They are black with a small red bow on the outside of each shoe and high enough to attract attention but short enough to walk fast away from attention I might not want. The women's dept. for clothing is catered to an older crowd. The cute stuff for women in their 20's and 30's is priced high ($70-300 for tops, jeans, etc). Very cute jewelry though. Don't buy full priced. Macys has sales almost every other week and you can get $100 pieces for $10. Men's dept. has really good deals. Definitely look at the sales racks. This particular Macys is changing up the layout of their brands and a lot of good men's brands are on clearance racks. Calvin Klein and DKNY suit jackets and slacks for $9 each for example. One tip: Because they can't possibly label everything the day before a sale, their holiday sale prices usually start a couple days before the holiday. Go for men's sweaters and ties after the holidays. Cashmere $20, high end ties $11 down from $60. Go here for the sales racks, not full priced. ALSO!!!.. Ask the Employees if there are any good items they've seen that are marked really low. They know what's sitting on a crammed rack that is marked down like crazy. The times I've asked I've ended up with a Tommy Hilfiger sport coat for $7, Polo sweater for $9, a Polo leather belt for $6, Lacoste polos for $11, Marc Ecko and Perry Ellis jeans for $13, a scarf for $3... the list goes on. read more

This is one of the better Macy's that I have visited for my personal taste in men's clothing. It does not top the Macy's in Union Square/San Francisco but it works for me. Teresa in the lower level men's department is always helpful. read more

Went to Macy's to buy a suit this am. I received the BEST costumer service from Lewis. He was working between the men's department and shoe department. It's very refreshing to see someone that truly cares about the costumer and followed through on details. He was so helpful. I sure hope Macy's realizes what a great employee they have working for there company. read more

On Monday, March 5, 2012, I visited your store with intent on buying things on my day off from work. I normally do not shop here and I do not live in the area. So I went out of my way to come here. I entered the store, did not receive a friendly greeting from any of the ten people with Macys attire and I managed to walk by all of them without anyone trying to help me. I went to the purse section and saw three employees involved in a conversation and a holy ten minutes laters after scanning the Michael Kors collection only then did I receive someone asking me if I needed help. I said no, then she proceeded on my way. I left when into the mall with my boyfriend and later on came back to the shoe department. Because of the sale, I wanted to take advantage of it. I planned on buying two or more pairs of shoes but I had to try them on. A filipina saleswoman helped me originally and was very friendly and helped me get the shoes I liked and the sizes. Three of the five pairs didn't fit and I wanted to get new sizes. My associate kept on getting busy with other customers. She checked on me once before but I was still trying shoes on. She ended up getting stuck at the register with helping other customers. Three other associates passed by my boyfriend and myself. None of them offered any help. Coming from a sales background, I understand the frustration, but I've been waiting for almost 20 minutes at this point and I received no help. One man in a grey suit and glasses asked if we needed help but my boyfriend, angered and irritated at this point, responded with an answer with a tone that reflected his emotions saying that we've only been waiting an hour for our sales associate. The employee responded back with a rude response with an I don't care attitude and that you will have to wait. Honestly, that is just unacceptable. I am a paying customer who works full time and is very understanding, but the customer service that I received at this Macys was appalling. I have been in retail for a very long time, I was very patient but being treated like I don't know anything and thinking that I have all the time in the world is really unacceptable. I suggest you train your sales associates better or consider firing the ones who thinks it's ok to treat customers like that. I was so disgusted that I left and I didn't want to talk to the manager. Extremely sad and dissatisfied I will be posting my review on Yelp and do not expect me to come back to this Macys. read more

Really disappointed with Macys lately the show department had always been great but lately extremely rude I have been helped by the manager a few times and he has a really snippy rude attitude no matter what u ask him he talks poorly to the rest of the shoe department and costumers aren't the exception I hAve taken my business to Nordstrom where the shoe department is so much friendlier, another poor experience I bought a watch for my boyfriends birthday and ask the gal who sold it to me to make sure it was new I didn't want the display she assured me a hundred times it was perfect so I believed her long story short the watch was flaky and dirty and already used and it was extremely upsetting how could the policy would be to return only something unworn and Macys sell me this I brought back the next day and exchanged it I was really upset same gal was there and she said I have seen people try on and on for months just thought it was clean ? Ya had my bf not pick out another watch there I would of went somewhere else , and the makeup impulse department needs some clean up all the girls are rude I will be comming back to catch her name and file a serious complain I will not have another lipstick snatched out of my hand because " that's not a tester" get a grip on your anger and attitude because I will be comming in to talk to a manager , Macy's step up your costumer service or you will be loosing many more costumers read more

I wish I could leave MORE stars!! I walked in carrying a box of heavy glass mugs which we received in the mail as a gift. Unfortunately, one of the mugs was broken so I had to exchange them. When I asked an employee where I needed to go, he not only took the time to WALK me where I needed to be but immediately took the box of mugs and carried them for me. I believe his name was Curtis- he was the manager of the cosmetics department. The entire interaction with him was wonderful- he smiled, joked and actually seemed to be enjoying work! It's so rare to find interactions like this anymore. I wish I could do more to promote this guy- he was amazing. If I need ANYTHING in the future from Macy's, I will be looking for Curtis to assist!! read more

The slooooweeeest customer service area I've ever experienced. Went to pick up some online orders. Took more than 30 minutes for the entire process to be completed. Please have more people to help her! We don't have all day to wait around. In addition, after waiting this long, they also informed me that they lost one of my online orders and now the item is out of stock. Thanks Macy's for the wonderful experience. This macys is the worst macys I have ever been to. This macys is disgusting. They have the worst customer service ever in EVERY department. I was in the chanel counter and the girl that assisted me was extreamly rude and I couldnt belive it. Unfortunately I went back to this macys and no one in the chanel counter approached me so I didnt get to buy what I needed. The shoe dep had 4 employees gathered up and when I asked for help their response was that they were only cashiers so they couldnt help me find the shoes I needed... like WTF are you serious! I went to the frangance dep and no one assisted me once again, I called someone and her service was poor. I also went to the juniors department to ask if they had backbacks the girl who had a mustache was very rude and said they didnt have any backpacks but as i left the store I found a backpack. This place is rididculous like I could not belive how horrible it was I will never go there again and I am a platinum macys cardholder, i was even a macys employee before and i remember our goal was to provide outstanding costumer service something the arden mall macys employees did not learn about. Bought my husband an expensive watch for his bday. He didn't love it so we went to return it. We have two toddlers so going to the mall is work! We waited past the 30 day return policy and he had removed the string tag from the clasp. They would not help us out, they said that they could not help us in any way, and recommended that I sell it on eBay. Wth! I easily tied the tag back on the watch clasp and took it to macys in Roseville. With no problems or attitude I was given a full refund. read more

Went to Macy's a couple hours ago in the mens department upstairs & just purchased a polo hat . There was only 1 dude named Davidson at the register so the line was a little crazy. Of course him being the only person, it's not expected to be hella fast customer service . So many customers in line were impatient & rude looking that I felt bad for him . I also wanted to try on one of the polo jackets that were being locked & asked security + assistants for it to be open & they said somebody is coming soon but I waited over 40 mins & they never came . I gave up waiting & went to purchase my polo hat , luckily I asked Davidson at the register about it & he was soon to help. I really appreciated his service . The 5 stars I'm giving is strictly just for Davidson since other assistants + security had me wait over 40 mins & never came to help even though they said "they said they're on their way" . read more

Once upon a time, Macy's was a pretty hip department store. Those days are gone because this is now the era of Jessica Simpson, whose line Macy's carries extensively. The shoes department is filled with tacky selections (think big honking gems on platform sandals--tribute to the Spice Girls?), and the sales rack seems like it's been through a tornado. It seems that no one even bothers to clean up the place anymore. Customers can fling a shoe somewhere, come back next week, and it'll probably still be there. This is where shoes go to die. The upstairs is like some maze. The object? To get the hell out. In your search for the escalator, you'll be passing by rows and rows of garments that look like they belong on one of those Real Housewives women. Leopard chemises. Box-y blazers. The same pair of khaki pants over and over again. Knock-off Pucci. Oy! The jewelry department is ridiculous. Lots of overpriced baubles that look like they should be in Forever 21. Don't even bother going to the men's section down in the basement area. When I bought a pair of sunglasses for a Father's Day gift, the SA plopped the $175 pair into a small plastic Macy's bag -- no case, no lens wipe, nothing. Just dropped it into the bag, where it landed with a bang against the counter. When I inquired about the case and box that should come with the sunglasses, the SA sighed (after all, I was taking precious time away from her texting duties), turned around, opened a drawer full of cases from all the brands they carried, took a brief glance without moving a single item, and said, "We don't have a case for it." She didn't even bother to shift some cases around to see if this deep cavern of a drawer had the one that belonged to the sunglasses I'd just bought. I'm sorry, but for a pair of $175 sunglasses, I expect a case and a lens cloth. Now they even carry Jessica Simpson sunglasses. What the--? The only department I do like here is the perfume section, which seems extensive and to be staffed by nice and competent people. Otherwise the place seems like an after-school hangout, where all the people happen to work here. You'll encounter lots of SAs texting, gabbing with each other, and blank stares when you ask a question. The handbag department is dismal with its collections of Dooney & Bourke, Michael by Michael Kors, and Lesportsac reject prints. There's always a huge sales bin in this section with leftover pieces no one has touched in months. With P. Diddy, Donald Trump, Usher, and Martha Stewart in the ads, you'd think Macy's would try to lift its image, selections, and customer service. Went to JC Penney to buy socks. Mediocre selection, so I left. I'm not normally a Macy's shopper but went in and immediately found what I wanted. That's not the reason for my review, however. I then wandered into mens shoes. I've always wanted black suede dress shoes and, bingo, there they were. Even THAT isn't the reason for this review. As I approached the register, I was helped by one of the nicest, most professional sales associates I've ever encountered. Her name was Charlene. Guys...you want to be well taken care of by someone who will make sure you get the best deal? That's Charlene. As I was preparing to leave with my black suede shoes, Charlene asks "are you sure there's nothing else I can do for you?" I laughed, telling her "only if you you can make a pair of these magically appear in dark brown too!" (none on display). "Oh honey," she says, disappearing into the back. I'll be damned if she didn't re-appear with brown ones too. Made my day (and the sale). Charlene ROCKS. I'll definitely be back. read more

Purchased a pair of $160 heels and wore one time for four hours. The metal rod of the heel completely wore through the heel cap. Abnormal - heels I've owned for years don't even have this wear yet. The manager of the shoe department told me to "take the shoes to the shoe repair shop across the street." I had the shoes in my possession for a single week, there is no reason I should have to pay additional $ to repair what is supposed to be a quality product accompanied by a larger price tag. Was pretty disappointed in the level of customer service I received during this trip. I told her I didn't even want my money back, I wanted to leave with a quality shoe that wasn't going to be unwearable and nonfunctional after a handful of wears. Don't think I'll be purchasing shoes from this location anymore. Definitely feel more comfortable spending the money at a location who understands shoe durability/quality more thoroughly read more

Horrible customer service. The final straw is when they forgot to take the security magnet off of a shirt I bought. I tried to call them to let them know that I was coming in return the item because of the security magnet and didn't get anywhere on the phone. read more

I would give them a negative number of stars if it were possible! I purchased an expensive diamond ring from this store for my 25th wedding anniversary. One of the three major stones fell out in less than 20 months of wear. When I went back to the store I was told by the fine jewelry manager and the store manager that they were 'sorry', but they would not repair the ring or give me a refund. Macy's is NOT the store with the excellent quality and customer service that in once was! I'm shredding my card and will NEVER shop at another Macy's again. read more

I have a $300 gift certificate from Christmas I can't manage to spend here! What a messy, disorganized store. Sales staff couldn't find anything. Computer says they have 12 of a certain item but they can't find a single one. Saturday May 9th inside store temp about 95 degrees. Too hot to stay in store. The Estee Lauder counter in Macy's is AWESOME!!! One employee, however ~ not so much. I arrived at the counter searching for a new shade of foundation as the drug store brands were always a MISS (made me look gray and ashy) and Miss M (I don't want to use her full name as to not cause her any embarrassment) offered to help me and asked if she could remove my current makeup to try the Estee Lauder brand ~ I asked how long it would take because I had to pick my daughter up in about an hour and she said it wouldn't take too long. I was a bit skeptical to allow a non-African American to help me pick a shade of foundation but figured 'hey if she works here she MUST know what she's doing' right? ... WRONG!!! Not only did she have to constantly ask for help from the African American women but she seemed to be a little irritated with me when I would ask other customers what they thought of her choice of foundation for me (that she INSISTED was perfect) and got a bit huffy when they ALL said 'no you look chalky' or 'she needs to blend it more'. I finally decided 'maybe I need to mix TWO foundations together to get a closer match and VOILA ~ perfect!!! Unfortunately, they were out of the second foundation but Miss M still wanted to me to purchase the OFF color that she originally chose (yes... the one that made me look chalky and ashy) still insisting that the shade was 'fine' for me. What is the point of purchasing a $40 bottle of foundation if I already know IT'S THE WRONG COLOR? When I told her I was not going to purchase it without the second shade... she CLEARLY was not happy and proceeded to say 'well I have to go because it's time for me to go and pick up my OWN daughter' (remember this is what I said to HER when I first arrived) ~ which pretty much let me know she was DONE with me. That's where Lori came in, she worked with me by calling other stores to see if they had the second foundation but she knew I may not have time to go to the other store because I had to pick up my daughter, so she offered me the option of having the foundation shipped to my home ~ perfect solution! I purchased the primary shade and Lori gave me a sample of the second shade PLUS they had a promo where if you spend a certain amount of money you received a free gift. I am in love with ALL of the items in my gift bag and will now purchase ALL of my Estee Lauder products from Ms. Lori ~ she also gave me some advice to help my daughter with her skincare. This was the FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE I have ever spent more than $10 on foundation but it was well worth it... Thanks Lori ... I am officially sold on Estee Lauder cosmetics and skincare! read more

Painstakingly slow, inefficient, and unhelpful! This lady was there in the women's section, and my wife walked up to her to check if they have alternate size. She asked my wife to stand (purchasing) in line....just to check for alternate sizes!! My wife was 3rd in line, but it took hell lot of time before her turn came. Worst customer service! Went to the Dior counter and was totally ignored by the sales people. No one said hello to me and the sales women behind the counter was helping a lady for the majority of the time I was patiently waiting... once she was done she grabbed her phone from the register and left. I turned around as another worker walked past and asked politely if there was someone that could help me she looked me up and down and said I don't know you'll have to go over there and ask someone. I know I look like I don't have a lot of money and I was trying to entertain my toddler while being ignored but still money is money and you are representing Macy's and the dior brand. So get over yourself and work for your damn money...I then asked her if she was serious and that's when Alyssa the security guard stepped in and told the woman I had been waiting for about an hour. My boyfriend and I went to this particular Macy's this last Sunday, 8/30/15. Unfortunately, he had received a call that his grandfather was on his deathbed and was likely to pass in the next 24 hours, so we were on the hunt for a new black suit for him. We were in the men's department, trying on jackets and struggling to find a good fit when we were approached by Lewis. He was very knowledgable about his inventory and about the different fits & styles that he had available. It only took two tries from Lewis to find the jacket that fit my boyfriend wonderfully! And of course, Lewis was able to set him up with the matching pants. We put the items on hold, went to other stores in the mall just to browse, but couldn't find a suit that fit as well as the one Lewis recommended anywhere else. Obviously, we returned to purchase it and my boyfriend spent about $350 on both pieces, half the price of what he had planned to spend. Although not an easy purchase considering the circumstance, Lewis made it very quick and easy to find what we were looking for. read more
