While visiting Bradenton for a work meetup, my boss suggested we come here for breakfast -- and I'm so glad we did. It had been a while since I indulged in breakfast cravings (I usually lean toward higher-protein options), but the moment you walk in and see the impressive display of freshly baked pastries, all bets are off. The selection is huge, and everything looks absolutely delicious. We ordered crêpes with a side of potatoes, and everything was fantastic. I got full pretty quickly... but kept eating anyway because it was just that good. I also ordered a cappuccino, which was perfectly made and paired beautifully with breakfast. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, genuinely focused on making sure we had a great experience. The service really stood out. It's located in a small shopping center with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. It came with a side of potatoes. 17.95 My hot Chai was served in a small coffee cup- average quality $ 6.00 With a three dollar tip my breakfast was $29.00!! Stopped in for a quick lunch, and glad we did! All the staff were very friendly, and they have a to go option or a sit down option. They also had outdoor seating available. We sat down and both ordered sandwiches. Mine was really good, and the salad dressing was great too. Loved seeing the big display case of all the sweets and pastries they had. I am super familiar with the downtown location of C'est La Vie and found myself needing a pitstop on a longer drive that passed through the area. This location is right off the highway and easy to access. I was stoked I didn't have to do the hunt for parking like in downtown and even close to the end of the day their case had all the items I normally look for (and usually struggle to get at the other because I try too late in the day). The folks inside were cleaning up and starting to wind down for the day but they were super kind and enthusiastic about getting an order together for me. I am super simple and got a Paris half sandwich and salad combo, a coffee eclair (which is my absolute favorite thing out of a French bakery), and a couple other small items. They packed my order up and I hit the road. The ingredients really shine because of how basic the sandwich and salad are. The mixed greens were fresh, the salad dressing was just as good as any cafe or bistrot you would find overseas, the baguette had as great exterior crunch with a nice soft inside. The eclair and lemon meringue tart were exceptionally good and worth the trip on its own. A lovely, very French, experience. The Chef was training someone, but that just slowed things down to a more authentic European outing. The Walnut bread was so yummy we got a loaf to go. Picked up a friend from the hospital. We were both pretty hungry. But we agreed that we wanted to eat local. This newly opened cafe is wonderful. I had a Paris baguette (simple ham, cheese, and butter). My friend had sandwich with Brie, apples, and walnuts. She also has a salad. Neither of us could eat more than half the sandwich. But that did not stop us from bringing home dessert. We brought a raisin roll and apple strudel home for later. Everything was outstanding and delicious. Prices were extremely reasonable. The manager (owner) did come over to see how we liked our meal. He told us a little bit of history that was involved in opening this particular place. Our waiter was wonderful and attentive. All the food and bakery looked so delicious. I'm definitely looking forward to returning. Sadly, I don't live in Florida. I'm just visiting a friend. But I do hope to return at least one more time before I go home. read more

I cannot believe there isnt one review for this delightful, charming old world hidden in plain sight French treasure. We checked it out during Savor Sarasota - still on by the way!!!- check it out! The escargot and crusty french baguettes were divine! A little something for everyone wine by the glass and a bigger selection by the bottle (well priced). The 3 course dinner selection offered many options...we chose escargo in harmony for our first course, both chose seafood for our entree ( the white fish and salmon crepes ) - both were nice portions lovingly paired with sauces only the French truly do master. Delicious... The desserts (pastries in a class of their own up front!), were ridiculously incredible. We didnt have room to finish them...but knew we couldnt resist taking a few bites and then our server graciously packed them to go for us. The " owners", I believe, were working the floor that night (Saturday) and made us feel welcome while servers were also on point. I ordered 2 fruit tarts to go. One was in bad shape and shouldn't have been displayed. The server gave me the one falling apart and fruit was falling off and she didn't even bother to place the fallen fruit back on. The overall taste was very good and very fresh.
