A new brewery that opened where a previous one used to be, I admit I'm blanking on the name, but this version is very nice, with a full food menu and beer list. Feels like a nice sit down restaurant. I got the Baton Rouge Chicken Sammy which was good, and a nice portion size, and then to drink the Pazzo's Taproom and the Little Light, enjoyed both. They also have several beers available to go in cans. The space is pretty big, can hold a good amount of people. It's a pretty popular spot, it's right next to the Metra station, so it can get crowded, especially on a weekend night, but thankfully we were able to get a table without a reservation, but wouldn't hurt to to have one. My wife and I visited Whiskey Hill Brewery & Kitchen yesterday 5/17/25. We have visited here a few times now. The layout of the Bussiness is very nice. Everything was clean and you feel comfortable. As usual their BA beers were good to excellent. It was Thursday so their wings were only 75 cents each, we ordered a half dozen buffalo and they were really good. Unfortunately we also ordered one of their daily specials which was very disappointing. The dish was advertised as 2 jumbo prawns étouffée. I'll start by saying that the prawn were of proper size and cooked perfect. The overall seasoning for the dish was terrible. It honestly tasted as if white rice was cooked with celery placed on the plate with the 2 jumbo prawns on top of it and then a heavy handed amount of Cajun seasoning was sprinkled over the dish. The flavor of the étouffée was very bland. As you can see in the picture there is a sauce too, but it was thin and didn't provide any flavor. We arrived about 3pm and sat at the bar. It was not very busy. The server took a while to as about drinks, but once ordered our drinks arrived quickly. The server came back and we were not ready yet for our food order. This is where the service really went downhill. There were a couple people in the corner of the bar with laptops who appeared to be fellow employees maybe also a manager. Our servers complete focus was on them. We couldn't even make eye contact. We finally ordered, but then she was right back in the conversation. We waited for to boxes and again for the bill. This place was a fantastic discovery for our family! We're into craft beer and quality food, and this had both of those and more! We went on Saturday May 10th, as a "night before Mother's Day" dinner out for me! It was a delightful experience. To start with, there was a very friendly greeter at the door, welcoming us and showing us to a table. The place has very nice rustic, cozy decor and relaxed vibe. The craft beers were amazing! And we are usually quite picky - but they had SO much good quality stuff on offer! We tried 4 different beers - 1. The "DB Duskbringer" (an excellent Imperial stout), 2. the "Catalyst BT & J" - (A delicious blend of 2 stouts, aged in Buffalo Trace and Jeppson Bourbon barrels), 3. the "Peach Cobbler" (my personal favorite - a fruit beer with peaches, cinnamon & brown sugar - not overly sweet, but tart and fruity) and 4. the "Red Wine Supernova" - (a complex and delicious "wild ale"). The food was equally amazing. Everything tasted very fresh, very tasty and cooked to perfection! I had the Shrimp Napoleon salad (mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, toasted almonds, wonton crisp, lemon pepper and dill marinated shrimp) which was absolutely delicious. My daughter had one of the specials - the "Giant Prawn Etouffee" (two U/4 tiger prawns over Sarasota roux etouffee and rice) which was spectacular - we all had a taste and it was delicious. My husband had the "Fish Fry Platter" (lightly breaded and served with fries, creamy slaw and their home made lemon dill tartar), which was very good and satisfying. At the end, we got a dessert to share, which was fun - special New Orleans "beignets" - deep fried pastries, sprinkled with powdered sugar and served hot, with two different dipping sauces, chocolate and fruit. Tried to sit in a booth but the bench seats were way too low and tight to the table. Switched to high boy but the stools were not comfortable. I felt like I was sliding off of them (the grey ones with backs). Food was ok. Appetizer prices were as much as a meal. Oh and we just had water to drink and the bottle of water at table was a nice touch, but were only given a small plastic cup to drink from (odd) ! I am a superfan of this local gem. The ambiance is modern, cozy and lots of natural light. The food is artisan and the chef makes everything from scratch extraordinary. They have a vast cocktail, beer selection, and desserts. My favorites have been the Prime Rib Sandwich, Steak Bites and the Jumbo Prawns to make a few. The staff is super friendly and the beers are great. I greatly enjoy their sour beers. The low star reviews are entertaining to read (the child related ones). I was here when a young couple tried to sit at the bar with their child. The staff said no minors at the bar. The couple threw a huge fit/tantrum and stormed out. On the way out, they said, "You lost our business." The staff even offered family size tables and seating near the bar. The entitlement of some people. Kudos to staff. They handled the situation well. Don't let that 1 review sway you. This place is 5 all the way. read more

I happened to be in the area when I noticed this location is now open! Service behind the bar was super friendly. (I believe her name was Amelia). She reviewed the menu and offered samples. I thought I remembered their tap room at their previous location having more stout type beers. I was happy to see the variety of seltzers, sours, and ipas. This location also has a cocktail menu and food menu. I didn't try food on this visit, but I definitely will return to try. Indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of seating and it's spread out. Was in the area and decided to stop in to check out the new space. It was a weekday afternoon so the place was dead. The entire place smelt like burnt plastic and it was beyond off putting. I have been to many breweries in brewing days and this smell was not related to making beer. Decided to sit at the bar, seating wasn't comfortable. The stool has very low backs that don't really allow for you to lean back or you could choose a stool/couch seat? Strange. Checked out the menu but nothing really jumped out so decided to stick with just a drink. Beer was mediocre, nothing to write home about. Staff were friendly and attentive. Our visit was a disaster, and before leaving and ordering dinner, we just gave the server a $20 bill for my soft drink and my wife's glass of wine. We were with a group of 15-20 people, and we were seated at a table of 6. We were told they couldn't split the check, so we'd have to split it ourselves. ANY restaurant can do that these days. Figuring out how much to put on each card would have been a mess, and not something customers should have to deal with. Also, they wanted to move our group to another room, and they told us there would be one check for the group. That's beyond ridiculous. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I'm pretty sure the waitress talked to our host about moving us, and she didn't like what our host told her. When she turned around and was facing me, the scowl on her face was, uh, memorable. There's more to tell about her, but basically we felt we were inconveniencing her. What a shame. We're not into screaming to be heard in a restaurant. If loud noise at dinner is your thing, more power to ya, but it's just not for us. We ended up going to Uncle Bub's with another couple, where we had a great dinner, good conversation and extremely good service without having to scream. I think this is my first bad review on Yelp, but it's well deserved. The food may be great, but we'll never know. Now that I think of it, I guess it's my second bad review. The first was for a place that was far far worse than Whiskey Hill. Oh well, can't win 'em all. read more

First off, I would like to give major kudos to the servers and bartenders for their great service. They are super attentive and informative on the food and beer there. I had the steak rangoons which had a good amount of filling and the brisket was just perfect for these with the cheese stuffing. The wings were surprisingly meaty and with the Thai chili sauce it had the perfect balance of salty and sweet. The mexicana salad is too amazing to rave about on here. It's big, juicy, and crunchy at the same time. The fries were a delicious surprise as I have not seen fries like what they have anywhere else. The drinks; beer or cocktails, the bartenders are great at giving you recommendations based on your flavor cravings. There's a beer and cocktail for everyone. this place is great for family gatherings, friends or a hot date night. read more

Hit or Miss. When there's 3 IPAs on the menu, and you don't have any of them... when it's 1 week from September and you don't have any Octoberfest beers... (most breweries start October fest Marzens and Festbeir early) Liquor stores are currently flooded with this stuff. My wife an I also did not enjoy the Wiessbeer. it will never win any awards with how cloudy and messed up it was brewed with banana peel and other irregularities. It left me wanting a Hacker Pschorr. The Lager and Amber were fine. The Burger is good, Fries are good. I cannot recommend the Pizza, or the Pulled pork ragoons. The ragoons were pulled pork in a fried wonton, with a tacobell-esque special sauce, clearly made with taco seasoning. The same lackluster sauce was presented with the chicken strips which the family did enjoy. Chicken was juicy and we'll order that again. We live so close I was excited for this place to be as good as their brewhouse 1.5 miles away. but unfortunately the lack of beers and hit or miss menu might have us try the other new Westmont establishments. read more

Stitch visited Whiskey Hill Brewery & Kitchen in Westmont, Illinois on a sunny Sunday afternoon. He sat outside on the patio, soaking up the sunshine and was quickly greeted by a friendly waitress. While many beers were sadly out of stock (boo!), Stitch managed to snag a Muy Bonita--an easy-sipping Mexican lager that went down smooth, like sunshine in a glass. First time here. Brought the family. Good start to the whole thing, as I was having trouble booking our size party online, so ended up speaking to Red, who runs the bar. She said put the res through again and stay on the phone, and she intercepted it and took care of it in real time. Amazing. We went at 6pm tonight, not crowded, but it definitely picked up before we left. Lillian was our server, and was fantastic. We ordered a bunch of different things, all were good, including the cocktails. My cole slaw fell partially off my plate, which was not a big deal, but Lillian insisted on bringing me more anyway. The menu indicates a few items that are coming but not yet available, and some of those look pretty cool, so something to try next time. Very good beer selection. Great food, great service, nice decor, good music piped in. Zeppelin was playing as we walked out, which was a great touch :). After waiting forever for this place to finally open, it was worth the wait, and it's walking distance. Great addition to the Westmont restaurant scene. We don't have a ton of variety in this town off the main drag, but we do have a bunch of great places to eat, and this one is close. read more

I have now been there twice now and have left both time with mixed feelings. We had a large group the first time and service was good, but the food was just ok. We tried the pizza (prime rib) and it was not very good. The beer was good, but they were out of many selections. On our second visit, the service was not good and there were fewer beer selections. I had high expectations for this location, but was sadly disappointed. It was slow when we arrived, which I figured meant we would get more attention in our service. I was wrong. Slow I guess means the wait staff is less attentive and more interested in sitting at the bar looking at their phones. The beers were all low carbonation, which makes me think their CO2 tanks needed to be replaced. The beers were not that great, just meh. I did enjoy the Mexican lager, but for some reason only got a lime with the first one. We had to wave like crazy to get our server's attention every time. The food was actually pretty good though. I had the chicken fingers. I opted to swap out the fries for the onionettes, but they we no good. Pretty much just onion strings and not cooked consistently. The ends were nice, but the clumps were soggy. My friend got the fish fry which was cooked to perfection. The entire place just seemed "surface nice" like someone who flipped a house and used cheap materials. In the end, I won't be returning. Sad, because its in a nice location. read more
