It's a fast food Mexican place so there is hardly any wait.. you seat yourself.. it was our first time. My husband and I ordered the same thing. Carne asada burrito which came with chipotle cream sauce, carne Asada, and pico. Also beans and we asked for no rice. We both had rice on the side with beans. The burrito was nice and big. The rice was really good. And the beans were mediocre. The burrito was good, except the only bad thing I would say it was a little too greasy, and when you bit into it, all the greasy juice came out. Great little Mexican spot that doesn't disappoint. Visited again (probably 5th time or more) last night with friends. The staff never fails to make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in! Service is spot on. I'm sort of stuck on the creamy seafood with mushroom plate. Worth all the calories. This time we shared a desert - the Carlotta de limon which was delicious. OUTSTANDING!!! We usually get their enchiladas trio plate but today we felt like trying their tacos and Azteca burrito and it was the best food we've ever had. The meat had such good flavor, the lettuce and tomatoes were crisp and fresh and the salsa bar is always delicious. Equally amazing was how clean the entire place was, one lady was cleaning the windows - they were spotless and the floor was shiny and clean. Even the legs of the tables didn't have dust or a spec of anything in them. It just makes you feel good about eating there. The service is fast, friendly and very welcoming. I was looking for a quick lunch spot on my way out of the valley to golf in Gold Canyon and saw this place on Yelp with the great reviews. Authentic Mexican food sounded perfect and I knew good things were in store when I arrived at 11:30am on a Friday and all of inside and outside tables were full. The inside is quaint but has quite a few tables. They also have tables out front in the shade (to call it patio seating may be a stretch, just simple tables and chairs on the exterior of the entrance). You order your food at the counter and I didn't study the menu ahead of time but the ladies taking my order were patient with me. I ordered a shredded beef taco and a cheese enchilada with rice and beans. Nothing fancy for my first time as it's hard to golf on a full stomach! I found the only open table and then hit up the salsa bar. They have 4 or 5 different salsas/hot sauces and a few other goodies. I got a small cup of each sauce and all of them were quite good. My food was colorful, flavorful and just the right away to give me some energy without being lethargic. I could go on about a few other nice things but it seems most of East Mesa already knows about this place given the high scores on Yelp from a lot of reviewers. Nothing to prevent me from giving a 5* review at this time. I look forward to trying some more dishes in the future. read more

Found this place through Yelp at 4.8 stars and it was definitely worth it. Not much ambience, just great food. Well worth the trip and definitely will come back here again. Carnitas were moist, but crispy shredded beef taco was pretty good. They also had chicken Tinga, which is fairly rare and that was also pretty good. The chips were light thin and weren't very great, but when you consider everything else, who cares? read more

Ordered Tinga enchiladas, carne fajita burrito, and chips and salsa but received grilled chicken enchiladas. Salsa was very very watery so it was hard to pick up a lot with the chips and enchilada sauce was slightly sweet, rice and beans were decent. The chips were good, thin and crispy and the burrito my husband ordered was pretty decent with a good grill taste. My regular go-to in this area was closed so I found this well-rated spot and despite it being around 2 pm on a weekday it was quite busy. Always a good sign! It's a counter-serve spot but plenty of tables inside and out and a pretty extensive menu. I got tacos and randomly ordered a tamale to go for later to try it. I think they wanted the tamale fresh as they didn't seem to start making it until I was done with my food. I ended up regretting ordering it as I just wanted to be on my way post-tacos but was waiting around for this impulse tamale. I enjoyed the carne asada street tacos for the most part but found the corn tortillas on the thick side. It looked like most people had burritos around so I would try those next. Salsa bar had really good salsas! The tamale was fine but I found the red sauce on it pretty heavy and sweet. Not for me but just a matter of preference. So, my wife and I were just in the area and were craving tacos. This place is freaking amazing y'all. I got the Molcajete and it was literally the best one I've had. I couldn't believe the price of it for what I got. I'm on a GLP1 shot so I couldn't finish the whole thing but you know my fat a$$ took it home and had it for supper and for fourth meal too. Wow! Hole-in-the-wall yumminess!! The Horchata was the best I've ever had. It was unique with pieces of apple and coconut. Tasted like liquid Cinnabon! Updating my review since it's been a few years and I've been back many times since the last one. The horchata is still a favorite and they've made some changes to the menu, including making the digital version MUCH more legible (I've got "old man eyes," but the font and color scheme now is significantly easier to read than it was before) The Mole Poblano is consistently fantastic and service was fast and friendly. While it is never really crowded when we've been there, it does seem to keep busy, including a good amount of take-out business. I found this gem thanks to Yelp. Hubby and I finally checked it out tonight for dinner. We walked in, two chicks were in front of us ordering and no other customers. It was an early time for dinner. Maybe 5pm. We looked over the menu and decided on these two meals. After ordering we went the immaculately clean salsa bar and geared up. Our food was brought out us. Decent time. No too long of a wait and not so short you questioned if they cooked your food to order. They definitely do. By now this place is getting busy! The patrons won't stop coming in. I said to my husband "thank goodness we got here when we did" it's small so tables are limited. The food. Oh the food. It was sooooo good! The shrimps were cooked perfectly and seasoned perfectly on both dishes. The sauce on the mushrooms seafood platter my hubby got was great! I don't like mushrooms but the sauce was excellent and he loved the fish so much. He literally cleaned the plate, lol. My salad, the lettuce was so fresh, the corn, beans and fresh cheese were really good too. The dressing was great! Salsas are really good and tasty too. We came in today for Street Tacos. I really enjoy this little Mexican restaurant over in the Albertsons Center. Place is always clean and always has someone that comes out to clean tables as customers leave which is nice because, it really sucks when you have to come into a place and you have to clean your table. We had gone around 11:30am and the restaurant was definitely busy. You order at the counter and they bring your food out to you, so we did just that. My mom went with two enchilada plate (one chicken tinga & one cheese) with red and green sauces. I decided on the black bean bowl with chicken tinga. The enchiladas were good, I snagged a couple of bites and both the red and green sauces were nice. The bowl was a bit bland, it had sour cream but probably needed some sort of dressing to mix in. The best part was that they have a salsa bar. We actually ordered a side of chips so we could enjoy that. Overall, a restaurant I'd consider going to is if I was in the area and wanting some chips and salsa. But otherwise, not sure this one drew me in enough to drive out of my way to eat at. read more
