The return policy is horrible. I bought their shoes, tried them on around the house, and returned them within 24hrs. They did not accept my return, saying there was chalk on them even though the shoes had never been taken to the gym. They offered my $49 store credit(shoes were $170 plus shipping) or to send them back for $15 shipping. This is completely unreasonable and the customer service is very bad. You can purchase most things climbing from different types of chalk, brushes, and climbing equipment like rope, crash pads, harnesses, carabiners, ropes, etc. And of course, they got the shoes! Was here during their winter drop of demo shoes. The event was very well organized. Everyone received a ticket to check out the demo bins. All bins were filled with new or lightly used shoes. I was able to pick up to pairs of shoes. We also climbed their wall. It was cool seeing so many people climb together from different gyms. During the whole night they had raffles. Other climbing friendly companies like Baboon Outdoors and Artifact clothing was also present. They had free coffee from DasGud coffee. I won a cool beanbag from the raffle, too. read more

Bought shoes from mad rock before, was pretty happy. Bought their new drones 2.0 shoe online, tried it once, didn't fit. Tried to return, if there's any chalk on the shoe, they don't accept the return. Do not buy shoes from here unless you know 100% they're going to fit. EDIT (replying to reply): The shoes I returned were worn a single time. Most stores (REI, etc) will accept returns on shoes with minimal wear with 0 questions asked. They offered me a measly 39 STORE CREDIT or offered to have me PAY for the shoe to be shipped back to me. Pretty incredible. Again, please don't buy from mad rock unless you're sure the shoe is going to fit. And do not expect great customer service from mad rock online. They will nickel and dime you despite the fact that you've bought multiple $100+ items from them before. read more

Still a big fan of the store. I do lots of training in their Remoras. They are super comfy. The shop carries stuff like rhino skin stuff, brushes, files.... So if you don't want to order online you can get it with a quick trip to the store. The staff is super helpful. they have a board in the store so you can try out your shoes. If you are a new climber, you need help selecting your shoes. Madrock will be able to assist you. read more

We recently went for the first time during one of their extended hours events and it was great! The guys here are excellent and definitely put the customer experience at the forefront of everything and make you feel extremely welcome. They are also SOOOOO knowledgeable and can give you advice about anything climbing and gear related! Shoe fit, shoe style, gear needed, outdoor climbing/bouldering, where to go, when to go, the list goes on! I am IN LOVE with my Drone LVs. They are ridiculously and unbelievably comfortable. I never thought I'd be able to wear an aggressive shoe with how wide and weird my feet are but the LVs fit like a glove. Literally, they feel like a compression sock on my foot. I also got a pair of Drone HVs which fit a little tighter but still great, they just need more breaking in :-). All of the shoes I bought are super sticky (which I LOVE!!), and (minus the Drone LVs), fit as most new climbing shoes do before being broken in. I will definitely be back to Mad Rock HQ for more climbing gear at their next extended hours. I can't recommend the staff, the shop, the gear, enough! read more
