Something is very wrong with this Macys. First of all, it would have been dated and stale in the 1980s. It's old and shabby. The 1970's era parquet flooring is so old it buckles up in places and is literally coming up. The carpeting is old, dingy, and very dirty. While the merchandise is ok, its presentation is not. Throughout the store you find clothes strewn all over the place. There is no organization to anything. It's impossible to find your size because everything is so mislabeled and misplaced. There are carts full of piles of clothes that look like returns everywhere. On top of that, the few staff members just don't seem to care. They make no effort to help -- which explains why the store is so neglected. From the top to the bottom of this store, nobody seems to care. read more

Be careful to check the labels in and out of the product your are picking at the "Origins" counter. The assistant there was absent minded. She gave me the wrong product fist time after trying them on me. I had to return back to her the same day! Second time she said sorry and again gave me the wrong product just by reading the label on top and not checking the inside the packet. I call them next day morning and i say them i have been handed the wrong product twice is there any way they can mail me or something. The answer no, you have you buy again or come exchange at the counter!!! SORRY....... I had to go there today and yesterday for some nicer shirts, both times I went in I was soon greeted by two different guys who had nice smiles at first but after twenty seconds gave me the worst attitude ever. I love the UTC Macy's. The sales are good, the sales staff in ladies clothing are always nice to my 89 year old mother in a wheelchair. They help find sizes and are good about returns. We dont have a ton of money to pay for fancy store experiences, but we do like Lauren, Jones and Calvin, so Macy's works just great for our budget. Judy in bedding is just the best!! read more

Three stories full of crap. I've NEVER seen a more disgustingly dirty, messy pile of heap in a retail store. Ever. I actually tripped over clothes piled on the floor between rounders. It looked as if the store were going out of business, although there were no mark downs. Just to kill time I wandered through this store twice in the past month. The first time was a few weeks before Christmas and I assumed it because of unruly black Friday shoppers (although that had been several weeks earlier). Sunday Jan 5th I returned, again, just to kill time, and it looked even worse! Every department, every floor strewn with clothes, bedding, suitcases, empty boxes, crap. I took pictures to show my friends. The most humorous was the severed mannikin arm protruding from under a rounder of overpriced women's skirts. I'll stick to Nordstrom. Better merchandise, better customer service, and I can find sale items that rival Macy's prices most days. Better yet, I'll hit up the Marshall's in Solana Beach before I venture into this pigsty again. Stay away ... stay far far away. read more

I wasn't completely satisfied with my experience at Macy's. I went there on Labor Day, and i was really excited about the great deals that I could find. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any product that I need with a significant discount and then, I felt a little disappointed... However, the staff was pretty friendly, I got some free samples and tried some make up products without being bothered.The store is organized, clean, and there is a sort of different brands, including high-end products. After walk around all the first floor, I bought a Ray Ban in a Sunglass Hut kiosk - the girl who assisted me was nice, calm, and I could try a bunch of different models before buying my new one. Another positive point: car park is free, with so many parking spaces right in front of the store. Finally, although the prices are not so good, I intend to come back. read more

Awful experience ever at a Macy's let alone at the UTC Macy's. Elevator broken so was unable to go to second floor with a stroller, and also no AC. Ended up sweating that I just had to get out. Shame on Macy's. customer service already sucked, now facilities sucks. read more

Very unhappy with the customer service here. Purchased two suits approximately two years ago. At the time of the purchase, a gentleman by the name of Thomas who works in the men's formalwear department told me any time I need to exchange the suit for size, I can do so at my convenience. Well what he advertised wasn't actually the case, even though I had the receipt. I came to the store yesterday to switch out the pants for a smaller size, and the response I got from the same gentleman was very rude. I was not so much upset at the fact that they wouldn't exchange the pants (like they promised), but the way in which he handled it and immediately gave me attitude was unprofessional at best. He proceeded to raise his voice for no reason and became confrontational and asked me to write down my name and number as if I did something wrong. Will never be shopping here again and would recommend that this store put better measures in place to ensure their employees understand the concept of good customer service. read more

Ok this isn't really a review for Macy's. This is a review for the Benefit Brow Bar inside Macy's, but there isn't a place to write it so I am gonna do it here. ----- Oh.My.Gosh. Bella. I love Bella. I have gone to her a couple of times and I won't go to anyone else now. She is SO INCREDIBLY nice, so sweet, so GOOD at what she does. Ok maybe this isn't even a review for the brow bar so much as it is a review of Bella. I came to her for my appointment literally straight from a basketball game so I was kinda nasty from running (literally running) from the court to utc, but she totally didn't mind and she took SUCH good care of me. I have sensitive skin and she somehow magically kept me from turning bright red and spotty (always happens when I get my brows waxed). She is so honest and I would totally be her friend and she made the whole experience so enjoyable. I will definitely be back! Also, a holla to the ballas out there: treat your eyebrow technicians well! Tip high and be nice to them because it makes all the difference in your entire experience (not so much quality-wise cus they'll do a good job regardless, but it will make a difference in how enjoyable the experience is!) read more

I think in recent years, customer service has really suffered. The quality of employees are barely sub par BUT, occasionally you'll find a good associate that at least is pleasant as they're ringing you up. Was shopping in the men's jeans section. They don't have a lot to choose from but we did end up buying two pairs. The cashiers were talking rude about other customers coming in and making crazy returns while ringing us up. Well because of this the left a security tag on one of the pants which didn't go off when we left the store. So we didn't notice it until we got home. If the staff was paying more attention we wouldn't have had to go through this hassle. read more

I was waiting in line for a return with one person ahead of me, one cashier. Another cashier named Rachel walks up with a customer and does her return first. I stupidly ask if there's a separate line for returns or if you have to find an associate to get service, but I also work in retail and I know this is not the case. They told me to wait one minute, but I said "we were already waiting in line" and both cashiers just looked down and continued with their returns. Plain and simple, Rachel sucks. And unless the customer ahead of me was severely disabled and in pain (she wasn't!) then I don't see why anyone else is above the law. Sorry to take down the whole store. Blame Rachel. read more

My husband and I came here hoping to buy a new hot plate. The website informed us there were three in stock at this location. When we arrived at the store there wasn't any to be found. We asked for assistance from both an employee and manager and they were nothing but unhelpful, rude and extremely pretentious. We spent 2 hours on a bus and came home with nothing! What a waste of our time. P.S Macy's should retrain its employees both in store and at customer service. Not to mention there website needs to be updated as well. read more

Shady business practices! Be careful when using gift cards here!! Long story short, I placed 2 orders for online store pick up using a Macy's gift card. One item was cancelled. Problem was this store location charged my gift card for the cancelled item instead of refunding the gift card balance. I've contacted Macy's customer service three times regarding this issue. The first being December 23. I've been promised by CS that they will handle the issue and reissue me a gift card within 7-10 business days. It's been over a month and I still have not received anything. No tracking or additional info was given. I'm extremely frustrated with Macy's. It's been an extreme inconvenience as 1) the item I wanted to gift my sister was cancelled and 2) Macy's took my gift card balance so I couldn't pick up anything else for her. I refuse to shop here anymore. Id rather spend my money at Nordstrom or Nordstrom Rack for better customer service and deals! read more

Macy's is a good retail option for a variety of items ranging from clothes and linens to luggage and silverware. Selection is wide and plentiful. Quality at Macy's is on the high side. Prices tend to run high as well, but can be circumvented if you happen to catch one of their many 1-day specials. Customer service can be hit-or-miss, but overall quite professional. Of course, it helps to have a Macy's card. In summary, Macy's is a solid and reliable place to go shopping where the extra money you pay will be compensated by the time you saved. read more

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!! It all started in March when we weren't in quarantine, I bought skincare set from Macy's and the next day there was a sale going on, so I wanted to get a price match. I sent them an email about this and they never responded, the next thing I knew we went into quarantine and stores were closed. Then when the stores opened back up I went to Macy's and just asked if it's possible to still do the price match, and the worker said that "you can't since there's not a sale going on for that product but you can once there's a sale going on again and you don't need your receipt". So now the sale started, I went back to try to price adjustment, but this time the worker (a different one) said that they don't accept price adjustment since you don't have your receipt. Then I told them that they have all the past purchases in their system but the worker just won't accept that. So then I suggest to talk to the manager but the worker kept on saying that that's how they were taught and the manager is going to say the same thing. But I was thinking if they were taught like this then why did the first worker say that I don't need a receipt so I am NEVER EVER shopping there EVER again, very poor attitude for a customer service! This place can be 1 star at times and 5 at other times. For the merchandise that i like, this place is very off and on. Sometimes i strike gold and get a couple tees on clearence for under 10$ each, other times theres NOTHING good on sale, and everything is at it's usually absurd high MSRP price. If you're looking for a suit: Talk to THOMAS. Right after I told Thomas what I wanted he took a good hard look at me and found a jacket with my exact size! It was a perfect fit, and didn't even need tailoring! He was very nice and willing to talk to me about suits, styles and fabrics after I bought my blazer. I went to the purse section on Christmas Eve and it wasn't that busy. A sales associate named Roc was the only one on the floor. I asked him for some help and he just looked at me like I was an alien. I repeated myself and he mumbled something and then went on to open a cabinet for another customer. I am not exaggerating when I say that he moved slower than a turtle. I waited and waited and he never came back to assist me. I have to say, he was the worst associate I have ever seen in years of shopping. I would've bought additional items if it weren't for his lack of service. read more

Wow Macy's has really gone down hill. This location is very dated... Selection is terrible. I was there today and felt like I was at the swap meet. The staff was in there own world and didn't say hello, ask if I needed help or even rang me up! I had someone tell me and my husband that they were clocked out and couldn't ring us, then why the hell are you on the sales floor??
