Mad cool spot for some comedic vibes. I was shocked at the number of audience members for a Thursday open mic. 4 minute sets that a lot of people abused, but the hosts tried their best. Don't expect to be laughing hysterically--there was some weird and questionable content people babbled about. I give everyone props for going up though. I've done stand-up a couple times and it ain't for the weak or meek. I grabbed a drink at the bar that wasn't half bad. I think it was a seltzer they make there? I wish I remembered. I would've gone for another one if it didn't make me so socially anxious to walk to the bar during people's sets.

This place is great! My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this plaice after having dinner down the street. We ended up there on karaoke night, which we were a bit skeptical of, but it ended up being really fun! The bartender was very nice and gave us some great recommendations. The fresh-made seltzer cocktails were SO GOOD! We tried the zombie unicorn (I think it was called?), the mule, and the caramel apple seltzers and they were all delicious! The beer my partner tried- the cold IPA, chilly boi, I think?- was good, too!

"Water yellin for more" was an amazing find, did not expect to have such a yummy and fresh (non beer) spritzer at a brewery. Service was great and so are the drinks! 10/10 recommend to stop in here and grab a drink on a hot Boise day!

Owner is a great little crazy guy. Seems to love his work. I had a pale ale that was very good. I don't usually drink beer but I was very pleased. The place itself is great. Little stage great atmosphere and the decor. It's like being on a ship with a sail built on the wall by his wife. Wood columns on both sides of the bar.

Mad Swede was the perfect little brewery, such unique and delicious craft beers! The people were incredibly nice and had a lively atmosphere. Definitely want to come back and try some more of their drinks!

We had amazing savory vegan pies from kiwi shake and bake, amazing mixed nuts from city peanut, good beer, and the SELTZERS! They take a flavorless seltzer base and add house made syrups to create custom craft drinks and holy guacamole. I want to collect them all. Couldn't find a menu anywhere online, so adding a photo of what was available 2/13/2021

If the weather is cooperating, sit outside. The beer selection is impressive, with a great range of lagers and ales. We had our eye on one particular light, crisp option, but they were out for the night. Our server pointed us toward something comparable... I believe it was called Teddy Bearnd...it worked. Now, the food. My friend went for one of their signature burgers, which was seasoned simply so the beef really gets to shine. The only hiccup was that they were out of tomatoes, which is a non-negotiable topping for her, so keep that in mind if tomatoes are a must. I went a different route and ordered the beef focaccia. Uniquely layered ribeye and really good. We also shared a Greek salad that was simple but fresh and satisfying. And the french fries with their homemade ketchup? Don't skip em. Service was smooth and friendly from start to finish. No complaints.

I don't know that I have ever given a brewery a 5 Star review...this makes sense!…read more I have been doing my little Fish & Chips search through Boise and I will have to say, this place is Hands Down the best yet that I have found! Now I have been here a few times and I like the place. The service is good, especially in the bar. The place is very open and has great light and fresh air which I always love. Add to that some great food and creative cocktails and you have a winner! They have a great Old Fashion that is a creation of one of the bartenders and I think is just a fantastic drink! Balanced flavor, a little sweet but not too sweet...with a nice bourbon finish to it! Now back to the Fish & Chips...I have had them twice now, with the same cocktail to chase them down. These are what Fish & Chips are meant to be. The batter is light with a great crunch, not heavily breaded but a light flavorful batter! Fries are good, home-made tartar sauce which always hits...and all the items you want with them...lemon, vinegar and for me mustard! I will be back, over and over again. for a drink, some good service and the best Fish & Chips when I am having that craving! KT

To start, I tried the Pickletini. As a fan of pickle-forward drinks, I found it "not bad"--a solid choice if you enjoy that briny profile. My fiancé opted for the All Ways Down Double IPA flight. At 9% ABV, it was a heavy hitter, but he really enjoyed the intense hop aroma and flavor provided by the Cryo Hops. For my main, I ordered the TNT Sando (Tri-Tip with bacon jam and garlic aioli) on Gaston's grilled focaccia. I requested it without pickles, and it was excellent. I paired it with the Black Bean and Veggie soup, which was a standout--perfectly delicious with a nice "zing" to it. Unfortunately, the meal hit a significant snag with my fiancé's Fish & Chips. The beer and cornmeal tempura batter was extremely thick (nearly 3/4 of an inch in some spots) and the fish was overcooked. Additionally, the blue cheese dressing on his side salad was very runny and tasted off. It was disappointing enough that we had to send it back. We replaced it with The Spicy Italian pizza. This was a total 180--it arrived looking beautiful, and the combination of the meats, pepperoncinis, and hot honey was absolutely delicious. Our server, Casey P., was generally good and attentive, though we did have to wait to start our meal because we weren't initially provided with napkins or silverware. A minor note on the atmosphere: the table we were seated at had "gay" carved into the wood, which felt a bit out of place for the professional vibe of the rest of the establishment. Overall, the TNT Sando, the pizza, and the beers are worth coming back for, but the kitchen consistency on the fried items definitely needs some work.

Almost made me want to move here, they were easy to talk to and were completely personal with their conversations. I ordered the flight of 4, 5-oz samples with an additional 2 more. What I ordered was their Recoil IPA (citrus), Rustler IPA (malty), Mutton Buster (brown ale), Oktoberfest (marzen lager), with the additional two of the Aura (hibiscus sour), and Sofa King Dreamy (tropical IPA). This place was absolutely amazing, from the outside drinking areas to the bathrooms. The bathroom was something I wasn't suspecting, all the way to the bonfire pit that was so huge, to even the forest of the wandering drinkers. I did come pretty close to close and the staff was still awesome and easy to work with. They weren't done with their shift and irrtitated which I see most of the time. I ended up buying some merchandise and some beer togo. If I lived here, I can totally see myself coming by this spot frequently. My girlfriends and I decided we needed to get some grub and enjoy the patio weather today so we all picked Sockeye to hit up for our monthly outing. I arrived first and the patio area was pretty chill. Was sat at a great table and hung out till the rest of my friends showed up. My two friends and I did get to peep out the menu for a bit. Our last friend who is notoriously late allowed is some extra time to really check out the whole menu without feeling rushed. Happy hour was going on so of course the apps were calling to me. I can make a meal off of multiple appetizers. We finally got food ordered when our last friend showed up. I got the salmon and shrimp crab cakes. I have left Sockeye hungry before after having dinner here so I also added a side of chili just in case. I was ready to eat! My crab and shrimp cakes came out looking fabulous. They were fried a nice golden brown. So crispy on the outside and savory on the inside. I love the aoili that was on top, it added an extra flair to the crab cake. 3 were in an order and it was the perfect amount. I smashed all 3 and they were so good! I did have a couple bites of the chili. It was hearty in meat and beans. Rich in flavor and filling. I'm looking forward to adding this chili to some fries with some cheese on top for dinner later. I know it's going to be so good. Our server did a great job tonight. Despite the fact that she had to wait till our last friend to show up, our server was on top of it. Our water was always filled, she checked up on us and always made sure we were happy. As a past server, it's hard to manage time between tables when the whole party isn't there. Our server didn't have that issue today. My girlfriends and I had a great time. We enjoyed the food, enjoyed the atmosphere and was happy that we got to do this all on the patio. I always forget that there's a Sockeye by us off of Hill Rd. I will have to check that one out soon to grab more crab cakes. I do look foward to coming back to this location and enjoying another round of appetizers on the patio here.
