I reached out to Kaella of Madix & Co to get information on the services they offer & associated pricing. Even though my event budget was lower than what she usually works with, she wrote an incredibly fast and kind reply. I was impressed because it would have been so easy for her to just not reply (given it was probably very clear from my budget that it wouldn't make sense for us to work together), so it says a lot that she wrote such a thoughtful response. Her email included all of the relevant information for me to make a decision, and when I confirmed that unfortunately the investment required to work with Madix & Co wouldn't work with our overall budget, she sent a lovely response & even shared a couple of suggestions for venues that she thought might work with our budget! Again, it would have been so easy for her to just not reply once she'd gotten confirmation that we would not be booking her. Kaella has such a great eye for design and her events are impeccably done. They are each consistently stunning and unique and we were so glad to be able to work with her for our wedding. As a Covid couple, we were uniquely lucky enough to work with Kaella for over 2.5 years while planning our October 2021 wedding (originally scheduled for May 2020). While planning our wedding, we truly went through the gamut with Kaella. In March 2020, we sadly postponed our May 2020 wedding to May 2021 (which was already fully planned and nearly fully paid for) and Kaella was able to rebook all of our vendors and minimize the financial loss as a result, which was amazing. We were all set! Then our wedding venue (Calistoga Ranch) burnt to the ground in the Glass Fire in September 2020. Once again, we couldn't have done it without Kaella who now had to help us find a new venue and re-plan the entire wedding. She handled it all with grace and we were again so grateful to have her help navigating a re-plan. Joke's on us though because we eventually had to figure out a third plan. Our new venue (Four Seasons Napa) was supposed to open in December 2020 and by February 2021, it was clear that it wasn't going to open in time for our May wedding. Take three - we decided to move the entire wedding to October 2021 at the Andaz Scottsdale and Kaella stuck with us once again. Kaella worked her connections and helped us to plan a truly stunning event in a location she had never worked in before. Our final wedding was so incredibly different from our initial vision at Calistoga Ranch, but that was one of the things that was so amazing about Kaella - she was able to translate our initial vision and unique style into something new and fitting for the much more modern Andaz. In the end, we had an amazing wedding and although it was 17 months later than originally planned (and significantly smaller thanks to Covid), we couldn't have been happier. Kaella is an extremely experienced and organized planner, and I can't recommend her enough! We originally booked with her before the pandemic, and she helped us through the process of rescheduling twice, managing to keep practically all of our original vendors. Speaking of vendors, all of her recommended options for makeup, photography, florals, etc. are extremely high quality people delivering top quality services. Getting to choose from the Kaella-approved list made life so much easier! Kaella is also great at tailoring all aspects of the wedding to your personal needs and tastes. One main goal of ours was to feature both cultures equally, and Kaella helped us find an amazing bilingual officiant and a dressmaker with experience in designing multicultural dresses, arranged/prepared our Vietnamese ceremony items, and her staff handled food pickups from specialty restaurants for our brunch the next day. She also did a great job nailing our aesthetic tastes (minimal and modern yet warm and organic), and injected some great ideas that made the tablescape really fun and memorable. Last but not least, you do not need to worry about day of logistics or contingency planning when you have Kaella. She takes care of all the stuff that comes up, so you don't need to worry (and might not even notice if anything went wrong)! Choosing Kaella as our wedding planner with the full-time planner package was just about the best wedding-decision my husband and I made (besides deciding to get married!) Here's why. 1) Kaella goes above and beyond. She answered emails late at night and first thing in the morning, on weekdays and weekends. She came to my hotel room the morning of my wedding when I asked her to help me steam my dress at the last minute. (Kaella, if you're reading this...I'm sorry!!) Gosh, writing this is making me even more grateful for all of the things that she did without question that I'm sure weren't part of the "job description"... because she is a wonderful soul who cares about her clients. 2) Kaella listens incredibly well. She had us fill out a questionnaire up front that asked us about ourselves, our relationship, and things that were important to us. This little touch became crucial later in the process - when the details on our wedding day were so "us"! For instance, words of affirmation are our love language, and she suggested we incorporate them into our big day. So, we wrote affirmations for every guest...which we, and everyone else, loved! When we told her we had certain style preference around photographer or dress, she was able to instantly make tailored, helpful recommendations -- usually with 3-5 vendor options (the perfect amount of optionality that didn't feel overwhelming) 3) Kaella has impeccable style and taste. I asked her opinion on so many wedding things. My dress. Invitations. Website. Hairstyle. TBH, I follow her personal Pinterest page because now I know that I want my house to look like what she pins. But hey. It's pretty cool to trust someone to so beautifully pull a wedding off. We had so, SO many guests come up to us the day of our wedding and tell us these were the most stunning details they had ever seen (and I didn't think anyone but wedding planners actually said "stunning details" in real life...) 4) Beyond having great taste, Kaella is an organizational and planning wizard. She knows how to make the process entirely stress-free and manageable but also make you feel like you have a say in what's happening. The morning of my wedding day, I felt so zen. The hotel concierge said we were the most low-stress wedding party they had ever seen. That was entirely Kaella's doing. She had spreadsheets and timelines and checklists to make sure we were totally set and ready to go. I never felt stressed throughout the process. (And I am a super type A planner and former consultant, so this is saying something.) We hired Kaella to provide partial planning and design services for our August 2013 wedding at Beltane Ranch. She was one of a few planners recommended to us by our first planner who had to pull out due to family circumstances, which created some stress for my husband and me, as we are both professionals working long hours and did not have time to plan a destination wedding ourselves. Enter Kaella. She called within a few hours of receiving my emails, and put me at ease. We hired her immediately, and are SO glad we did. I put off writing this review because I could not figure out how to adequately describe how amazing she is at what she does. Not only is Kaella is highly organized, professional, forward-thinking, responsive and genuinely sweet, but she has an incredible eye for design. After you have discussed something, she gets things done behind the scenes without any direction, which is awesome if you are busy. She is not pushy, works seamlessly with your vendors and has a great way of presenting multiple ideas and tweaking them with your input. It usually ended up that she knew what we wanted better than we did, but she always patiently answered our questions and put up with our occasional second guessing. I think is is very rare to find all of these traits in one person, but she really has it all and it made our lives so much easier and less stressful. Our wedding ended up being very us, but a version that could have been pulled from a magazine and it ran so smoothly. We definitely attribute this to Kaella. To top it off, her rates are insanely reasonable. Given the amount of work she puts in and the quality of the final product, she could easily charge much more than she does. I booked Kaella for her Custom Partial Planning and Design package and I honestly can't imagine the day going any more perfectly. I also couldn't imagine doing any of it without her there!!! My fiance and I initially met her over coffee and we liked her instantly because she's incredibly nice and professional, and she isn't the overly bubbly, eager type of personality that sometimes comes with the events industry. She's very down to earth, composed, and she listens carefully to what you have to say. It's a great energy to have around on such an important day (and leading up to it). She took my scattered ideas and formed the perfect wedding theme for us and helped to build everything around that. The color scheme, the welcome table, the details ...... it was all a perfect fit to what I had imagined (and attempted to describe). And all the while, she is so incredibly organized and on top of EVERYTHING. Not a single detail falls through the cracks. It's mind-boggling how she manages it all! One of the things I loved the most about her is that when I had ideas she would go over them carefully with me and a few times I ended up realizing that it didn't fit with the theme and she would help me go in another direction that fit my vision better. Walking into the venue that day (and seeing the photos of everything) it was seriously perfect and she had so much to do with that. Kaella was our wedding planner for our wonderful wedding at Gundlach Bundschu last July, and SHE's THE BEST!!!! Every detail was thought out beautifully, and we really enjoyed working with Kaella. She offers different packages and we opted for the "full comprehensive design and planning service" and I'm SO glad we did!!!! She was SO organized, incredible attention to detail, always pleasant and upfront about the costs of everything. We didn't go out of budget and my husband appreciated the spreadsheet listing the breakdowns of everything, when it was due, etc. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her ideas of our outdoor tent and lighting (at first, I thought chandeliers would be too much, but OMG when I saw them in person and especially now in pictures, THEY'RE AMAZINGLY BEAUTIFUL), the gorgeous tables settings, our caterer -Ramekins was amazing! I remember being concerned about the little ones being bored at the wedding like kids do, and Kaella came up with the idea of having a service 'take care' of them with art projects and even a pillow fight for the older kids towards the end of the night! We not only got compliments from the kids but also from the parents who were so impressed by the idea ---KAELLA's IDEA!!! In fact, SOOO many, if not all, of the aspects of our wonderful wedding was from Kaella, it made it so easy for us. Our flowers were amazingly beautiful, and Kaella didn't flinch at all when I suggested we give them away to our guests at the end of the night (I hate thinking about those wasted gorgeous bouquets/arrangements!) and she had the florist (who was amazing) wrap them up in simple paper. My guests LOVED taking them home! There's so many details that I just loved, but can't list them all, but another one are the wonderful chairs and couches that we had set up during the reception-- not only were they gorgeous but I'm so glad our older guests had places to sit and lounge. I'm not good at thinking through all the details, and plus of course it stresses me out, and so I was really thankful that Kaella handled EVERYTHING!!! In fact, looking back, I wish I took asked her more about my wedding gown, which I bought independently but I wish I had asked for Kaella's input/advice. Towards the end of the planning and close to our wedding day, when I was feeling a bit overwhelmed, I remember my (now) husband saying "I know everything's going to LOOK AMAZING and BE PERFECT since Kaella's taking care of everything", and it was such a true statement!!!!
