Unfortunately, what began as confidence in the salon eventually became a pattern of disappointment. I've seen multiple stylists, and while the first appointment with each was generally excellent, the return visits were a very different experience. Despite providing detailed visual references and clearly explaining what I wanted, I repeatedly left with cuts or color that were noticeably different from what had been discussed. I required multiple corrections and redos, yet even those often fell short of what I had originally requested. I continued returning and treating the stylists respectfully, including tipping for additional adjustment time, because I genuinely wanted to give the salon every opportunity to get it right. Eventually, I decided to leave an honest review. What happened afterward was far more concerning than the disappointing services themselves. Three Intrigue stylists came to my workplace, including a former stylist of mine. When they learned I would be working with them, they objected and insinuated that I might behave unprofessionally or engage in crude or inappropriate conduct toward them--despite having had no interaction with them at my workplace. I contacted the office manager to address this professionally, but instead of simply addressing the conduct I was reporting, I was told their behavior was a direct result of my review and was chastised for not coming to her before posting it. The owner of my workplace was repeatedly brought into the conversation, including suggestions that they would be unhappy about my call and that she could contact them regarding my complaint. A straightforward concern about inappropriate behavior was therefore redirected back onto me and my decision to speak honestly about my experience. After five years as a client, I find that response particularly telling. A paying customer is entitled to provide an honest review when services repeatedly fail to meet expectations. What they are not obligated to do is remain silent to protect a business from criticism. At this point, I will not be returning to Intrigue. My experience has shown me that the quality of the service can be inconsistent, and, more importantly, that raising legitimate concerns may result in the concern being turned back on the customer rather than professionally addressed.

The second stylist, Nia, who is young and talented, was slaying another client's hair; but Patrice brought me right in, sat me down, ask me about my hair goals and where I was currently in my hair journey.
