Went in May after the Sunday brunch crowd. They had a few specials going on which included ribs, fish and chips, and oysters. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were seated in the back with a view of the water and had no trouble getting started with orders.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The fried oyster appetizer was excellent, and the stuffed flounder. I did not try the crab cakes but it's definitely a crowd favorite and was enjoyed in our party. The ribs were not good- on the crispy side and not the most tender. The service was nothing to brag about but not bad either. Overall, a solid place for specific seafood items.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I had the pleasure of having brunch at Madigan's Waterfront this weekend. I joined a few new friends at the waterside seating, we could not have asked for a more beautiful day[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I called earlier to ensure that I could cover the tab for a group that volunteered to assist in a cleanup that morning in the Town of Occoquan. I had to stop at another meeting down the road and rushed back and forth. The restaurant Manager, Heather, was very pleasant and kept me informed in order for me to be there before they left. Heather brought Kenny to meet me at the door as our table server. He was very courteous and terrific at providing a top tier service that I always receive here and expect wherever I spend my money when patronizing a business. I have always received great service from everyone here at all times and shifts of the day. The food has always been on par as well. I believe the crux of being here may be the veil of dismalness and lack of TLC. You can smell it and it isn't the poo in the river. When observing the restrooms, trash dumpster and overall condition of the dining room/bar areas, improvements can be made and escalate the business in more ways than they can imagine. To make money (for the owners and employees) you need to spend money. Menu is good and solid, keep the selection and quality. The drinks are more at the Tiki Bar than inside. The staff are terrific, keep the ones that enjoy being there and have the best ones like Kenny, Mike, Heather, and Lenny lead and manage staff and service. Someone independent needs to manage inventory. Money is being drained by too many freebies from the staff and could be used towards a decent toilet to sit on and stall doors to lock. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are great events that take place here like live bands, solo musicians, line dancing, karaoke and others.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bottom line, this restaurant should not have an empty seat and I look forward to more improvements and happy experiences here.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] +- parking ( handicap available) + service + food presentation/quality/flavor - [[HIGHLIGHT]]restaurant and exterior condition[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

The plusses: The prices were okay, and the food quality was good. The Mad Burger I ate was very well seasoned with good crisp bacon, while the Ribeye sandwich was strictly knife and fork fare after a bite or two (it was a mess to eat but tasty.) The accompanying baked potato was on the cold side of room temperature. Housemade chips were crisp. The Meh: Service was slow and uneven despite only three tables occupied but it was friendly. I had to ask for my drink (coffee) a third time before it was remembered. But the waitress was very nice and engaging. The WTF: [[HIGHLIGHT]]Halfway through the meal they cut on a karaoke machine in the bar section.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There is a wall blocking the view from the dining area but it only extends half the length of the restaurant, so you are effectively in the bar when it comes to the noise.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Bad karaoke is not amusing or entertaining unless you have been in a bar for far too long.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] So go early or go elsewhere if you don't want to hear Sweet Caroline loudly tortured. Verdict: Price was okay for the food, an okay experience, nothing I will go out of the way for.

I really enjoyed my dish. There was a good amount of crab and shrimp and the gnocchi was well cooked. Service was quick and our server was very friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The patio overlooks the water which is really nice if there's good weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We'd definitely come back!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place next to the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Lovely service. I ordered Thai mussels and crab chowder. I will say the chowder was one of the best I've had. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Lovely place to have a bite.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

A absolute stop if your in between Richmond and Dc and want a fabulous dining experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The view was breathtaking and I loved that just outside the restaurant you can rent kayaks.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff were knowledgeable of the menu and ready to serve. I ordered the salmon bowl which was cooked to perfect. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant and the town make for the perfect day near the water.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

It is a cool location being by the boatyard, near the the Occoquan Lake and close enough to 95S. Have to take the family there next time. We got seated right away, no wait, ordered drinks and fried catfish appetizer - very tasty. For mains, one had lobster roll, one had crab cake platter and I had the salmon. All were made fresh, hot, and had the right amount of seasoning. I devoured mine - no leftovers. With our bellies full - there was no room for desserts. Our server was great. We specifically asked the waiter to bring out the appetizers BEFORE the entrees (you really shouldn't have to tell any restaurant this, but it happens a lot). Of course, everything came out at the same time. Also, what restaurant doesn't offer free refills on sodas? When I got the bill, I noticed that I was charged for a lot of sodas. I asked the waiter if they charge for every refill and he confirmed that they do. Customers should really be informed of this before offering to refill your glass.

Deliciousness - 4/5 Happiness - 5/5…read more I love Belgian beer, and Cock and Bowl is my favorite place to nab some of this great nectar. This place keeps the Belgian brews stocked across the spectrum. From fruity Lambics to Tripels (my personal fave) and Quadrupels, pales to darks. There's a lot to explore here. The food is pretty good too. The frites (fries) are excellent and pair well with the beer. They are thick without veering into steak fry territory, nicely crunchy, and packed with a pleasing amount of salt (and I believe a hint of vinegar). The waffles are also a standout, typically topped with light and airy cream. The merguez lamb sausage is also hearty and delicious. I wish the building itself was larger. There's only a few tables, meaning you may be in for a wait if you go during the colder months. And I recently had the chocolate mousse and didn't care for it. It was much more akin to pudding, and there wasn't a deep enough chocolate flavor to contrast with the whipped cream. There's no better place I've found in Occoquan to eat, drink, and be merry. I highly recommend you stop here when you visit.

We visited The Harbour Grill for a graduation dinner, and while the atmosphere was lively overall,…read morethe section where our party was seated felt disconnected from the rest of the restaurant. It was noticeably quieter, with no music, and lacked the energy and ambiance that seemed to be present elsewhere in the restaurant. Our server, Maddy, did a great job managing a large party of around 15 people. While we did have to remind her about a few condiments that were forgotten, that's understandable given the size of our group and the fact that she appeared to be handling a lot on her own. Throughout the evening, she remained friendly, professional, and accommodating. As for the food, I was starving and decided to stick with appetizers. I ordered the fried pickles, hush puppies, and chicken wings. The chicken wings were the standout of the meal. They were fried hard just the way I like them, and the spicy honey garlic sauce was the perfect compliment sweet, spicy, and packed with flavor. The hush puppies were decent, but the accompanying "whipped cinnamon honey butter" missed the mark for me. It was overwhelmingly sweet and lacked the rich, buttery flavor I expected. It was also brown and not the buttery yellow of whipped butter I was expecting. Instead of tasting like a butter spread, it tasted more like straight sugar, which didn't pair well with the hush puppies in my opinion. Unfortunately, the fried pickles were a major disappointment. As someone who absolutely loves fried pickles, these were probably the least enjoyable I've ever had. The restaurant uses pickle spears rather than the traditional pickle chips, and the batter didn't adhere well to the pickle. Most of it fell off after the first bite, leaving me essentially eating a warm pickle spear. I think cutting the spears into bite-sized pieces and ensuring they're thoroughly dried before battering would greatly improve both the texture and crunch. They simply lacked the crispy, flavorful bite I was hoping for. One bright spot beyond the wings was my Moscow Mule. It was delicious, strong, and reasonably priced. Overall, if I return, it will likely be during happy hour to enjoy the bar area or the outdoor patio with a Moscow Mule and an order of those wings. While there were some misses, there were enough positives to make me willing to give The Harbour Grill another try.
