Terrible service. I called, seeking a particular brand of hair, and I was left on hold. I then went into the store. I had to ask for help from a group of lady salespeople who were just talking to themselves. The worst part is, you need to spend $300.00 to receive a lousy $10.00 off. I am returning to Genesis. This review is not about the products offered at the store, but the practice of not listing prices on those products. I recently shopped at the Reseda store and was surprised to notice the obvious lack of pricing on merchandise and shelves. The only way you can tell how much an item costs is to ask a sales attendant (if one is available) to scan the price for you privately. This discourages comparison shopping within the store and doesn't allow the customer to know the true value of an item they may want to purchase. The only way you know how much you're spending per product is when you stand in a checkout line and wait to be rung up. My complaint to the manager on duty was met with an uninterested response. I was told to come back to the store in person on a day the owner may be there, but the manager would not say what day/time that would be. Really? No formal way to make a complaint or ask a question of a business frequented by hundreds of people? This no-price practice is UNETHICAL, PREDATORY, LACKS CUSTOMER CONSIDERATION, and is a possible violation of CA "Honest Pricing " law. Placing ethnic beauty supply stores in underserved communities does not exempt retailers from honoring the value of their customers. Buyers, it's time to acknowledge our economic power and demand the respect of the businesses we support! read more

Just left this store, and I won't be back. When I walked in there were two women at the counter, nobody greeted me. They were just talking and laughing to themselves and stared at me. Hunted around the store to find what I wanted, nobody asked me if I needed help and when I left, no one said anything. Customer service is all important. I've visited this beaut supply twice in 2022 about 6 months apart. Now the reason for my rare visits is because when you walk in the door it's an instant cold feeling and I don't mean literally. I mean from the time you walk in door nobody greets you the ladies just standing behind the counter just chatting amongst themselves. So my first visit I went in for eyelash glue, they were busy talking no one asked if I needed help so I proceeded to look for what I needed. I had a question about the product so I had to approach them to ask questions. I had plans so I still continued to patronize their business. But when I walked out I told myself I'm never coming back here. Very unprofessional. Fast forward to today. It's New Years Eve I called @ 4:26 and spoke with a young lady about a product I was looking for. She confirmed they had it and I told her I was on my way, she said we close in less than 20 minutes. I told her I'll make it see you soon. I made it there in 10 minutes. The moment I walk in the door one of the Hispanic girls says " our wig section close in 4 minutes ". I was on the phone when I walked in so what she had said caught me by surprise so I told the person I was on the phone with I'll call you back. So I asked her again what did you say. And she repeated herself. I paused for a second while another Hispanic girl and an African American girl stood staring at me. I told her I didn't come for a wig my hair is already done. I proceeded to tell her I just called about a product. She well I'm just telling you very rude and very nasty. So I proceeded to tell her that that was rude, and I asked why did you ask me that because I'm African American with a scarf on? She said no we tell everybody. The whole time her and the other young ladies behind the counter were very insensitive, never apologize just going back and forth arguing with me. I was so upset yet and still I still continued to patronize their business. After the purchase there was no Thank you or anything it was like she had an attitude with me for being Black and not liking how she greeted me when I walled into a business. So as she walked away I said Thank You and her response was Happy New Year. So at this point I said y'all B$&@hes rude, so the lady that rung me up said well don't come back. I said I won't. So they (all 3 of the employees that were behind the counter) continued to argue with me. While I'm standing at the door an older African American lady walk in they never asked her what they asked me, so I asked them you guys aren't going to ask her or tell her about the wig section. Then they said the same thing to her she looked at them so surprised and said "oh I don't need that". So now they want me out. So they just start saying just leave just leave. Mind you 2 more African American ladies walk in they didn't say anything about a wig to them. But I'm still standing the door now I'm talking to the African American girl that works there just letting her know that wasn't right. Another Hispanic lady that was working in the store, she was working at a counter all the way in the left when you walk-in she hollers from way over there just leave so I asked her who you talking to. I never knew she was even I the store. So she walk over towards me but not to close just to join in a the nasty negative customer service her co workers were already giving. Finally they threaten me with calling the PLOICE I told them to go right ahead because I knew I had done nothing to them and I also told them I didn't have any wants or a warrant ( meaning I'm legit ). I waited outside for a few minutes and then I left to go to the 99 Cents store which is in the same parking lot. When I came out to my car I see the police waiting for me. So I approached them before they could approach me I knew exactly what they wanted. They asked me what happened I told them they said it was very rude of them to do that and they told me to have a Happy New Year. They also told me that they explain to the young ladies that it was nothing they can do to me because I didn't commit any crimes. Overall it was rude and I don't think she or any Hispanic would like if I said our bean and cheese section closes in 4 minutes. They all need to be trained on proper customer service. I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND ILL BE SURE TO LET OTHERS KNOW TO TREAD LIGHTLY WHEN PATRONIZING THIS BUSINESS. Happy New Year ! read more

Wow Beauty always has excellent customer service & a great & thorough selection of products. Whenever I come in I'm always greeted by every employee & told if I need help they're available, if I'm wandering around at least one of them will always ask if I'm looking for something specific, they're well staffed, well stocked, very knowledgeable about the products their store carries, and either always know when a specific product will be ordered again/back in stock, or they quickly ask a nearby coworker that knows. Customer service is always one of the most important things to me when it comes to any business, and Wow Beauty gets a 10/10 on that mark. If I have a question on how to style something, what product is best for what, etc. they know the answer or know which of their coworkers will know the answer. They are so knowledgeable, professional, and helpful. I have made WowBeauty my first stop for all my hair-related needs for about a year now and I am never disappointed. The store is always clean, carries a great & diverse selection of products, they know what their customers want and need & stock accordingly. I usually have bad experiences going to beauty supplies, the employees are usually rude and unknowledgeable about their products or kinky hair (which their store is targeted towards, which is very odd to me), it's hard to find people, and often don't stock products/tools that are necessary for kinky hair. Never at WowBeauty. Easily the best beauty supply in the entire AV. You won't regret coming here. (Something that was very impressive to me that I haven't seen before, was that in every style of hair available for purchase, whether pre-stretched, twists, braids, bundles, wigs, anything, they always stock AT LEAST one brand of gray hair, which is not easy to find at other beauty supplies. I like wow I used to go to the one in reseda ca that wow was very good with giving your discount after a certain amount was spent. I literally got a discount maybe every three months. The wow in Palmdale I have literally been going there since they've opened and have received only one discount and I had to let them know. I've been giving the cashier my number every time i come here to track what I've spend to receive a discount at some point and they never give a discount. Why am I always giving you my number and never receive a discount. That's my only issue with the wow in Palmdale. As far as selection on hair, Wigs ,cosmetics and products It is amazing but I wouldnt buy another human hair wig from there again I spent $210 and the wig didn't even last 3 weeks it's a birds nest on the back of my neck. I have been coming here for a while. Usually they speak and very friendly and helpful. Today I walked in to the store around 1:45 pm. 3 workers (sienna and two African American girls) were in the front talking to each other when I walked by. Neither one of them decide to speak. So I said hello to you guys too. They giggled and laughed ( the taller African American girl behind the counter loudly, for it to be noticed). I went on looking for what I came in for. After being in the store for about 10 minutes, I found my item. Also in that 10 minutes, the smaller African American girl with braids comes and finally ask do I need help. I was hesitant to purchase it because the entrance interaction. When I get to the the taller A.A girl is real dry and nasty. So I asked for the managers name and number. She asked may she ask why, I told her just because. And she said well no. So then she said well my manager is rt here pointing at sienna. So sienna told me the manger name is Michael. And I asked her for the number. I told her that I wanted to speak to him because they was rude for not speaking and the girl next to her attitude. Sienna then tears up the paper she was writing the number on and tell me to leave the store. Between me, my mom and aunt- we spend lots of money there and have never encountered anything of such. And there true personalities came out when asking for a manager. This needs to be corrected, if you want ppl to continue to purchase. read more
