Why oh why haven't I been here before?? Oh yeah- maybe parking during lunch hour - BUT ... sooo worth it My colleague and I opted to both get a combo and an add on to get to try multiple items. Ok. My first bite was the OL dumplings - delicious and juicy with the first bite. I couldn't wait to dive into more. And - damn - the fried chicken dumplings. Can I sweat here? Holy "@&$($&@& BAM!! Wet-licious! Fan tas tic!! I couldn't believe the flavor in my mouth. Then Thai chili wontons - not too spicy. Just right and soft and flavorful. Rice with huge perfectly cooked shrimp! And the bulgogi burrito - I had no idea what I was in store for - seriously- flavor and texture and juicy and lightly fried to perfection. I cannot wait to bring more people here. And try different things. But more fried chicken dumplings. The guy at the counter, and I regret I didn't get his name, was super helpful about choosing items and getting everything right!!

My wife and I stopped here for dinner and ordered the OG boiled dumplings (ground pork and chives) and chicken fried rice (which included eggs, peas, green onions, carrots and sesame seeds). Even though we dined in, we were served the dishes in to-go packaging. The food was very good --- the dumplings were well-prepared and the fried rice hit the spot --- and the portion size for the price was good value. Plus, the chili sauce at the table was tasty. The service from the woman at the counter was fast and efficient. The ambiance wasn't much: it looked like a once-stylish space that hadn't been maintained very well. The chairs were noticeably worn out. Still, for a fair-priced and quick meal, it's a solid choice.

Interior has a cool mural on the ceiling! Cashiers are friendly and service is fast. The portions are great especially for the student meal. I felt that the fried rice was way too salty, but the dumplings are quite good. I recommend if you need a quick meal at the UTC!

We came over here after the Elite event at Tenori a week ago. Their dumplings appealed to my hubs and when we asked the cashier for recommendation, he mentioned their most popular is the Fried chicken. While the filling was pretty good, the wrapper/shell was thick and rubbery. If they were to perfect the latter, I am confident more clients will come back and enjoy these dumplings even more!

Chinese Sausage Fried Rice..mid, nothing to write home about.

Don't get the pork belly rice bowl; it's a complete disappointment. The Chinese sausage fried rice is undercooked and crunchy. Overpriced for what they offer.

Really enjoyed my experience here. My sister and I shared the longanisa and we each got a beef roll!! The staff member was really friendly and helpful, and the food was soooooo good!

Ordered the original OG dumplings, longanisa dumplings and chinese sausage fried rice to go & this place did not disappoint! My kids loved the chinese sausage fried rice and devoured the OG dumplings! The longanisa ones were too much flavor for the kids to handle but I enjoyed them

This review is for their food truck. Mad dumplings absolutely crushed it at our company event for around 150 people. The service was insanely fast with less than a 5 minute wait from ordering to food in hand, even with a crowd. I overheard multiple people saying "Wow, my order is ready?!" Which says everything. The staff was friendly, efficient and clearly knew how to keep things moving without sacrificing quality. And the food? Incredible with hefty portions. I heard multiple people praising the dumplings. Delicious dumplings, lightening fast service and genuinely nice people running the truck. Fen was the coordinator who was also overseeing the event, was quick to answer all our catering inquiries and made wonderful suggestions. Mad Dumplings was a huge hit and I'd happily book them again for another event.

It was so yummy! I got a student discount, but without a discount it can get pricey. Otherwise, it's a small and intimate setting. Cool spot to check out, even for one time.

Was in the area and decided to give Mad Dumplings a try. The menu looked promising! We decided to go with the family meal - I believe it comes with your choice of 5 items. So got the OG dumplings, the fried chicken dumplings, longanisa dumplings, bulgogi rice bowl and the Chinese Sausage Fried Rice We selected to have the OG & Longanisa ones pan fried, but they did not have the nice crisp I was hoping for. They barely had any browning. The bulgogi rice bowl wasn't very good. The bulgogi was on the tough side and was not very flavorful. The Chinese sausage fried rice had good flavor if you had a piece of the sausage in your scoop, otherwise it was bland. It's not like how grandma used to make it. The employee brought out 2 dishes that did not belong to us and left it on our table and walking away - so we waited til he came back out to let him know they did not belong to us. The menu looks great on paper, but the execution was a let down. The food was ok, it wasn't bad by any means. But, there are better dumpling places in OC.

Overall picture of the RAW dumplings.

Unless you like your pork RAW, and eating PLASTIC, I would not recommend this place to anyone. I ordered a 10pc OG fried dumpling to-go, waited 10-15 minutes, and when I opened the container I saw a blue PLASTIC SHARD right on the dumplings. The lady at the front offered for it to be remade. Another 10-15 minutes later, I opened the container and they FORGOT a dumpling. 13.95 (with tax) for 10 dumplings is about $1.40 each when rounded up, so I asked for my one. Another 10-15 minutes later, my 1 dumpling (just 1) came out. Once I FINALLY got my food and bit into the dumpling, and the inside was SLIMEY. Keep in mind, pork should be cooked thoroughly, it should NOT BE SLIMEY. When I confronted them one last time, and the lady at the front offered me a full refund and brought out the chef to look. He said sorry, but did not look very apologetic and slipped back into the kitchen. There is no excuse for this clear health-code violation. I also spent 45 minutes of my time just waiting for them to cook my food right, and in the end they failed. If you took so long to make my food, why is MY FOOD RAW?

Mad Dumplings is a spot that offers unique options of dumplings and also rice dishes. I always pass by this place when I walk around UTC but never got to officially try until last Thursday, which I came around 12pm with a friend and the store was pretty empty but did have more people as we were eating. Out of the four dumpling options, I opted for the longanisa because other than the fried chicken dumpling, the other ones have chives in them, which I was hesitant to get since I don't really like chives. My friend wanted to get the chili oil wontons, but apparently the staff member told us that they didn't have wontons at the moment and he was not sure when they would get it. My friend was excited to try the wontons so she was a bit disappointed, but she ended up getting the fried chicken dumplings. Most people I see get takeout, but there is also some bar seating for those who want to eat in person like I did with my friend. The longanisa came in 10 pieces, while the fried chicken was the kind that had 6 pieces instead but came in larger pieces than the longanisa, but both were filling enough for me and my friend. The longanisa was pretty good, though I was initially surprised by how the pork sausage had a hint of sweetness and maybe spice, making it both savory and sweet. It tasted better as I ate more. It came with a spicy sauce that was pretty good too, but I mostly ate the dumplings by itself since it was already flavorful. I was also initially hesitant when seeing there were jalapenos since you usually don't see jalapenos in dumplings, but thankfully it was just put on the top and I could just take it out myself. I tried a piece of the fried chicken dumpling from my friend and it was good too, it had a nice crunch to it and the chicken itself was soft. We would describe it to be more like fried chicken but in a dumpling shape. My friend said she enjoyed it with the sauce but she also liked it even without the sauce. Overall, I would recommend it if you're craving dumplings from the plaza and it's a good casual place to eat with friends. It's a place where I would come every now and then, so if I get to try again, I would like to give their other dumplings a chance.

The restaurant strikes a…read moregreat balance between casual comfort food and high-quality ingredients, and every visit has been consistently enjoyable. The star of the menu is definitely the pho. The broth is rich, flavorful, and clearly simmered with care--not overly salty or greasy like some places. The meats are tender, portions are generous, and the noodles always have the perfect texture. If you're a first-time visitor, I highly recommend trying one of their signature pho bowls. Their garlic noodles are another standout. Perfectly seasoned with a buttery garlic flavor and a slight savory kick, they pair incredibly well with the grilled meats. The shaken beef and grilled pork are both excellent options if you're looking for something beyond traditional pho. One thing that really sets Sup Noodle apart is the variety of appetizers and sides. The crispy egg rolls are packed with flavor, and the wings are surprisingly good--crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, and coated with just the right amount of sauce. Don't skip the house sauces either; they elevate every dish. The restaurant itself is modern, clean, and welcoming. Even during busy lunch and dinner hours, the staff does a great job keeping things moving and maintaining a friendly atmosphere. Service has always been attentive without feeling rushed. A few tips for first-time visitors: * Expect a wait during peak lunch and dinner times, especially on weekends. * The garlic noodles are absolutely worth adding to your order. * If you're dining with a group, order several appetizers to share. * Parking can get busy, but turnover is usually quick. Overall, Sup Noodle Bar delivers excellent food, generous portions, and consistently great service. Whether you're craving a comforting bowl of pho, flavorful garlic noodles, or simply looking for a reliable restaurant in Irvine, this place is well worth the visit. I'll definitely be coming back.

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful,…read moreit was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much.

I'd personally recommend the nem spring rolls, caramelized fish clay pot, and egg rolls. The shaken beef had good flavor but was a little overcooked and was cut in too small of pieces in my opinion. Overall, a place I'd come back to. Tons of options to choose from!

Bottom Line Up Front: If you love mala (the numbing and…read morespicy seasoning derived from Sichuan peppercorn and chili peppers), Six Alley will deliver the heat! The Food: As its name denotes, Six Alley Xi'an Biang Biang Noodle specializes in noodles, which is handcrafted in house. Ironically enough, I decided to have one of their burgers instead because that's such an unusual option. Though, I can attest that the noodles are delicious after having a taste of my friend's noodles. Now, back to my burger. I ordered the Cumin Beef RoujiaMo, which is stir-fried beef mixed with cumin and chilies and served on a crispy flatbread. It's listed on the menu under Asian burgers, which is actually inaccurate. After all, there's no lettuce, tomato, mayo, or any condiments that one would come to expect from a burger. It's more accurate to call it a "Chinese sandwich," which would help set the right expectations. Semantics aside, the Cumin Beef RoujiaMo was tasty. The meat was tender and the flatbread was crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. I quite enjoyed it. Just note, it is spicy! I asked the server how spicy and she said, "Mild." That's "Asian chili-lover mild," folks, not western mild. By American standards, it's more of a medium spice level. The Location: It's located in a small strip mall off MacArthur Boulevard near the 55 Freeway. It's not difficult to find, but it is difficult to find parking -- especially during peak hours on the weekend. To make matters worse, the parking stalls themselves are narrow. If you normally drive a large truck or a wide SUV, consider taking a sedan or smaller vehicle if you have one. The Service: For an Asian establishment, the customer service was surprisingly solid. I say this as an Asian myself; old-school Chinese restaurants are known for having employees with non-existent customer service. But this crew was young and understood that being friendly was essential for western restaurants. The staff didn't check up on us or offer exceptional service, but they were accommodating and knowledgeable when whenever I flagged them down. The Setting: Even though it's a smallish-medium restaurant, there's a decent amount of tables to accommodate a decent number of people at one time. It's clean and nicely decorated. However, the bathroom was another story. Sure, it had soap, paper towels, and toilet paper, but the back of the faucet was coming apart due to corrosion and it looked like the toilet bowl hadn't been scrubbed in months. Overall, a shocking sight considering how tidy the dining area was. The Conclusion: If you love spicy Chinese food, you'll love Six Alley. While I don't, the dish I had and the customer service was good enough for me to want to go back and try some of the other dishes. It was an enjoyable experience overall.
