This review relates to the whole company, rather than the Roseville location. There is NO communication between the schedulers and the individual locations (which frustrates even the stylists!) and clients can't communicate with the location directly. For example, I can't call them to tell them I might be a few minutes late, or to ask if they can take me early, etc. And they tell you that you can choose your stylist (for continuity) but the schedulers will often change your stylist without telling you, without giving you the opportunity to change your appointment. In addition if you call the main corporate number for questions or scheduling, you may be on hold for an hour! That was my experience. The whole experience is very impersonal. read more

Quick and nice place to get your products. The ladies there a very nice and knowledgeable of the products. They have many different colors to choose from and it's a one stop shop for everything you want for your hair. I have been using the product for the last couple years and I have zero complaints. I typically go to the location in Walnut Creek. I will continue to go there in the future. I was 11 mins late, my fault did not realize it would take over 1.5 hours to get here. This will be first and last time at this location. Because I was 1 min over the "Grace" period apparently they took another client. Seems that, that decision was made prior to my arrival. I wouldn't recommend this place for anyone who wants to get their hair done! They seem to know what they're talking about but they really don't! They don't do much hair options, they do only neutral hair colors and root touch! I paid $163 for my hair for some highlights and it look like something I could've done at home! Well what I thought was going to be a great experience turned out to be a nightmare for me. I am starting to gray at the temples and had read such wonderful things about Madison Reed's hair color via mail order. I was shopping one day & noticed their salon in Roseville I was unsure of what color to order on line so thought this the perfect solution to that. I would make an appointment to color my hair & discover the perfect color match. That is not what happened, I made the appointment sat in a chair no mirrors, odd I thought.A young woman came out with an iPad & begin to show me photos of hair colors?? A stylist should look at your hair and know what color to use, I have never heard of photos & honestly could not tell color from a photo.Before she started I was very clear that my skin stains easily and to apply a barrier.She applied a color in a very hurried sloppy manor to my hair. Poof she was gone there I sat for 45 minutes no one ever checked on me, I begin to worry the color had been on way too long, I got up to seek out someone to help me no one around. When I went into the back I found a person that only shampoos hair gone was the woman who applied the color. Now 50 minutes have gone by she informed me I was next by the time she shampooed my hair almost 60 minutes had past. After the shampoo I left the salon with my hair damp. After shopping and running errands all afternoon I drove the 45 minutes home. I noticed at a stop light near my home my hair was different colors and my forehead was satined as well as my cheeks. When I got home I tried to call the Roseville location, you can not call into the location only the corporate call center.I was leaving on vacation the next afternoon. I went to my local salon and was told she had applied the hair color unevenly to my hair thus the multiple shades. I received a full refund minus the tip, This was not about the $ what I was looking forward to as a relaxing wonderful experience was anything but. I recommend you stay with your salon and have your stylist help you with a color mix if you want to do your roots at home and return every six months or so for an all over color. I had an appt at Madison Reed in January. The highlights were great, their color match for my roots was awful and at the end, they tried to cover it up and blame it on the lighting. I made a follow up for a touch up for my highlights. I ended up cancelling the appointment a week later (1.5 months prior to the touch up). Never thought much about it, then today I get a email that I was a no show and they charged me 50% of the fee. Mind you, no reminders were sent that the appointment was still on so I assumed it was truly cancelled. I'm going to be calling tomorrow and requesting a refund of my $112.50 that they charged without my consent. Not impressed and won't ever go back now! read more

I would give this place a one star. If you were looking to be a blonde, do not go to this place they are not experienced. I sat there for three hours. They never put me under the dryer and I still wasn't as blonde as I wanted to be. Actually, the color looks the same as when I came in no change no difference I paid $194 and sat there forever and FYI after they're done with your hair they do not touch it they send you to a different section and you blow dry and comb your own hair out. Don't waste your money ladies this place is a joke. I will make sure all my friends and family never go here. I'm going to pass it on to everyone I know do not go to Madison reed it's a waste of time and money.. and I could tell the ladies didn't know what they were doing. And another problem as you're sitting there someone is putting foil in your hair. Clients are coming in and they stop to help them while you're sitting in the chair. Get a receptionist !!!! my time is just as important I am they're spending good money to get a crappy highlight, and the girl is constantly helping people come in the door. Also, I couldn't believe how dirty the floor was. Color was everywhere it look like it hadn't been mobbed in a week. I will make sure everyone I know and Roseville do not spend your time and money to go to Madison read. It's a waste of time it's a joke. Obviously if they are not experienced. Actually, if I had written a check, I would place to stop payment on it. Frankly, I'm going to look through my bank to see if I can get some kind a refund or file a complaint against the company on how bad their services and how unexperienced these girls are my hair looks terrible. I went to book hair color but stopped when the system asked if i wanted to have my hair blow dried for an additional $45 or do it myself for $0. What?? I'm not saying give them a free blow out but complete the service! You're literally making the client work just to see the end result since wet hair is a different color than dry. Just build it into the cost instead of turning people off from even booking. read more

Drop in the other day to purchase a kit to use at home. The stylist helped me pick the right color. I used the kit and the results were excellent. I got compliments from my whole family when they saw my hair after I was done. Will definitely use the kit again. read more

My experience today was nice, handled by GM and colorist Libby, who did her best to tone down my copper highlights that were intended to be honey, from last week's job done at her salon by another. The final color remains a bit coppery, but it's much better. To retain healthy hair, she toned it down twice, rather than recoloring. I was happy about that decision. Libby provided me great service at the end of the day, and discounted my cost a bit. Thanks Libby, appreciate your effort! read more
