A staple in the Kei Concept family I've been coming to this restaurant since it opened and you had to wait 2 hours minimum to eat. Now, I think Rol its sister restaurant has taken its popularity but overall I would say Sup has never disappointed me in all of its years in opening. High quality food with a fair price and though they don't advertise it anymore, the unlimited noodles is still one of the best parts about eating here. I would say the only thing about SUP, is unlike its sister restaurants, it doesn't have as much of a rotating menu and their limited/seasonal items are a bit hit or miss (personally). But I don't mind because I think their base menu doesn't need much straying. The service is top notch like all of their restaurants but the restaurant itself tends to be a bit loud (like all of their restaurants). Worst service I have ever experienced on a Saturday lunch on August 15th. We signed up for the waitlist, but still had to wait another 20-30 minutes after our table was ready. Then, when we finally came into the restaurant, they asked us to walk back outside because they still needed to set up the table. I have no idea what needed to be set up when the table was already cleaned, especially when we had hungry, impatient children with us. Once we were finally seated and ordered our food, it took forever to arrive. Whenever we tried to get a server's attention, they seemed to avoid eye contact. We at least waited for 40 mins for our dishes to come to the table. The combination pho was definitely tasty. The broth and pickled onions really tell a story, and the food itself was enjoyable. I understand mistakes happen, but instead of taking the dish back and remaking it, the staff simply brings me the shaken-style ingredients in a separate bowl and tells me to add them myself. That might be acceptable if it happened quickly, but on average, it takes 10 to 15 minutes for the ingredients to arrive. By then, my pho has already started to get cold, which takes away from the experience. What makes it even more frustrating is that I usually wait 30 to 45 minutes for a table. After dealing with the same issue during my last three visits, I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon. When the food is prepared correctly, it's delicious, and I understand why this place is so popular. There's a decent amount of seating inside and it's very clean and cute, just very busy all the time. This location is near a lot of different stores restaurants and dessert places. Remember they have unlimited pho noodle refills when you need more with your broth. The broth: AMAZING you can tell it's cooked for a day or more. I got the brisket pho which had a perfect amount of meat to noodle ratio. The meat was tender and flavorful. The cilantro and scallion garnish is just phenomenal with the perfect broth. We also got the beef belly dry noodle. This was very good and similar to vermicelli noodles dishes. It had nice sauces on the side and well cooked flavorful meat. We got shrimp spring rolls and shaken house fries. Both are yummy. The spring rolls could come with more shrimp. It's more veggies than shrimp. We also got the lychee lemonade which was not too sweet which is good and super refreshing. We ordered the herbal iced tea too which had a pandan flavor. The broth was extremely oily but was still flavorful. It was filling and hearty. The service could be better. When seated, my table didn't get water cups. I noticed others got it as they were seated. I asked twice before receiving water cups. We asked about the unlimited refills and my waitress didn't explain how it worked and left us with "ok how many do you want?" The process wasn't obvious to us. Looked like it took a while to get the refill orders logged - perhaps they were short staffed? My party waited a while for the refills to come, to the point where our broth got cold. After inquiring about the status of the refills, the waitress defensively explained "I already put it in, you have to wait until it gets cooked." That response didn't put my party at ease because we still didn't know how much longer we had to wait. The manager later delivered the noodle refills and explained there were kitchen hiccups, likely in an attempt to de-escalate. The friendliness eased tension, a professional way of handling customer frustration. We ordered two more refills with him immediately and they arrived quickly. However, the dining experience still felt unorganized because two additional refills arrived at my table that were not previously requested. When it came time to paying the bill, the approach was also unclear. Some folks paid at the front so I waited there. The staff chilled in the back area and I couldn't get their attention, but later was told to pay at the table. I also heard gossiping in the room headed to the bathroom, and the staff quickly hushed when I passed by. It created an awkward, uncomfortable atmosphere. There is generally a wait here, ranging from 20 minutes - 1 hour and a half on any given night so definitely plan in advance. Upon entering, you can expect to be tended to and your order taken relatively quickly. There are a lot of tables here to seat parties of various sizes. However, the noise is a little loud in here due to all the people that they can seat. I always get the combination pho shaken style here and it's definitely enough to fill me up. One thing to note about this place is that similar to its sister franchise (Kin Izakaya), they do unlimited noodle refills here! Definitely take advantage of that if you have the stomach for it. Much like the other two locations I've visited, SUP did not disappoint at all! I love the variety the menu offered and options how you can further enhance your meal! We also did not anticipate such large bowls when we asked for 2 so we could more easily share our meals, but it was perfect. Where to even start with our meals? The beef belly dry noodles were delicious, a little tricky to mix but once it was, absolute perfection! Everything was so fresh and delicious. We were so happy and it could easily fill us both up. The Anthony Bourdain pho was perfection. The wok fried scallion oil was a Touch i would have never thought about until I came here. It really enhanced the overall flavor of the pho and meal! We picked up a a filet limo saltado and filet garlic noodle to go and if you love a good tender steak, definitely get either of these dishes. Upon stating our allergies, they helped us with food suggestions and limitations. It's honestly the little things that go above and beyond, as well as their friendly service. They weren't overtly checking up on us, and had just the right amount of interaction and help. Food: 3 of us got the beef belly pho and one got the beef rib, my son got a kids mean. Upon receiving our bowls you'd think by looking at the clarity of the broth that it wouldn't be super flavorful, but it absolutely was. We waited around 20 minutes for the second bowl of pho until we could ask our server about it, and it seems like they forgot about it entirely. It was hard to call our server to our table the entire visit because all of the employees were kind of huddled up chatting together with their backs to all the customers. Usually wouldn't complain about this as I've worked in customer service before and get it, but the worker who answered the phone when my mom had questions about our Yelp waitlist was pretty curt as well and she was upset about it. Consistently filling and delicious! Our go to pho spot in Irvine. We checked into the waitlist on yelp in advance and got seated shortly. Ordered the rib bone pho and beef belly pho. The rib bone had a good portion of meat with 2 bones. Meat came off the bone easily and it was very flavorful. Beef belly is one of our go-tos and very tender, not too chewy with good balance of meat and fat. It's always nice that there is unlimited refills on noodles as well and we left feeling very full. The service was pretty good as usual, they were attentive and checked if we needed anything, more water, or more noodles consistently. Will continue to come back for pho cravings! read more

One of my go-to places in Irvine with consistent food quality. After trying many items on the menu, my favourite is the rib bone pho (shaken style). The ribs have plenty of meat that is fall-off-the-bone tender. However, the Anthony Bourdain pho has the best soup base that is rich, smoky and garlicky. I also love how they offer unlimited noodles with all phos. Their lomo saltados and garlic noodles are great as well, but I personally prefer the pho more. The restaurant is clean and spacious with good service, but beware that the wait can be fairly long. read more

We ate here for the first time this week and Chase was our server. He was so attentive remembered everything that we requested. My husband had the pho combination and I had short rib. Tastiest broth we have ever had. read more
