Young lady at the counter was very polite and had a great smile. My husband got the cheese enchiladas with red sauce and extra onions. We've eaten at every Mexican restaurant in AJ and surrounding area and that's what he always gets. He said this is the best he's ever had. I had the chimichanga and it was very good and huge. Way too big for me, not that I'm complaining. We will be back, can't wait to try other things. Apparently this will be our go to enchilada place. Decent. Honestly the food isn't bad. It isn't great. It's just ok. If you're hungry and want a decent meal at a good price it's a good place to stop. We got: The beef taco and tostada combo Carnitas combo Burrito supreme A Chile relleno Two horchata Well we never got the carnitas, they gave us a Chile relleno plate instead. We found out once we were home and didn't drive back. Everything in the beef taco tostada plate was the same color. It was weird. A pastel green and brown. I found no meat on the tostada, just beans. It was not bad. But everything on the plate tasted like mildly spiced refried beans. The relleno had a mild red sauce that kinda tasted like my refried beans, just a bit more tomato. It was filling. Just not a lot of protein. The burrito supreme was good. I would definitely recommend the horchata though. It was smooth and not grainy. It would not be my first choice to go back to. First, the lady behind the counter was very friendly and courteous, even when I returned. Decided to try the Jumbo Burrito ($18.57), and was comparing it with the Giant Burrito at El Gordo ($11.50), both were about the same size. Was very surprised the price was $18.57. The Los Favoritos Jumbo Burrito was a total ripoff. For over twice the price of a regular burrito, it had HALF the amount of meat of a smaller burrito, it was basically all fill. I opened it up to check. It had so little meat and was so disappointing, I returned it. Normally I wouldn't but it was such a ripoff. Been here numerous times now for takeout and this by far is the best fast Mexican food in the area. The food always tastes amazing and our orders are accurate. The red and green sauces have flavor and are not watered down like other places. The burritos are huge and contain mostly meat instead of other cheap fillers that the competitors down the street love to load their burritos with. I've been to the Chandler location, but it was a first for this one- conveniently right down the street! No wonder I never noticed it- totally inconspicuous, tucked into a small building off the side of the street. I don't suggest "dining in". It's very small & run-down inside. Not exactly an ideal place to dine, in my opinion. Just three small tables w/ two chairs, each. Most of them are taken up by waiting to-go orders. And the gentleman sitting right out side the door (because there wasn't enough room to wait inside) smoking was not at all appealing near food. But, there is a picnic table outside, too- for the better than hell hot weather months. Take-out seems to be the method here, as delivery is not an option. Kind of a bummer when their competitors (Filabertos/Ericbertos) just a mile or two down the street offer delivery for pretty much the exact same menus & cuisine. You can phone orders in ahead of time for pickup, too. The service is okay. The guy at the window/counter was of few words. But, attentive & polite enough. He efficiently did his job, but didn't answer questions very well. Language barrier, perhaps? (My Spanish skills are a work in progress...) I was disappointed when I asked for the Los Fav nachos w/ an extra side of nacho cheese. "We don't have nacho cheese, just regular." ...but that is exactly how it is advertised! With NACHO cheese! That was supposed to be the "difference" between the Supreme nachos (which cost more). I asked what the difference was, and he explained them both- they're exactly the same! So my suggestion- opt for the Los Fav nachos instead of the Supreme. It's cheaper, and literally the same thing. ...but no nacho cheese. So, the Chandler location has that one in their favor. I'm a sucker for that fake golden lard, and rather disappointed in these nachos. At least they do come fully loaded & don't cheat you out of the jalapeños! The refried beans here are refreshingly better than anywhere else. I'll give them that! Not overly salted, but they actually have flavor. The rice... no. Sorry excuse for "Mexican" rice. Zero flavor. Zero seasonings. It's pretty much plain ol' rice. Why bother? The rice & beans came with the chili rilleno & cheese enchilada combo. You can't really screw up a cheese enchilada. The chili rilleno wasn't one I'd rave over or go out of my way for again. It's one of my favorites, but I've had better. Plenty of cheese, but not a whole lot of crisped coated chili in there. A little weak, and rather small, in my opinion comparing to some of the better ones I've had. The churros aren't listed on their official menu, but they do offer them! Your typical fare for what it is. It's hard to go wrong with a churro. And, I was a little surprised the cost of extra guac & sour cream were the same for both... WAY steep! $1.75 each for a small condiment cup?! Yikes- don't opt for that! Just accept the free salsa offered. They definitely offer decent food in a fast manner, and it is great they are a local, small business. The prices (besides the extra condiments) are fairly cheap and quite reasonable for the quality & quantity offered. Definitely hits the spot for craving some comida de Mexico! Could just use a few improvements & I'd be more likely to frequent. read more

Now THIS is a hole in the wall if you've ever seen one. Not gonna lie, my party was pretty sketched with the exterior, but this tells you to definitely not judge a book by its cover. The pricing was attractively reasonable, and the food came in huge, mouthwatering portions. Our cashier accommodated my parents, who don't speak English well, and she was super friendly with explaining the dishes. After bowling at Mesa East Lanes, our group decided to stop here for take out. Because, 'this is better than 'Berto's'. lol I was a little worried when we pulled up to this nondescript tan shop with dirt parking lot. Don't let the outside fool you. On the inside, it is very clean. They have a couple of small tables with chairs. A picture menu with meal combos. Ala carte, too. Fountain drinks, bottled Mexican sodas, Horchata. Also they had a couple different types of churros. Most meals come with the standard rice and beans unless you tell them otherwise. I had two Carne Asada tacos platter and my friend got a burrito. My friend eats here a lot and he loves their burritos. I can tell you I was underwhelmed by the Carne Asada. It wasn't bad. It was decent but very plain With some pico de gallo strewn on top, heavy on the onions. The portions were good and filling. With my meal combo # 21 and my friend's #3 plus a side of sour cream , the total came to $20. 89. It is definitely a favorite with the locals. There were a stream of constant customers doing takeout at 10 PM on a Saturday night. I will definitely be back to try out a breakfast burrito. read more
