Great find in Old Town Queen Creek! True family-run restaurant, and it really stood out from the moment I walked in. Ordering at the counter was quick and easy, and the staff member helping me was friendly and gave an excellent recommendation. The food did not disappoint--everything was fresh, flavorful, and cooked just right. the meat was tender and seasoned perfectly, and the salsas had just the right amount of kick. The portions were generous without being over the top, and you can tell a lot of care goes into each plate. Clean and welcoming, the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. Nice to see them back. With all of the changes Queen Creek is going through. One of the biggest problems we are having is the small businesses are closing down. They are all being replaced by large franchises. I was really happy to see this place back open. They have all of the meat options you want. Their Carne asada is really good. This is a "very small" family taqueria. Mom & Dad are the cooks and their sweet/kind/beautiful daughter runs the front of the house. The food here is truly authentic. A burrito costs approx $11.00 and they taste terrific/fabulous/amazing. If you are unsure as to what burrito to order, then try ordering the "carne asada breakfast burrito". Also, this is a very tiny, no frills taqueria. Therefore, if you are looking to dine in a restaurant with spanish music & fancy decor, this retaurant may not be for you. Added Note: no "free" chips & salsa delivered to your table like at some other mexican restaurants. I had seen several really good reviews for this establishment so we decided to give it a try. I suppose we could have picked the wrong day to go there but our experience wasn't good! I ordered the carnie asada burrito which might have had a spoonful of meat in it. It was 85% rice and beans and it was not even served warm. My wife had a different burrito and hers was also cold. Their prices are high for this quality of food. The server was very cordial and polite but customer service isn't one of their priorities. The place is very small and not very well cooled for our hot summer months. They had ample customers so there must be something they knew about that we didn't. Bottom line is we gave it a try but there was nothing there that would warrant me recommending it or ever going back again. Huge disappointment! read more

I have been driving by this place for years. From the outside, it looks a little sketchy but I finally said let me try this place. I am so glad did. The place is immaculate. The help was very nice. I got a couple breakfast burritos. One with no meat and the other with ham. They are large. Excellent flavor. I wish I didn't eat the entire burrito but I couldn't stop because of the flavor. Whenever I get the craving for ceviche or tacos I go here. It's a small place only like 4 or 5 tables and lunch time is impossible to get a seat so I usually have to get mine to go. I usually get the ceviche with imitation crab because unfortunately the shrimp and fish one is way too spicy for me. Last time I got it, my tongue was on fire I couldn't handle it lol. The tacos are really good! I usually get the Carne asada and it comes with the usual onions and cilantro. They don't have horchata here though which is sad but they do have Mexican coke. There's also a dirt lot next door that usually everyone parks at since the drive up parking in front has only about 4 spots. read more

I ate the carne asada burrito. It was good and quite filling. I did order sour cream and guacamole on the side, which didn't come. It was crowded, so the wait was worth it. The only people who got food before me were those who ordered the soup. It must be amazing because it was over 100 degrees outside and warm in the cafe and there were bowls left and right of hot soup! This place is right near my daughters school, so its hard not to drop in for a breakfast burrito. I get the burrito with everything except ham. I think it tastes better without it. Its a big burrito, and i usually hurt myself trying to finish it. I really should split it with my husband. Its a tiny little hole in the wall place and is usually busy. But they allow call ahead to go orders. Most of the time I'm the only caucasian in there, so you know its a legit Mexican food place. read more

We finally got a chance to stop into this place based on Yelp ratings. They are a mom/pop shop and their close early relative to other restaurants. I was lured to try this place based on other Yelp posts about Mexican pastries and some of the other photos that are attached to this place. Beware! Most of the posts are connected to the previous restaurant and several items are no longer served, including the Mexican pastry breads! Boo! I'd caution that you double check when the post was submitted. I ordered 3 different flavor tacos. They were good, but pricey for the size. Everything is a la carte. The menu was quite limited. The cashier/hostess at the front counter was not friendly at all. She seemed bothered that she had to do any work by taking our order or answering our questions even though it was our first time there. Certainly not very welcoming. Little old building in the middle of Queen Creek. Next door to Mike's bikes. Closes at 2pm, I got there at 1:30. Ordered 2 tacos and rice and beans. Friendly young woman at counter. Once home, tasting...beans and rice, okay, nothing special. Pastor taco pretty tasty. Carne asada, okay. Nothing wrong here, a simple, homey kind of place with modest prices and decent food. I'm a big fan of places like this. Little shops that just do good food right and keep the menu simple to do so. I had the pollo, carnitas, barbacoa and shrimp tacos. WOW!!! All were delicious, but that barbacoa was lights out! Extremely flavorful! It was also a nice surprise to have a small amount of whole pinto beans on the tacos. All the tacos were plentiful and I could have had just two and been full, but I wanted to try as many as I could. If you like tacos the way I like tacos go get some from here and support the local mom and pop shops. When I'm in the area I will be making a special stop just to get some. read more

It had potatoes, eggs, cheese, ham, sour cream, pico de gallo, and chorizo. The prices are good for the portions. It is hot in the restaurant and small(more of a take out or quick lunch place than a restaurant), but most authentic delicious food is served at places like that. We tried the carne asada street tacos. They have beans on them, FYI. Also cucumber, lime, cilantro, white cabbage, and onion on a soft corn tortilla. Very flavorful and filling. We ordered the barbecoa platter also. The meat was tender, flavorful and delicious! Also served with lots of onions, cilantro, & lime. It took forever to get our meal. The fajitas was like chewing rubber. One of the worst meals I've ever had. You have to prepay, so you can't leave would have left because it took over 40 minutes to get our meal and then it was absolutely the worst meal.
