It's New Year's Day. Nothing was open today. We drove out to Emmitt to look at property and to our surprise Black Canyon Taphouse was open. They have the best staff, food, and draft beers from all over. We ordered hot wings, the club sandwich and the local Minnesota local rice and chicken soup. Beers from Bert's in Garden Valley didn't disappoint. We will be back very soon. Keith the owner, Nicky our Server, and Ryan the Chef were a pleasure to talk to. They offered games so we played Golf. I won. But who's keeping track? Tons of tables, bar seats, and a clean bathroom. A must visit. Side note: First Responders and Military get a discount. They ask everyone when cashing out. read more

Been stopping by since it was a brew house. As a Tap House they have really up their game. The food and character reflect the new ownership. Fun place to stop in, service was great, new menu tasty. Ordered takeout on a Sunday, was able to text my order in and pick up in 20 min. Orders came out perfect, we ordered two burgers and bbq wings. The beef is from a local ranch, which we appreciate :) burger comes with all the classic fixings ( lettuce, tomato, pickle, onion) and you can add cheese, bacon, guacamole and even a fresh local fried egg. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, generally don't expect much from a bar type spot but they delivered a solid burger. I will say some might think the price is a bit high, they start at $16... but for quality meat I believe it's worth it. Shout out to whomever packed our order, they wrote on each box to note what the order was and packed all the sauces while leaving happy faces on each... it's the little things! My wife and I live in Star, Idaho. We headed over to Emmett to renew our driver's licenses and stopped in at Black Canyon Brewing for a beer and some lunch prior to returning home. I ordered their Temper Tantrum IPA, which they warned me was very hoppy. Well, since I happen to like IPAs and hops I didn't blink. When I tasted it I found it to be drinkable, but it was anything but an IPA and had absolutely no hops bittering or aroma that I could detect. My wife selected the Peaches and Cream brew and enjoyed it so much that she ordered a second glass (and she is not a beer drinker). For lunch, I had the street tacos and my wife ordered the Bagel Sandy. My tacos didn't taste bad, but I would have expected some real salsa rather than Louisiana hot sauce or Tabasco and maybe some sour cream and/or guacamole for the $14 they charged for three little tacos. My wife said her Bagel Sandy (served with chips), for $12, was OK. Bottom line is that these folks may get their act together before they fold and go out of business, but in the meantime, I will be very hesitant to return. read more

If you like beer, do yourself a favor and stop in. Even if it's out of your way, make the drive and STOP IN! I really like beer and over the years I have visited my fair share of craft breweries across the country. I can easily say that Black Canyon brewing (from a beer quality and taste perspective) is one of the best and maybe the best that I've ever visited. It's that good. We stopped in and ordered the sampler (flight). Like most breweries we figured we'd enjoy half the beers sampled and pass on the other half. Not at Black Canyon. Each beer we tasted was exceptional and they have some of the most unique beers (in a great way) that we've ever tasted. Black Canyon isn't afraid to do some outside the box exploration with their processes and they have hit a home run. They have flavors I've never tasted in any other beer and they pull it off wonderfully. Wow, wow, wow!! Add to the beer some of the kindest, friendliest and funny servers that work hard to make you feel at home and appreciated as a customer and Black Canyon easily races past other craft breweries. The ambiance of the establishment is clean, sleek and welcoming. Did I happen to mention that the beers are out of this world? We've been into Black Canyon several times and the beers rotate often. With the beer rotations we were worried that we'd lose our 'favorites' but with the rotations we are constantly finding new 'favorites'. I can't speak at length about the food at BC as we've only had a few items to snack on with our beer (they were really good). I image that most the food items are likely fantastic much like the beer. To the owners of Black Canyon, I can't stress enough that you have something very special in what your doing. You have some of the best recipes that would take beer awards on any stage and I hope that folks take the opportunity to see what I'm raving about. Black Canyon easily distinguishes itself from a very crowded craft brewery field. Enjoy! read more

Wonderful addition to Emmett! Plenty of seating options, in the front or towards the back by the bar. All four of us had the peach beer and we all loved it! Played a couple rounds of cards as the table had a deck available. Service was super friendly and helpful. Will be back!! read more

Okay, we went there and tried a sample of all their beers. We really only liked 2. Next we ordered 2 appetizers. Well, the food was fresh but HIGHLY overpriced! If this business is going to succeed selling beer, they should have pub food. Fries, sliders, nachos, and fish and chips... that would keep people eating and drinking. Just my humble opinion. The wife and I went in to see Karli who works at the Black Canyon Brewing company, Tried several different appetizers (in fact I don't think we left any out). The best were the homemade pretzel pieces (served with a cheese sauce), the plate of assorted meats and cheeses (again served with two types of crackers) and the black and blue sausage with carmalized onions. Also tried the shrimp ceviche (with corn tortilla chips). Wow, a lot of food for sure. But I had to find things that were on my diet, so stayed away from the chips, crackers and cheeses. Oh, and my wife had the peaches and cream ale (said it was wonderful. All in all, a good place to relax and enjoy. There are cards available at some tables and a group of 6 were having a spirited game while we were there. Very relaxing and not a pickup spot, but I liked it. Will be back! I've been to most all breweries in the Treasure Valley and this brewery has the highest number of great beers on the menu of all! They have a limited food menu but the selections are diverse and interesting. The good is good! This is my new go to brewery!!! read more

Great tasting beer! Kid friendly. We were camping at Roystone Hot Springs and made afternoon trip to pick apples and stopped for a beer afterward. We brought the kiddos in and the waitress brought them things to play and color with. TVs had the football game on which was great! Waitress was prompt in taking our order and was back quickly with our drinks. We didn't have any food but will definitely try next time. Great atmosphere and the inside was spacious.
