Last Wednesday, my friend and I decided to go valentine's day shopping, and we stopped by Macy's. Worst idea. We stood looking at the makeup on the counters and the WHOLE time the employees were surrounding us as if we were thieves. They kept on jumping in our conversation. This place is always a mess. I came in today with my boyfriend and we headed downstairs for the men's clothes. The cologne was so overwhelming it was hard to be down there. On top of that the only two people I could find to help us didn't really help. We had asked for short sleeve button ups that were on the nicer side and they just told us they were out of season. After reexplaining they told us a few brand names to look at. We were sent to those sections twice and didn't find a thing. When we asked a third time we told him maybe we were confused because we didn't see anything and he did offer to walk us there. All he said was "they are over there". We left and decided to visit the Macy's in DOCO because we've had positive experiences there. On our way out we stopped to look at the clearance shoes. There was barely any space between the racks and shoes were all over the place. There were way to many people there as well. read more

I wanted a suit for myself in a plus size and I found one. I love the suit but I wish their selection was wider, a lot of their best items were not to be found in my size. The person helping me (I forget her name) was an absolute gem. She helped me to narrow down my search to exactly what I was looking for and checked in on me in the dressing room to let me know her shift was ended and that another person was going to take me the rest of the way. Seriously great customer service and the suit we picked out for me looks great on me. Increase the selection a bit more and I will be the happiest camper alive! read more

Terrible customer service!!! I went to buy my eye cream at the Clinique counter today, one of the girls that works there was having a conversation with another lady (in Spanish) when I showed up. I stood there and stood there and ten minutes later I was still standing there while she carried on a conversation with this lady about some sort of "chisme" (Spanish slang for gossip) How do I know it was chisme?? I speak Spanish!!! She never even acknowledge me, a Hello, be right with you... NOTHING!!!! To my surprise I found some good Christmas presents for my husband & Brother-in-law & then I went to the girls dept & found cute outfits for 50% for my daughters & niece, then to make it even better the clerk at the register let me use his $10 off coupon since I forgot mine in the car. We came to the Chanel counter to make an exchange and I asked the lady if they had a sample for their mascara and her response, "yes, but we are saving it for our events" okay! Well, good to know. A great store with decent custom service, great sales, and variety of clothing. The only downside would be that they do not have a home store at this location. You can really save by getting a Macy's card, because they offer specials for card members. Overall a great place to shop for yourself or someone else. read more

Most of the people that I have ever come across that work here have been extremely rude! The only exceptions have been the cosmetic counter girls or the jewelry salesmen when they know that they are going to make a sale. If they know that they are going to make a sale, then they are basically up your butt until you hand over a payment. read more

I love this Macy's location. It's not the hugest (compared to the Galleria) but it's much bigger than the Sunrise location and has tons of variety. Inside you can find their usual departments -- Jewelry, Women's, Men's, Children's, various perfume and makeup counters, etc. I also like their customer service. If you ever need to return something for a legitimate reason, they don't question you or give you a hard time. read more

This is for the Lancome counter specifically. I'm not usually over impressed by department stores, but today was an exception. I went to test out some makeup and was greeted by Xonya (I could be spelling it wrong, but it is close to that). She was the best. I was upfront and told her I wasn't buying anything today, that I would be back after I wore the makeup for a few days. She didn't treat me any different, but she was friendly and suggested quite a few products but was not pushy. She sent me home with a few samples to try and I felt like I was chatting with a friend who really cared instead of the usuals at makeup counters who look like they got ready for the runway before coming to Macy's for the day. You really shouldnt put a new employee on their first day alone at the register!!! I was the second person in line, waited at least 10-15 minutes for the girl to figure out what she needed to do with the lady in front of me. Then I bought one item, paying cash, and she couldnt figure out how to process my CASH payment!!! She looked around for help, nobody in sight, so she just stood there apologizing because it was her first day. No supervision for this girl who clearly couldnt even process a simple cash transaction. Come on now! For the price I pay to shop here, give me someone who is trained!!! read more

i really dont know what it is with Macy's lately. everytime i go i tend to get poor customer service from whatever department i'm at. so on my hunt for men's dress shoes on february 13th for a valentines day gift. bad customer service from Nordstrom lead me to Macy's. I should start off by saying that the only reason i actually purchased at Macy's was because i was desperate since ALDO was closed. so i arrive to the lower level of Macy's where the men's department is and i head over to the shoes section. im looking around and theres only one person there, the cashier. from her register she asks "do you need any help?" well jeez, yes can you at least approach me. so when i find the shoes, i have to walk to the register to hand her the shoes i want and ask for the size. while shes finding the shoe size im looking around and i see that she comes out with a box and heads right over the register and says "theyre ready". um hello?? can you bring me the box to open over here? wth. i know i wasnt going to try them on but im pretty sure the shoes are supposed to be handed wherever the customer is. whatever, i walk to the register and shes already ringing me up without me even seeing the shoes. so i take my time looking at the shoes debating if i should even purchase them because of the poor customer service. i think about going back to Nordstrom but im pretty sure it would have recieved the same customer service. i regret buying the shoes from there but i feel as though i didnt have another choice, i didnt want to go to sears or jc penny although im sure i would have gotten better customer service there, just not good quality shoes. overall, i feel as though Macy's isnt what it used to be anymore, the employees dont really care about customer service anymore, just their profit. read more

This is for the Estee Lauder counter at Macy's. I usually use Lancome, but Estee was doing a gift with purchase, so I thought I would check them out. From the moment I walked up, I felt completely welcome. Monique was the friendliest sales person I have ever had. She listened to what I was looking for, took the time to try different shades of makeup on, and did not pressure me to buy anything. I will definitely be back. Went there during their Friends and Family event. We shopped in the shoe department. They now have a new system, not sure how long the systems been in place, but they can now scan the shoe and it will tell them if they have your size in stock. If they do they put it through there little handheld device and one of the "Shoe backs" or "shoe elves" pulls the shoe and then they bring them out to you. Anyhow the lady that helped us was very nice. read more

I couldn't find my credit card after picking out my INC clothes and getting them rung up. The very kind and competent clerk who is not full time in that department put my clothes on hold with my suspended receipt. When I came back that same afternoon all my clothes were gone...they had been put back by the regular clerks who work there all the time. They admitted it to the nice competent clerk and I heard them. Not only do they not know Macy's normal policies but this is the third time this has happened to me in that department here. I just left the clothes and am going to find a new brand. Macy's has lost my business now. read more

REVIEW for SHISEIDO COSMETICS LADY The Shiseido Counter Lady Motoko is amazing. I get annoyed with Department store customer service. There is such high turnover and people working there don't have a clue about what they are selling. Shiseido is a skincare/cosmetics line that is over 100 years old from Japan. It is a wealth of information and Motoko knows it. When I go in with a interest in a new product, or unhappiness with a current one, she resolves it with such grace and understanding. Even if it is not convenient to my schedule, I am only going to buy products from her. read more

I went to the Dior make up counter last week to purchase waterproof mascara. I walked up to the counter knowing exactly what I wanted. A tall beautiful woman with a British accent asked what I was looking for, I told her and she said I'll help you over here, now mind you she has zero customer service skills, she hasn't said a word to me other than what are you looking for. So I go to the other counter and she comes with the mascara, then she walks back to the other counter, comes back and starts reading the mascara box. I ask her if she's sure that's waterproof and she shoots me a look like I'm stupid and says yes. Guess what? The mascara wasn't waterproof. Please Macy's hire people who know your products, can at least act like they like people and maybe the most important that they can read. read more

I had the best experience. I had to get a pair of heels so I went to Macy's. I was helped by a very nice guy named Sigi. He was so patient and listened to my needs. He promised me that he will find me the perfect pair of shoes. I was very picky because I was looking for a comfortable pair that i can dance in all night. I was going to a bday party the next day. Best Estee Lauder counter around!! Friendly customer service which is so rare these days.

I called to inquire about a strapless bra and was put on hold for quite a long time only to be told by the sales clerk when she came back that they don't have that bra size and they don't make them in my size! I quickly corrected her and told her that the size of bra that I'm looking for is something that Macy's sells but when I went to the Downtown Sac Macy's they were out of stock. She was far from helpful and gave out bad information. I'm glad that I'm an informed consumer. read more

After a few negative encounters, Macy's will be scratched off my list indefinitely of potential places to shop for the following reasons: 1. Very long wait time (25 minutes) in line, lack of associates on floor during sales. 2. Poor handling of customer service in regard to their credit card. What ever you do don't be more than 30 days late on a payment! Better yet don't sign up for one in the first place! 3. Limit styles, never able to find my size, poor quality, overpriced merchandise and lack of customer appreciation. There's a reason many department stores are doing poorly and it's not just because of the economy. read more

Went into the Fine Jewelry department to purchase a wedding ring for my fiance. Was told the item had no SKU#, and would have to be researched. Was asked to return the following day, and that everything would be worked out by then. Returned the following day, to discover nothing had been worked on, was interogated by another department manager about why we were there. Was asked to follow up on Monday and that everything would be handled. Placed a phone call on Monday to check the status, nothing had been worked on again. Was told there was no time frame or guarentee they could find the information. At this point my fiance and I have spoken to two associates, a department manger, and the store manager. My wedding is in three days. read more

Lousy customer service!!!! I went to Macy's at Arden today to get some Chanel foundation. Seeing that the doors were all closed and covered with a screen, I thought Macy's closed down. But there was a note on one of them that said something like, "Pardon for our appearance during our construction. " then something about going around the corner to the left and using that door. I drove around for 20 minutes going around and around trying to find the door they were talking about. Then I saw an opened door but around the right so I went inside with my kids, one in my arms. The lights were off, but I thought that's how they're going to set it during their construction period. But apparently I walked in on their employee meeting where everyone was standing around and someone was talking. They turned around and one of them walked toward me, totally staring down at me seeing me and my boys. You would think I interrupted their cult meeting. No smile, no "how can I help you?" But "you walked through our employee door." I tried to explain to her that all the doors were closed (I thought due to the construction). Then she gave a snappy answer,"That's because we're not open yet." I thought they open at 9, but they open at 11 and it was 10 to 11. So she walked me out and closed the door. I'm so glad I did not apologize. Considering that the screen covered the entire door, the note should have added their hours so there's no confusion. A lot of other customers looked confused too as I saw them walking around. If she didn't give a stare down, it wouldn't have been that bad. read more

If you do get an interview, the interviewer will not even work in the department you applied to. Another time, I was told there were not any open positions for the job I applied to. If only there was a lower rating. Unfortunately I write this about a company which I believed to have class. This is the complaint I sent to Macy's Arden fair. "On Monday the 22 of June 2015 I walked in to buy a clinique set for 66 dollars. I picked up the product which was in a bag and continued to walk around your store, however it was a short walk because I was accosted from behind by a female employee in a white coat from the clinique counter . She asked me , very loudly if she could help me. I replied yes I was going to purchase the product.but she held her hand out for the product. I gave it to her and she asked if I would like her to ring it up, I said no I am still looking. This may not look like much in writing but I felt I was apprehended for trying to steal from your store in front of other guests, after her tone and with my disgust for her professionalism , I told her to put it back on the display. Never have I experienced the shame of stealing something without even thinking about it. I can say today is that day. I will never shop at this store and I question whether or not I will any of them. I am left feeling violated and ashamed of something I wanted to buy. I am disgusted, I can say no more. .............................................................. What I didn't mention: Just to note this product was in the walkway in reach and fully accessible to guests. I believed I could walk around and look at the perfume counter with the intent of buying the products I had found. Also I received a prompt response from the manager of the store. As far as being pleased with prompt response I am very. This is where my pleasantness ends. I cannot tell anyone listening how this is #1 worst service and feeling I have ever felt from someone in a customer service position. This is much more than a customer retention problem and I hope they realize this is McDonald's service from a company that is suppose to have class and hold themselves above the rest. read more
