Where do you even begin with these guys? To start, I was looking for a FULL BATHROOM remodel, so I googled remodeling companies in my area. I put my information and what i was looking for into a company's website (NOT Mad City), and 30 seconds after hitting enter, I got a call from Mad City (I believe they set up dummy websites that redirect to their sales people.) This is a good tactic, actually, because I had zero clue who I was talking to, and I never would have called Mad City after seeing their reviews. I told the salesman what I was looking for, an entire bathroom remodel. He went along with me and claimed they could do what I wanted, and scheduled a time to come see my bathroom and give me a quote. He shows up, takes a look at my bathroom, and I explain again what style I'm wanting. He cuts me off and says "we only do baths. But you can easily install a new vanity and toilet yourself." Okay? Then why are you at my house? Claiming to be a bathroom remodeler? I should have ended the conversation right there. He then sits at my kitchen table, with my husband and my baby, for TWO HOURS while going over why Mad City is the best company to ever grace this earth, showing me pages of fake BBB reviews, taking out supposed propriety caulk, all while my baby is getting fussier and fussier because by this time it's like 7pm and it's past his bedtime and we haven't even had dinner yet. I excuse myself to put the baby down, thinking he would get the hint, and he STAYED IN OUR HOME FOR THIRTY MINUTES while I rocked my infant to sleep. Meanwhile my husband throws a pizza in the oven because it's dinner time, and he still doesn't leave! After the baby is down, he finally starts talking actual products and money. He has us "design" our bathtub (very few choices by the way, and nothing you couldn't get at Home Depot) and then WONT TELL US THE PRICE! He just keeps asking "how much we are able to spend per month." We insisted that we would not be financing anything, and paying with cash. Seeing that we weren't going to budge, he tried a different approach. He showed us that the "national average" bathroom remodel was 30k, and had us subtract what we "guessed" items to cost from that made up figure. How much is a vanity? 1.5K, I guessed. A toilet? 500$ I guessed. Another 500$ for a mirror and some lights. So, the only thing left is a bathtub which, as you can probably guess, "conveniently" costs 30k minus my guesses above. That's right ladies and gentlemen, they quoted us 27,500$ for a single bathtub. At this point I said, "I'm sorry, but our budget is 5k." He literally LAUGHED like I had zero clue what I was talking about, and proclaimed that I couldn't get any bathtub for 5k. He then brings back out his financing options and asks me how much I can spend per month. Folks, these people literally sell FIFTEEN YEAR LOANS FOR A SINGLE BATHTUB. FIFTEEN YEARS!!!! Meanwhile, our pizza is getting cold and my husband politely tries to get this man to leave us alone. He literally would not leave. He pretended to pack up his belongings and then would start talking again, and offering to lower the price or give us special offers that would expire the second he left our home. He stepped outside to "call his boss" and get us a better deal. By the time he finally left, the bathtub was going to cost 11k. A 16k "discount" and it was still absolutely outrageous. These con artists are fully aware that if they walk away without a sale, it's not going to happen. It just takes 30 seconds on google to see the price of a tub, and 10 seconds on Yelp to see their atrocious reviews. I think these people prey off senior citizens. Don't let these guys pressure you into a huge mistake with their sleazy sales tactics. I wish I would have asked him to leave 5 minutes after he arrived so he didn't waste 3 hours of my time. read more

Do not use - they are arrogant sloppy and refuse to finish. Their work negated the warranty. They claimed they caulked the windows behind the flashing, there are gaps between the flashing and the home - there is flashing now tightly fastened. These people are a nightmare. They took advantage of my elderly mother and charged her $22,000 for refinishing cabinets on an 8x8 kitchen with 14 small doors top and bottom. They never even renewed the inner cabinets!!! That's nearly the price of an entire kitchen remodel not just cabinets! My mom can't even use some of the drawers because they messed them up and made them smaller! Their workmanship was poor! Biggest mistake by using this company. Be informed and be aware. They had 4 separate employees come out to measure the shower area and when the new shower came it was the wrong size but they took out the old shower and demo the walls. I took two days of PTO for them to install the shower for them to reschedule it and its next to impossible for me to take time off as I'm a healthcare provider. It took another 2 months of waiting for the new shower to arrive so I had deal with a torn up bathroom and no shower. I wanted something quick and cheap as I plan on selling the house soon. Big mistake as it was more if I went with general contractor and used real title. The wall product is cheap looking but functional. Shower does work well definitely get the wand. The shower door was installed incorrectly had to have them come out 3 times to fix it and they made me feel like it was my fault. It was like pulling teeth to get them to fix it. The shower door still does not shut. You have to fill out a form on the website to get repairs. Still waiting on a response HIGH PRESURE SALESMAN. Felt pressured into the agreement and then they added an additional 1500 dollar charge for the shower door that I didn't realize (my mistake for not paying close attention). So make sure to fully understand what you're getting and what you're paying as they have hidden fees. I paid them the amount that they gave me (they gave me a when hey finished the shower and then I got call stating I owe an additional 1500 dollars on top of the 7 thousand I paid for and I wouldn't pay the 1500 dollars until they fixed the shower door which they then threatened to put a lien on me. Mad City put in 2 showers in our home. They sent a crew that were more like siding installers. The showers needed to be redone so they came back out to do what they could & made them better but it took months and months. In the meantime they were already collecting for the total due months before the project was done. These showers cost over 10 grand and that's w/o doors and then we had to deal with communicating, scheduling more visits for months! So many problems with this walk-in shower installation! In the process of installing they bowed the living room wall (same wall as the shower above) causing 4 nails to pop out. Dinged my freshly painted stair well, and busted a hole in the ceiling below! They were suppose to install a hand held shower with the rain shower. They didn't! Have to say since installation of my 3 front windows that my complaint of not being able to lock them with ease may have been resolved. Will find out in 2 days once I open them once the silicone has set. Shims were removed, which had caused a bow in the frame that the original installer never noticed. The final inspection by Eric, who figured out the problem that the others did not is greatly appreciated. The drafts are gone. These guys came over to give me an estimate on refacing my kitchen and bathroom cupboards. They told me that refacing was 1/2 the cost of new cupboards. The estimate they gave me for refacing was 1/2 the price of what my house was worth lol. They wanted 60k. Then they started in with their worthless discounts. This quote included glass doors (The quote was $13,000, electric switch relocation, however it would entail a new floor (could not have the same footprint as tub) I also received a quote from Mad City--this quote was around $10,000, stating I didn't need to relocate electric switch and also could use the same imprint as bathtub and shower curtain would be sufficient (keep water in) I called after signing the contract asking how much glass doors would be--salesmen said if I decided I needed glass doors in the future, cheaper to order them from someone else Finished product: Demo in walls were left near sink (I asked installer many times if he was going to fix) broken with exposed studs. I needed a contractor to fix. Water spills out of the shower onto floor. I've tried various shower curtain configurations, but each and every time the floor is soaked. I will probably need to spend another $2,000 to $3000 for glass doors. Number of windows replaced, 14. 28 June 2023, Talked with salesman. 28 June 2023, Signed contract with salesman. 14 September 2023, Work started. 22 March 2024, Work was completed. $33,907 cost of windows with install. While talking with salesman Brad, we told him we would like to have all finished wood around windows replace minus the trim inside. He agreed and informed us they would also replace all wood that is rotting if they find any also, they did not find any rot, house is 23 years old. On the following Wednesday the Measuring Tech named Andy came out and did all the measuring, while measuring he made a small noted they would replace all wood up to jams. The note was not discussed with me or my wife. Installers arrived on 14 September 2023 and started install. I told them that per our agreement with Brad they were to replace all wood up to inside trim. They informed us that is not what the work order says. I called the supervisor for the area and he told up since the Andy noted they were only replacing wood up to the jams that is all they will do. This is not what the salesman said and not what we originally signed. Installers did an outstanding job and I feel went above and beyond. The company did not give them the right size screens for several windows. Over the next 6 months they tried to get the correct size screens. Installer came out to the house on 4 occasions finally getting the last screen in on 22 March. The contract you agree on and pay can be changed after that without them telling you. I feel if the contract that was agreed on changed by the Measure Tech should also reflect in the cost. I paid to have all the wood replace and they did not. The supervisor was not customer friendly. The finance company called me more than Mad City did. The finance company were more concerned with my satisfaction and how the job was done than Mad City. Would I do it again. NO. I really love the new shower. There were a few hiccups--confusion about what a "niche shelf" meant, but in the end, the result was really nice. They took the shower walls down to the studs, built a new wall, and installed a gorgeous new shower. It took longer than a day, but I am very happy with the result. However, there were design issues, and flawed/damaged product. The installer took our report of the issues and said he would submit thel to Mad City who would contact us to resolve. Installation was good, but not great. Completely messed up about 90% of our counter tops, we are still waiting on them to be replaced. The installers are not the measurers and that has made it a huge problem. There are a lot of small imperfections and for something at this price point I would never recommend this company. We had our garage and patio floors done with Mad City. It started with a pressure salesman. I felt like we were doing a time share presentation. He did the phone call to see if he could lower price. Ultimately, we fell for it. Then a project that was a one day project turned into a week. We were disappointed with our patio color results immediately. The sample and the picture I had looked nothing a like. They said it would be an upcharge. I said I am not putting any more money into this as it was already well above the average cost/square foot. Finally, the manager came out and was extremely rude. He made a point in saying he is going out of his way as he lives in Lakeville. Then he brought the tiles back and tossed them down on our patio. Yelling and using a raised voice he said pick one. My spouse told him to please lower his voice. He kicked a tile and said he had someone pick this one with a brown house because he liked it. One day the lead called and said he had a cancelation in our area so he would like to come finish our patio. For as much as we paid for this project I would expect a little respect. I'm really not one to complain, but this was the most painful process to get to a finished project that I've ever experienced before. We went with Mad City because we liked their flat price guarantee and after shopping around and getting multiple quotes it seemed like the best option. Fast forward to the scheduled install date- no one showed up. We waited till near the end of the window of arrival we were told before calling and asking what the deal was. It was difficult to figure out who to even call to get ahold of as you have to go through their menu system. Finally reached someone and they said they were sorry but they didn't realize the installer couldn't make it that day. They then told me the soonest they could reschedule was two weeks out .. I then pushed back and said we'd prefer it to be done sooner, that we were balancing multiple projects, and they then said they could come the next Monday. Monday rolls around, I get a call that the installers car broke down and they'd come Wednesday. On Wednesday an installer showed up not wearing a mask. He did one of the three windows and said he didn't have a ladder to finish the job and that he'd come back the next day. At this point I'm trying to get ahold of anyone that can confirm with me that someone is going to show up and complete the job - and again as they have a menu system when you call MadCity you cannot simply get ahold of anyone directly and they bounce you around to peoples voicemails. On Thursday afternoon I get a call that (unsurprisingly) the installer will not be able to complete the project that day, but that someone could come the next day. We're now on day five of being pushed out (not to mention having to adjust work schedules each time). At this point they actually sent out a great installer, but he said unfortunately our window was cracked and they needed to order a new one (3-4 additional weeks) and said the last installer did such a poor job on the first window that it would need to be reinstalled. Three weeks later we did get the job completed, the windows were installed, and they look nice. At this point, however, we still never heard directly from the field manager like we were told upon completion of the project. A separate representative did call to ensure the job was completed, to whom we explained some of our grievances. The communication with us throughout the project was very poor, and it felt like we were being avoided when we called to simply understand when the job was going to be completed, and to voice our frustration over the process. read more

The aggressive texts started almost immediately at 8 am the next morning, pushing for an appointment. I responded by asking "How did you get my name and number? Yours was not a company that I reached out to." The rep fed me some line that it is common practice for other companies to put work out to 3 or 4 sources... rather unlikely at 11 pm. My gut tells me this is a very unethical company that is either hacking other legitimate company's websites, or more likely, creating bogus ones that send your info to Mad City. By no means am I an expert but here is the story. We had 3 new windows installed September 2019....these 3 windows have condensation and have frozen shut, with ice forming on the inside of my house. I called the company and they stated it was normal and condensation needs to be wiped off!?!?! I have several windows in my house and none of them are frozen shut which I explained to the lady and she said that was because thier windows were basically doing thier job and keeping heat in....uhhh so why is ice forming on the inside of my house?!?!?!
