I always have a fun time at biddys. I especially love their bingo and coming during the holiday time. The decor for the holidays is phenomenal. This is the epitome of a quaint neighborhood bar. It's small, but big enough for a small group. It's not loud so you can have a conversation. The bartender is busy but not too busy to give you their attention. There really isn't much better than an Irish bar. Not being on the avenue lends to it the feeling of being a hidden gem. We came here for trivia on Thursday and it was extremely packed! I would recommend getting there over an hour early to hold a table. It was super fun and chaotic, but the drinks were cheap and good. I don't like to write bad reviews, but I left this place crying after getting yelled at by one of their (male) bartenders for something I didn't do. Bars should not allow their staff to treat people like shit. I also work in customer service and if I treated someone that way, I would be fired. read more

During a visit to nyc, my sister in law and brother suggested that we check biddyss. After the Christmas train show at the botanical garden we ended up heading to biddys to hang out. This was her go to place when shE lived in Manhattan. Right when you walk up you see a big chalkboard sign that says jingle juice this way. I later learned that this is a rotating thing and if you follow them on IG you can see the clever sayings. The inside is on the small side but I think we came on the perfect night because I didn't feel crowded. The bartender was awesome, he kept our drinks full and told some entertaining stories. We always have a good time at Biddy's. Our neighbourhood bar that's more of an extension of our living room. They're a ton of places on the UES that are total bougie nightmares but Biddy's keeps is simple. The bartenders are chill and funny and the whole environment is very Cheers-y. Happy Hour ends at 8 and there have been a couple nights I've lost more than a few hours in this bar. read more

When I went on a relatively mild fall evening, they even had tables outside and people sitting inside and outside could play the bingo games (they had a microphone so you could hear, even outside). Their drink selection is fun with many sweet and seasonal options available- think spiked cider and a frozen pumpkin drink. I enjoyed the spiked cider. Cute little pub on the UES. Not big, doesn't stand out, just serves good beer, has a jukebox, a dartboard, and a few hightops. It's no frills and exactly the kind of bar we were looking for on a rainy Saturday night (this was after we realized our beloved The Duck in East Harlem was recently shut down). The prices here are cheap (especially for NYC). Bartender is friendly. Bathrooms are clean. It's a good spot if all you're looking to do is grab a drink or three and catch-up with some friends. Biddy's is the perfect local pub - I came in on a rainy day to finish up some work and Biddy's couldn't have been better. The bartender was incredibly kind, charged my phone behind the bar, and poured me a couple glasses of wine. He said there was a $20 minimum to use a credit/debit card. After finishing both glasses I went to close out and he reminded me of the limit. It was at this moment I realized each glass was only $5! He was kind enough to let me close out under $20. Greatest bar ever. I lost my purse here and the very kind and handsome bartender held it for safe keeping until I realized it was gone 4 hours later. He did not steal it or sell it for a pretty penny which he very much could have done. That's some good staffing. Beyond this, this place was super cutely decorated for Christmas. The pseudo-pub cues make Tiddy's feel cozy unlike most dive bars which can have a feeling best characterized as "sticky." I just recently found this place with a friend. First off, we came with the intention of watching a sporting event-- but got wrapped up in Trivia that the bar was sponsoring. The mood was electrifying and the pours were heavy. Laughs were shared and smiles were exchanged. Needless to say, if you want a bar where you feel like you instantly belong-- come to Biddys. This isn't even the main reason I love this place. The honest truth is that I left my backpack behind when I left the bar. (Clearly drunk) This may not be a big deal for most people, but I am writer. I carry my laptop with me at all times. I was in shambles when I realized I didn't have my bag! The bar found a way to contact me and I was able to retrieve it later on that night. All in all, a place where you can get a great cocktail and pick up a few new friends along the way is rare in a city that reminds you every single day just how big it is. I love this Bar. Came here last night based on a friends recommendation and the entire night felt like an intimate affair. The drinks are pretty cheap, and the the digital jukebox was a huge hit considering it had so many amazing "non-radio" hits I love to listen to, and for those into the mainstream things.. you have that option aswell. As mentioned by, uumm everyone! this place is TINY. But that makes it even better. Biddy's is a true old-school bar that, if I lived anywhere in Manhattan would be my home. I'd line my nest there with beer and trivia sheets from Mad Tim-the trivia master. My buddy and I decided to meet up there for trivia and he arrived a few minutes after it started and the no phone rule was in effect. No phone access is like living in the stone age, tapping on windows in the vain attempt to get his attention while he calls me outside. Tim gave me a special dispensation and let me use my phone to call and bring him in. Their house beer is pretty good and at only $4 bucks is a GREAT deal. Having your 4th beer on the house is an even GREATER deal-it is a delightfully old-school bar tradition that is alive and well here at Biddy's. Despite the small bar, everyone there is really friendly and it's really a great neighborhood place that's still super friendly to new comers. The only downside is that it's small and it filled up when there were 2 large groups and there's no food. read more

Awesome neighborhood pub that I'd been meaning to check out since it's about a two minute walk from my apartment. It is teeny tiny inside- smaller than I expected, but that adds to the charm I think. The mixed drinks are big (as in served in pint glasses- just how I like it) and the atmosphere is very relaxed. I've been coming here for years, starting in 2009. Had always been a great bar with friendly bartenders and a place to listen to music. Tonight, I came to drink a beer and listen to music, put $10 in the jukebox and... Nothing. Bartender came over, looked at the jukebox, said it wasn't his problem as the bar doesn't own it and he couldn't do anything. Not only did the bartender do absolutely nothing to make it right, like offer a round on the house or something, but he then left the jukebox on, so some other poor sap could poor money into it. This is one of the places where you exchange US currency for alcohol. The problem with this place is that EVERY SINGLE PERSON in attendance was drinking! It's like, I get it, ok? You don't have to shove your lifestyle choices in my face. At first I was like, you have to be kidding, this has to be a joke, right? (Not sure who I was talking to at the time, but has NEVER stopped me.) I decided to take matters into my hands and find out the truth for myself. So, what I did was, was walk around the bar (it's really small, hence the name), and check out every single patron in the bar. Sure enough, they were all drinking a beverage with some form of alcohol in it. But something still didn't feel right: My Spidey sense was tingling (later I discovered the tingling sensation was actually a nasty bout of psoriasis). SO, I took it upon myself to take a hearty sip from each and every glass to just to be sure I wasn't be filmed for one of those reality TV prank shows on TruTV.
