though they own the store. If it weren't for customers they would NOT have a job. I really hate going to this Macy's, but since it is so nearby I sometimes have to stop there and for the convenience I always end up with a harder time here. I really do like Macy's, but this specific store location is really making me want to hate it. Please do NOT buy from this store!!!! Just wait until a One Day Sale or another great sale and drive a little farther to a better Macy's with a broader and better selection where they really do appreciate your business. read more

M.a.c has the worst customer service ever at this location in Downey! I had to return a few of my foundations a few times because the makeup artists would match me and when I would get home the color would be so ashy on my skin. There is a skinny Black girl that works there that recognized me from those different occasions and I was already getting helped by another makeup artist so she pulled her to the side and told her something and whatever she told her the lady just seemed awkward towards me. If a customer wants to return something because you people aren't familiar with all skin tones don't be a bitch because the makeup doesn't look right. Her makeup looks like cake on her face I mean come on she should be fired immediately. No problems anywhere else just at that location and with her. read more

Macy's is playing games with their coupon deals this holiday season. Coupons prior were always easy to use, not a lot of restrictions until now. There's a time limit, like 7am to 1pm to use the coupons. And you can't use coupons on certain items with signs that are of special sale, and no clearance items. Ridiculous! Waste of time to shop for items and then can't even use the coupon! read more

Don't ever buy jewelry here! I have a very small finger so my rings have to be custom made. It was my Christmas gift from my boyfriend, they told us it would take 3 months to be made and shipped to the store. We waited he 3 months and decided to call yesterday because we heard nothing back from them. The girl told us the people who make the ring sent an email 1 week ago saying it couldn't be made to that size. So instead of calling us and letting us know as soon as they got the call they just left it and didn't bother to apologize or anything. She told me "there's nothing I can do about it" and that is why I will never ever shop at Macy's ever again. There was a girl there two mondays ago in the morning/afternoon at the clinique station. I have a problem with redness on my skin so i knew there were a couple things i would have to get im just not very knowledgeable but she showed me some creams and even helped me get a foundation which by the way nobody can match. My foundation matches perfect! I absolutely love it. Even my whole family wants to go and get the same foundation and products because they are so impressed. Im so thankful for her help! read more

I'm giving 3 stars only because I had excellent customer service from the associate at the Clinique counter. Had that been my only transaction, I would've given them 5 stars. However, the girl working in women's clothing was not friendly and was acting like the only 2 customers in that section (myself included) were overstaying their welcome, 15 minutes prior to closing. Being mindful of closing time, I had only grabbed some tops to try on, which I could do quickly. Upon entering the dressing room Sara made an unfriendly warning that she would be closing her register in 5 minutes, this was at 9:15, the store closes at 9:30. I rushed to try on the tops, and walked out a few minutes later, tried to find another size of a particular top and couldn't. At 9:23, went up to Sarah who was at the register, to ask her a question about a smaller size, and she was rude again, telling me they were closing and she was closing the register. At that point, I didn't even want to spend a penny there. I was even willing to leave my items on hold and return to buy them next day, so as not to overstay their closing time. which I didn't realize was still 7 minutes away, until I walked off and looked at the time. They shouldn't treat their customers like they are an unwanted nuisance and overstaying their welcome, as if we were welcome in the first place. If this had been my only transaction, I would've been hard pressed to give them even 1 star. This was the first and last time I will be going to this Macy's. I like Macys, because the more you spend with your Macys cards, the more coupons you get. However, they have crappy customer service.

Great staff at the cosmetics counters especially the ladies at the Anastasia/Too Faced counter (5/7. @ 6:45-7pm). The staff at the MAC counter were great as well very helpful and informative with the brand and where to get the products they don't carry. For an expensive place it sure is very disorganized and messy. I went to buy a dress shirt for my dad and it was just a total mess. Ties were just all bunched up on a table and belts were all misplaced. Not going to lie they did have some great prices on clearance stuff. read more

Needs improvement on customer services. I just purchased $100 worth of makeup only because I love urban decay.

First off, I need to say that some shoppers are just pigs! If you want to try something on, then fine, by all means try it on, but then if you decide you don't want the item, hang the thing back up and on your way out, hang the item on the return rack. Throwing the unwanted things on the floor or the chair is just rude. Do you keep your home like that? That being said, Macy employees should go into the dressing rooms way more often to clean out the dressing rooms. I've gone in there and sometimes there almost no space for me to hang my items up in or even a place to put my purse down on. I do a lot of shopping at Macy's. Their prices, deals and items carried are really good. I now only go in the morning before the "Piggies" get there. read more

They get their stuff from China. It's cheap. I don't know who the buyer is the the products are cheap. Their shoe selection is like pay less. Wasn't happy with the sales person in the mac store. She was being very unprofessional with her "skills" I ask to match my skin tone. Onece she started applying the foundation she literally spread it all the way to my ears,earrings and eye, not kidding even I thought it was ridiculous. I had to close my eyes before she poked them. Dont like going to this mall but its so close. First off, all the employees or most do not even greet you when youre passing by. Having a few friends that work at cosmetics counters they have mentioned that they are trained to greet everyone passing by. I specifically went for a foundation at the lancome counter. Was there for a few minutes and still was not greeted. Finally, the woman who worked their saw me and said hi. Did not offer to help. I had to ask her to match me. As she was matching me, I had suggested a color that I thought would match me but she said it would be too yellow for me, (I am yellow toned). I told her it was fine for my skin tone. She suggested another color for me. When I looked in the mirror, it was really light and even looking at it from the bottle it looked too light. I was skeptical and double thinking. Not just because it looked light on me, but the lady's makeup also looked un-proffesional and un experienced. Anyway, she said it "would look good in the daytime". WRONG! It was wayyyy lighter than my skin tone. I shoulda kept my instinct and kept the color I wanted. Ugh. Atleast she was nice. read more

Terrible customer service. They tell you a coupon can be used on your items but when you get to the register the items CANNOT be used with coupon. The manager Michell had a snippy attitude with us because we had a problem a month ago where they had a 60% off sign over some shirts and they refused to honor their sings. The rack was full of the same item and they told us the sign was put their by mistake, but it takes so long trying to discuss the problem with the associate then having to wait for the manager it is very frustrating on the customers behalf. They try to prove their point by making up rules that do not make since. This happens ALL the time yet the store manger says it NEVER happens. I hate to go to Macys because they always change the rules and say it was a mistake and sorry, but they wont honor it. I now only go with my husband because he likes the brands and coupons. If they have SO MANY MISTAKES, WHY DON'T THEY TAKE CARE OF THE PROBLEMS.... read more
