I went to Impulse Beauty to get my makeup done. I went to Deserie Almueti. She was the makeup artist that was recommended by another employee at Macy's. I am not a person that really does trust all makeup artists since I like my makeup to look a certain way and have had plenty of bad experiences with other makeup artists. However, as soon as I met her and spoke with her, I knew she was going to be the perfect makeup artist. She listened to me and asked what I was looking for. She even showed me examples of her work to get an idea of the style of makeup. So I set up an appointment. Once I arrived the next morning, she went ahead and showed me everything she had gathered for my makeup appointment. She started to do my makeup and did everything so carefully and perfectly. She made sure she did my makeup the way I wanted it to be. She was also open to any requests I had--she told me if I wanted anything to be change, to let her know. At the end, when she showed me my makeup, I was in awe! I loved my makeup so much! It was perfect and the way I liked it. I wanted to show off my makeup to everyone! Very poor customer service. Shocking to see how they fool loyal customers. This associate told me that Valley fair had 3 items of what I was looking for, so I went hunting there and they told me this was wrong and misleading information. The item is nowhere in the entire country and the associate gave me the run around. I wonder what is Macys doing with training or hiring employees. I had two bad experiences at this Macy's and both are worth an honorable mention. It sucks because normally I love Macy's and it disappoints when I get bad service. I will not be going to this Macy's ever again. The thing is I don't expect much as a customer. I don't expect a sales person to babysit me while shopping. I don't expect them to help me pick out items to wear or bring me things to the fitting room. I can do that myself. Hell I can even put my own things back where I found them when I don't want them. I don't see how customers can complain that a store is messy when customers are the ones who mess up the store in the first place! I don't know when people got so lazy and pretty much expect people to do everything for them. The things I do expect are to be treated nicely and to be helped with things that I can't do myself such as ringing me up when I'm ready to purchase my items. I am pretty self sufficient and I don't expect the world from retail associates. Seeing and knowing from experience some the customers they have to put up with I don't blame them at all for getting annoyed. I mean they are human. I try my damnedest to be just the opposite. All I ask for in return is some common courtesy. Experience #1: After getting a few giftcards for my birthday I was really excited to do some serious shopping. For me finding things that I like or need at Macy's is hardly a challenge, in fact I usually find too much. I hit the juniors department looking for some cute clothes and of course I found some without trouble. After a few minutes of grabbing clothes I was ready to leave. It was unbearably hot in that store. Apparently they care nothing about air conditioning and keeping their customers comfortable. I was starting to sweat and feel nauseous. This is NOT what I wanted to happen. I tried on the clothes and then went on a mission looking for someone to ring me up. That was like finding a needle in a haystack. I was hot and cranky by the point and ready to drop the clothes and forget the whole thing when I finally find a register with someone there. There is a huge line of course because she is the only one in the area available but she has the intelligence of a fire hydrant. Not only is she deathly slow with the register and ringing people up but she was chatting it up with her current customer and it had nothing to do with the task at hand and she did not seem to acknowledge the rest of waiting to be rung up. She just kept laughing and yacking away and both women were completely oblivious to the fact that there are other people waiting. It wasn't until I asked if she could call down someone else to help or something did she realize that she needs to move it along. It took way too long. When I got up there she was stuck up and rude. I left disappointed and with a much larger balance on my gift cards than I wanted. Experience #2: This time I knew exactly what I wanted so this was supposed to be an in and out experience. Um yeah right. I saw a pair of boots online and I found out that this store had them in stock. I arrived and went straight to the shoe department and found the display there. They display shoe happened to be my size so I tried it on really quick and it fit so I found an associate and told them I wanted the boots in size 7. They went in the back grabbed the box and I paid and left. Quick and painless. I needed these boots for a party I was going to that night so I was happy things worked out. When I was getting ready I opened the box and the boots looked untouched. They were well wrapped and everything so I was unprepared for what happened next. I put them on and they felt very uncomfortable on my right foot. I looked and it appeared I had them on the wrong feet so I switched them and it still felt that way. Then I realized to my horror they had sold me two left boots! WTF man?! I paid $150 for two left boots. Do they not check this? How did this happen? I look at the time and realize they close in 20 minutes. I hall ass down there and the place is packed. I look for someone to help me because I need to get this matter fixed. Well when the associates see me there with a box and a receipt they assume I making a straight return and I am damaged goods. They avoid me like the plague. I'm sorry but that is BS. I finally get someone to pull their head out of their ass long enough to listen to me and because they would be fixing a problem they caused and not making a sale their treatment of me was luke warm at best. Good news is I left there with a left and a right boot at least. Their service sucks and I got no apologies. I spent the rest of giftcards online. I won't be back to this location. They keep their store about 1000 degrees and the service is not worth the headaches. I used to work at a Macy's so I know some of the crap they have to deal with the way the place is ran and some of the kind of people that shop there but come on! So on my quest for a new pair of jeans I wanted to go to Macy's. Hey I had a gift certificate that needed to be used. I went to Macy's Valley Faire which has CRAP for larger sizes. Yes, I've got a huge butt, but can't they stock jeans for people bigger than size 2? So I went to the Macy's in Capitola and alas no luck. So I had these feeling I was destined to be without new jeans until I went to the Macy's Oakridge. Hooray! A normal people jean department! They had cute styles for ladies of all sizes. I found a great pair of jeans and got to use my giftcard. While moseying out of the store I stopped at the Bobbi Brown makeup counter to look at some eyeliner. The ladies that were working were super sweet and very helpful. They let me play with the eyeliner and gave me tips for using it. So I walked away with some new eyeliner and their really cool "ColorBlock" palette that you can use for a million and one things. read more

Came in here after spending an entire day looking for bras. I couldn't find any decent regular bras anywhere that was affordable. Walked in at 6:52pm on a Sunday night and found a few really good ones by Maiden Form. Tried it on and was at check out at 6:59pm. The cashier was so awesome. She had a great attitude and was so friendly. I really regret not getting her name as I figured it would have been on my receipt but it's not. She really made my night as I was already tired from running around all day. We made small talk and she didn't rush me at all even though they were closed. She also told me about the promotions that they were having and saved me a TON of money on my purchase. When I try for a Macy's credit card again, I'm going to look for her. Eastridge Macy's seems to have clothes everywhere on big sales day and I mean everywhere...on the floor, in the dressing rooms, on the waiting area couches, just everywhere. They have great sales, and the associates are nice enough, but there's never enough of them to help the customers. The shoe department especially is almost always a disaster. Frankly, I'm tired of waiting up to 20 minutes every time I go there to make a purchase. I usually find some sweets deals here, and since the main one for me is in Eastridge mall, this one is my favorite because of how neat and clean and organized things are most of the time! I never have to look in everything to find some thing I like or in my size because it is a bit more organized. The associates could be way more nicer though, and I can hear the girls at the make up counters from so far away, I almost complained because it was "personal talk" whatever. Most of their merchandise is of poor quality, and their service leaves quite a bit to be desired. I have NEVER had a Macy's employee ask me if they can help me find something -- I guess they don't work on commission? Not that I necessarily want someone hovering over me the entire time I'm in their store, but a little customer service would help! Macy's seems to have forgotten that fact... Their merchandise is OK, but most of it is made in China or some other Asian country where the workers are paid next-to-nothing to churn out shoddy clothing, shoes, and housewares. I'd rather spend my money on merchandise that will last more than 6 months to a year. While I have, on occasion, found a good deal here, the whole experience leaves a lot to be desired. read more

This store is located in Oakridge mall in San Jose, nice big car park, Macys has multiple entrances, on all four sides of the store. I come to this Macys department store mainly for the makeup department which is top notch. They always have helpful staff and samples you can try. They have a good, no quibbles return policy. My husband signed up for their Macys rewards card which comes in handy on sales as they send you 25% coupons a few times a year. Nice large store that is well lit and relatively easy to find items. 4 stars read more

I like this Macy's mostly because it is the closest to me but it is actually a fairly nice store. I shop here mainly when I need some dress shirts or ties, but I was in the other day looking for kitchen knives. Now, the knives that I wanted were no longer carried my Macy's it seems but there was a man working in the section that knew exactly what I was talking about. He knew the brand of knife I was looking for, interesting background information that I didn't know and recommendations for where I could possibly find it. So even though they did not have what I wanted, I was still able to get great customer service. read more

This store needs to be SHUT Down! Take Macy's to Bankruptcy. I'm so mad I could scream. Ok. here is what happened. My wife takes my son's pants back to the store. He tried on size 14 pants. (he normals wears size 12) and they were TOO small. We had removed the tags and brought the tags, and original receipt to the register. The ASSbassador said she would help. She said she can't take a return where the receipts are off. We told her we expected them to fit so we took them off to try them on. They did not fit and he has NOT worn them. She said she would take them back. (After making my wife very uncomfortable.). My wife says she would like to buy this this other pair of paints. The ASSbassador looks at the pants, RIPPES off the tag and says she will not sell these pants for what they are clearly tagged. WTF!!!! My wife takes the credit and says she only comes there once a year. After this it's NEVER. We will NEVER enter the doors of a Macy's again. Period. End of discussion. So the long run of it for the store. We brought an item to return with a receipt. We had the tags too. It was unworn. Thanks for making us feel like CRAP to bring something back. Then to add to this. We try to buy something else. NO. the ASSbassador won't have it. I tried to call the store at Oakridge. I was hung up on 4 times and NEVER reached a human. I was tryign to reach the store manager. I have been standing in line , like a fool, for almost an hour to buy two Pairs of pants on a Saturday morning. One person working, people at the counter returning, buying, haggling over the price. Seriously? No wonder the stores are closing down. I should not have to endure this horrible customer service. Update. The cashier was apologetic and when asked called for additional assistance which took forever to come. Finally a manager came and gave me a 25% discount for my time. I appreciate they tried to make amends but would have preferred appropriate service coverage on a weekend. Appalled by the service I received at this Macy's. I was in the kitchen section needing to exchange two pots. I walk up to the register with no one there and an employee saw and stated she would go get someone. She went and grabbed a gentleman to only come out and tell me he was on lunch. I asked how I could get service in this department and he stated he would make a call. He called his manager and was told she was in kids wear. I asked where kids wear was and it was at the end of the store! I had two large pots in large boxes. I was expected to walk all the way to kids wear to check how much this return was worth only to walk back to see what I wanted to exchange my housewarming gift for. Sure enough, I walked all the way to kids wear only to be in a line of 5 people. Only took 14 minutes to do a return. At that point I wanted to take my store credit and drive to Santana row's Macy where I spend plenty of money because of their amazing service. I really needed a 16qt pot today ASAP so I decided to walk back. Told myself if there was an associate I would purchase the pot I needed but if not I would walk. Luckily there was an associate. I have brought 3 people at once and she has always been more than helpful to create magic in her artistry. She is an artist and a teacher who cares very much for her clientele. She is genuine in character, fun, and a perfectionist. She is a delight to work with at the UD Counter. If I could give her 10 stars I would but alas I'm only allowed five. As a student, I work at this Macy's and it's extremely hard work. I also work at a prestigious high tech company in the silicon valley so comparing the two, working at Macy's is much more tedious. However, the employers are very understanding and give me reasonable tasks. From a customer point of view, this Macy's should be decent. Service should not be lacking because all employees work real hard to answer questions. Customers need to understand most of us sales associates are paid minimum wage and don't spend enough time there (because we have school) to know the store like the back of our heads. In terms of selection, we have enough good brands to make this the best clothing store in the Blossom Hill region. It would be better if there were more impulse brands though, like 7 for all Mankind, Original Penguin, Hudson, etc. There are many sales (I once sold a guy a pair of $30 shorts for $4 due to discounts). Also we are the most shop lifted Macy's in the bay area (according to LP) so please have sympathy for us. Overall I highly recommend this Macy's. read more
