In the recent years, like a lot of people, I have been doing my shopping online. Returns are sometimes inevitable, and are important parts of the entire shopping experience.  So, this review is mostly based on my returns at the store experience. Macy's has made their shipping very easy to track, and if you spend $500 or $1,000 or more a year, and reach their gold or  platinum status, every shipping is free with no minimum. What is most important is that the returns are smooth and easy.  Since they closed the Macy's in Northbrook Court, I have been going to the store in Old Orchard to do my returns. I am pleased that 3 out of my 4 returns were quick and easy (the last one had a long wait because the customer in front of me was buying tons of stuff at customer service, and there was only 1 associate at the counter). The first return there was during the time after the holiday season, there was a friendly staff lady inside the front door to welcome me, and directed me where to return the boots. I was in and out in just 5 minutes. A memorable return was made in the cosmetic department.  Since the lady of my brand was on break, Jonathon who was working at Bare Minerals came over to cover for her to do the returns. He was stunningly beautiful! His makeup was meticulous and gorgeous. He was wearing a trench coat style dress in yellow and green graphic patterns, the outfit was completed by a pair of tan color dress boots. His hair was clean cut, very short, and chic looking. Jonathan was friendly and professional, and he made a great representative of their cosmetic department! His supervisor Jane was nice and friendly too. When I needed to return some ceramic dishes at the customer  service department in their basement, Saleen was very friendly and efficient too!  If you need to go to that department, it's best to park in the Green Garage, which is free and easy to find a parking space. The garage is right by the back entrance of Macy's.  You only need to take the escalator to go to the basement once you enter; and the department is right there. As far as the store is concerned, the majority of the first floor is the cosmetic department, which is nice and clean, and modern looking. There are also shoes and handbags close by.  However, the basement and the second floors could use some renovation to update the dated look.  I will update when I do more in person shopping there.

Macys, you've gone downhill. Compared to a year ago? I think it's a little better organized and the makeup and perfume downstairs is hopping and we'll-pit together if you like smelling clouds of scent... Upstairs though in the women's section, I have issue. I noticed not all the dressing rooms were open. Then, there were fewer checkouts. And less brand to choose from. Michael Kors is someone I would buy from and he's not there. Christian Dior and other brands like it make products that are absolutely ridiculously out of scale... I wear a large top, and I put on a size 16 blazer and couldn't even put my hand in. Wtf y'all? I felt like half the upstairs were brands my grandmother would wear, and the other half was so wrongly sized that it couldn't work. And where are other brand names... it's like everyone pulled out? I bought 1 green jacket that I'm still debating if I'm goi g to return it or not, and a black top. I tried on other items and the designs and colors available this season really stink! Who is picking out this stuff? Also... revamp the changing rooms. They're worn out. And I really hate the mirrors. Of all the places I shop, JJill, Anne Taylor, Anthropologie... your mirrors make people look fatter. If you want people to feel good about themselves when they are trying on clothes? Get better mirrors, lighting and changing rooms.

It's a beautiful warm and humid day in Chicago and the walk was good. The place is very quaint and small but well lit for shopping. It's a woman's boutique specializing in European clothing. The major designer is Solar and I have not heard of it, but designs are suited for a dressier woman. Thankfully that counts me in as I work in an office where jeans are not allowed and it's conservative so the weekends I can go casual. Back to the store the sizes are European and the lady at the counter (I am assuming is the owner) was very kind to tell me that 34 is usually x-small, 36 is small and 38 is medium. I'm usually a medium but some of her clothing allow for a 34 when I tried on a pair of white slacks. It had a great fit, but buying white is difficult because the material may be more revealing than you might like. Her clothes has many price points as she indicated and sales from the previous season is 20% off. Her summer selection drove me to walk in full of blight yellows, pink, and orange. Do stop in if you're in the neighborhood and support local small businesses!

This Uncharted is similar to the one in Arlington Heights, which looked somewhat newer. It also had many different departments, each selling trendy merchandise. There seemed to be a lot of cute things that I could browse had I had more time to shop. I ended up grabbing several boxes of moisturizer and headed to checkout. The cashier was very friendly; she called some manager trying to check if I could combine two deals at the same time. I had a 10% off the entire purchase for the first time for rewards member coupon, and a monthly $5 coupon. As she apparently did not get a clear answer, she scanned both barcodes to let the system decide. It worked and saved me over $15. That's perfect customer service! I will be back to shop more for sure.

The store is laid out in sections and well organized. There is so much to look at. It's a pre-teen and teen haven, lots of cute things. For those who know, it's a Lad and Lassie (a former mom and pop shop in Wilmette) on steroids plus goods for other age groups. It's the perfect place for a gift.

I've been to them in LA, Greenwich, NYC, Charleston, Palm Beach and elsewhere...but no chicago. Back in March we were shopping our way thru LA when I asked the sales associate the very same question and she said "well you're in luck because I hear one is opening up in Wilmette this year?" I figured she must be confused since there was nowhere in Wilmette that made sense to put a Love Shack Fancy, but she was correct. About a month later I heard that they would be turning Wilmette's Plaza de Lago into a shoppers paradise, which included Love Shack Fancy! There's so many amazing stores going into Plaza de Lago, but all my 14 year out cares about is Love Shack Fancy and she's been eagerly awaiting opening day. When we heard September 19th was the big day she suggested we camp out the night before. Um, no. I did offer to take her to their opening during her school at school, but then we scored an invite to their VIP grand opening the evening before...I told her to invite a few friends and let's shop! I think the girls spent more time making tiktoks and taking pics than shopping, but my wallet was OK with that. However, we did spend a lot of time admiring all the frilly adorable clothes...and purchased a few things. i liked that they had a few Chicago items for sale such as bracelets and a sweatshirt to make it special/different from over LSF stores. All the sales associates there couldn't be more friendly whether they were visiting from other stores (we saw a few that helped us in Greenwich during our last visit!) or will be working there full-time (shout out to Carly who was very friendly to my daughter and her friends). Everyone in the store, whether they worked there or visiting, was dressed to impress in LSF and while i usually find it to be a younger brand definitely found myself admiring some things for myself. I have a feeling we'll be back a lot, although i think my 14 year old is going to need a job with this just 15 minutes from our house!

I decided to check it out. It's a very cute store, and the sales girl who greeted me and was lovely and very sweet. We chatted for a bit and she wasn't at all pushy, and she gave me good info about how the store is set up and some tips for online shopping. The denim prices are on par for what you would see at other shops for the same brands, and they were running a 10% off sale for Labor Day, which is nice. The tops and sweaters are a bit overpriced for what they are (honestly the quality doesn't seem that much different than much less expensive stores, or other women's clothing shops. Like, I couldn't tell the difference in fabric quality for their $70 graphic Janis Joplin t shirt and my $20 Target Janis Joplin shirt). They have some really cute workwear, though, and if I worked a job where I had to be business casual in an actual office where people would see more than just my shoulders in a Zoom window, I would be tempted to get a few blouses, blazers, or slacks here. But since I can wear yoga leggings, a knit tee and throw on an old blazer when I need to for a video call, I can't justify buying things I won't ever use. But it was fun to browse!

I haven't spent very much time in Evereve stores (although that may change now), but I get their trendsend box every few months. I highly recommend you do the same if you're looking to update your wardrobe seasonably because they seem to nail it each time. The lovely sales associate I spoke to when browsing the Winnetka Evereve told me that they are going to start styling the trendsend boxes from this location next month. I love their clothing for comfortable yet put together looks for lounging, working or chasing around my kids. I find it all very age appropriate for a women in her 40s like myself, although I did find myself eyeing a few pieces during my last visit that my 12 year old would go nuts for. The new Winnetka store is no exception and I spied a fabulous spanx sweatsuit (I lived in one of these last winter), comfortable yet trendy splendid shoes for fall and an impressive sale section that even had a ton of fall/winter wardrobe options. I'll continue to get my quarterly trendsends because it's fun receiving a box of clothes right to your house, but love that I have this option nearby since shopping in person is fun too!
