Mango sticky rice mocktail

If you're craving thai food, this is a MUST try spot!! Every dish I've tried is amazing, and the service is great. The fried chicken and sticky rice (Gai todd hat yai) is the perfect appetizer & my favorite dish is the Pad see ew because I love the hint of sweetness it has. The drunken noodles and the Massaman curry are also delicious & packed with flavor. You're missing out if you haven't tried Hanuman!

This place is so good, but just be prepared because the wait is always long. I genuinely don't even know what a good time to come is because every time I've gone, there's still been a bit of a wait. But honestly, the food is good enough that it still feels worth it. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, which I liked, and our server was really nice and gave us a lot of recommendations, including a drink that I can't remember the name of but was actually really good. Overall, definitely a spot I'd come back to, I'd just mentally prepare for the wait first.

One of my favorite places for Thai fusion. Beautiful presentation with great flavors. It is a very small restaurant and it gets packed quick!! They also own the restaurant next door which is a Korean Japanese Thai fusion so you can choose between two menus which is cool.

I can see why there was a 60 minute wait on a wednesday night! the food was great and presented very well. I started with the mango coco mocktail and then we got the pad see ew with chicken, the khao-soi and the massaman as the main dishes. I really enjoyed the pad see ew and it was very flavorful and saucy. for dessert we got the mango sticky rice which was beautiful and they give you a lot of mango. we sat outside which was nice with the heaters and the vibes. our server was super funny and friendly to us!

Highly recommend to be on the waitlist as it gets very busy!! This is my second time here and it's actually so good compared to my first time (a while ago). I came HUNGRY. Green Papaya Salad- Delish!!! I got medium spice but will do one level higher next time! Just the right amount of spice, enough to make you drink water AND still enjoy it! Hanuman's Ceviche- soooo good!! It's definitely a MUST TRY. I will be getting this every time I go. It's light and refreshing, especially with a slight citrus splash! Pad Kee Mao- WAIT A MINUTE, HOLD UP. WHAT?! I usually get Pad Thai but decided to switch it up and I am glad I did!! IT'S SO YUMMY! So much umami and very flavorful!! Panang w/ Shrimp- My go-to from all the curries. It's a little sweet and salty. That balancing contrast where you get the best of both worlds. Khao Soi- I'm not a huge fan of Khao Soi. I could never eat this dish by itself, I think it's too heavy. I did have a small bowl though, it was good!!

Favorite Thai restaurant in SoCal! Obsessed with their Chicken Satay, Karee, Drunken Noodles, and Mango Sticky Rice. Inside is very nice but a bit small. I always love sitting outside with the fresh air - the staff always keeps every table shaded and will adjust the umbrellas throughout your meal. Overall the staff are so nice and on top of everything! Only caution is to be mindful of their hours and how busy they get. They open later in the day and are closed on Sundays. For that reason, there's a significant wait during the times they are open (for a walk-in during peak times, expect 1hr minimum...) Will be back again, and again.....and again.

First timer! Easy parking. Was worried about waiting long but surprisingly didn't have to at 630pm for a weeknight. Very friendly and attentive staff. Our server was absolutely fantastic (bummed I can't remember her name). We were seated outside with strong heating lamps. Tasty drinks, the food is yummy, and the presentation was beautiful.

Khao soi Pad Thai (shrimp) Crying tiger Coco mango (nonalcoholic)

Went for linner so we missed the rush and got seated right away. Service was super quick and attentive the whole time. Khao Soi was really good. Noodles stayed bouncy even sitting in the broth for a while. It was a bit spicier than I expected (and I removed the chili crisp at the start), but the curry broth was rich and flavorful. Slightly salty, but the lime helped balance it out. The chicken was the star though! So tender and juicy, literally falling off the bone. Pad Thai had a nice chew, not mushy at all. Flavor leaned a bit more smoky, almost like pad see ew vibes? Shrimp were plump and not fishy. Crying Tiger had perfectly cooked steak. It was super tender and easy to cut, almost melts in your mouth. Only thing was the sauce was kinda lacking. Needed more of it or just stronger flavor. They didn't have mango sticky rice, so we got the coco mango drink instead. Very strong mango flavor, kinda like frozen mango, and it actually reminded me of mango sticky rice. Overall had good mango flavor and creaminess, but def on the sweeter side. Not sure if you can adjust the sweetness but would've been fine at like 50% sweetness.

Worth the wait but just go 10 minutes before they open at 2:59. You could also join waitlist on Yelp app if you're a few miles away. There's limited tables inside but they have some tables outside as well. I've had this place bookmarked for a while and finally decided to try. Definitely so glad I finally came here and will be coming again. Everything was soo delicious! Started with mango sticky rice mocktail, very tasty and refreshing but it's like mango juice with baked rice cake pieces and some coconut cream on top. Chicken satay was slathered in peanut sauce and every bite was so tender even though it's chicken breast. Great to pair with rice. Gai Todd Hat Yai fried chicken was so crispy and very fresh to order, it was still steaming hot while we were eating it. This is definitely messy hand food because it just tastes so good getting a bit of sticky rice, fried onions, some chicken and dipping everything in their chili sauce - elite combo. Khao Soi was very creamy with a kick, you get that nice flavorful coconut base. Downside is that there's only 1 chicken drumstick as protein but on the plus side it was extremely tender. Chicken thai fried rice was good and a big hefty portion however I didn't care for this that much, it was a normal fried rice to me. Thai ice coffee was good - not too sweet! Had a hint of grass jell flavor imo. Finished with chalalalala - feeds like a family or at least 4 people or more. Did not expect this size and it was so hard to finish lol. Basically thai tea shaved ice with some dense bread, topped with evaporated milk, grass jelly and cornflakes. This one is not that bad but probably wouldn't get again. Never had a Thai tea shaved ice like this before

Great find in a strip mall. It's actually two sister restaurants with separate menus that you can order from at either location. No reservations so be sure to hop on the Yelp waitlist if you plan to dine in for dinner -- it was busy on a Tuesday evening! Very friendly staff with clean, fresh ingredients. Lacked traditional Thai flavor punch but overall would go to again.

Recently came back to Hanuman with my friends, and it was a much better experience than I had a few years back. So it is time to update the review. There was a wait, as they were busy, but the hostess was very friendly and apologized multiple times for the wait. I think we waited about 30 min. We got: Papaya salad - 9/10- fresh, tangy, well balanced, and big portion Khao Soi - 9/10- chicken fell off the bone, the curry soup base was bold and heavy Gai Todd hat yai - 9/10- freshly fried chicken, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender meat It's family style, and dishes are great for sharing. Service is friendly. Parking is pretty easy.

Spicy Basil "Pad Ga Pow Kai Dao" showing inside of the fried egg
Kaylee L.

I ordered to go through their website. It indicated the food would be ready in about 25 minutes so that was how long I waited in my car. But when I clicked on the Track My Order link in the email, the status had changed to that the food had been ready about 15 min after I ordered. It was about 6:30pm and there was quite a few people waiting to pick up food as well as to be seated. I am pleased with how well the food was packaged. They came in nice sturdy boxes and came with utensils. I ordered the Spicy Basil "Pad Ga Pow Kai Dao" which came with a fried egg that was perfectly cooked, with a bit of yolk oozing upon first bite. The choice of protein I chose was tofu and I liked that it was firm and cut into bite sized pieces. The basil really made the dish flavorful. It wasn't very spicy though. I really enjoyed the Pad See Ew also. The noodles were not overcooked. However I am surprised it had only a few leafy greens and doesn't include more vegetables like some other places do. You do have the option of adding more vegetables though. I would be interested in returning and trying out other dishes.

Tofu Panang
Leslie M.

My new fave Thai spot when I come back home. They are a little more on the pricier side but they have quality ingredients. My fave was the shrimp fried rice. It was super savory and had a really good flavor. The shrimp pad Thai was well balanced and was on the sweeter side, which I love. The sweet and sour salmon was my brother's favorite. It was fresh and was served with veggies and rice. The tofu pad see ewe was delicious. Tofu is more of the hearty meat texture. The noodles were perfectly charred. The Panang was different, it had more of a citrus lime flavor. It was so good, just different., Service was good and food came out fast., the restaurant is small so be prepared to wait., we ate early at 3 pm so we were sat immediately., I will for sure be back.

I have come to Ini a couple of times whenever I stop by the Orange County area, and my graduation dinner was no exception. What makes them so unique is their perfect balance between Asian flavors and Italian classics. Everything I have tasted here has been delicious and has exceeded my expectations. Something I appreciate, besides the aesthetic interior, is their unique selection of dishes ranging from innovative pizzas, creamy and original pastas, and bright, flavorful appetizers. Here are a couple of items that I want to shout out: First, the truffle honey bread. I really appreciated the crispiness of the cheese on top and the bounciness of the fluffy bread paired with the sweetness of the honey. It creates a very balanced bite that keeps you wanting more. The raw salmon appetizer was a huge hit with our table. The citrus paired very well with the salmon itself, and even though this is a common appetizer at many fusion restaurants, they really do it right. The beef carpaccio was a great fusion dish and a wonderful nod to the Asian flavors that inspired them. This is a dish I have ordered multiple times, and it always hits the spot. Out of all the pizzas, I enjoyed the mala lamb the most. It actually was not too spicy, with a nice peppery flavor. Sometimes lamb can be a bit overpowering; however, when topped with the mala honey, everything balanced out perfectly. I also want to note that I have never seen this flavor combination anywhere else, and I think it is definitely something you need to try if you are here. The short rib gnocchi was another favorite of mine. The gnocchi was fluffy and cloud-like and paired really well with the umami-rich, savory flavor of the short rib. The meat itself was very tender and pulled apart easily, making every bite delicious. There are other dishes I could mention, but I do want to shout out the scallop risotto. This one definitely surprised me, as I am not usually a big risotto eater. I appreciated the creaminess of the rice mixed with the scallop, and even though it was a cream-based dish, it did not feel heavy at all. The service was very friendly, and everything came out in a timely manner, which I especially appreciated considering we had a big group. Overall, I will always try to find a reason to come back here, as this place really does take the cake for me when it comes to Kei concept restaurants.

I also appreciate how on top of it the servers always are and how they make sure you are well taken care of. Nep is known for their Banh Mi Chao, which is kind of like Bo Ne but with an "everything but the kitchen sink" vibe. I definitely recommend first-time visitors try this dish since it is really what makes them stand out. The tenderness of the beef mixes so well with the sauce, tomatoes, and pâté, while the banh mi acts as the perfect dipping vessel that ties everything together. Besides the Banh Mi Chao, there are so many other dishes that are equally mouthwatering, such as their Crab Toast (with a generous amount of crab and a creamy mouthfeel) and their new steamed egg dish with pork floss (a salty flavor balanced with custardy egg). We came with reservations on Saturday night before Mother's Day. The first thing I thought when I walked in was that there was a live band playing with bad speakers because the music was so loud. But when I saw there was no band, I thought maybe their speakers were broken because the music had that scratchiness to it. Then I realized it was a DJ spinning vinyls with foreign music from the 1950's with that scratchy vintage sound on full blast (think shrill trumpets and shrill voices.) Now don't get me wrong, the music was wonderful and very unique ( again, a lot of foreign songs) with a few I even knew...my husband and I loved most of the songs that were played. HOWEVER not when it's so loud that we can't even hear our own thoughts! I felt annoyed within the first 5 minutes of being seated when my family and I had to keep repeating ourselves, and my husband even went to check the rest of the place to see if it was any quieter anywhere else, but it was blaring music everywhere. I ended up ordering for my whole table of 8 people because we couldn't even hear each other over the music to make suggestions on what to order. My adult kids (all in their 20's) kept apologizing for recommending this place for my mother's day dinner. But oh my, the food was delicious---practically everything I ordered was amazing! OMG the hangar steak skewers, pork belly skewers, iberico pork secreto steak, little gem salad, and their bread with goatmilk -butter were my faves! We also had the short ribs and the pork fried rice with prawns but they were mid...nothing to write home about. This would've been a great place to come have a drink at the bar for happy hour or even late at night on a weekend since they open until 1am on thursday, friday, saturday... but don't come for dinner unless you bring earplugs and learn sign language or know how to read lips because there will be no conversations over dinner unless it's just to the person sitting next to you. Even so, I noticed the young couple next to us looking very annoyed-- they got up and left after quickly finishing up their one cocktail while the speakers blared out an instrumental piece of a girl moaning the whole time until she climaxed. Heck---I'll have whatever SHE'S having lol So plz keep the music down several notches until after 10pm, and let the rest of us enjoy our dinner so that we can sing praises on how delicious everything was. Until you do, I think I'll cross this place off my list for now and revisit again sometime in the FAR future.

What makes Nep truly remarkable is that even as it has gone through numerous menu changes over time, its core identity never wavers. It is the rare kind of establishment that adapts and evolves without ever losing its edge, ensuring that no matter what iteration of the menu you walk into, you are guaranteed an exceptional dining experience.

I came to this amazing restaurant for my birthday back in October and was blown away…read more Our server was great The food was great (get the table side tomahawk, it was amazing. They cook it right there and then put it on a sizzling salt block on your table to finish cooking) And you can't beat the location So, when my south coast plaza advisor sent me an invite to a Gucci event held at this amazing restaurant, I just had to go. The ambiance is top notch, 5 stars just for the atmosphere alone Extremely clean Amazing bar and drinks Great staff Now, to their private room where this was hosted. Gucci, was so kind to give us all gift bags But the real spoiling came from AnQi bistro! Every station we went to, had a different food and drink pairing At the first station they had Truffle sashimi with caviar Paired with their tumeric drink Next up Lavender mojito Paired with lobster and shrimp dumplings Next was Grilled octopus and papaya salad Paired with a drink called -spring breeze Last up Chive and leek dumplings Paired with lychee cloud to drink (This was actually the only thing I could have because I don't eat seafood. And it was a 10 out of 10) Everyone was raving about the food and how beautiful the interior is. I really can't stress how nice of a place it is. It has a very laid back, upscale and trendy vibe This is one of my favorite places to eat at south coast plaza, hands down. And it's conveniently located inside Bloomingdales. It doesn't get better than that

Let me start with what this place absolutely nails: the ambiance. Walking in felt like stumbling…read moreinto an enchanted forest at midnight, think fairy tale vibes, moody lighting, and decor so gorgeous I actually stopped mid-step to take it all in. Truly, whoever designed this space deserves their own Michelin star. Now... the food. The shrimp dumplings were fine. The shrimp were a respectable size, no complaints there, but "fine" and "memorable" are very different zip codes, and these stayed firmly in the former. The garlic noodles arrived looking a little lonely (small portion) with noodles that were slightly past their ideal moment of glory, accompanied by 4 whole shrimp. For $55. I'll let that marinate. The filet mignon dumpling was probably the highlight of the food lineup, genuinely decent, though it leaned a touch salty, like the seasoning had big ambitions. Still totally edible, just not the refined experience the price tag implies. On the bright side, the service was solid and shoutout to my server who steered me toward a pear martini that was, honestly, a little gem of a drink. They clearly know their cocktails. Bottom line: come for the atmosphere, stay for a cocktail, and maybe grab dinner somewhere else after. It's a gorgeous spot for pre-drinks and photos, just don't arrive hungry with high culinary expectations. Your wallet will thank you.
