Oh my gawd these tacos were good. Amazing tacos with beautifully-seasoned meat, piping hot and fresh right off the grill top, very kind and quick service from the truck team, and a chill atmosphere to eat on site if desired (and if you don't, they'll pack up your tacos nicely for you to take home). There are several taco options here, but I got the pastor and the chicken. Both were so good. Very few places get pastor right. Some places overcook it, some try to hide poor seasoning with too much pineapple. This was PERFECT - tender, savory, amazing. The chicken was excellent too, juicy, just the right amount of chile lime, wow. And I LOVED that each plate comes with sautéed onions and a roasted whole jalapeño. THAT IS HOW YOU TACO! There are so many expensive and fancy-looking taco places all over Arizona, places that'll charge you $5-6 PER TACO, and they're nowhere NEAR the flavor of this place where every taco is $2.50. I will be coming again and again - I've reviewed dozens of taco places around the USA and this was easily in my top 5. It's best if you bring cash to pay here by the way. This way you can leave a tip for the hard working family making these amazing, inexpensive tacos!

Wanted to try a new taco spot for Taco Tuesday. Took the trek out to AJ to this little taco truck and it didn't disappoint. Between my boyfriend and I, we got 10 tacos for $16! Great taco Tuesday deal. They've got you covered with birria, carne asada, pollo asada, Al pastor and cabeza. We tried them all except the chicken. Great flavor, great value. The Al pastor and carne asada were my favorites. Bonus: they were only playing Pitbull songs on the speaker. ¡Dale!

I moved here to the Gold Canyon area from L.A. in 2015....the tacos here were in 2020 Mad Taco Az moved into A.J. and we are so happy about that. Not only do they have excellent tacos with salsitas muy picoso and grilled chile jalapeños but they have the best owners (super friendly) All the protein they serve is delish but my favorite is the cabeza Go Check them Out!!

After regularly eyeballing this food truck from across the street/parking lot for months wondering how the food was, my cousin and I finally decided to give it a chance. I am sure glad we did! The service was friendly and very fast. They have a sunshade and tables set out to allow for a comfortable seat to chow down. I love this touch as it saves you from trying to eat in the car and make a mess! The horchata was amazing and comes in a giant portion (only $4!!!). I had leftover and was able to add a shot of espresso the next day for a fancy coffee! Yum. To eat I ordered a birria street taco ($2.50 each) which was served with lime, grilled onion and grilled jalapeño. The meat had such a wonderful flavor and texture. It didn't even need sauce, but I added some of the green sauce as I am sucker for green sauce. So good! Highly recommend! read more

For months, I've been hearing about how great this food truck was and that I needed to try. I typically stick to a vegetarian diet recently due to health issues, but when I saw cabeza I decided to treat myself to two tacos. The service was friendly and very quick to receive our food. Love that they include a grilled jalapeño with the tacos as I love spicier items. Also, don't skip the horchata as it is easier the best I've had in the valley! Lastly, there is a great view of the Superstition Mountains and love that they set up tables under a pop up tent to enjoy the food. I'll definitely be back and glad I tried them! read more

We dropped in at 8 pm on Tue. this week and got dinner. We wanted the taco plate but they were out of beans (sad face) and she said they didn't really have much rice either. (Even sadder face) Despite this the food was freaking amazing. My husband prefers American food and he devoured every bite and then wanted some of mine. Great flavors and there is no doubt this is now my current obsession. I can't wait to go back!!!!! read more

Our guests recommended this from a visit they made to Mesa a while back. The line was pretty long but moved quickly. We took it home and thoroughly enjoyed every bite. I got the steak tacos. They are about 3 bites each for me, but plenty of meat and fillings. I ate three with some beans and rice. The food is excellent! After seeing the reviews from others that praise the great Mexican food I had to try it. I convinced my wife and a couple of our friends to join me. We were all very pleased with our choices. Unfortunately my wife and I are snowbirds and only had a chance to try Mad Taco once before we left to go back home. Hopefully they will still be in business next winter because I plan on going to eat there often. read more

Ok we moved to Apache junction recently from tempe. Huge difference and so hard to find any taco stands out here. We came across one here on Apache trail parking lot of title max. The tacos are bomb I've tried quesa tacos the asada,birria, chicken and pastor The cabeza I wasn't a big fan of. Looks like they open everyday but fridays from 4-10pm. Well worth it and it's cheap! read more

These tacos are the freakin BIZZ-NESSS! Meat is very flavorful and there are a lot of different options; Carne asada, birria, AL pastor and more. First time in Apache Junction in two years and we were excited to find Mad Taco. And what a find it is! Very pleasant (and appreciative) staff and excellent food. We sampled three types of tacos, a quesadilla, and a churro. Everything was fresh. Salsas were good (especially the green). Roasted jalapeño was a pleasant surprise as a side. The churro was perfect. Will definitely come back and recommend this to anyone who likes authentic Mexican street food. read more

Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future.
