I shop at Macy's...probably once a year. I have a Macy's card that I haven't used since 2007. Sad, I know, but my mom got a giftcard for Christmas, so she wanted to stop by for some goodies. She saw a nice purple cardigan that she liked, but the only one that was left had a missing button. So, I walked around looking someone who worked there to see if they had another one in the back. I asked this one lady who was working nearby (like five-feet-away-nearby) who told me to go back to the INC section to ask them. She even pushed me towards them. Lady, keep your paws off me! So, after I brushed that off, I walked over to customer service and nicely asked the woman at the counter. She pointed out the spare button that was attached to the tag. Excuse me, bitch? She's lucky I pretended not to hear her comment cause I would've blurted out, "BITCH, DO YOU WANNA SEW IT ON FOR ME? IT'LL STILL BE MISSING AN EFFIN' BUTTON!" Good grief! She's lucky there were witnesses around. We went upstairs to the home section and had a more pleasant shopping experience. My mom found a quilt that she liked and I was able to get 15% off with my Macy's card. If you ever find yourself at this Macy's, avoid the women's section entirely; they haven't an idea of what customer service is. This would never happen at Nordstrom! Just sayin'. read more

Store is very unorganized but there are always excellent deals and discounts. Definitely not on par to Macy's of bigger cities, but for Stockton, it's not too bad. Employees are OK if you find the right ones. Older Indian lady in women's section is not friendly nor helpful, avoid her. read more

I come here every couple of months to pick up some face lotion for my mother. She uses Clarins. The girls there are always sweet and helpful. I never had a problem with my mission. Fast service, always have my product in stock, PERFECT transaction every time. read more

Stockton Macy's is lacking compared to most. The departments are usually messy, they don't have the same upper scale brands the bigger Macy's have and the sales aren't as good as Dillards. I went to buy something the other day and every single one on the rack was on sale except the one in the size I wanted. Why would the size size 6, 8, 10, be on sale but not the size 4? They wouldn't give me the discount!!!!! I have worked retail and you give the customer the discount. Crazy. read more

There was only one girl ringing up registers in shoes with a long line and another associate just brought people from the side onto her register and completely disregarded the line. I called for the store manager to complain and was transferred to many people that weren't even close to the manager. I kept getting transferred to associated and ultimately gave up on their "customer service". Never will I ever shop at this store again. read more

Maritza was awesome. Superior customer service. We told her what we were interested in and she zipped and zoomed to where this stuff was located. She even kept price in mind and helped us find the best deals. My wife said "it's the first time I have enjoyed shopping in years". I love Macy's. it's always reliable for finding a gift for anyone. I like our Stockton Macy's because its not so big you can't look at everything....and its departments are always stocked with pretty good stuff. So far I've never experienced bad customer service?? The people working there have always been cheery and nice. One time in the shoe department this man didnt stop looking for the pair to these shoes I had to have and he finally found it!!! (It was one of those these are the last pair kinda thing that happened). Anyways Macy's is awesome! They also try to be green by using solar panels to run their electricity! If your wondering why this store is rated 3 stars , ill tell you why . Ive been shopping here for years as a loyal macys customer , youd think they would take care of you and treat you with respect but instead they make me wait in line and on hold with a macys customer service provider only to tell me that i cant purchase my gfs birthday present because i dont have my license (lost it and had temporary license only with a highschool id i was using with my name until my license came through the mail) . And then the cash register lady asks me how old i am insulting me saying i should be more responsible? Absolutely unnecessary and unproffessional. How is it i can use the Macys Credit AmEx Card everywhere else EXCEPT Macys??!! Im done with this card paying it off then cutting it UP ! read more

First of all it looks completely outdated from the outside......it's so sad looking. I have actually passed up the store, just because the exterior completely threw me off. I would not have expected a Macy's to look so dated. The selection and the store was a bit messy. I only found 2 items.....disappointed, but was glad to have found anything. Jade from Estee Lauder was such a great help when it came to cosmetic suggestions. I took my mother there for consultation and jade made her feel comfortable and relaxed. Her make up was great! We walked away with purchases because of Jade's genuine interest in helping. I called again today to ask for Jade's availability, but unfornately she wasn't in for the day. So I asked the person on the phone from Estee Lauder if she can suggest someone else for cosmetic consultation. Instead she just told me that she is headed to dinner at 4:00 PM and abruptly hung up the phone. I wasn't able to ask anymore questions. I never got her name because she answered the phone with "Hello?" I had to ask if it was Estee Lauder department to ensure that I was speaking to the correct in-store representative. This was unacceptable, but I am not angry. I'm honestly just frustrated because of the lack of training the particular representative had. I hope the department can look into correcting or reviewing phone etiquette and customer service training for this employee. If it weren't for Jade's help last time, I'd rate Estee lauder ' s customer service at one star. But I can't punish a great employee for the other who wasn't up to par. At this time, I am left with no choice, but to consider other competitor sets who will be more than happy to assist my needs. I hope management takes this input as something as a positive criticism and review guidelines with employees uninterested in performing their duties. Jade is an added asset to the department. I came here on a Friday evening with the intent to purchase a purse. The store was very clean and the purse section was well stocked. There was two associates I seen in the entire purse section. A mature woman who was busy helping other customers, and a young (Hispanic) man. The young man who had a Macy's name tag on was busy chatting with a girl near the makeup side of Michael Kors cursing up a storm and hanging out. After 30 minutes of waiting, I just left without purchasing anything. I went to the shoe section instead and picked out suede madden wedges. No associates in sight I waited, and again gave up and left. For a Friday night they should be more staffed. read more

I'm upset because I got a great deal on a pearl set to buy for my loved one. The only thing is that they have no clue where my order was. I have called multiple times after its arrival and wasted gas to the mall and not one associate has found it. I then wrote a complaint to customer service and was called immediately but it has yet to be found. Although I do appreciate customer service for their help but the associates seem like they do not care. I got my refund back at least but I am hurt that I couldn't get the product I wanted. read more

When you think of Macy's you think of an upscale department store. However, this particular Macy's location is not nearly as nice as the on in San Francisco or elsewhere. I live in Stockton, but I go to Macy's out of town because this one is just not very nice. They don't carry all of the same items and visiting this location isn't as pleasant of an experience. I was in there on a Friday afternoon In the Stockton store looking to buy a new cologne. I like to browse when I shop. I was immediately approached by a salesperson and told her I was just looking and she gave me her name and told me to let her know if I need help. That was fine. I was then hit up by another sales woman, then another one, then another one, then another one.Jesus H Christ! Talk about a piece of meat in a pool of Piranha. I did not like the fact that the samplers where kept behind the displays so you had to have help to find a scent you want. I was a Hi-End Retail Clothing Store manager in San Francisco for years. I can see commission based sales people a mile away. I understand the money is in cosmetics and perfumes which is why you have so many sales people in those depts. But there where 10 sales people and 2 customers. I had one of your more aggressive people spray some scents I was interested in on some cards so I could smell them later as she tried to sell me away from what I was interested in and into what ever was the bonus commission sale she was after. I won't be purchasing my cologne at this store or maybe any Macy's if I am attacked like this again. I will continue to seek out the scent that I find pleasing which may take time and the sale will go to the most professional sales person I find. if i can not find a relaxed place to buy I will buy it online from a place that did not pressure me to buy. read more

Mac make up snobby girl. Saturday July -14-2018 I was there waiting to purchase my foundation. The employee at Mac station said "I'm the only one here." So she continue to chit chat with another customer not even talking about buying any product. So I waited about 30 min while they just chatting away. At this time I wanted to walk away and leave. I guess that's what she was hoping I did. I swear she wasn't even helping the other customer but talk "Oh how do your hair" over heard as they got so loud. You want to keep your JOB. Pay attention to paying customer. As she ringing me up she didn't even ask politely all she said is (What you want)??? Um Meeh I should of said extra primer and foundation to cover up that attitude of yours! Lol I was polite and just paid and left.. this feedback makes it worth it. I give everything about Macy's zero stars!!!!! Every time I go there it's horrible!!!!! benefits did my 15 year old daughters makeup and I specifically asked to not have a woman do her makeup because her makeup was awful on herself!!! They ignored me and my daughters face was as white as a crayon and her eyes looked like she had 2 black eyes, lips so red they stained them for days!!!! She left crying and nobody cared!!!! We had to take it off they make you buy products even though we hated it!!!! Then we held shoes over night for my other daughter and picked them up the next day. She took them in the box out of town for a wedding in SF to find out they had switched sizes to a larger size!!! The box and the shoes we picked out were a 6 and the ones we got were a size 7 in the size 6 box???? They were the last 6 they had gave them another chance and made a makeup appointment with origins this time for my other daughters Sr. Prom at 2:30 giving us plenty of time to go home put dress and shoes on to be to her pictures and get in limousine by 4. So we get there and the girl "PAULETTE " left to another makeup station and did another girl instead of honoring our appointment because her friends were over at that counter we stood there while trying to find someone to do it for her I spoke to PAULETTE and she said "well I'm busy don't know what to tell you " finally a woman named MARTHA said she could but we will have to go find makeup because all the other counters had taken hers at this point it's 3:30 and didn't get out of there till 4:30!!!!!! ugh!!!! I called for the manager and her response was what would you like me to do???? REALLY???? She missed her SENIOR PROM PICTURES AND LIMOUSINE RIDE TO DINNER I WILL NEVER EVER GO OR RECOMMEND THEM!!!!! The merchandise is too expensive when it's not on sale. Most of the stuff they have ends up going to TjMaxx and Marshall's anyway. Sometimes, however, you can find some killer deals on the clearance racks. I'm not going to complain about the people working there because half the time they are understaffed and that is the fault of whoever makes the schedules, not the associates. People tend to forget that the associates are just people like you (who also go shopping sometimes) that are at work, getting paid sh**ty wages and getting treated like crap by customers. read more
