So, I will start by saying I ordered the wrong thing. I got the steak sandwich, and I did really enjoy it. I just enjoyed my parent's cheese pizza better. It sounded much worse to me than it tasted. I don't even like plain cheese pizza normally, and then they said it doesn't have sauce and it really didn't sound great. It was amazing, and I wish I'd ordered that. Please don't think I'm saying don't order the steak sandwich, it was really very good (and huge). I just LIKED the sandwich, I LOVED the pizza. Service was great as well, the waiter was extremely nice and funny. I am looking forward to coming back. The prices are reasonable for what you get as well. read more

I can cook frozen food and canned food much better. But first, let's talk about the waiter who acted like he really didn't want to be there. Basically, here's your menu, what do you want? Didn't tell us what the specials were, didn't offer suggestions. Never came back to check on us. Mind you, there were only 2 tables being waited on. The Chardonnay house wine was worse than vinegar. The crab cakes were obviously frozen. The remoulade tasted like bottled thousand island dressing. Ordered the steak bite appetizers with ranch barbecue sauce. The bbq sauce was squeezed on the top. It was ok but seriously, is this place a restaurant or a dorm? Main dish. My daughter ordered the Filet with mushrooms and baked potato. $1.50 extra for loaded. What a joke. A baked potato with canned processed cheese. The mushrooms were not present at all. Requested the mushrooms and got canned ones. Next, Shrimp Scampi. The angel hair tasted weird. No garlic flavor. I tasted some lemon, maybe some Cancun flavor. Not too sure. I gave my daughter a shrimp to taste and she immediately spit it out in a napkin. Not sure if she was exaggerating, I cut one open to taste and wow, did it smell bad. Passed it over to my husband and it was confirmed. The waiter came by, we asked him to smell it at which point, his nose crinkled and he took the dish away. He did ask if I wanted something else. By then my appetite was ruined. My husband had The jambalaya which he said was actually good. My daughter wanted dessert, but what she wanted was sold out. Now, the bill. The shrimp scampi was not deducted. The waiter stated, per their manager, it is not their policy to deduct from their bill even if the food is bad. Whoa, excuse me? You're going to feed me rotten shrimp and I have to pay for it? Don't think so. Wanted this place to be good. How it has over 4 stars is a mystery to me. read more

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. My wife and I picked out a variety of things from the menu. The steak bites were very tasty, as was their featured burger with an egg on it. I had a French Martini and it was packed with flavor. Overall a very good dining experience. Casual yet classy. My understanding is that the place is still a little newer. Word will get out about this place fast. As long as they maintain their quality and personal touch, they will easily be one of the local favorites. read more

First time for 4 of us. The place was hopping on a Saturday night, but no wait. We got seated immediately. Food came quickly. Very fresh. I recommend the spinach artichoke dip for appetizer. I had the grilled salmon, very good. Staff was friendly. Only complaint I had was the waitress hovered over our table, constantly coming back, it was annoying - wanted to take our plates before we were done. Other than that, food was great. The service was friendly and very helpful. The food was even better than expected. If you like blue cheese dressing, this is the best we've found in a very long time. I had the pepperoni pizza and my husband had the bayou shrimp. Both were exceptionally good. In addition, I had an old fashioned, which very few bartenders know how to make right anymore. Went shortly after they opened and had a great meal. Back in the area some months later and we decided to try it again. Not the same for us. I had a salad that was way overpowered by bacon and blue cheese. I never thought there was such thing as too much bacon, but this was. We wife had a big plate of wings with the expectation we would take them home. BBQ wings were ok, but the spicy thai peanut were not at all what she expected. Our first visit to this pub was 100% perfect with excellent service while the establishment was busy. Tonight, on the other hand, we were the only guests when we arrived. The waitress was great, advised us of some delicious specials and was very engaging. We arrived at 7:15, received our appetizers and drinks. Our waitress checked on us. At 8:20 our waitress came to our table and let us know that the kitchen closed at 9pm and asked when we wanted our dinner. What?! When are you asked to be served dinner? She immediately became defensive and told us that she kept checking on us. I have never in my life told a waitress when to serve me dinner. If this woman was honest and told us she forgot to put in our order it would be one thing. However we sat and watched her sit at a table, folding napkins the entire time. There were two other tables seated after us. Neither were hers. Needless to say we will not be back. To top it off we were not thanked on the way out. We did not ask or would not take anything for free. We paid for what we ate and drank. We are both in the service industry and this is not how you run and stay in business! read more

Tomorrow will be our 3rd visit in 8 days and we have nothing but accolades for the atmosphere, menu selections, food, service, access, parking, etc. This is the best iteration of dining that has been housed in the building over the past 35 years (that's how long we've lived in Burr Ridge). Our parties have had soups, fish, sandwiches, pasta, pizza and fries - and all were excellent! I am personally a big fan of the fries (including the novel serving cup) and the wood-fired pizza. Portions are big so come hungry. You will not be disappointed! read more

People are very nice. Food is ok, but not good. Pizza crust taste like nothing. Maybe too much oil, no salt n not enough rising? Toppings are tasty. Salad dressings are not homemade. Octopus is chewy, but edible. We have been several times. I think the jambalaya is good. I would go back because the people are nice and the bar is good. My friends all like this place. First time at Maddison's looking for someplace new on a Friday night. Very satisfied with the food. Ordered the Southwest wantons as an appetizer. They were 4 large egg rolls that our waiter called American style. Very good but too much for two of us. We took 2 home. I had a Ruben sandwich, that was enough for two people and my wife had the Cobb salad and soup. Both very good and very large. Overall nice place. good food, large portions, I don't drink beer much so maybe I am out of touch but my Stella draft was $7, a little high? On the other hand my wife's Chardonnay (house) was $6 and a generous pour. Will go there again only making sure I am a little more hungry. read more

We have been there at least four times now and each meal has met our expectations and then some. It is wonderful having a new "dependable" restaurant in this area. The artichoke dip is amazing... a meal in itself but not enough to deter me from ordering my favorite.. the Meatloaf...rich in flavor and the portion is plentiful. Oh my God! Wife and I came here after finding it on Yelp and let me tell you we are impressed! Baritone Brian ( as we called him ) functioned both as our bartender and server, and not only was he super attentive - he made some mean drinks! My wife enjoyed his sidecars, while I was more in a beer mood, taking in a Dirty Bastard Two Brother Lagunitas, Krombacher, and Metro Afterburner! The food was better than the drinks. French fries have a meaty body with amazing flavor and perfect texture. I'm really picky on the coleslaw, but must say I gave this one a 7 out of 10. The ribs we ordered looked skimpy at first glance, but wow were they amazing in both flavor and texture - so tender you could easily pull them apart. The most awesome appetizer I've ever had was here and they are called Southwest Sticks. These are more like gigantic eggrolls, stuffed with chicken and a host of other ingredients. Truly unique! I highly recommend you try this if you go here. The jambalaya was a perfect 10 - I could not believe the generous portions of shrimp, chicken, and sausage. read more

Our server was prompt and courteous. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip as a starter; passable, if a little salty, but not bad. My wife had the crab cakes, which she enjoyed--mostly crab vs bread crumbs or other filler. I had one of the burgers...and I was not very impressed. It wasn't terrible, but I guess I was expecting more given the reviews by others. It was a basic pub burger. The fries were ok and I was provided a generous portion. Frankly, I don't understand all the negative reviews. I have been here several times and so have other people I referred to Madison's. Each and every time the server was exceptionally warm and got our food to us quickly. We have never had a bad meal; all the food is great.
