However, the fitting rooms should be separated for men and women, especially since they only use curtains instead of physical doors. I bought several work pants and had them altered for them just to fade after washing them. I called the customer service line where they refused to give me gift cards or replace the pants. That was a lot of wasted money for these pants to fade color. I will never purchase anything else from them plus I plan to do a review in my YouTube channel. I normally don't drive this far out just to get a shirt at H&M but after Fashion Valley location told me about the item availability, I came here to find out. Thank you to Modesto to take the time to look for my item, and even called a few stores from UTC La Jolla to Otay Rach to El Cajon, I guess I can't trust the H&M app on any items, but I should have called the store before coming in. I had some items I wanted to exchange but knew that they were all on different orders so I tried to make it as simple for the cashier as possible by just having them type in the items numbers instead of searching for the purchases on my member ID. Her & her cystic acne then spent the rest of the time sighing loudly & acting like I was inconveniencing her. This place is always messy, the dressing rooms are always disgustingly dirty with dust bunnies all over. For being a student they offer 20% discount, I've been coming to this h&m for years and have never had an issue with showing my school ID. The lady checking me out took my ID and was about to give me the discount when another lady came and said no I have to show my app that I'm registered. I have the app, but have never had issues with just showing my ID. The fact that the "manager" had to come and teach the lady about how to verify is alarming. How are you training your employees H&M and especially for this manager to tell me no everyone here knows how you're suppose to verify, and clearly they don't because the lady ringing me out just took my ID. If I could give this a 0 star rating I would!! I cannot believe the treatment I just went through while being at this store. I believe this interaction happened with the store manager/manager of some sort (don't understand how he is a manager since the way he treated me was absolutely ridiculous!!) I had asked him for help looking for a certain size and he had let me know that they no longer had the size I was looking for so I thanked him and walked away. As I was walking away I heard him call me a derogatory name which consisted of the words "stupid" and "b*tch" I'm absolutely APPALLED at the way customers are treated at this location and I will never be coming here again! This may be my go to spot for everyday wear. This store seems larger with more selection then the Otay Ranch location. I found items here that were not available at Otay Ranch. The men's section seemed to have more things in stock and more stuff on sale. This place is a definite yes. read more

I agree that this is the busiest location out of all San Diego. Maybe because they have awesome sales? Maybe because they have more variety on selection of clothes? Maybe because they're located in an awesome mall? Either way, I always frequent this place and I always find something. They have clothes that fits from babies to mature adults. I can be basic and buy a hoodie or be fancy and buy a trench coat. Just depends on the whether and occasion. Always expect long lines but the registers move in a decent speed. Horrible!!! Disorganized!! Messy!!! Sloppy!!! Chaotic!! I normally enjoy shopping at H&M stores because their Quality of clothes is definitely better than Forever 21. However I will never be shopping at this location again. They are soooo understaffed. I was in line for 25 minutes just to check out. The only had one cashier station open with 3 cashiers ringing customers up. Ludicrous!!! This H&M ridiculously looooooong lines. They even have cash registers in the men's division, that they refused to open. That's deplorable customer service. Actual how can you even call that service? This H & M lacked the variety that Otay had, but most of this review comes from one lady who made this experience unfulfilled. I went with my boyfriend because he needed some shirts and the lady in the dressing room was downright rude and scowled at everyone there. So it's just common sense to know that somebody wants to see what their sig other is trying on once it's on and so I go stand outside the stall and immediately the lady screams, "YOU CAN'T GO IN THERE!" Yeah, obviously! You think we're going to do the dirty in a dirty store? I'm sorry, I have the mind set of a classy lady unlike you. Afterwards my boyfriend came out after trying on all of his clothes and he gave her a white shirt and said, "this shirt was really dirty" and she just snatched it without saying sorry or anything. Anyways, when we go up to the front we wanted to complain to the manager so we asked the cashier if we could and wow, did he seem scared. So it turns out this rude lady in the dressing room was the manager. How awful. IE: surrounded by affordable stores (unlike the new Fashion Valley) and it's in the beautiful, easy to get to (unlike the "toll road" otw to the Otay location) Plaza Bonita. This location usually has a variety of sizes in stock and the employees are very helpful. Angelica is truly Angelic! I called the store to see if they had a jacket in my size in stock. She was able to locate it and put it on hold for me with just a description! No style or item #! The fall collection at this store leans towards the conservative and offers none of the bold, striking cuts and colors featured in the H&M magazine (you could pick one up for free at the door) or their website. Don't expect to see the much-coveted Comme des Garçons collection here, either. But I got some sweaters for work - 2 for $20! They're these long-sleeved sweaters with dickies attached. I usually really like the customer service here but today it was a no. I went to return a sweater I didn't end up liking (12-24-19) in the morning and the girl at the far right with black curly hair with a few tattoos on her arm just gave me a bad attitude. I presented her nicely with my receipt, and the sweater with tags and everything but she seemed to be highly bothered that I was returning a sweater. She was inspecting the sweater which I get it's normal but then she started to take off like what maybe seem to her as hair, string I don't know, but it was from the sweater since the material was really like thick or something. She was literally nitpicking. Then she asked if I wore it and I told her yeah to try it on, which then she proceeded to give me my money and the receipt but she didn't say anything else like ok that's it, nothing and I just stood there since she didn't say anything so I just left. Not even a thanks for coming nothing. I don't expect for you to pull the red carpet but at least she could of let me know that, that was it. Maybe she doesn't like when customers return an item. I love H&M! Their clothes are very trendy and cheap! This is the only store that has a baby section.

This store is VERY busy and they don't have a lot of sizes in (4 and 6). Some items I just passed on but I really wanted a leather jacket that they only had in size 2 and upwards of 10. Jenni the cashier went out of her way on a busy day to call another store and see if they had my size (which they did). I know it's typical for cashiers to call other stores but the lines were long and she was very sweet about it and rung me up for my other items while she waited for a response. The other employees were also sweet. Their customer service made my experience better even with a lot of the items not being available in my size. read more
