I want to give a huge thank you to Bryant for his assistance. After a disappointing and rude experience at Dillard's we went to Macy's to find a dress for my mother in law for an upcoming special event. She found a beautiful formal dress but needed a specific size. Bryant went above and beyond, locating three stores that had the size needed. One of those store being in Burbank. Bryant worked with his management team to confirm the dress was available and placed on hold for us. My mother in law was able to drive to Burbank same day and pick up the dress. Poor customer service but more in specific beware of one of the managers, Stephanie, she truly made a simple transaction harder than it needed to be. Additionally she just has a poor attitude when taking care of customers, when we spoke to her the second time she was much more rude (than before) which is why we avoided her the second time but could not . I would not recommend handling any problems with her because all she will say is call customer service when that is HER JOB. Please consider other employees as manager who were more helpful. Whenever I am in this mall, I always come here to check what's new and on sale. I love to look at their displays, the style that is trending. This way, I get ideas and go look somewhere else where I can afford them without breaking my wallet. The store is impressive. Unfortunately the customer service for department stores, Macys in general is not what it once was. From the people in the warehouse/shipping, not making sure the correct items are being delivered. To the people that answer the calls, can't resolve issues. Everyone seems to have their own way of doing things so when you call to get an answer/resolution it will depend on who answers and what they know. I saw the their add for sale on shoes. Got my son a pair of Dockers leather formal shoes on line. Went to the store to check it out. Then Marina comes in hauling some merchandise and saw me and my son looking around. She immediately helped us find the shoes from the back. Then lead us to the pick up cashier. But the challenge was that I just paid for it on line a couple of minutes after getting the shoes. So it took a while for Marina then her supervisor Sameer to figure it out. They went over and beyond. I only had to wait maybe 30 min after. Great and awesome customer service. Kudos to Marina and Sameer!!! Marina has a great potential to be more. This Macy's has failed to have swept us off our feet. It's safe to say that it won't be living up to its hype anytime soon. It's also unfortunate that this giant retailer didn't take a bigger gamble in the AV because consumers have little, if no other option but to shop at Dillards. With the now defunct Gottschalks and Mervin's out of business, the road was paved for Macy's. Hoping that they would invest in our community is an overstatement. It feels more like a quick cheap buck. I'm not talking about creating jobs here, more of a poor quality, in need of better brands, larger inventory store to be precise. Clearly a less than average size Macy's, all departments are notably crammed into this ONE LEVEL store. Customer service is average with the notable exception for the infamous MAC counter. Horrible...horrible....horrible This Macys has a very poor selection of clothing, there is very limited selection of brands such as mostly Guess and American Rag,Tommy Hilfiger( if anyone still likes this brand). BEWARE: Pam at the men's Macy's customer service register is HORRIBLE. She is the worse cashier I have EVER encountered as a weekly Macy's shopper. This so called cashier is rude and unprofessional. I would be embarrassed to have her as an employee. If I'm willing to spend a great deal of money at a department store, I expect a friendly customer service cashier that is patient with the consumer. If I could put a negative on here I would. I am absolutely appalled at how my parents were treated in this store. My mom finally convinced my dad to go to the mall with her to purchase a suit for my wedding. I can remember my dad wearing a suit maybe one time in my entire life so this is a big deal for him. My parents went to Macy's thinking that they could get all their questions answered. What they ended up getting was the worst customer experience EVER!!!! First, my mom tells me that nobody was available so after someone finally decided to show up they were approached with attitude. Basically the girl looked at my dad and said " there is nothing in this store that will fit you. You will have to order out of the catalog." My dad is 6'4 and skinny. My mom said that was fine but if she could show them what the suits look like in certain price ranges she would appreciate it so she knows what to purchase online. THE SALES ASSOCIATE REFUSED TO SHOW HER ANYTHING!!!!!! As in REFUSED!! Ya I'm slightly pissed off about it if you can't tell. My mom could not remember her name. Probably because she never told her. So I marched my mom right back to Macy's so she could show me who this girl was. Of course she wasn't there but all my mom could tell me is that she is a really short African American woman. Luckily, my parents were able to find Mirage (a suit shop right outside of Macys) and they were treated like royalty there. Where by the way they bought a beautiful suit for wayyyy less than Macy's and had outstanding customer service. I even went back today to thank the sales associate at Mirage for saving this experience for my parents and bought more merchandise from him just for being awesome. I absolutely do not except this type of customer service! The managers of this Macy's should be ashamed that they are not coaching their employees to a high standard of excellence around customer service. Disclaimer: my last Macy's experience before this store was the Macy's in the former Marshall Fields on State Street in Chicago. Sigh. The Palmdale store is smaller than even one floor of the seven in that Macy's. The decor is underwhelming. I don't know if Macy's gutted the property or Gottschalk's did, but the white walls and generic white drop ceiling remind me of a K-Mart (Gottschalk's at least had a pretty faux stained glass ceiling above the cosmetics dept.). I can understand that Macy's didn't want to invest a whole lot on the AV market at first (Rant: why do marketers think we're all a bunch of drooling morons on public assistance out here in the AV?). Hopefully, Macy's will fix up the place. The juniors/ young mens departments are ginormous-- I think with the AV demographic they'd be better off with more space devoted to grownups. But I'm sure they do what their marketing department wants them to do. I do like the lingerie department. The other grown up clothes they did have did nothing for me. The service is better at Dillard's. For now, I'll probably visit once in while to check the clearance racks, keep shopping at Macy's online and hope they fix this one up. read more

There isn't much I can say about Macy's that most of you don't already know. Once you walk in you immediately experience thousands of perfume smells all at once. WOW. I honestly would never set foot in here if it wasn't for my wife. I'm a t shirt and jeans kinda guy and no - not shirts with dragons all over. How some guys can shop here is beyond me. I believe we have hit a point where mens jeans are just as tight as womens. Here is a good rule of thumb for those of you who are in denial. If you and your special lady have to change in the dark and it's hard to tell who's is what. Then you should prob think about maybe going back to those 501's.
