Recommended by a friend, as I was looking for a place to shoot darts. Went on a Thursday evening, minimal crowd. Two dart boards in the back, and we had them all to ourselves! Super fun, tasty beers and chicken quesadilla was fine. Usual bar food; chicken wing special on Thursday's as well. TVs showing sports and peanuts everywhere. Peanut allergy afflicted: be warned!

The Mad Donkey Beer Bar & Grill Is a playful little neighborhood bar. The wait staff was fantastic! We had The Tower, and a couple of burgers w/ fries. Best burger in LIC! It's a great place to hang out, chat with friends, grab a bite, play some games and throw back some brews. Don't forget to try the Famous FishBowl. The bar has a back section where you can play board games and have food and drink challenges.......(I'm always up for a good challenge)plus they have a barrel of complementary nuts to crush on snack on. It's a Peanut Shell Tossing good time, y'all! Four Stars Happy Eating Y'all!

I've heard great things about this bar. And in fact my friend had kept raving about it and trying to persuade me to go for forever. "One day we have to go to Mad Donkey! Monday: $1 tacos! Tueday: 30 cent wings! Wednesday: more cheap stuff! Thursday: Ladies pay $10 at the door for complimentary drinks! Friday-Sun: Tons of Specials and Sports on Tv! AND THEY HAVE RUM SOAKED CHERRIES AND FREE PEANUTS!" She really knows how to advertise. . . Well, we ended up going here after a Yelp Queens event. There was a deal to check in for a free beer on Yelp and I initially told the bartender and he directed me to a lady because he didn't really seem to know anything about it. She told me it was for only Coors Light and asked if I still wanted it. I mean, yeah, duh, I still want a free beer. BUT it also doesn't specify in your ad on Yelp that its for ONLY COORS. I wasn't the only Yelper disappointed that night because others followed us to the bar from the party. Second upset. My friend purchased a wristband at the door for unlimited drinks for $10 ladies night. I did not because of the free beer which I tipped on because I'm not cheap. But figured I wasn't up to drinking that much anyway. Neither was my friend or her boyfriend but they usually share saliva and food and everything anyway. So it didn't strike anyone as a big deal that after she ordered a beer and was half-way through it that she'd order another one and let her boyfriend finish her first. She was probably going to get another beer for herself anyway and then tip and leave. It was the end of the night. But the bartender decided to publicly humiliate her over this. He came over and yelled. It was weird. We felt weird. He looked like a fool. And my friends felt weird. I felt weird. But she was a classy broad and paid for the extra drink before walking out of the bar. Also, your loaded cheese fries suck. They have to use jarred queso cheese. I'm so confident in this because it had a slightly spicy kick to it and so does the spicy queso nacho cheese for Tostito chips you only consume when you are schwasted while watching football and then you fully regret it the next day because your stomach feels like a brick. It also comes with canned chili on top. And bacon. The bacon part is real.

Free nuts!!!

Who can argue with free peanuts? This is the perfect neighborhood bar - cheap drinks, no fancy frills, and free peanuts. Although I am not a resident of Astoria (I guess LIC, theoretically), I love stopping by this place for a few drinks before exploring Astoria. The bartenders are everyday, salt of the earth type of people. I have yet to experience snobby attitudes from the bartenders or the bar patrons. This is a perfect place to visit to either start or finish a night of drinking . . . Or using peanuts to get a nice base for your belly. Perhaps, one of these days I will brave the fish bowl.

This is the kind of neighborhood pub where the bartender knows your name, remembers your drink order, and makes everyone feel like a local. The space is much larger than it looks from the outside, with plenty of TVs so you never miss a match. I've heard there's even an upstairs event space, although I've never ventured up there myself. I'm usually parked comfortably in my stroller while my humans watch the game, and we've always felt welcome. One thing I appreciate is that while they don't serve food, they do allow outside food, which makes it easy to grab something nearby and settle in for a few hours of football. If you're looking for a relaxed Upper East Side pub with a friendly neighborhood feel, lots of screens, and a great place to watch a match, Ryan's Daughter is definitely worth a visit. Dogba's verdict: Great football atmosphere, friendly staff, plenty of TVs, and an excellent place to spend a lazy weekend afternoon.

If you come in the early evening, say 6 or 7 pm, the bar is empty save for a few patrons. During the weekend, though, it's packed. This place has beers on tap, and the bartender will make a Shirley Temple for the people who don't drink as much or at all. If you're hungry, they also offer some pub fare, including a shepherd's pie and french fries. Although both are delicious, I will note that the fries costs $10, which I find to be a bit much, considering they are nothing special, just regular fries not dissimilar to McDonald's. Still, Ryan's Daughter is a neighborhood favorite, and if you're looking for a place to sit and drink, come exactly as you are. You'll be welcomed.
