This store is so frustrating. They need more sales associates to assist. I literally was almost tempted to put something in my purse to get help in the housewares section. If I could give zero stars I would. This is for a purchase of a mattress. Spent a few thousand dollars on something that starting sinking after a few months. Well the pretend warranty is complete bullshit. The send out technicians to measure to see if in fact it has sunk. Well after two visits how does a mattress suddenly gain 1/4 of an inch ?? Impossible. So in order to have said mattress replace it must be 1 1/2 inches depressed. So now I'm stuck with a horrible expensive mattress and the worst customer service possible on this earth. I went to Macy's at Galleria today to look for a casual dress for a beach wedding. At first I had very poor service from two sales ladies in the dress department. I asked a kind woman in cosmetics to get the store manager for me and explained what had happened. The store manager shower up with the department manager and a third sales woman from the dress department to assist me. The three women started looking for white dresses after I described what I was wanted. Within minutes the store manager found me the most perfect dress and it was even on sale for an awesome price! The sales woman came to the fitting area and confirmed for me that the dress was the one. She then opened a new register and checked me out. Talk about turning around a bad start! They made my day! I love this store. They have a huge selection of all kinds of stuff. Their own private label, Charter Club is pretty awesome & cute. I've gotten some unique serving pieces off the clearance tables at greatly reduced prices. Also some fab sheets, duvet covers, pillowcases on their weekend sales. I bought a really nice for my husband a couple of Christmas's ago and the battery went dead. When I purchased the watch I bought the insurance plan on it as well. Keep in mind that over the last 3 years he has worn it less than a dozen times. When we arrived at Macy's to drop off the PERFECT AND FLAW OR SCRATCH FREE watch, the man behind the counter inspected it with us before taking it to send out to the "jewelry shop". After about a month I went to go pick up his watch that ONLY NEEDED A BATTERY. The whole face of the watch was scratched to hell, EVERY SINGLE LINK on the watch was scratched and oddly discolored and literally, the watch is trashed. The man that originally inspected the watch before taking possession of it was there today and refused to say one word to support us. Then the girl that was doing the transaction said that there was documentation by the receiving end (the jeweler) saying that the watch was scratched up upon arrival. BULL CRAP. They are all liars and thieves. They took my husband's PERFECT watch and RUINED it. I spoke to the useless jewelry manager, then I spoke to the useless store manager that lied to me too. I asked for the name and number of the jeweler they used and she refused to give me the information, then I asked for Corporate and their phone number. If I could give this location zero stars I would. It's the worst. My husband bought me a Michael Kors smart watch for Christmas. Found out it went on sale an amazing guy at the fashion show gave me the difference on a gift card. But the watch kept falling off my wrist. So I returned it. I made the mistake of returning it at the galleria mall. I had the receipts I told saleslady it was a gift and it keeps falling off. She took the watch and my receipt came back handed me my receipt and said you're all set. Pardon me. I returned it to the card. Noooo that was my Christmas present. Oh no problem I'll give you a gift card and she does with a little post it note on the gift card that says 284.00 okay great. Fast forward 3 weeks cute pair of jeans. Pull out the gift card and there's no money on it. Zero, nada,none. What? this card is suppose to have money on it. Sorry lady. So the money went back on my husbands card. ( I had to go home and check to make sure she put the money back on) She lied to me and gave me a gift card. Ugh. A few months back I was in the dressing room and some guy is on the other side of the door changing light bulbs WTF. No no no. Not acceptable. The store itself is tired and old. The carpeted areas are disgusting. Every thing looks shabby and in desperate need of a remodel. Very little organization. Everything is everywhere. They added the new backstage area which makes the store looks even junkier than it did. Usually they have 1or 2 people working in the shoe department. (NOT ENOUGH) I'll walk over to Dillard's now. Love this place...don't always love the prices. :( If you have to pay full price and do not have any coupons or a discount for using your Macy's card then sometimes its not worth it. HOWEVER - they often have some decent sales on ESPECIALLY if you use a Macy's card. Downer on that -another credit card we all don't need. Still, they have a great selection of everything from clothing, cosmetics, furniture, house goods ext. This is not about my experience within the store, but about a phone call I made about an online order I made for pick up at this location. I have never been a customer of Macy's, so my experience first hand with them is entirely online. I placed an order for two items, was told to wait for a confirmation email about shipment and I was under the impression that the items I bought were in stock or at a warehouse. My card was charged but the charge remained on hold and didn't go through (it would stay this way for a week). 5 days after I placed an order I received an email saying my items were now on back order and if I wanted to cancel call or email before 1/9/2020, cool I'll just cancel and buy elsewhere not knowing if I'll get it in time for Christmas. I called the number and used the robotic text service twice! The first time I called my call was outsourced to an Indian call center it was (8:30 am!) The guy tells me my order was shipped yet I never received an email saying my items were shipped but rather that my items were on back order. I tell him this and he says I can't cancel because it has shipped and I even ask when is the expected delivery time and tells me the 16th. After this call I'm getting scammy vibes and no longer want to continue this purchase so I attempt the robotic text feature they have and it gives me the same thing the guy on the phone said. At this point I've sent two emails saying cancel my order, only one gets a reply literally stating what the first email I got said about my back order. I really want to cancel my order at this point but I'm not getting any help or answers. So I decide to call this Macy's to see if they can see anything on their end to help. For starters Macy's no longer has an operator meaning you can't push 0 to talk to someone it's all push 1 for this and push 2 for that. This makes things like this very difficult to resolve, so when I called the store I had to get a department that was associated with the product I bought just so I could get sent somewhere for help. I told the girl on the phone the situation and she said I can't cancel and I told her that I got and email saying that my item was back ordered and that I could cancel if I wanted to. She then puts me on hold and another employee comes on and says did you call the number in the email, did you email them and did you text the automated service. I said yes! And repeated what I just told the girl, he says let me get another department, puts me on hold and than HANGS UP ON ME! I just want to cancel my order that the email I received said I could freakin do. So I call the support number again this is the 2nd time, I tell the lady about the back order emails saying that I can cancel the order and that the charge was still sitting on hold even though they say that I won't be charged until I go pick up my order, weird but okay. This lady never mentioned my order being shipped at all like the first guy, and she even told me that she would watch the order to make sure that it will be canceled and that my card will not be charged. NEVER AGAIN IN MY LIFE WILL I SHOP OR RECOMMEND MACYS. I can not believe the run around and lying to do something that I was clearly able to do but was getting lied to just so they could have my money, screw you Macy's just shut your doors already. read more

I was really frustrated with my Macys credit card. I went online to pay off my revolving account and it's mixed up with my 12 months no interest bill. It's hot outside and I want to pay this credit card off and just make payments on my 12 month no interest transaction. There is no customer service department anymore you have to go to any register. The lady that assisted me told me I can't pay off my regular credit card and I said I do not want to pay interest. I want to pay one off and make a payment on the 12 months special. Finally I advised her to get someone from credit on the phone. After 30 minutes I was able to pay my bill in the manner I wanted to. It's just a lack training of all employees how to accept payments properly. Other than that. I love Macy's and all the coupons and deals. read more

I'm always a bit disappointed with the service at Macy's. One day the dressing room was a TOTAL mess, to the point that I felt like I should probably point it out to someone. I couldn't even get into two of the rooms, not because the stalls were occupied, but because there were so many clothes on the floor that you couldn't move the door. When I told the woman at the register about the chaotic fitting room situation, she was completely exasperated and told me she was the ONLY PERSON working in the clothing section that day. Really? How does that even happen at a major retailer like Macy's? Hey, if you need to hire more people, there are plenty of unemployed people in this city who'd be willing to help. Don't penalize your customers. The sales can be really incredible at Macy's. That's why I keep going back. That's the ONLY REASON I keep going back. Macy's is becoming a joke. They hardly have any registers down stairs, they moved their intimates section upstairs in home which sure is designed nice but the placement could not be more off putting. I don't want to buy my knickers while people buying pots and pans and they guys shopping in active can see me. They didn't even have anyone on the intimates register so I would have had to go across to the other side of home or into men's to purchase my stuff. Don't even get me started on what they are doing to where intimates use to be. Backstage just sounds like Macy's becoming even more greedy than they already are. I gave two stars because you can see how frustrating this all is for their employees and how much they have to do with some little. If it wasn't for them however I'd give Macy's a negative 100. I was in the shoe department yesterday & was fortunate to have Customer Service Representative, Paul, to assist me with women's shoes. Paul was extremely pleasant, was very polite & even provided relevant information as to reasons to get a Macy's credit card (which I ultimately did [although I didn't need ANOTHER credit card]). If I could give Paul 10 stars **********, I WOULD! If that wasn't enough, I visited Macy's AGAIN today to purchase another pair of women's shoes & was fortunate in getting Elease (another Customer Service Representative in Women's Shoes) to assist me & Elease was also extremely helpful & she should have 10 ********** stars also. I love Macys at the Galleria Mall, and have always had a good experience here but this was by far the worst. I wish, especially during the holidays, more individuals like Yesica (in fragrance) or Jane (in shoes) would be hired because their customer service skills are on point. I came in this evening to look at gifts and found myself looking at shoes like I always do. I noticed a pair of MK flats that I wanted for work. I know agents have scanners to look at items and the sizes available so when I asked the agent by the name of Jasmine she quickly said whatever is out there is all we have. Well as much as I shop here (I'm a Platinum member) I already knew what could be done. I didn't except her answer and had her scan the item. Guess what? There was a 9 in stock. She then went to the back to check on the 9 came back out to let me know she found the 9 in the back so if I wanted I could go look for the mate. What!!! I am obviously asking for help and if you have the 9 why can't you just bring it out to me to try on. She went about her business helping a lady find her missing shoes. I then saw I believe his name is Zane (short Caucasian male with long long blondish hair) if he could bring the 9 out as I didn't want to go crazy looking for a mate if the shoe didn't fit. He was very nice as he always is and said he would bring it out. He went to the back to grab the 9 and Jasmine spoke with him telling him "I already told her" so I replied since she spoke loud enough where I could hear her that I wanted to try the 9 on so that way I wouldn't waste my time looking for a shoe that doesn't fit. The young man brought the shoe and I tried it on. It fit. While he was busy he kept reassuring me he would help me look for the mate. I sat down to wait and Jasmine came over with MK boxes and said the shoe was in the wrong spot and proceeded to open the box with a shoe that I never asked for. I then told her that I tried on the shoe and she said where did I get the 9 from she was looking all over for it. I thought to myself don't you remember the guy going to the back to get me the 9. Jasmine then proceeded to tell me that she could help me look for the mate but it would be a minute because she had 2 people and had to deal with loss prevention. I really didn't want her help at this point and told her the young man was going to help me. Sure enough the young man comes by after checking the racks and told me he was going to look in the back. Less than 5 minutes later he showed up with the mate. So I want to say thank you to that young man for his help. As far as Jasmine.....I will never ask her to help me. You never know who someone is and I didn't appreciate her trying to brush me off then try to back pedal. Maybe she should learn to be humble and apologize. Also as a customer I don't need to know what issues you are dealing with because each customer wants to feel special and like the business cares. All Jasmine did is make me feel like I was another obstacle for her get through. She definitely needs more training on how to handle things when it is busy or when things don't go completely right. If I could give 0 stars, I would! Manager Josh, in House Ware, has NO BUSINESS BEING A MANAGER!! My mother was attempting to make a return, and the Russian employee was very rude to her. When my mother asked for the manager, Josh, he was even more rude and condescending! He had a very surly, angry, unhelpful attitude. She had an online return that is a little hard to explain easily online, but the fact of the matter is that Josh is a disrespectful person who spoke down to her, patronized her, and was very sarcastic. Yes it's true they seem to operate with a skeleton crew for checking out in the clothing dept. especially. Another lady shopper even thought I worked here on my last visit even with my purse. She asked me if I was having fun shopping then. I really have to wonder how do they sell all these clothes? It's fun just observing what the clerks and stock persons are doing to look busy. Last visit a clerk was in the aisle near the watches with 2 giant orange construction cones on either side of her and she was sweeping the floor with a broom but the floor was perfectly clean. A stock person was pushing a very large wheeled clothes caddy thru the store but it only had a tiny piece of lingerie hanging on it. So my point is at times it's so slow in here especially on the weekdays the employees find anyway to "look" busy. I think overall this is a safe place to shop in general. That became evident to me upon departing the store on the Costco side-a patrol car was sitting right at the entrance. Then I also observed 2 other patrol cars, one near Penney's and Dillard's. If you had a bad experience here give them another chance. All businesses have off days and this store is no exception. read more

I seriously think that some associates need a lesson in customer service. Went to buy a food processor and needed some help. I went up to the person at the counter as I did not see anyone around. She came to help me but was very curt and did not seem to have enough information about the products so I was essentially left to my own research(You know how some people seem so disinterested in helping you that you decide not to waste any more time) I finally went up to pay and gave her a card that had over 150 on it and i was sure cause i had shopped for something less than a month ago. She scanned the card and told me that I had 28 on it. I asked her to check again and she said my card (which was a macys gift card) had crashed her register. I requested for the card and said I would like to check back at another register as i was pretty sure that i had much more on my card. She said she would need to undo the transaction and tried again and the card showed the correct balance this time. This is the second time ive been to this location and the first time i visited one of the sales associate who helped me (wish i could remember her name!) was so helpful i was completely sold with getting the Ryder sofa. I came back today with my partner to check out the sofa and have him try it out but not one associate approached us for help and everyone seems to be preoccupied with whatever there is that they were doing. There was only one other customer in the store besides me and my partner but it took us a solid 15mins until a sales associate actually approached us. He seems to be rushing us as well. One thing that turned us off instantly is as we were looking at other options for the sofa and asking for prices he would answer back with "thats too expensive" as if we couldnt afford it. I did a preorder of some make up on Sunday and when I went back yesterday to pick it up, they handed me my bag from the back and there were items missing from my bag and order. It appeared someone rifled through it and took things, because the wrapping and packaging was there but the item was gone. I did not discover this until I got home and now have to go back and I am being told that the item is now sold out so they won't replace it. My only course of action is to return what I have and get a refund. If you do any sort of preorder or ship to store unpack all your items before you leave. I have been shopping at this location for over 10 years and I doubt I will shop at this location again and I definitely won't do any form of ship to store or presale. read more

After shopping for about an hour, my roommate and I ducked behind the purses and found a check out counter with no lines with a younger girl ringing us up. Her name was Erica and she was hilarious! Awful customer service from the few employees that were actually on the floor. Finding assistance was impossible and when we finally found "help" they were never too eager to help us and seemed irritated by us for asking question or needing direction to different departments. I have worked in retail and know what it's like to be treated poorly by customers so i always treat employees with extra respect and courtesy and they did not reciprocate. It's obvious nobody in management cares if there's a full staff behaving this way. No wonder these department stores are losing to online shopping. read more
