This was my first time at PRFM. It's quite small but quaint. A few familiar vendors were here. I picked up some lovely peppers, lemon cucumbers and summer squashes. I loved the mixed organic pepper vendor since I haven't seen them at any other market. I've only been to lake forest park fm and shoreline this season. I frequent ballards fm but that was before summer produce started rolling in. There are 4 food vendors, a couple of drink vendors and 2 ice cream/popsicle vendors. A nice variety. I think there was also a wine/beer garden. I didn't go in to look. I like that this farmers market had ample parking in a lot behind the market itself. If I was around the neighborhood, I'd drop in again. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to drive all the way down here again for it though.

I happened to be in the area last Friday so I found some street parking and hopped on down to this quaint little market located at the Phinney Community Center. This not not a large set-up, but they have pretty much everything - including tons of amazing fruit, veggies, meats, and homemade goods. There was a pretty decent selection of food vendors, too - including many with vegan options, which was much appreciated as I'm doing a plant-based eating challenge currently. But my best bite of the day were organic strawberries from one of the farm vendors. I ate all the strawberries before I even left the market! Yum!

Cute, smaller market! Really good way to spend a Friday evening. Can't wait until June for the opening!

I loved seeing such a wide variety because everyone in our group was able to find something they genuinely enjoyed despite our different tastes lol Personally, I ended up buying a Green Amethyst necklace from Sea Diamonds, a ring from another jewelry vendor, a chain and three charms from a vendor in the indoor section, and even a custom poem from an artist who was creating them on the spot with her typewriter! That was definitely one of the most unique things I came across. As for food, I got to try the Crab Mac & Cheese from Sam's Crab Mac & Cheese and was completely sold after the sample bite (highly recommend!!). I also enjoyed a Mangonada from one of the Mexican food vendors, and the Watermelon Sour Cotton Candy from CottonMouth Confections, which was another standout and definitely worth trying!! Overall, if you want to fully explore everything the market has to offer, I'd recommend setting aside a few hours.

The market moves under the bridge during the winter and I can't speak to that experience but I love it when the sun's out on Sundays in Fremont!

I don't think I have seen more beautiful blooms anywhere else! I love that it was heavily focused on local small businesses, farmers, and FOOD. We stopped for a few bites along the way and were blown away every time. So good. This market is huge and stretches for a few blocks, so be sure to come early and give yourself ample time to explore. Also, with it being in Ballard, there are a ton of cool, hipster shops to browse while you're in the area.

Subsequently, I lost some interest since I don't live nearby. While I was in Ballard on a recent Sunday, I rushed to the market to see if it was still open. Officially, it was not; they closed at 2pm. But they were still packing up. I believe they are not allowed to sell after the official closing time; I asked one vendor, they declined. The staff wants the streets to reopen as soon as possible. As I walked the two blocks, several vendors still have some items on display on their tables. With a bit of wink, wink, accidentally dropping cash on the table and accidentally taking things off the table, I walked away with goodies. I won't say what I bought to avoid anyone getting into trouble. Street parking was easy enough nearby on a Sunday.

Christa is kind, cool and friendly whenever I have questions or want anything in particular. The main love I have for them is that everything is organic AND plenty of variety to select from! Yams, carrots, garlic? They gots 'em, yo. Their booth size is very decent covering a variety of roots, greens, herbs and jams. Lately, I've been loading up on potatoes, sweet potatoes and yams for steaming and baking. They're located south in the arcade - just a short walk north from the flying fish crowd. After one bite, my husband (who mostly ate spinach has his primary veggie), announced, "I never thought I liked beets, but these taste sooo good!!!" Growing Washington changed the way we cook and eat!!! We've been members of this CSA for three years and have offered our front porch as a hosting site. They provide 100% LOCAL and ORGANIC fruits, veggies, and even butter, flour, fresh flowers, herbs, and eggs. All the products are fresh and unique. The BEST thing about this CSA is that they provide a LIST of all the FRESH stuff on the farm that week, and you CHOOSE what works best for your taste, cooking style, and needs. You can be adventurous one week, and conservative next week. It's all so flavorful and delicious. I've been particularly impressed with the service. We've been going with the CSA for three years and anytime there has been questionable quality they always replace it, no questions asked. Two weeks in a row we got some icky misuna, and the third week they sent us FLOWERS. I always feel like I end up on top. Just another reason to love summer in Seattle.

From reading the first review, it seems like this farmers market has changed with the times. What was a farmers market with many produce vendors and a few food options has turned upside down. Instead, it now has a lot more prepared food vendors than ones offering fresh produce. The produce selection here is sufficient, but it would be better to go to the Ballard or the U District Farmers Market instead. The vibe of this farmers market is that it is well supported by the community, making it a lovely place to spend a summer weekday afternoon.

Some include - Seattle Pops and Vespucci Pizza, but some other regulars are Tijuana Tacos, Knife sharpening services, Olsen Farms beef & more, Alvarez, Farmore and Hayton berry farms, French Guys bread, Republic of Cider, Seattle Scones and more. Lots of folks like to picnic out on the grass, which is something you can't do at Ballard market, so points there to Wallingford. There is often a busker doing some music, a balloon animal maker and neighborhood alliance members with info about the going On's which is nice as well as information about the Farmer's market itself, such as getting space and merch. What I don't care for are the canvassers. I don't mind them campaigning for .... whomever, but it gets annoying when I'm approached by a canvasser when I enter the market, I'm approached by a canvasser while I'm hanging out in the market, and I'm approached by a canvasser when I'm about to leave the market. It's too much. That all said, Wallingford Farmer Market is a nice way to support farms and small businesses and operates every Wednesday afternoon and always has a nice turnout for support.
