I have never been more disappointed in the customer service I received today by Macy's customer service and their management staff. I have been a long time customer and have been ordering things online for years. On April 4th I place an order online and after 3 online order attempts, 3 days and 7 hours of being on the phone with rude customer service representative and managers who were not trying to help but instead insinuating that I was fraudulent, I was finally able to place my order. However at the end of my conversation with their fraud department I would never recommend Macy's to anyone. I was informed that if I ordered online again my orders would be placed on hold and cancelled. How is that for customer service? ! read more

The worst Macy's ever! I think the woman's dressing rooms have more clothes hanging in there then what they have on the floor! Macy's here in Valencia is rather small, compared to other Macy's. Sometimes, the only complaint I have is that I would rather go to the one in Sherman Oaks, which is amazingly huge and has everything. But, to get a quick shirt or some socks, this is the place. I love Macy's I'm not a shopaholic but I do come here often. My favorite departments Shoes: my #1 Favorite, you can always find something cute Apparel: has to be #2, I really can't say anything bad, lots of adorable things all I love the clearance racks Dress: #3, you got to have luck on your side to find anything that looks and feels right but you do hit the jackpot it is usually awesome. Handbag: got to be #4, I'm always up for a new purse, if my budget allows. Chanel counter: I can't go a day without having spray or two of chanel mademoiselle And that is just a tip of the ice burg. Well now that I'm thinking I might just be a shopaholic after all. Most of the time I spend around a $100. I don't buy a lot, just a few pieces here and there. I had the most pleasant mattress shopping experience ever at Macy's! After going to Sit N Sleep (we'd been there only 8 years before) and getting the used car salesman number, to which we promptly said goodbye, to which the salesman there challenged us to go to Macy's and that we'd be back--we went to Macy's. By the way, I would have never known Macy's has mattresses if the salesman at Sit N Sleep hadn't told us, so...thanks, Sit N Sleep; I will avoid giving you a bad review because of the referral. Anyway, back to Macy's. The showroom is quiet and subdued, our sales associate, Tim Haputpong, was amiable and extremely helpful, and not once did we feel pressured to buy anything that we didn't want. I would also like to add that usually when you go in to buy a mattress it is because you are in pain from your current one, and it is very easy to be taken advantage of; but Tim was the picture of professionalism, provided us information on the different mattresses and which may be the best for our needs, and even showed us the sales signs he was going to be putting up later that week, in case we didn't want to be caught buying at a higher price. We ended up with a mattress similar to the one we liked at Sit N Sleep--for $100 less than it cost there. We also bought their 10-year Worry-Free Warranty (part of this cost includes a zip-around mattress cover with bedbug protection, because you never know); it's comforting to know that if we do need to deal with either the manufacturer or Macy's warranty, we only have to go back to Macy's. They delivered 10 days later, and can I say their delivery associates were some of the most polite and efficient that I've ever dealt with! Wow, Macy's--thanks for a 5-star experience! read more

I've had some pretty so so experiences at this Macy's. But my shopping experience last night has made me want to never come back here ever again. I was browsing the shoe department and a pair of coach boots caught my eye. So I walked over to the closest sales lady and asked if I could try on my size. After she took the boot from my hand she looked at me and said "These are really expensive. You know that right?". I responded "Yes. I know". Then she said, "Ok just making sure you knew" before going to get my size. I was shocked. Was it because I look young enough to not have a full time job? Or because I'm a minority? Either way, it was a really dumb thing to say especially since the people in the shoe department earn commission. I tried on the boots but decided to pass and take my business to another Macy's. I sure as hell was not about to purchase a pair of "expensive" boots from some rude ass sales associate. read more

DO NOT BUY A MATTRESS AT MACY'S, at least not the Valencia one. We were promised a delivery date and time window and they called the day before and could not deliver when we had agreed. We had no other time available during the week. They were absolutely UNCARING and made no effort to resolve the situation. Susan in women's dress department has zero knowledge or proper etiquette in customer service! I attended a wedding last weekend and purchased two dresses because I was indecisive. Well I went to return the one that I didn't wear and as I waited for her to attend to me I asked if I could make a return? Instead of her greeting me or saying yes, she asks "does it still have the tags on it?" I replied "of course." Why would she assume that I would return a dress without tags on it? I understand that I'm sure she has experiences where people try the unthinkable but anyone with appropriate customer service knows that you treat every customer with respect. Then she goes on to say "yeah we don't even carry this dress here," (purchased at a different Macy's) I replied "so I can't return it here?" She says, "yes you can but we don't even carry this dress here." What does that mean???!!!! I went to eat lunch and had it on my mind the whole time. Who is this lady? And I couldn't help to feel that she was either being racist with her stereotypical comment saying "people bring back dresses without tags after a fun night." I don't even think she looked me in the eye or said thank you like any good sales person would do. I probably should address this to corporate!! Unbelievable!! read more

This macys is sloppy, dirty& super disorganized in most departments! It's too bad cause it's the only department store in town that carries many of the popular brands. Forget going to shoe department if you want a comfort but dressy shoe. You will not find. The lady's dress department is a disaster. So many dresses on one rack causes injury to your neck back & arms trying to look through them. The help is good is most departments, people are friendly, but they need more help! I am a wheelchair bound person, I can't walk at all. They had little to NO handicap accommodations & treated me with such disrespect that I felt discriminated against. I asked for help from a lady working here & she looked at me in my wheelchair & said "no I can't help you." The service was completely awful. There "wheelchair accessible" bathroom Isn't accessible because they had chairs blocking the bathroom door. Luckily a customer was kind enough to help move the chairs so I could get into the bathroom. When I went into the fitting rooms I got a wheelchair accessible room, however the girl working at the fitting room demanded I bring back all the clothes I tried on while trying to push my wheelchair. She demanded Me to bring the clothes back from the dressing room even though it was incredible hard for me. The whole experience was awful & I won't be shopping here again. The only good part was when I went to pay in a different department called the better tradition department at the chash register near Maison Jules this experience was wonderful the cashier named Andreia who worked in the check out treated me with respect & she demonstrated the best customer service I've ever had. She was the only employee that treated me with kindness. However since every other employee I encountered with this day was incredibly disrespectful. I have to say, Macy's please teach your employees to not discriminate against handicap people & follow guidelines as to making sure that the wheelchair "accessible " bathroom aren't obstructed with chairs! Andriea was the only employee who didn't discriminate against me, she was incredibly awesome! But the fact that every other employee did discriminate against me made me disappointed in Macy's. read more

Must have thieves or idiots working at this store. Ordered a jacket online on 12/21, was told it was ready for pickup and would be available until 12/28. When I went to pick it up on 12/28, I was told it was not in the back so must have been returned to the floor. Then I was told it was picked up on 12/23 even though the email and driver's license is needed to pick up and I had not picked it up. After 1.5 hours trying to resolve the situation, it was finally agreed that if the credit for the jacket did not show on my account in the next couple of days, I was to call back and let the associate who was helping me (Christine) know and she would mail the jacket to me. Well, I called today and first was told there was no Christine working there (sigh), I then explained the situation again, the person checked my account and I was told it was picked up on 12/23 (didn't I just say I did not pick it up? Clearly not paying attention). Call ended with me being told to call Macys.com since I ordered it online. Yes, but the store screwed it up: either someone forgot to credit my account back when they returned the coat to the floor, or someone working at Macys took it. Looks like it will be Nordstrom from now on. Bye Macys - you suck. read more

Today,I went to the Dior make-up counter,I waited,I waited,and I waited for so customer service. The girl that was working was on her cell phone and store phone, I was there around 1:30, after waiting 20 minutes for her to even awnowlege i was there standing right in front of her,still nothing!!! About 30 minutes later, still no customer service,she left the counter and never came back! So,I went 3 steps to the Clinique counter,nice young blonde girl helped me amazinally!! I wanted to send my daughter a gift card. I went to Macys website and ordered one to be sent to her via email. Recieved an email confirming the order. Within a few hours I received another email cancelling the order. I called customer service and they said it was out of my shopping pattern to shop on line which is not true. They said they resent the order thru and there should be no problem. 2 days later I placed another order and received a comfirmation email. Within a few hours i received another email cancelling that order. I called again and they apologized. They fixed that order. I asked them to reconfirm the gift card order and they said it was cancelled. I was so mad!! I said never mind I will go into Macys and buy it. When I went to pay for it my macys card was flagged and was referred to customer service. It was embarrassing and humiliating. Seriously folks, this is a Macys and not Sacks. I do not see anything wrong with this store. There merchandise is great and sale prices are fantastic. Sure, sometimes you have to look, but look at the way people just toss new clothes on the floor or not hang them up when trying them on. We are in Santa Clarita - not Beverly Hills. If you want something better and more posh, drive 35 miles in traffic to the Westside, then wait 20 minutes to try to find parking. I will stay here are park without a problem, walk to the store without getting run over, and get assistance from the sales clerk. I will be fine at this Macy's any day of the week. read more

I've had my share of purchasing MAC Cosmetics from different locations and today was no exception to how I was spoke to and treated over the phone. I was looking for one of the riri collections in Diamond. I called the Westminster Mall and spoke to a gentleman that was so rude. They had one left and advise they don't take phone orders and I must come in with an attitude. This went the same for the Puente Hills location. Macy's customer service said Valencia had 1 left and would place the order. I called and spoke to Brittany. Even though we were disconnected she was very apologetic and helpful. She was juggling customers but had the most exceptional, sweetest and sincere person. She was nice enough to waive the shipping fee too!! If you're reading this Brittany....thank you again!!! I NEVER have a good experience with this store, ESPECIALLY in the home goods department. Today was different. I went there looking for a wedding cake cutting set. I walked in and saw ONE salesperson running around helping about 3 customers at once. She walked towards me and I took that opportunity to ask her for the set. She turned to the others and excused herself. She walked with me where I can find the set but there were none there. She said if I wait for her she can check the computer. I waited while she helped the other customers. SHE'S THE ONLY ONE IN THE DEPARTMENT. Once she was done with them, she proceeded to help me. She looked in the system and found she had two sets in the back but more customers came in so I told her she can help them. I told her I would return after looking at other stores in the mall. I didn't find anything so I came back. She was swamped still but acknowledged me. She helped the other customers then went to the back to look for the set. She found them and I bought one set. The salesperson name was ANA, she was GREAT!!! While I was waiting, I watched her with other customers, she was patience with each one. She answered all their questions thoroughly! She was friendly and extremely helpful. You need more ANAS in your store. Most salespeople in this store is oblivious to the customers. Thanks Ana for your help today. You rock! read more

Rating this post with stars is hard, it's a two fold type of review, some good, some bad, but I'll try and make a long story short, received a necklace set, which included necklace, earrings and a ring, as a gift. Wore it 3 days, the earring came off the post and the stone fell out of the ring. So I took it back to this store in Valencia's jewelry Dept. where it was purchased, I had no receipt because it was a gift. The clerk I spoke to, Tammy was still fairly new but was very helpful in trying to find out if it could be exchanged, I didn't want money back or pick out something else, I loved this set and just wanted to exchange it for the same thing. Tammy spoke to another clerk, named Vanetta, she too was helpful in trying to solve the issue. Due to the fact there was no warranty taken out on it, they said they would exchange it, this one time. I was pleased with that and since they didn't have anymore in stock they checked other locations for it. Then walks up another clerk named Christine, when Tammy was explaining to Christine what was going on, Christine started talking to me in a VERY snotty tone, saying, "that we don't do that". There was more snotty verbal instruction, besides just this, too much to go into detail. As far as I'm concerned, TOTALLY UNCALLED FOR!! Needless to say, Thanks to Vanetta and Tammy the issue was resolved, I ended up purchasing a warranty and they sent it out for repair, pretty simple way to resolve this, but I gotta tell you, I was in retail for over 40 years and if we treated our customers the way Christine treated me, we wouldn't have a job!! She was rude, snotty and condescending. I think she needs to take some classes in customer service, cuz if this is the quality of help you are hiring, I don't see you staying in business very much longer, Macy's use to have a higher level of customer service back in the day, and I must say Tammy and Vanetta still show those qualities but Christine didn't. As far as Tammy and Vanettas star rating, I give them a 5. Christine 0. Something you might remind Christine about. The Customer makes it possible for her to have a paycheck. Shiseido counter: I was in the area on business and decided to stop by the Shiseido counter to exchange a product that created discomfort and sensitivity on my skin. Product had only been used once. I wanted to exchange it for another Shideido product that I knew worked well for me. The sales lady was rude and confrontational and trying to refuse the return. I asked to speak to a manager whom she never called. Then she tried to up-sell me and completely disregarded my request for the new purchase I had in mind. I politely rejected and simply asked her to ring up what I had come over there to purchase along with a mascara. When I got home and opened the container I was shocked to find out there was a big dip in the jar. It looked like it had been opened and used before. I took out the mascara. It was all dried up - hardly any content inside and looked like it may have been the floor sample she threw in a box. I am disgusted. Called and left a message for the manager but haven't heard back from her so far. I obviously won't be going back there and will return this fiasco to a counter nearby. Probably never use their products again... A word of advise - fully examine your products before you walk away from the Shiseido counter at this awful place!!! read more

I hate this Macy's. Even with the remodel, it still feels (as a prior poster wrote) like a Robinson's May. The shoe department is painfully boring and always a mess--cheap black and brown shoes littered everywhere. Their "high end" department is laughable. The racks are about as organized as TJ Maxx clearance racks and the salespeople--I've been in that section four times now, hoping against hope to find a decent pair of petite Joe's or 7's. Each time, the salespeople are chewing gum, chatting it up and using foul language. So professional. Although I have to admit that one of those times, there was a nice older woman supervising two disheveled juniors, and even she was rolling her eyes at the inexperience of these giggling teens. I used to go in there because they finally revamped their cosmetics section a year or two ago, but now with a Sephora and Bare Escentuals store nearby, I'll thankfully never have to set foot in this Macy's again. With the opening of higher-end Patio stores and boutique stores in the SCV, Macy's needs to step it up. read more

I applied for a job at Macy's Valencia Town Center and was invited to schedule an interview. I did so and received two separate confirmations of my appointment. I drove 50 miles from where I live in Lancaster to Santa Clarita just to be told the position had been filled. Not only had I not been notified the position had been filled before I drove all the way down there, the interviewer also informed me the position had already been filled when I applied for it. The interviewer then proceeded to ask me to interview for a position that was not of the same caliber or pay range of the one I applied for. Macy's had an open job posting for a position that had been filled and even had me come in under the impression I had a chance at that position. They got me in the store under false pretenses in hopes of getting me to a fill a position I have no interest in. Needless to say I will no longer be supporting the inconsiderate and asinine company that is Macy's. read more
