Very good Thai food. I reckon it's more of a street food / comfort food type restaurant than like a Hanuman or MANAAO. Recently visited this establishment twice, 2nd time to confirm my findings. Thai food here is delicious. While there are a few other spots in town that I would dub them supreme but for their offering, service, and ambiance, this is a great spot for business lunch, catch up, or family over delicious food. For this location, it is a bit small with limited seating. For large parties or families, you may have a longer wait time since tables need to be shuffled around. One of my favorite things to pair with our meal is their spice rack. If you are able to handle a bit of heat, ask for it and introduce the pickle chili to your dish. It elevates flavor with contrast quite well. Pad See Ew and Crab fried rice is what we ordered. The first visit had beef salad which paired great with the rest of the meal. Overall, stop by this location for good eats. FYI, parking can be tricky so be mindful about peak hours and carpool. read more

I've been during to Siam Station for a few years now, and I'm happy to see they've been expanding! Everyone on the menu is delicious, and this last time I went I ordered a chicken Pad See Ew ($16), Yellow Curry ($16) and Mango Sticky Rice ($12) for dessert. The Pad See Ew has great flavor, although I prefer their Pad Thai, the yellow curry came with a side of rice and had a rich coconut taste, and the mango sticky rice was the perfect dessert to end the meal. The staff is always nice, and this particular location has limited seating both inside and outside. Siam station is definitely a place I would recommend if you're craving some Thai food. read more

Well, I guess it was bound to happen. While my food adventures in OC have largely been successful, it was inevitable that I'd end up coming across a place that so many folks like that just didn't hit the mark for me. However, I never would've thought that place was going to be Siam Station. After hearing good things about their spot in Cupertino/the Bay Area from several friends, it felt rather fortuitous when we randomly came across their original location - and with no line in sight! Inside, they've got a cozy sort of vibe and it's cool how they have some outdoor tables set-up as well. As for the menu, it didn't seem all that extensive at a glance, but it has all of the staples you'd expect to find among their appetizers, soups, salads, fried rice, stir fried noodles, noodle soups, curry dishes, entrees, and desserts. -- ZESTY WINGS - Deep Fried Chicken Wings Topped with Crispy Basil and Served with Chili Sauce Easily our favorite dish of the night. The wings were really crispy on the outside and oh so juicy on the inside. Even though there wasn't much of the sauce, which was flavorful but not that spicy, it was fine - the wings were still great without it. -- KHAO SOI with Chicken - Yellow Curry Broth with Egg Noodles and Chicken and Served with Red Onions, Lime, and Pickles Ehh...this was okay, I guess. On the plus side, the chicken was tender and I thought the broth was pretty good - not the best I've had, but better than most. That said, I didn't love the egg noodles, especially the crispy ones after they had soaked up the broth. -- PAD KEE MOW (Drunken Noodles) with Crispy Pork - Flat Rice Noodles Stir Fried with Spicy Basil Garlic Sauce, Bell Peppers, Tomato, Sweet Onion, and Thai Basil I was super excited for this, but it was disappointing. The first thing we noticed was how pale it was and, sadly, the taste matched. Whether it be their garlic sauce or some chilis, this needed more. As for the pork, it was definitely crispy, but a few pieces bordered on dry/burnt. -- MANGO STICKY RICE A little hit, a little miss. The mango was fine (decently sweet, soft), but the sticky rice left us a little wanting. Mainly, I didn't love the glob of coconut cream, was it was pretty thick and viscous, which gave the rice a weird texture/coating to it. As far as service goes, it was uneventfully good. Although there was one point where it was hard to hail someone, it was mostly because the restaurant got increasingly busy and one of the servers was trying to help a group sort something out with their order. Otherwise, our food came out relatively quick and the workers were rather efficient with everything. Despite how we left feeling bummed out by our experience, it had more to do with being underwhelmed than the food actually being "bad". Admittedly, we came in with high hopes/expectations from all of the hype we had heard and it probably didn't help that we had gone to Manaao the night before, which is one of my favorite Thai restaurants anywhere. What's more, I wonder if we just didn't get the best that Siam Station has to offer. I certainly wouldn't be opposed to coming back to find out (and potentially writing an update), but perhaps I'll just try my luck at their spot in Cupertino that my friends like so much. read more

Had a delicious lunch here. I tried the khao soi, Zesty Chicken Wings, Fried Shrimp Rolls, Garlic Green Beans, Crab Fried Rice, and Pad Thai. Every dish we ordered was very flavorful and fresh and I'd order all of them again. The restaurant is bright, a little small, and lively during a weekday lunch. Excited to try different items here as all of the ones we tried did not disappoint! I will say it is better to order family style here and go with a group. This place definitely exceeded expectations. The portions alone are impressive--everything we ordered was easily good for two people, making it great for sharing. The super crab fried rice really lives up to its name. The crab pieces are huge and plump, not skimpy at all, and you can tell they didn't hold back on quality. The fried rice itself is well-seasoned and pairs perfectly with the sweetness of the crab. The pad see ew is another standout. But as we started our lunch, the restaurant slowly started to fill up. Always a good sign. We ordered the Holy Basil Rice with ground beef - this dish came with a fried egg - delicious. We also got the roti with green curry - the green curry was soooo good and the roti was made just right. We also shared the Tom Kha soup with chicken, perfect for a chilly day. Our group ordered some classics like the Pad Thai, Pad See Ew, Tom Yum, and a fried rice. Portions were ok for the prices (high teens per dish) but kinda wished we got more bang for our buck. Flavors were typical for a casual Thai place, as nothing really stood out to me as something I'd get again. A bit on the sweet side for the noodle dishes, would've been nice if they were more savory or had savory components. We sat at an outdoor table that appeared clean, but it's not covered with a tablecloth or anything, and we weren't provided with placemats. By the time you're in your seat, there is already water on your table and they are ready to take your order. The menu is not as extensive as some Thai places, but they have all of the core dishes. The quality and quantity are good. Food tastes great and they are not kidding when it comes to your requested spice level. The place is good for an intimate meal, but also ok for small groups. This little hidden gem is located in the little strip mall thats shared by McDonald's, Arby's, etc. The interior dining area seats about 20 at most, and theres also a few tables outside of the storefront that each can seat up to 4 people. There is plenty of parking, and on a Tuesday night around 6:30pm, they were steadily busy with folks waiting to be seated, and not to mention, they had a ton of pickup and to go orders going on at all times! The food was good, tasted authentic. I ordered the yellow curry with egg noodles and it was delicious. I asked for it extra spicy and found it to be moderately spicy but, nothing note worthy. The curry was rich and thick, and the chicken was decent. The service was efficient, the servers were attentive, and the food came out fairly quickly. I wish that the portions were a bit larger given the price point. Overall a solid hidden gem, in a quiet little plaza, with great thai food with bold flavors. Thai cuisine is literally one of my favs, so I'm mind-blowned by all the peeps who give Siam Station 4+ stars..like have you guys never been to Chiang Rai, Manaao ~ Thai Comfort Food, or Hanuman Thai Eatery??? This place was no comparison. The hubs and I had a rare date night opportunity, so we wanted to try a new place..esp. since we didn't have any kiddos restricting us. I was literally craving Thai and the wait at Chiang Rai was 1.5-2 hrs, so a definite no since we were on a time constraint to pick up my daughter from a hangout with friends, afterwards. There are actually 2 Siam Station locations in Irvine and we went with The District at Tustin Legacy location strictly due to the number of positive reviews and decent pics. Man, were they deceiving. Siam Station is supposedly known for its authentic street food, including dishes like Pad Thai, Khao Soi, and various soups, curries and apps ~ but IMO, it failed to live up to the Yelp hype. This location is in the Corporate Plaza, on the corner of Jamboree Rd & Barranca Pkway. It's a super small space with only a handful of indoor seating. The rest can be found in the make-shift outdoor area, in front of the restaurant. The staff wasn't uberly friendly, but efficient in taking our orders and bringing out the food. Here are the dishes we shared: * Roti & curry appetizer ~ The roti could've been crispier and less oily. And OMG..the curry was sooo salty! I wasn't sure if it was close to the end of the night and our batch happened to be at the bottom of the pot, but geesh..I couldn't eat it. * Chicken satey appetizer ~ Marinated well and I actually liked the peanut sauce & cucumber salad. * Spicy beef salad ~ Refreshing and not bad. Not the best I've ever had, but good. We got medium spice level & it had a good kick. * Crispy pork pad see ew ~ Flavors were ok, nothing too memorable. The crispy pork was anything but that. Terrific Thai at Siam Station. It's super small inside with only a handful of tables, but with a few more outside along the sidewalk. The portions are generous and very well priced. They also have two very interesting sounding ales, a mango sticky rice beer, and a Tom Yum Beer. Most take to go, which we did. This is our second time dining at this restaurant. We came for lunch and ordered Pad See Ew with shrimp, Tom Yum Noodle Soup, and Yellow Curry with Chicken and substituted white rice with roti. The jumbo shrimp was plump and juicy. I did notice that the overall flavor of the food was saltier this time than the last time I visited which is a bit disappointing. Service was good but could be better. I ordered the yellow curry with chicken and wanted roti instead of rice and when the ordered arrived, they still gave us rice. I pointed out the mistake but was told that the curry with roti is only an appetizer. I had to show them that they have the option to substitute the rice with roti written on their menu before they agreed to switch the rice for roti. They also have a strict no outside drinks policy. We had gone to Jam Jam just a few doors down to buy drinks while waiting to be seated. After we seated and ordered, a server firmly told us to put our drinks away when our kids wanted to drink their drinks while waiting for the food. Wow, kind of shocked I missed writing a review for Siam! I was thinking I was going to update a 4-5 star review, but unfortunately I need to give a 2 star for my first review. I've been to Siam a LOT over the past year. Started out great. Usually like to order drunken noodles with chicken, medium spicy. (Sometimes I switch it up and do the tom yum noodles too.) It used to have actual SPICE in medium spicy. Now? This is the 3rd time I've ordered take out of this very dish (drunken noodles with chicken) in the last month and there is just NO SPICE. I put down my fork after 3 bites and just opened up Yelp as I was super let down for the 3rd time in a row. Time to take a break from Siam I guess until they give me some actual SPICE. Thai cuisine is one of my absolute favorite. I just love the combinations is curry, rice, and other dishes that are just packed with flavor and texture. This place popped up when I was looking for a Thai restaurant and I had to check it out. It's a tiny little place with a little seating area. I tried one of every category from the Tom Kha Soup, Panang Curry, Spicy Eggplant, and lastly the Sticky Mango dessert. The soup was very nice and creamy and loved the mushrooms adding flavor to the soup with its umami. The Panang curry was good too and just having it mild allows you to Feel and taste every spice in it. The Spicy Eggplant is one of my favorite dishes and this place does it pretty decently and the sauce on it had a nice bold flavor along with the scent of basil that it's cooked with. Lastly the Sticky Mango Rice dessert is always something I get when I go to Thai places and many times it depends on the flavor of the mango. Usually more on the ripe side tastes sweetest and the best and this place chose a good mango. Realistically it's a 3.5 star as it's slightly above average in my opinion from food and service. Over the weekend, my friends and I got to check out this spot after a long day of playing Pokemon Go. Luckily at 8pm on a Saturday, there was no wait. I don't normally venture out from getting Pad Thai, but our friend is a Thai food expert and ordered a few new items for us to try. We got the papaya pok pok salad, pad Thai, and Ka Pow. There were four of us total, and the three plates were pretty filling! The papaya salad was the star of the show because it was super refreshing on a hot day. One of my favorite thai spots in OC! This time I got their egg rolls, pad thai, drunken noodles, and thai tea. I always get tofu with the noodle dishes, and its always perfectly crispy. I highly recommend the pad thai, and it's not too oily unlike some other places I have been. I think if they asked for spice level, the drunken noodles could have been better. However, they were able to offer us chili sauce which made it more flavorful. Siam station is a small restaurant, so there can be a wait. I recommend bringing a jacket if you're coming in the evening so you could also sit outside. read more

Spicy basil was delicious. Portions were perfect, not too generous but not skimpy either. Ground beef was well seasoned and very flavorful. Also ordered the egg rolls because that's my go-to at all Asian places. I figured if the egg rolls are good then the rest of their food should be as well and these hit the spot. Nice and crispy with Omer of filling. Wait staff is polite and quick to refill water glasses.. the place is small and cozy, but fortunately I arrived at a time when it wasn't too busy so I was able to be seated right away. Great little Thai spot with located near a corporate plaza with plenty of parking. The space has limited seating but there are some seats outside. The wait times can be pretty long during peak hours, but if you get it to go, the weight is a little shorter. I've been here a couple times to get take out, specifically the Tom Kha Kai soup. There's something about this soup that just hits the spot. It's has a rich coconut flavor, with the right balance of sour and spicy. I've never been disappointed whenever it ordered it. The Siam Station fried rice was hands down our favorite -- it was light, perfectly seasoned, and not greasy at all. We also tried the Prik King chicken, which had good flavor and a nice kick of spice, but next time I think I'll go with the orange chicken instead since I was craving something a little sweeter. For dessert, we got the mango sticky rice. The rice itself was delicious and creamy, but the mango was a bit sour -- still good, just not as sweet as expected.
