This review is for Kim at Impulse inside of Macy's. I am a regular customer at Estee Lauder, MAC and Benefit inside of Macys they all know me by name because I consider myself a hybrid at the makeup counters. Just recently I went to impulse beauty inside of Macys I was reluctant because I can't stand the girls at Sephora that are rude, unprofessional, no customer service skills and best part they have unbleached eye shadow. I went to impulse for the first time 2 weeks ago. I met Kim who helped me pick out a foundation and powder from the Tarte line of cosmetics. Not only was she patient, nice, kind, friendly and professional at no time during our encounter did I feel pressured to purchase any product. After she matched my foundation she offered samples instead I told her I trusted her judgement and would purchase her recommendations. 150.00 later I can't tell you how happy I am with the product I purchased from Kim at impulse that day. The icing on the cake was 3 days later I got a call from her making sure I was satisfied with her product. I will never again step foot in J.C Penny as long as I have Kim at impulse inside of Macys. I highly recommend her as well as this makeup chain!!! read more

I love going to Macy's! They have the best deals. The cosmetics area is my favorite. I do my eyebrows at the benefit counter and everyone is super friendly and helpful everytime I go in. My go to counter is Clinique, there is always some one there to answer all my questions, all the girls are knowledgeable and sweet. It isn't much different than any other department store at the AV Mall, other than the Macy's store logo on the front door. Normally I am here on the weekend and it is the most miserable experience of my life... it is crowded, the selection is limited and all the inventory is picked over and scattered everywhere. I came in on a Tuesday to find a pair of jeans... a very specific pair of jeans that I have had a difficult time finding in other department stores anywhere else for the past few months. Jackpot. Total jackpot. This score was quickly diminished when I went to pick up an item at the MAC counter that I know exists... but apparently only in full size MAC stores. Wha?? I'm not driving an hour for 3 oz. of product. Forget that noise. I was happy to stumble across a few other items (like Clairsonic replacement heads) and some nice things at Benefit... other than that - on the whole, the store is just okay. Don't expect too much. I was definitely satisfied with the customer service, though... at every single department I mingled through, I was wished a "good morning" and "how are you today". Quite pleasant. Will definitely come back for items I need last minute and can't order online or drive to get... but will do so mid-week. Tuesday mornings seem perfect! read more

This place stinks, literally it smells like diarrhea. We walked in to the store and our smelling holes were blindsided by a sucker punch of putrefied baby diaper deposits. It's as if a baby had projectile diarrhea and blasted the entire mens section. This is not a joke. The smell was so strong our groups eyes were watering and we were dry heaving as we sprinted towards the mall opening. I am not sure if this is indicative of the food they serve in the mall, but I didn't stick around to find out. I can't believe the workers did nothing about this. read more

They simply do not carry enough inventory in stock, 3 shoes, $300 sale, no size in stock. Went to Dillard's, same items were in stock.

just got off the phone with "customer service" and I'm not happy to say the least. I went in a few weeks ago to check out a "door buster" deal- a christmas tree . I wanted to see the tree but the Palmdale store doesn't carry them , but the sales associate told me I could buy it and have it shipped free to my house. It was a great deal and free delivery -too good to be true , and it was! The tree was scheduled to be delivered 11/25 , so when it hasn't shown up on the 29th , I call to see where it is. The customer service person is almost impossible to understand, and won't give me a answer that makes any sense, about where the tree is , except that that deal is over and he will have to cancel my order, and refund my money. The only explanation he would give me was that the tree was "lost in shipping". How would he know that , and were they going to notify me , or just have me wait forever?I'm guessing that they had a limited number of trees, and even though I bought mine the day before the official sale , they didn't have anymore , and never sent it out. It was a really good deal - a $350.00 tree for $99, and now all the sales are over on trees. Please be honest with customers , we don"t fall for your bogus scripts you train your "Customer Service" to recite . read more

After waiting for about 45 minutes in the men's shoe section with several employees walking by without acknowledging me, I went into their stock room to see if there was anybody back there that could help me. There was nobody back there, but the shoes I was looking for were right in front of me so I brought them out to try them on. One of the managers, Vern, came over and told me that I was not allowed in their stock room and that I should never go in there again. After explaining to her that I had been waiting for almost an hour, she said the same thing. So I told her I wouldn't shop there again, and she responded by saying "Good, don't shop here." She was very rude and disrespectful. I walked away from a sale because of the disrespectful management and terrible customer service. Instead I went to JCPenney's where I was very pleased with my purchase and customer service. read more

I only come to Macy's a few times a year but every time I do show I seem to run into the same girl! Natalie. She's so into her work, if I need to find something from a different rack she is always so delighted to help. But it seems now is she isn't working in the clothing departments but in the beauty department where she should be. I had my cousin do a make over with her and she was so happy with the outcome. I recommend all fresh faces to go to benefit cosmetics and have a makeover. read more

This macys store is a joke the only employes that know what they are doing are the ones who got relocated from main stores.. The new employes here are a joke. They cant do their job right and arent trained properly. They all have lack of knowlegde in sales and merchandising. They dont know how to greet customers. Everytime i go there employes are always gossiping and arent quiet professional. I understand this location is a trail store but its not up to actual macys standards. I feel sorry for the actual hardworking employes that do their job correctly. This location is so annoying that i wouldnt mind even driving to the valley to go shopping. Wish they would hire better staff because its just not working for them read more

I love this store!!! I am very lucky to shop from the same Macy's representative, everytime I need to get a gift for my wife, she knows exactly what I am looking for and knows exactly where it is, very knowledgeable!!! an asset to Macy's, my wife buys from them as well, we are a little old but hip, so she and I buy for her from the juniors department and the representative Marina is very helpful, also there's an enterence to macy's from the juniors department which is very convenient, so you dont have to go to the whole mall to go to the junior department at Macy's. We used to shop at the valencia mall but not anymore! read more

Very poor customer service at this store. Two employees at the register while I was in line, one discussing why she almost didn't come to work that day due to hot flashes the night before. More recently, my son returned a jacket and the manager acted like she was refunding the money out of her own pocket. Will no longer shop this store. read more

Well, when Macys first opened I was really exited! Finally, something high end is finally here in Palmdale. The first few weeks I found some decent clothing for myself but absolutely nothing for my husband. Their middle aged men's dept. was lacking! Now, Macys women's clothing has become rather limited as well. A lot of "low end" looking clothes litter the floor. The only dept. that they seem to be paying attention to is their "Ryan Seacrest" looking dept. for young, very slim boys.(not my son's taste either by the way) Where is the high end clothing for us middle aged women and men? And where are the larger sizes of upscale clothing (Men/Women/Young men/Young women) for those of us who aren't so skinny! Did anyone bother to take a look at the "size" of the people who do most of the shopping for their families? There are lots of us who are not a size 14 or below and we like nice clothing as well. If I go into a store I expect to be able to find clothing for my entire family, not just the skinny people in the family. Also, what's the problem with carrying "heated blankets" in Palmdale where it gets below 25 degrees at night? I'm not talking about the cheap Sunbeam heated blankets I can buy at Sears or JC Penny's either. I checked with the store all month for a heated blanket. Nothing! I finally went to Macys in the Valley to buy a blanket. What's the use of opening up a Macy's in Palmdale if you're not going to be what I call a "Real" Macys? I consider Palmdale's Macys to be a "want-a-be" but doesn't quite make the grade. If anyone in their marketing dept. really wants this Macys to succeed, please listen to the people who shop Macys or would like to shop Macys but don't due to their low end to no inventory of the "right products".
