Have to update my review a bit. While the staff is fantastic, my trust has been challenged. I was informed that my breaks were in need of repair. Got a second opinion on that. Was not the case. Give us a refund? Took the truck in for engine light diagnostics of 5 or 6 codes. A week and almost $900 later it was "ready". The truck barely made it home, overheating, warning light, and when checked, over 20 codes! My husband now has to repair whatever they didn't do right. I only had him take it in because he recently injured his ribs working on it, he's 70, bones break easier, and now he has to risk that AND pay for a rental so he can go to work, another 250/wk. And no we didn't tell them to come get it. No way he will allow his truck in that shop again, ever. Possibly no shops ever. read more

I've been a loyal customer to madera chevrolet and toyota since they were Shebult Chevrolet. I've had 4 different sales people that I bought cars and trucks from. Unfortunately they have a whole new management team that is rude and disrespectful. Adam must be on something. He was very aggressive and did not care about customer loyalty or the businesses image by the way he carried himself. He didn't think I could buy a $68K truck with a $25K trade in and $30k in my pocket. Blackstone Chevrolet sold me a $74K truck with no issues. My loyalty now belongs to them. Honestly the worst experience I have received at a Toyota dealership. If you want to have an amazing purchase experience that really represents their core values then take a few extra minutes and drive to Blackstone Toyota in Fresno. When we were trying to buy a car, I had left to go to the bathroom for a short while. When I came back this man named Eddie Chavez was talking to my husband in an awful and an unprofessional way that I could not fathom how someone like that was ever employed. He had called my husband a liar and stupid to which when he wanted proof he had it but it seemed to make him more upset that he wasn't able to make a few extra thousand bucks on the car. Overall, the way he moved and tone of voice was very aggressive towards my husband that at the end he basically told us to go somewhere else and he was offering the bestest in all of Central Valley. I do not want my vehicle purchased here anymore due to that man's improper behavior. So it's July 8, 2021 and I just left Madera Chevrolet after speaking with the service manager Al. I had my truck there for warranty work and it sat for five days in the service department as they were trying to figure out my problem or so I was told...On the fifth day I called them and asked if my truck was ready. The lady on the phone said yes your truck is ready. I went down thinking my truck was repaired and was directed to the service manager Al. After five days of being at the dealership Al informed me that his technician and he could not figure out the problem with the front end of my vehicle. I left extremely disappointed and felt that the service department was incompetent. This morning I took my vehicle to an independent shop and within five minutes they figured out my front end problem. Call it incompetence or serious failure of customer service I call it both. I also have a buddy who had an oil change done there on his new vehicle recently and when he got home he found a huge pool of oil under his vehicle. The service technicians did not tighten the oil drain bolt. I was warned about getting service work there but I figured they could figure out my issue and fix it. Obviously I was wrong. I will never take any vehicle to this dealership again. I will never do business with this dealership again. I strongly advise you not to do business here. The service department and Service Manager are incompetent Example of the incompetency is they had my vehicle for five days and could not figure out what the problem was and I take it to an independent shop and within five minutes they've identified the problem. Go figure? I have, over the last 10 days, left two messages to speak with the general manager of Madera Chevrolet. I have not received any telephone call from the General Manager Marty. It just goes to show that customer service is not a priority at this location. Avoid the convenience and take your vehicle to another Chevrolet dealership. This one is a joke. So it's July 10 and Madera Chevy General Mgr Marty writes a response to my rating of his business. Over the course of my unrepaired vehicle issues I have left several messages with staff at madera Chevy to have Marty telephone me. But Noooooo Marty would rather respond to Yelp than to telephone a customer. Like I said before... don't take your vehicle here! No customer service what so ever! I'm still waiting for a phone call Marty!!!! Oh, you better talk to the service advisor who helped me. Your technician took it for a test drive and he did feel the vehicle drift right. I know this because your service technician called me and told me such. I even had a discussion with Al about this I told him what the service advisor told me. That's why it stayed with you 3 more day!!! Furthermore. My idler arm and pitman arm in need of replacement at 21000 miles. They are not subjected to anything from the leveling kit. My truck is NOT highly modified. Get your facts correct!!! You would have had all the facts if you would have telephoned me! Too late now. But don't worry, I'll never come back to your place of business. Hopefully others heed my advice. We spotted a truck on their website and called to inquire. Wanted to make sure it was still available before we drove an hour to see it and hopefully purchase it. Was told by Lisa that "yes we still have it" and we set appointment to come in and meet her to see the truck. Got there a few minutes early. Sales person went to get truck while we were waiting for Lisa and came back to tell us the truck was sold that they forgot to take off the inventory. Took my car in to have it serviced for a check engine light. I have a 2018 with 38k miles. They gave me the codes for the engine. Cool, I already knew what codes popped up because I have a scanner. They told me they still need to do more diagnostic work to my car to figure out what it is and it's going to be $1,400 for a engine tear down. I will have to pay out of pocket if its not under my warranty. Decided to get my car out of there and go to my personal mechanic. My mechanic had the diagnosis for my car in 30 minutes. He found it was a sensor. Labor and the part only cost me $125. Chevy charged me $135 for telling me I already know. They just gave me a paper with the 2 codes on it and they made sure all my fluids were good even though I told them I just got my car serviced 12/26. They really wanted to tear apart my engine when it wasn't even a problem inside my engine and if they actually knew what they were doing they would think of the small things first, then think about a bigger problem like my engine. They had my car for a full day 7am- close and all they did was tell me everything I ALREADY KNEW They basically ripped me off $135 for no reason. I didnt mind paying $135 because I thought they really didn't know but knowing it was simple fix that is literally on YouTube just blows my mind. Had my Chevy Malibu towed in for some work. I'm glad I'm paid for warranty coverage. Since my headlight was out on one side, I asked if they can change it. Oh and both of them because they up sold me last time by saying if one goes, so does the other. She agreed . I got my car back 2 Days later ( expected ) . They did NOT change the headlights. I ordered a 2014 corvette from john hartford back on 03.2014 and picked it up 06.28.2014. yes, I drove almost 500 miles to get there and approx 500 miles back in a new car! but... it was worth every mile!! from our first conversation, john respected me as a client and took me seriously. I mean, how many calls you think any chevy dealer received from someone trying to buy the hottest sold out car on the market and not willing to pay $0.01 over sticker? well, john helped me get the car I wanted without even a deposit. after we went through my order, a few months later I met the gentleman in person. the entire staff at madera were so welcoming and friendly. the driveway is killer for any lowered cars but other than that, best experience I've had. if they were half the distance, I'd consider to drive there for my service needs. if you're looking for a car, contact john hartford. you're in better hands than allstate. read more

Wow! Madera Auto Center was a breath of fresh air compared to other dealerships. They are a family-owned business, and one of the few dealerships that still understands that the core of their business is based on the relationship with the customers. My mechanic took extra time to listen to my concerns and help diagnose what the issue was, and it was very reassuring! He took extra care with my car. Do not go here. Find another place. Their main lady you talk to doesn't know anything about cars and it shows. They had fixed my truck, just for it to break down 2 weeks later for the same issue. Another shop then looked at it and told me the first shop didn't replace/repair items like they said. I had to take it to them again just for the lady to charge me for looking at the vehicle and to be able to tell me she "thinks" this is the issue and needs to be replaced. But again the issue I was having with my truck was a completely different part then what she wanted to replace. They are either very uneducated on vehicles or just trying to make more money from you, just for you to go back in. Not to mention they won't give you a rental vehicle even if you do it under warranty and they will give you an appointment just to turn around and say it never happened. Not a place anyone should trust to fix their vehicles. I've worked at a shop before and I've never been so disgusted with another shop and how it's ran. Waste of a business. read more

I live in LA where they are many Chevy dealers & ended up driving 200 miles north to purchase my Camaro ZL1 from Madera Chevy. That should tell you how they treated me. From the time when I first contacting this dealer inquiring about the car, through making the deal, taking delivery & follow up calls afterwards to make sure I was taken care off. Everybody I dealt with conducted themselves very professionally, did exactly what they said they would. Which is not so common nowadays. There were not so many of this model car Camaro ZL1 available here in LA, most of the local dealers in LA had an additional markup over MSRP - which nobody wants to pay more than sticker. Madera Chevy were not so greedy & offered a fair price on the car. I have purchased over 25 new commercial & personal vehicles over the last 30 years and this dealership is one of the most professional & easy to conducted business with. Both John in fleet Dept & Robert in Sales Dept, went out of their way to help me. I did most of the paperwork over the phone & via email with Angela's help from the customer service dept. Very fair competitive pricing and excellent customer service, Some of the local chevy dealers here in LA should take some lessons from Madera chevy in how to treat potential customers. There was no hard selling or playing any games. Just a fair, honest deal without any of the LA car buying drama. In the past, I would never spent the time to write reviews on any given business. But as a business owner myself, I appreciate & respect a well ran business & felt this company was worth taking the time to share my experience with other potential car buyers.. There are still some car dealers out there that conduct themselves with some oil fasion good values. It was well worth the drive back, enjoying our new Camaro & avoiding tickets. I do not usually give bad reviews, but I had such horrible service. I think they thought we didn't have the money for the down payment. But they never returned our phone calls. The men that helped us were both named Ed. Also there was a Mr Williams. But they really were nice while we were there but continually lied to us saying they will call us back. But never did!! We called daily for 2 weeks, they gave us excuses every time for not calling us back. Finally I got a call from the service lady saying they couldn't help us because they would need a large down payment. I couldn't understand why they couldn't help us since we most certainly have the money for the down payment. Without even discussing what they needed, they assumed we wouldn't have the Money and dodged our calls for 2 weeks!! I am so disappointed that there are still businesses that treat people like this. read more

I took my 2014 Malibu in twice for brake issues and they said they couldn't find anything wrong with it so they won't do anything. I asked for it to be looked over and nothing happened. This car has been nothing but a bad experience. I've tried dealing with corporate Chevrolet and no customer support AT ALL! Never again will I buy another GM product! 1 star only because it is the bare minimum! read more

Well, here we go again. The vehicle we were supposed to have picked up and repaired is still not working, hasn't been picked up and doesn't run. Today, the service manager suggests, to my sister who owns the vehicle, "to be more convenient" we take the vehicle to a dealership closer. Then they said over and over, they would pay for it ONLY if it was something they did. Give me a break, less than 24 hours after it is supposed to be repaired to the tune of 3307.00 they want to add this little line item. I feel if you spend 3307.00 to have a vehicle fixed it should work for more than 24 hours. I've heard lots of excuses, but bottom line is we feel they are shirking their responsibilities. I believe the vehicle was picked up the Friday before Thanksgiving and stopped working the next day (Saturday) Perhaps the Bureau of Automotive Repair will be able to assist. We will keep you posted on the progress and certainly report anything positive that happens. Right now, one unhappy, broke camper!!! Happy New Year! On Friday 3/24/17, I took my 2013 Chevy Malibu in to the dealership because my check engine light came on, I was heading out of town so they reset it told me it was safe for me to travel and to bring it in when I got back into town, so I did. The day I took it in the check engine light still had not come back on NO lights were on, they fixed my car's problem over the course of 2 days, when I went to pick it up I noticed that my Service Airbag light was now on. I asked the lady who has always assisted me that it was on and she said to me 'it was on when you brought it in' I said to her NO it was not. there were no lights on. She proceeded to argue with me. I know my car I know my light was not on. If it was I would have asked them to look at that as well and it wasn't on any of my paperwork. So now i am stressed out and don't know where to turn for help. It going to be my word against hers. read more

I took my new 2017 Chevy Silverado to Madera Chevrolet to have an exhaust leak sound coming from the driver's side to be looked at and be fixed. I was told that the tailpipe was loose and that was the cause of the sound at the engine which I knew would not fix the issue and it didn't. When I picked up the vehicle I was hoping I would have someone show me what work had been completed so I could know exactly what was done but I just signed the paperwork and given my key and I was on my way. I purchased my new truck at Madera Chevrolet and felt that they would be more willing to fix the issue that I was having with my vehicle. My wife purchased her Highlander from Madera Toyota and I purchased my 2017 Chevy Silverado from there as well and that will be the last vehicle I purchase from them and will not be going to Madera Chevrolet for any service on my vehicle. read more

My mother had the worse experience with the service/auto parts department. She ordered a part for her chevy truck that when received was broken no big deal she was ok waiting for a replacement. The person in charge of helping her told her it would take a few days to arrive which is understandable of course. Well this was back in june fast foward to now still no part. What really bothered me was the way they treated her , she allowed more then enough time for the item to arrive if its on back order they sure didnt say that. On one occasion she dropped by to see if the item was there the man that had been helping her with an attitude tells her "i said i would call you when it was in" well how about a courtsey call next time to let her know that for whatever reason the parts not in and you have no eta. The last straw was when i myself called on friday and spoke to a gal @ the service dept who said the part would be in monday. Sure enough it's Tuesday and its not here and they tell my mom "we dont get parts on mondays". We requested a refund but honestly im not sure if she will get her money back due to the lack of customer service they showed. Either they are liers or have no clue on whats going on.
