We bring four animals here- cats and dogs- and every experience has been great. They've been super helpful with all questions. The doctor called me back within a day when I had more questions about my dogs lab results. One of the things I love most is that every person that works there is clearly an animal lover. It's the best when someone celebrates and is patient with your furbaby like it was their own! Also I have no idea what the previous review was talking about in regards to a temple/church being upstairs? I have never seen or heard that. Took my kitties there for their wellness visit before they were neutered and that visit went well HOWEVER, I was quoted a price for neutering my kitties of $202 each... but that is NOT what I was charged. I was charged $400 for each kitty; I was shocked beyond words! Apparently I was charged $162 for their lab work which I was never told about and charged another $36 for something else that I never knew about. I will NOT be bringing my pets there again. Additionally, when I spoke with the manager about this, I was dismissed. I was told that price point is normal and there is prep work that needs to be done, which I understand however my point was, I should have been told the ACTUAL price when I initially called and then I could have budgeted accordingly. I've been going there for over 30 years with my pets, and even have insurance thru them, and today I had an emergency with my anaimal and they told me they were busy so I went up there to find and empty parking lot no one in the lobby and half the staff was upstairs in the temple they rent out for money, after I talked to manger she than told me the doctors were out of the country, so if there is no doctors how are you open and fully booked, the girsl there Megan and crystal were very rude and disrespectful to me, I than got my paper work and left as they locked the door behind me, I looked behind as they all went upstairs to the private temple to pray, and get paid for being there when there is not even a doctor there, so why ate you even open, I will be calling the BBB, watch your animals when you go there and what they charge you, I than went to another vet come to find out my dog needed to have his nail removed amd could not wait cause of the pain and infection it would have caused. They saved my cat. That simple but I guess not for every vet. Several months ago one of my cats ate a little bit of "velvet grass" from our yard, which I later discovered is poisonous to cats. He got so sick, and wasn't eating and drinking for almost 2 days, so I decided to take him to a vet close to home. I was really concerned about his kidneys. They took some blood to perform test which resulted in a very high score for kidneys (very bad result), but their recommendation for treatment was far from my expectation, so I called Madison Veterinary and told them that with such a bad results I want my cat to be put on IV fluids, to flush all remaining toxins and not kill his kidneys completely. I spoke with doctor Rollo directly, he was very patient on the phone and agreed that this is the best option we can do, and to bring the cat as soon as I can. Long story short, they took the cat ants kept him for 1,5 days, giving him a lot of fluids and performing additional blood and urine tests. I got several calls with updates on the status of my cat, and at the end of second day they told me I can take the cat back home because he finally started eating, he is much better and the blood and urine results are normal. I was insisting to keep him one day longer, but the doctor Rollo said, it really doesn't make sense and he will be better at home at this point. I got my cat back, he is doing very well and in the following 2 weeks I got few calls from doctor Rollo about his status. Overall, everything was very professional, I never felt rushed or anything. The visit took a long time and they checked and asked a lot of things about my cat, which I never experienced in other places. I know they may be more expensive than other places, but if it comes to your pet health, I can trust that they will do the best and no money is not the first thing I consider for my pets health. read more

Madison Veterinary Hospital pads their bills. I brought my dog in a few days early for her annual appointment because she was experiencing quite a bit of pain from a bad tooth. My vet tech was Ashley. My veterinarian was Dr. Grube. We got there ahead of our 8:30AM Emergency appointment and were promptly put in an exam room where we sat for 20 minutes. Eventually Ashley came in and I explained that my dog had been waking us up for the past couple nights in pain, panting, shaking, drooling, etc. The right side of her mouth was very swollen and she was in obvious pain. Dr. Grube took her to examine her and upon her return told me that she "didn't think she was in pain as much as she knows somethings' up." Um....what? Red Flag #1 Ashley then presented me with 3 "estimates"....the first for $481 requiring updates on all my dogs shots (even the ones she doesn't usually get), various tests, etc.; all of which Ashley told me "had to" be done before they would treat her tooth. The other two estimates were for $1,780 and $2,230 respectively. This is for cleaning her teeth (a $455 procedure) and a possible extraction. It is also about 3-4x what anyone else charges (Red Flag #2) so I asked Ashley if there was any flexibility in the procedure prices and Ashley said, "Yeah....there's a lot of extra stuff added on there." (Biggest Red Flag #3) So now we're almost $500 in, my veterinarian not only does not diagnose my dogs problem but doesn't even recognize she's in pain, no one has done a single thing to address that pain, the estimates are at least triple what any other Oakland County veterinarian charges, and by their employee's own admission the bill is padded. The quality of care here is no better than any other local veterinarian despite costing 3x as much. I'm sure Dr. Levy will jump on here with some malarkey about "worst case scenario estimates" and what a great veterinarian Dr. Grube is, but all I can say is this whole problem is resolved within 48 hours of finding another vet and for $1,300 less than Madison Veterinary's lowest estimate. So if you're thinking of taking your pet to Madison Veterinary Hospital all I can tell you is that Kimball Animal Hospital in Clawson provides outstanding, compassionate care - without having to pay for any "extra stuff". read more

Honestly flabbergasted. I've been going here for a year. Had zero complaints until we decided to take our other dog in. He is a rescue and has some issues of course. The vet was great and we had planned how we were going to move forward with his treatment as it looked like he may have Cushing's disease. The day before his 8 hour testing appointment a tech called to go over the plans for the following day. Not only did she tell me we were not going to move forward with the planned treatment that the vet and I had planned, I asked her why did my vet change the plan, apparently my vet was not there this day and 2 other vets told her they would not recommend moving forward with this plan. This was her words. I asked if my vet was consulted about this decision and was told no. I was quite upset with this change of plans and told the girl to cancel my appointment as I was not comfortable coming in now and to please have my vet call me in the morning to discuss this. I never received a phone call. A week latter I received a letter in the mail telling me I'm not a good fit for the practice and they would be happy to forward my dogs paperwork to a new vet? SERIOUSLY?!?! The only thing I said was perhaps you should have a staff meeting on how to discuss treatment with the vet that is doing the procedure before making changes on treatment that was already planned out with the actual vet before a phone call is made. Needless to say I have never heard from the vet or anyone other than this dismissal letter. My take away is that the Dr knows nothing about this or the Dr didn't know what she was doing? Regardless I'm happy to do my business elsewhere. read more

This is an outstanding group of technicians, doctors and staff. From the moment they met my sweet girl they cared for and loved her like she was on of their own. They were available for every question and numerous phone calls during my cats treatments and only ever made me feel cared for and supported. From a basic check up, medications, surgery, recovery and eventually euthanasia, they have made the whole process incredibly gentle and kind. I was never left wondering what was happening, and always felt she was in the absolute best care possible. That has given me so much comfort. Thank you to this incredible group of people. I've been going here for over 2 years and didn't realize how much they overcharge for basic check ups on my dog. The visits for my perfectly healthy adult dog average about $500 and that's only for one visit per year (they push for twice a year). The prices are bizarre for their flee/tick medication and basic vaccines. I will never return here after hearing how much my friends and family pay at other vet clinics for their pets. This is a long, disturbing story that I'll try to tell as well as possible. We've used MVH in the past and been happy with the results, but when our 11-year-old cat stopped eating, things went terribly wrong. We weren't thrilled with the treatment she received, but it wasn't clear what was wrong, and I understand that vets don't have the ability to read the mind of a cat. At the end of the day, the treatments she received didn't work, and it became obvious that she was in too much pain to keep going. My wife took her back to MVH on a Thursday morning and said that unless they had a cure that would work very quickly, we had decided it was time to let her go. She was starving and desperately wanted to eat, but the pain was too intense to do more than take a couple nibbles at her favorite foods. The vet proceeded to try to sell my wife two very expensive treatment options - an ultrasound that had zero chance of finding anything that could be treated without even more misery and a dental exam that would have had us spending several hundred dollars for them to either find nothing or pull all her teeth with zero guarantee it would fix anything. After talking it over, we decided we weren't going to do anything would prolong her agony and, in the best-case scenario, leave her facing a long, painful recovery starting from a very fragile condition. So my wife said we were ready to let her go, and the vet said to call when I got home from work and they would set things up. We had already had a cat put to sleep at MVH and they had taken us into a large room that allowed us plenty of space, let him walk around a bit and pass away in a calm way that was as painless as possible for him and us. We expected that to happen again on Thursday evening. We called and they asked us to come back at 8:00 - their closing time - so we could have the vet's undivided attention. We got there and, to our surprise, were escorted into a tiny exam room with two very uncomfortable chairs. My wife stood while we laid Storm's favorite towel on the other chair and she curled up for a brief nap. The vet came in, told us they were having a busy night, but they would try to get us into the large room designed for this purpose. She then gave us a teary-eyed speech about how we were doing the right thing and there were no other options available. This was odd coming from a vet who had suggested multiple options a few hours earlier. It came across as rehearsed and insincere. She then left to attend to the family using the euthanasia room - so much for getting her undivided attention - and we waited for the tech to come in. We had two simple requests: when they inserted the IV line and swaddled her, could they wrap her in her towel under the blanket, and since she absolutely hated being held at the best of times, could they give her something to calm her? The tech returned with her loosely wrapped in the towel and nothing else and told us the vet hadn't given an order for a sedative. We stressed how much she hated to be held, but the tech simply said the vet would be right in. We then sat in this tiny room for more than 20 minutes, trying to control a terrified cat who was in terrible pain as she tried to fight free from our arms and the towel. We ended up having to trade her back and forth with one of us holding her while the other petted her and tried to keep her calm. Finally, the vet comes in and asks if we are ready. We say yes and she unstraps the IV line and gives her the first injection. When we had Kai put to sleep there, he was swaddled in a blanket and given the first injection. The vet then took the time to let him drift off to sleep before the second injection, which ended his life painlessly and peacefully. That's not what happened here. As she continued to squirm in my arms, the vet immediately made the second injection. Storm convulsed in my arms and died with her eyes open, staring at me with her tongue lolling out of her mouth and her body twisted. When Kai was put to sleep, the staff told us to take our time before leaving. This time, the vet took Storm's body away, brought back the cat carrier with the towel in it and said she would walk us out. We were so horrified and angry that we just walked out without paying any attention to her. My wife and I will survive with some bad memories, but Storm died scared and miserable without receiving the slightest bit of compassion. They called on Friday to let us know her ashes were ready, and we asked they have printouts of our other cats records for us to pick up. We were both too angry to even set foot in the building on Friday, but we will go on Saturday, get her ashes and the medical records. After that, we'll never again set foot in the building. read more

Details: I am writing this review because I am disgruntled and to also discourage anyone from taking their pet to this vet. The main reason is they care more about how much money they can suck out of customers over a pet's well-being and they handled my dog very roughly and couldn't find the problem. I called about half an hour before closing to confirm if there was any availability to see my dog. The person on the phone said that if I wanted my pet to be seen before closing, they would charge an emergency examination fee of a hundred and some dollars. I said that's fine. 1) Upon arrival, I had to wait over 20 minutes for a technician just to see my dog. I fail to see how this is emergency service. Emergency service should be expedited. I could have gone to an emergency vet to get expedited service for a cheaper emergency fee. This is absolutely unacceptable. 2) I could see my dog was experiencing pain in the rear but I couldn't pinpoint where it was coming from. The very and an assistant did some test and the assistant handled my dog very roughly and put her arm against my dog's head to the floor. Very unacceptable way of treating an animal. I wonder how she would like it if someone did that to her. They displayed no empathy. After doing preliminary tests, the vet recommended more tests like an x-ray, blood tests, and a whole host of other unrelated things that made the estimate over $600. The technician was trying to sell this to me. 3) I paid for the ridiculous "emergency exam" fee and painkillers and left. After going home, I did my own tests with my dog for about half an hour and touched every part of his body to see what was causing the problem and saw that he started whimpering when I touched a certain part of his tail. That was what was causing the problem. The doctor couldn't even figure that out and instead recommended to do all of these worthless additional tests. Are you kidding me? What did the doctor learn in school? How to scam worried pet owners $600 of useless tests? I brought my dissatisfaction to the technician's attention to which she said she had no authority to do anything but would get a manager or owner to call me back to discuss the possibility of reducing the examination fee. After waiting 2 days, I received a call and the best I got out of the manager was that it is "not their policy". That's a great excuse. How about this. It's not my policy to let people charge me for emergency visits that aren't even prioritized as emergency. To summarize they are 1) Trying to rip me off, 2) handled my dog very roughly, 3) the vet could not diagnose a simple problem. I am writing this review in hopes that people will not take their pets here. The level of quality is unsatisfactory, and to rub salt in the wound, they try and take advantage of you. I would defer any potential customers away from this incompetent vet to a more honest vet that isn't as money hungry. read more

Dr. Rollo has been my 14 year old Layla's primary care vet for all her life. I have NEVER had a bad experience with him or any of the other vets and I have seen or talked on the phone with all of them! The women he speaks of with the blue and green hair are the kindest most polite and helpful young people I have ever met! He complained that they don't give injections in front of you. When Layla was young I didn't want to let her out of my sight. I simply asked if they could draw blood and give vaccines in the exam room so I could console her. Not one time did they refuse me and that went on for years. If I have called to request a call back I always get a call that day! One time Dr Rollo called me at 10pm. I think the problem here is Gary! I'm sure they will not miss him one bit!!! When you want the best care for your pets you go to the best Vets! Simple as that! read more

We absolutely love Madison veterinary Hospital for so many reasons. This review as long overdue, but better late than never. I can't tell you how much I adore this sanctuary of love for all fur babies! Dr. Levey was an absolute angel when our Vito passed away last June. She sat with us, cried with us, reasoned with us, supported us, held us, and was just simply there for us in so many ways that we never expected our vet doctor to be...Dr. Levey made our extreme grief a wee bit easier to bare, and she even called too check in on us. The staff was an absolute stand up bunch that day as well - I don't know what my husband and I would've done without all of their genuine love & kindness. We were heartbroken broken, and they knew that, but just them being there meant the absolute world to us. Every staff member at Madison Vet has always been upfront and honest about any procedure or pricing. We've never felt that we were taking advantage of; only that our adored almost 14-year-old pup was given the best care possible. And now... We were lucky enough to receive Gino - another Italian cockapoo - Dr. Levey welcomed him right into her arms with such warmth, grace, and enthusiasm. She was so truly happy for us that we were able to open our hearts, our home, and ourselves to another love - never a replacement-but our new family member. I truly felt that she was on this journey with us and so many ways, and for that I will always have a special place in my heart for her as well as everyone who encouraged us through this whole process; including Ashley, Shelby,Dr Rollo and now the new Dr Marzella (sp?). Dr. Rollo was just plain wonderful with Gino's sterilization surgery - he healed right up and we felt not only was the price fair, but his follow-up care was above and beyond. Dr R also extracted a couple of G's baby teeth and he was back to his old self in a few days. Just yesterday, we had to take little Gino in because of an incident with scissors and matted fur (toootally my bad). Dr. Marzella (sorry again!sp?) was just so gracious and comforting, and the priority pricing was so incredibly fair, that she even went ahead and did his "SAFE" exam including his heartworm test since we were already there. So...now you see; this incredibly loving practice is one we would without a doubt highly recommend. These are the many reasons we still see the family who recommended Madison Vet to us 15 years ago, and that we run into numbers of our friends that we've since sang Madison Vet's praises to! The staff here are so unprofessional and you can see it from the time you walk in with employees who have odd hair colors like blue and green. They only care about making money and not your pet. They don't even give vaccines in front of you so you don't know if your animal actually got a vaccine or not. It's super shady. No one ever calls you back when they say they will. People will just go on break or go home for the day in the middle of helping you and leave you without what you need. They charge a convenience fee for medication even if you are already on site - it's totally ridiculous. There are way better places out there this place has horrible customer service. After moving to Michigan in 2016, we needed to find a new vet for our dogs. We had been going to the same vet in Ohio for twenty years, with multiple pets, and my original position was to continue seeing her, making the four hour drive a few times a year. Since that didn't really seem logical, the search began. We lighted upon MVH and it seemed like a good choice, at the time. The facility is large and clean, staff was friendly and cheerful, and our Dr. Rollo seemed charming enough. Our first visit went... okay. One of my dogs is a rescue, and had been significantly abused as a youngster, so he's very cautious around new people (especially men) and protective of his 'little sister.' But the staff seemed to understand and didn't force him to do anything he didn't want to do. They encouraged me to sign them both up for a health plan, which involves a down payment and a monthly fee, to cover 2 checkups per year, vaccinations, bloodwork, flea/tick/heartworm meds and discounts on other services, including dental. Two dogs = two health plans = two monthly payments, to the tune of about $100 a month. Sure? Why not. Our subsequent visits went quickly downhill. Dr. Rollo seemed less understanding of my dog's special needs as time went on, trying to force the dog to behave differently, being less patient and kind with him, and also began pressuring me to take advantage of other (pricey) products and services. He discounted everything I said, almost laughing at my reasons not to do certain things, and talked down to me. As though I had never listened to my vet in Ohio and couldn't possibly be intelligent enough to understand my own 10 year old dog's circumstances/needs! About a year in, "special dog" was injured, and we had to make an emergency visit for XRays and an exam. The entire experience was cold and unfriendly, nobody listened when I asked them to please be patient and gentle with him. They took him into the back area, and I could hear a ruckus and sounds that I knew were coming from him. It was heartbreaking, because I knew they were making him do something he wasn't comfortable with. But I trusted them, as they are veterinary professionals. When they brought him back into the room, he RAN to me, and smelled faintly of anal gland residue and sterile soap. His entire back half was wet. I asked what happened, as I consoled him. They said they were unable to get XRays from a certain angle because he was uncooperative. Upon my return visit, they immediately handed me a muzzle and said the file notes stated he was aggressive and tried to bite someone. Turns out, they tried to turn him onto his back (forcing him into a submissive position, knowing he is an abused rescue dog) and were apparently surprised when he tried to nip and expressed his anal gland all over the place. Poor sentence structure aside, he must have been absolutely terrified. You would think they would have anticipated this from any injured dog. The next visit involved an eye issue with "little sister" and, rather than pay a LOT of money for the unnecessary surgery they pressured me into (which I subsequently canceled), they convinced me to renew the health plan to receive a discount on the services needed. I did, and then they came back in the room with completely different flea/tick prevention than they had offered the previous year - something my dogs cannot use as it has made them ill in the past. When I told them we cannot use it, they refused to take it back, discount the plan or write me a prescription for anything different. At the time, I hadn't yet decided if we were doing the surgery. Several months later, my debit card was stolen and I had to replace it. I did not contact them to update as I didn't want to continue paying them for services I did not intend to use. They sent me to collections, and I hadn't decided what to do about that... but then... Recently, my "special dog" presented with another injury and, due to Covid-19, I didn't want to attempt seeking a new vet. I swallowed my pride, called them and asked if we could be seen, and acknowledged the past due balance. I asked if I could make payment arrangements for the amount I owed. They flat out refused, and said they would not see us unless the balance was paid in full. When I told the woman on the phone, through tears, that I am laid off due to the virus and would be happy to make payments, she nastily said, "Maybe you can find someone else to take him." I have never felt more disrespected in my life. While I understand that there is a balance on my account, to be denied service in an emergency situation due to a balance is heartless and shows very clearly where their priorities lie. I will never recommend this office to anyone, and they will not get another dime from me. Don't be fooled by their big smiles, and don't fall for the health plan scam, either. They have some good vets here but I feel like Dr Levy killed my dog. During his yearly checkup she casually mentioned that he had a heart murmur. She didn't suggest we do anything about it, suggest any work-up or xrays, or tell us it was serious. A few months later he started coughing and breathing heavily. I brought him in asking for an ace inhibitor but they refused to even give him that unless I did a "package" of tests that cost $800. I took him to a different vet who gave him an ace inhibitor right away, which helped him. We were getting set up to do further testing the following week when he collapsed - we hot his heart xrayed and found out it was massively enlarged. After reviewing his chart I found out that the murmur Dr Levy found 6 months before was severe (she never said this) and that he should have been xrayed and put on medication immediately. Two weeks later we brought him in for acute care and Dr Levy suggested giving him a sedative. She said that it would be no problem for him. He was dead within the hour. Dr Levy is a nice person but I don't think she is a good vet. We would never risk taking another pet into Madison. read more

Prices are outrageous compared to other vets in the area. Standard office visits are almost double. Why? It's close to me but I can't justify paying such high prices for standard office exams, shots, and can't even imagine serious ailments. Shame that they take advantage of pet care needs and have prices that are unaffordable for many pet owners. read more

Dr Levey is amazing. I have been able to reach out with the most random and likely annoying of questions and concerns, and she has been responsive, caring, detailed, and insanely knowledgeable. Highly recommend to anyone who only wants the best for their family. read more

I have waited a while to give this place a fair shot. We are not happy. The plus is that the vets are decent. Only reason for a second star. But, their billing process has been HORRIBLE. We opted for a year-long payment plan for a year's worth of service for our kitten. We thought, 'what a great plan because it includes all the kitten's first year of care, We have had SEVERAL billing issues with their payment process. This week, it did not get withdrawn , we spoke with someone at the office to make sure to bill us, and then.... then call us to say it is delinquent. WTH? In the past we had an issue where the office supposedly called to remind us of our appointment and claimed to have spoken with my significant other, which was a lie and did not happen. She can't carry her cell phone at work due to the nature of her job. We are locked in our plan unless we want to pay a fee. Fine. With the multiple office issues, it's clear we just need to move on. After the year, on this plan is up, we are going somewhere else. read more

2 points: 1.) Way overpriced compared to other vets in the area- their prices may have gone up recently. No amount of data nerdery warrants what they're charging. 2.) Took my parents dog here to be euthanized. First, they take the dog AWAY from you into the back to put in a port in order to administer the shot. Why? Why take this already stressed dog away from an already stressed family to shave her paw and stick a painful tub in there? Here's the kicker: they administer the shot and say the dog is gone. Through my tears, I notice the dog is still breathing.... That's when I blew up. You had ONE job MVH. They had to come back and administer a SECOND shot to "put her down". What if we had taken them at their word? What if we had left and our sweet dog was still alive? I should also mention the AWFUL policy of running your credit card BEFORE they'll do anything related to euthanization. Like, ok, here's your receipt, now we can ease the suffering of your beloved pet. Sick. I'll never go back to this vet. The reason I've left it at 2 stars is because they have provided solid service for our pets in the past- however, after the heartbreaking and awful experience we had here during our dogs final moments, I can never stomach setting foot in their business again. read more

Love these guys! My dogs receive top-notch care. I have to say Dr Coleman goes above and beyond. He's done everything possible to provide amazing care - and Dr Scott is great too. My dogs have had everything from routine checkups to surgery here. I highly recommend Madison Veterinary Hospital. Wouldn't take my furry ones anywhere else. I had a very pleasant experience here today with my dog-neice, Lulu. my sister is currently a million months pregnant and has her hands full with a 3 year-old, so when I heard Lulu was lethargic, hiding near the back door and shivering I jumped in to get her to the vet. They use this office, and I was impressed. My bro-in-law called ahead, and I was able to take her in right away. The waiting room is nice, large and divided. It does look "well-furnished," however (while I like the frills, someone has to pay for it, catch my drift?). Dr. Scott saw Lulu and was very thorough and friendly. The price on the estimate I saw seemed a tad high for a handful of tests, but it was emergency-style and necessary. She spent part of the day there for the testing. Overall a very nice place. They had Lulu tested, diagnosed and home with medication a mere 4 hours later. Very nice! read more

i have two dogs. and yes -- i treat them like children. Since we adopted our first girl as a puppy we've been taking her to Madison Vet. The staff is so friendly and helpful. They get you in quick if there is an emergency. Dr. Coleman is the best. We've had a few of the different vets that are in the office and while they are all great we always make our appointments with Dr. Coleman. He is the nicest guy! They are very thorough here. Each appointment includes a "head to tail" exam. i have felt comfortable since day one bringing my girls here. We were first time "puppy parents" when we adopted Penelope and they were fantastic. they answered all of our questions. gave us advice on training. When we decided to adopt another pup the first people i called were the girls at the Office. They had one of the Vet Tech's call me back within a few minutes to offer some hints and suggestions on how to integrate our new puppy into our home without upsetting our oldest girl. It is this kind of personal attention that makes me feel comfortable having them be our doggie pediatricians. read more

I previously called this clinic to request an ultrasound for my cat who had a mass in his abdomen as our current vet did not have that specific technology. I explained what was needed and was told that a vet exam costing $75 would be needed prior to an ultrasound. I offered to have any records submitted to their office from our current vet as I didn't feel it was necessary to have a whole new exam for one specific issue, and they declined citing their policy. I think it's utterly bogus that a distressed pet owner who is looking for a specific service would have to make their pet endure an unnecessary vet exam when it has already been conducted. I was luckily able to find another animal hospital to assist without being money hungry and who genuinely wanted to help my cat. I would never suggest this vet office. read more

I purchased my shih tzu Dice from The Family Pet inside of Oakland Mall and this is the vet that they use to care for their puppies until they find a home, then you get one free visit after you take one home. I have been bring my dog here ever since. Dr. Scott is amazing! He really cares about animals and he is very knowledgeable. Dice loves him. He does somewhat rush through the appointment sometimes though. It is always clean inside, with the exception of dog hair and dog smells. They clean up doggy messes very quickly. The staff is very nice and attentive. The prices are a little more on the pricey side compared to other vets. They offer a wellness plan that you pay for monthly that covers the cost of neuter/spay procedures, a few check ups, vaccinations, tail trimmings and a few other things. It does not cover random visits (like if your dog is sick and needs to be seen) or medications. Also, they seem to be very busy. Every time I try to make an appointment, I have to wait at least a week. Other than that, Dice loves this place and he is a very active and happy puppy! read more

Veterinarians and ER Doctors, historically, are not well-reviewed. This is understandable; the worst scenarios happen in these two places and leave many with NOTHING to appreciate, with the exception of a lost beloved pet. As I am the owner of the largest boarding facility of dogs in the state, I can ad some quality information to those who read the reviews. My company has used Madison Veterinary Clinic since the passing of our on-call veterinarian, Dr. Magner. While his practice still exists with many other doctors, much has changed, especially the reduction of their hours of operation. This prompted us to find a new alternative. After visiting almost every local veterinarian and having an extensive knowledge of them through the 10,000 clients whose pets we have boarded over the past decade, I can say we have never heard bad things about Madison. Since they have been our on-call vet we have used them a half-dozen times in 12 months; all visits were as they should be; when stitches were pulled, they were replaced at no cost (even when anesthetized). We proudly use Madison Veterinary Clinic, and ALL of their fantastic and caring Staff, Assistants, Technicians, and Veterinarians.
