This review is for the ordering process. I ordered several items. They all arrived individually. One item was completely different from what i ordered. When i called to arrange a return, they said i had to take the item to UPS myself. This makes no sense. You sent me the wrong item. I should not be inconvenienced. Pretty sure its a call center in who knows where. On line shopping here is way led than ideal. Chances are you can find the same item on Amazon or another site so try there instead. read more

Macy's has the WORST representative's working for them. They finally transferred me to a manager who was able to help. These employees are very under trained employees. It takes a act of Congress to speak to these non speaking English representative's!! Very frustrating, makes me want to cancel my credit card! read more

If you are looking to make a furniture purchase, just know the Macy's Furniture Gallery (outside of Oak Park Mall but I am leaving my comment here since when I Googled it and got directions I thought I was going to the store in the mall) in Overland Park, KS customer service is pitiful! I want to share my purchasing experience after driving four hours to Kansas from another state to see the Stevon 3-Piece sectional (it was not available at any of the Macy's in my state). Sadly, after arriving exciting to see the sectional I had a disturbing experience when I arrived at the Macy's furniture store. The salesperson was very curt and dismissive, and she flat out lied and said this sectional was no longer available for purchase and shipping. But I had checked online, spoke to someone from the 1-800 to confirm its availability, and shipped to my area the week before, since during the pandemic a lot of stores have had items out of stock, on backorder, or sometimes their online inventory is off. I also had spoken by phone to an associate from the store to verify it was on the showroom floor before taking a day trip to the store and she confirmed that they had one for viewing, I told her I would drive there next week. Once again, I only drove there to see it in person since it was not available locally. But I was in the store less than 10mins altogether, and it would have been even shorter if I had not asked the salesperson to recheck the information that she had provided me with, but she kept insisting it was not available, but she eventually checked reluctantly (I had also checked online the night before and the information still said it was available). Although I remained professional, leaving the store I was upset and puzzled that I traveled such a considerable distance just to be told I could buy the item. Lastly, I am glad I called the 1-800 number when I arrived home because just as I thought it was available for purchase and shipping. The Sale Associate on the phone was amazing! She did not dismiss my experience and she offered an additional discount to compensate for the poor treatment. I decided to think about it overnight because the sectional was now linked to an unwarranted bad experience. But after a good night's rest I thought about it and after comparing it to my second choice at an online store I knew I really loved the sectional, and I did not want to settle. I also want to add that the two delivery men from my local store did a fantastic job! Finally, I have purchased countless items from Macy's over the years, but I never had an experience like at the Kansas location. Although this was the first time I bought furniture from Macy's I still recommend buying from them because the corporation is bigger than one ignorant employee. Despite the negative in-store experience (at the Kansas location), the online/1-800 experience rectified the situation wonderfully. And I will absolutely continue to shop at other locations! read more

Without a doubt, the WORST retail experience EVER. Ordered furniture in January, promised April delivery. Changed to March, then back to April, then May, then June, then July. Arrived in July and one leg of the head board was wrong (holes drilled wrong). They said 4 months for the new one! I had to tell them to go up the ladder. They did...then FOUR weeks! I said go up again. Delivered within a week. Waited 2 weeks for assembler to arrive. Wrong paperwork. Two more weeks. Then they told us it was a 4 hour job so they'd have to come back in 2 weeks, work for 2 hours (maximum), then leave and I had to call in again, wait two weeks and then they'd come back for the other 2 hours!!! So, with no experience, my wife and I assembled it in 2 hours flat, even with missing hardware! Missing one night stand. Was told 4 months, after much "discussion", they said ok...4 weeks, more discussion, 1 week!!! They lied, bluffed and misrepresented themselves. Example: I asked for the store mgr and they said OK....Women came on the line, I explained the problems...nothing. Turns out she was the temporary phone answerer!!! I would NEVER buy ANYTHING at Macy's again. Worst sales and customer service I have ever seen. read more

Went in to get a pair of shoes found some cute ones and wanted to get the right size. There were three women behind the counter, one checking out a customer and two where trying to figure out how to get a label maker to work. After 10 minutes of being ignored finally someone asked what we wanted. People didn't seem to want to be there and were really unhelpful and didn't even get the right size. read more

If you have ever been to some of the Macy's in California (San Fran/L.A.) you know that this is a dumbed down version for Kansas. In fact, it is still really the Jones store. They are not supplying any of the designer names that are commonplace at most quality department stores. Macy's is for you if you- A. Like to dig through jammed packed racks placed too close together looking for the good stuff, which is less then 10% of the store. B. Like buying things on sale just because they are on sale and not because they are attractive or of good quality. C. Like to try on clothes in dressing rooms without locks featuring the ultimate in ugly lighting while stepping on all the "try on's" from the day. D. Are a cougar hitting Raoul's later and need to work a flimsy piece of rayon so you can still pay the babysitter when you get home at 1am. Obviously I am not a big fan of their apparel offerings. If you have to go, skip the clothing and go to the home department and buy yourself a pretty decent set of sheets. One more tip. If you ever feel like your life sucks, head out the the Macy's in North Kansas City- you will feel better right quick. read more

Apparently, people don't like the Macys at Oak park. I'm not one of them. Here are a few reasons why: 1. If they don't have something in store you can get it on the website. 2. They sell my most favorite brand of jeans. I've literally told every woman I know about these jeans because they fit like a glove on ANYONE, any body shape! AND the jeans are priced at $30 regular price! I've worn seven jeans, lucky's, big star's, william rast....and nothing compares to...wait for it...Celebrity Pink Jeans. Awful name, great fit. 3. I've found the people working to be very friendly and helpful. I was wanting to buy a Michael Kors tortoise shell watch and the sales lady let me know that if I waited a month I could use a 20% off coupon that was coming to me that could be used on watches, I guess they usually exclude watches with those coupons. I also had a girl in the shoe dept help me get 3 pairs of shoes for $150! Ralph Lauren heels, Steve Madden shoes, Nine West loafers! Is there a larger selection at other stores around the country, yes. But I've always found what I wanted and more at this Macy's. read more

This is a two star review in three star clothing. This Macy's location at Oak Park Mall is well stocked, always has great sales, but has some rough customer service. Furthermore, clothes are frequently just thrown out on tables, mis-marked, or put in the wrong location altogether. Macy's sales are hard to beat. I'm quick to jump on long-sleeve button up shirts for work that are marked down 50 - 80%. It's easy to find a designer shirt (Geoffry Beane, Van Heusen, DKNY, Alfani, Kenneth Cole, Michael Kohrs, etc..) for as little as 10 -15 bucks. Similarly, ties are well priced around 8 bucks when found on sale. Other sections around the store are equally well priced. My wife always finds something decent in the women's section and there are some well priced options in the home section as well. It's frustrating, however, to see a shirt or sweater marked in my size (16.5 32/33 and/or XL - not uncommon in a store like Macy's) only to find out that it's a 15 32/33 or size 30 skinny pants. Hopes officially dashed. The customer service is what makes this location two stars. I've never actually had anyone help me while searching for clothes. Most of the employees here hang behind the registers or simply disappear. Understandably, this may be a temporary job for many of the employees but at least make an effort to be cordial to the customers. Something as simple as "good morning, how are you today? let me know if I can help you with anything," would go a long way toward improving their service. I haven't had a negative experience with staff here, but no positive adventures either, unfortunately. I'll continue to shop here for their great deals and the vast selection of clothing (especially when compared to other Macy's locations around the Metro). Buyer beware, however, when expecting a positive experiences from their staff. read more

There are so many brands for women to choose from! The departments are well stocked. I can always find what I need. Their shoe department is full of great choices, too. I can also look through the sale racks and find a nice pair of shoes. When I need a gift for the men in my life, I head straight to Macy's. I know I can get something nice and stylish that they will like! Macy's is my go-to store! I find what I need every time! AND, their website is very useful and handy!! read more

The carpet was really gross dirty on the sales floor in the ladies department. All the fitting rooms were closed except one. Which I understand. But the fitting rooms were filthy as well. Nasty floors that were dirty with spill stains that had dried up, and benches that were grossly dirty. I didn't take my shoes off, and pushed my jeans to my ankles to try on dresses. I was going to leave when I saw this, but, I need to find a dress for a special occasion and thought what if one of these dresses looks good. I will not go back unless desperate. With all the fitting rooms in the store, why can't they rotate and clean. It was so bad. The sales associate was nice and apologetic, I'd have a hard time working in that environment. read more

I've had varying experiences at this Macy's. Generally speaking, it's a typical Macy's store (if you don't consider those in Chicago or NY typical), but the one thing that stands out for me at this store is the customer service. Sometimes, it is literally non-existent. There have been two occasions when I have left the store without purchasing items I had already picked out simply because I could not find an employee who would ring up my items. It does seem a bit silly that one cannot find an associate to save one's life in this store, or if one finds said associate, said associate literally turns and walks away while you're trying to talk to them ("Can you please check me out or help me find someone who will?" Please?"). Do they expect that people will simply take what they want? How do they think they'll make any money if there is no one who is willing to take it from the customers? Also, this is a huge pet peeve of mine, but this store stinks. Why must customers, some of whom may have allergies or sensitive airways, be inundated with blasts of the latest perfume scents? read more

I'm a huge fan of Macy's. They were the first company to give me a job right out of college. That being said, I know how well their sales staff is trained. I know that their managers are typically, pretty amazing. I also know the values of the company and I've carried them with me to every job I've had since working there. I've been to many MANY Macy's stores and I can honestly say that this one has the worst staff I have ever encountered in one of their stores. They are downright rude. They just seem miserable. I have experienced better service in Bellevue and Redmond, WA. I was able to find a blouse and when I went to the service counter no one was there. We waited a while and this skinny girl with long hair came and seemed in bad mood . No hello, sorry for the wait, nothing. She scanned it and I showed her a coupon for 20 % off and she made a face like it was a pian for her to take care of me as a customer. Like I was a bother. She just had a nasty attitude. If it was not because I am just visiting this area I would have called the manager. I took my son to buy a suit since he is graduating from college soon. I received the kind of service that I consider 'old school'. Steve educated us on how to buy a suit, what to look for and how to tell if a suit fits properly. On top of that, we bought a suit on sale. Mr. Steve was the best sales clerk we have ever had the pleasure to deal with. Did I mention we went to 2 other stores first but it was an easy decision to buy at Macy's immediately. I just got back from the Oak Park location. The customer service there was absolutely terrible. I came there for the sales and for the "pick up at store" feature, but I was so frustrated once I got there at the lack of customer service that had I not been making last minute, essential purchases, I would have thrown the towel in and left. First: The shoe department. I find 2 pairs that I liked, but could find nobody who could help me. Finally I made eye contact with a person, and they looked away and pretended like the didn't see me. I flagged this person down, and they said they'd bring out the shoes. Well they never did. 10 minutes later I realize that same person is at the register; again we made eye contact and then she looked away. I tried to be polite and wait for a while since it is Black Friday weekend, then finally when I realized she had no customers at the cash register, went up to the cash register and asked her if she'd had the chance to get my shoes. She nonchalantly points to a seat near the register; they'd been sitting there the whole time. I try them on, then decide to get the shoes, and then find myself waiting at the cash register for 2 straight minutes while basically nobody acknowledges me; only one of the 2 cashiers was busy helping customers. I'd been nothing but pleasant, patient and polite. I was absolutely appalled and it made my stomach turn to have to tell the cashier the name of the person who 'helped" me out today since the lady was standing right there. Second: I go to pick up an item I had ordered online for store pickup. The lady barely said a word. I didn't even realize the process was finished because she so haphazardly handed me my item in a bag and looked at me like an idiot when i asked her if there was anything else I needed to do to finalize the purchase. I left the store in a bad mood and couldn't wait to get out. I kept trying to figure out what it was about me that was so off-putting to every single macy's worker there (3 of them total) that they felt the need to totally disregard me. I don't usually do this Yelp thing but had to look online and now I see that it isn't just me. Macy's is always a clutter, but they do have good deals. I would highly recommend trying to find the items you need elsewhere, but if you do end up going to Macy's go to the one at Town Center. At least the people who work there are decent. I for one will never again make the trip back to Oak Park Mall Macy's. read more

It was a complete mess but the shopper I am, I preserved, however, after nearly 2 hrs I was unable to find true matching parts and the dressing room felt like a cold, dark basement.
