Traci in the fragrance department was amazing. My wife and I went to go return some shoes and she wanted to check out some perfumes. We were walking around when Traci asked if we needed any assistance. We said we did and she stopped what she was doing to help us. She brought over 10 different bottles for my wife to smell. I work in sales so I know a sales pitch when I see one. But after messing around with Traci and me being the smart a$$ I am she started cracking some jokes back to me which made me and my wife laugh. She was so amazing and we went from trying to buy some perfume to having a small talk about marriage and life. Then when we finally settled on which one my wife wants I asked the price and she did not hesitate to mess with me one more time and throw out a ridiculous number to where my jaw drop. I almost believed her until she told me the actual price and I was laughing because she had to throw one more at me. It was an amazing experience there compared to all the other times I had visited. Well, how annoying to get a birthday coupon- look around for an hour, find somethings only to get to the register and be told of all the strings attached to the coupon. SO I got nothing. NOW to be fair, I have bought a few things from them before, over $100 worth of stuff- and I also have zero in my club account showing that I am a customer. This review is specifically for their Macy's credit cards and website. As a Macy's credit card holder and regular shopper it's beyond frustrating they don't link credit cards to their user/customer site. Within the last year I kept receiving messages when I logged on that read ADD YOUR MACY'S CARD. I called to inquire if this was legitimate or was their site being hacked. The answer no, the user cards are not automatically linked to their site. I went through the process of doing so via telephone. The customer service representatives sound foreign and the telephone connection sounds as if you're calling out of Country. By October 2020, I am unable to access my credit card account via their site. Again receiving messages to ADD YOUR MACY'S CREDIT CARD. If I lost my card and received a new one, it would make sense, if the card expired and a new card was issued it might make sense. Neither are the case. Also, I have excellent credit history and a high FICO score, they issued a card with a Variable Interest Rate of 25.24%. Effective 11/17/2020, $40.00 LATE FEE, $40.00 RETURNED PAYMENT FEE. They also charge A MINIMUM INTEREST CHARGE FEE of $2.00! I buy and pay the full balance by the due date to avoid their charges. read more

Horrible customer service. Placed an order on 1/8/2023 received an email they received my order and that I would receive an email that would state once order was processed. I never received another email. I finally got a customer service representative on the phone and I was told my order was canceled. I asked why and they did not know why. Just that it was canceled. I asked why I never received an email regarding cancellation, they had no idea why. Then I was told I can reorder items. I asked to speak with someone else, the person I was speaking to was useless and was talking in circles. I was put on hold non one ever came back on the phone. Shopping experience at Macy's use to be great, clean, everything displayed nicely on hangers. You're buying new clothes, sometime a whole new wardrobe and want the clothes to represent you. the years of this good experience at Macy's has gone. Now when you go into a Macy's you feel like you're at a garage sale, rack after rack the clothes are on the floor, thrown on top of the racks in piles and no personal to even voice your concern. think about it, what you buy may have spent hours or days on the floor being stepped on and the price tag is still $100+ per item. This isn't what represents me, it's actually sad that you can get a better experience at a small store in the mall or Target or Kohls. No more Macy's for me or my family, see ya! read more

Wow, I really don't like shopping. Coming here reminds me why. I was trying to find a few different items early Sunday when they first opened. What a disaster. This store is such a mess. Plenty of employees standing around chatting so it's not lack of people who are working . I couldn't believe how messy and disorganized this store was. Not even at Christmas time have I seen such a mess. The people there were not helpful, but when I went to the register they were nice enough. I went to get about 10 different items only ended up walking out with 2. What a waste of my time. I rather drive further to a clean organized Macy's then deal with that clutter. The manager in Fashion Island store in the sun glasses department (Jessica) was so mean, I wanted to return a pair of Valentino sun glasses that I bought and wanted to return them (the glasses were not even worn once) they were as is in the same case and bag that I got them when purchased. She gave me a nasty attitude and refused to return them. I took them to the Macy's at Victoria Gardens and returned them with no questions asked and a "Happy to Help you + a smile". I have always liked Macy's. For me, it's a middle ground in prices and it also offer clothing that's more appealing to me. Nordstrom is high end, but I always find that their design is geared toward a more mature audience. Some other stores offer very fashionable and hip clothing that'll probably make me look young and cool, but their quality is subpar, if not flimsy. Macy's offers a good balance. This particular Macy's is located on the Food Court end of the Tyler Galleria. If you enter through Tyler, you'll make a quick right and it is just right next to the Cheesecake Factory. This is a smaller Macy's and is what I call an "all-in-one" store; that is, everything is inside this store. In some other larger mall locations, there are 2 Macy's - men's/children/home items are in a separate store. The selections in this store is somewhat more limited compared to some of the bigger Macy's. Although this particular location is not my favorite store, I often come here because of convenience and I usually find everything that I'm looking for. So all is good! Store layout is cool, easy to find stuff, and service is comparable to that of similar department stores. Contemporary. Hip. (Well, almost). Good quality. Middle ground prices. I was given two sweaters as Christmas gifts, the sizes were wrong.I went down to Macy's at the Tyler Mall and I trying to buy something with the money of the exchange. The sales person said I could not, so I had to pay cash for my new purchase even with the receipt Friend had given me for the sweaters. She said I would have to get a gift certificate even with the receipt that I had with my friends Information and it would be 6 to 8 weeks before I got a refund in a gift certificate. Satisfying something as a Christmas present I'll be buying something on the first day of spring ridiculous! What hell type of customer service is that?!!! I've never heard of such a thing! I had the receipt! Later I went to the shoe department and ordered Ralph Lauren riding boots, the salesgirl ordered the wrong ones even after calling her and saying I think you ordered the wrong boots. She assured me and said she ordered the right ones. when I went to go pick them up and waited in line for about 40 minutes in customer service they were the wrong ones! I was told to get back in line wait after I waited there for 40 to 45 minutes notice they were the wrong ones and I'm told to go back into the freaking line again instead of just taking care of the issue.i finally get through the line and I'm told they didn't have my boots anymore! I called Vietnam Customer Service...ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!!! Now, it's right after Christmas I told them I just wanted to do a direct exchange. They said they could not Until my boots that were ordered incorrectly are received by Macy's and then they'll send out the correct boots. Well they've been sold out for three weeks and there's only two pair left so what are the odds of me getting my boots because somebody made an error twice. I will never shop there again after I go and return my 8 1/2 size of boots that they ordered incorrectly for the second time! They act like they're doing you a favor and you have to just sit and wait patiently for the spring before you get you refund and also lets see if they what are the boots they were supposed to that have been sold out for 3 to 4 weeks. I worked in customer service and I can't believe that this place could possibly stay in business with the way they treat their customers especially during the holidays!!! I ordered an item in a Petite size almost two weeks ago and I finally got an email a few days ago that my online order was ready to pick up. The email told me my last day to pick up was March 9. Today is March 5. I get an email today on March 5 that my PP has been refunded and the order was cancelled. WHAT in the heck?! If I have four more days to pick up the order, why is my order cancelled???? I called and got routed to some random call center who said we can send you a comparable cheaper item. I told him I want it in the size I ordered PM. He tells me I can send you a extra small or small. I told him I need petite because I'm under 5'4". I asked him again why my original order got cancelled and refunded when I was intending to go pick it up before March 9. He couldn't give me an answer, but just said my item is cancelled and I was already refunded. I told him Nordstrom doesn't do this bait and switch. No wonder why Macy's is shutting down many of their stores. I'll just stick to Nordstrom for my department store needs. read more

Honesty I don't see how this place stays in business. The customer service line for returns, on-line orders is a joke! They have one person working the counter and 7 people waiting in line. I was the second person in line and waited 30 minutes to return my item. I WANT TO SPECIFICALLY MENTION THE MANAGER BY THE NAME OF "DARLENA" I have been shopping here a while and have seen this manager multiple times scream at the top of her lungs to employees. SHE IS SO DISRESPECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL. I do not know how she has not been FIRED. She should have been fired the day I encountered that as a customer. I recently was shopping by Men's fragrance and clothing area and heard her harassing and yelling at the top of her lungs with violent body language at an employee who was taller with dirty blonde hair. How is the store manager and HR even tolerating that? Seeing this just completely baffled me that I had to write about it. I don't even work there, and I feel horrible for those employees. Not to mention I had a horrible experience with an employee by the name of "NORMA" She forced my daughter to open a Macy's credit card when I told her clearly I did not want her to open one and then proceeded to save my daughters information on the register.
