I will never be able to express how grateful I am for Mya 2 weeks ago I went to another salon wanting a long bob and a trendy grey and a Brazilian blow out ?(I have an annoying wave that I wanted smoothed out and frizz control) communicated clearly, had pictures, asked if it was doable with where my hair was at. I specifically asked the length be long enough to put in a ponytail. Over $300 later What I ended up with was crushing. I went back the next day to have the color fixed a bit but ended up with spotty hair. I cried. It was awful. Nothing remotely close to the pictured or the length I had clearly indicated I wanted. The next day I went to a consult with Mya for a possible color correction/ extensions etc just to get my hair back to where it was before I went to the salon I initially had gone to. I might add that for years I had a great stylist but she moved to Vegas. Before I went to the first salon I did my research, checked reviews etc which were all positive. Mya was super sweet and reassuring as I was at a complete loss as to how I went in and communicated clearly, had specific pic of both color and cut and ended up with what I ended up with. I was able to schedule with Mya and went in today quite nervous given my previous experience. She listened patiently and made great recommendations and she fixed my botched color/cut! She worked a freaking miracle! If you are looking for a colorist/stylist please save yourself a traumatic experience and see Mariah. You will not regret it! FYI I don't know Mya. Hadn't met her prior to that first consult so this isn't one of those "friend favor" reviews. It's the real deal. read more

Today I went to the salon to dye my hair, after being consulted by the salon staff two days ago, but they didn't get the color I wanted, and as they advised me, they still forced me to I paid $ 78 USD for hair dye. Although very unhappy, I politely gave them a tip of $ 20 USD. They asked me to come another day, they will continue to dye, but will still charge me to continue, and they also said that there is no guarantee of the color. If so, why didn't they tell me clearly during the consultation so I wouldn't have to spend money on this unprofessional hair salon. Disappointed after having to part my ways with Madril. Britney is nice and does a good job but this last time I wanted focus on my roots and she missed chunks on the top when highlighting so I kindly asked her if we could fix it another day and get the spots that were missed. She ignored my texts and I had to reach out to her again and she still ignored me all week long and didn't acknowledge the problem at all which to me is crazy. I wasn't mad I just wanted to get it fixed and she made zero effort to respond back to me. Then I texted her I still needed my regular hair appt and she got back right away and made no comment on the other issue which I think is beyond rude. I also had a previous issue, she had asked me if I could be her model for the spring photo shoot on a Sunday and I was excited to do so then all of a sudden I never heard back from her wondering about it all week long until I finally called the salon the day before and she's like oh yeah it's cancelled and didn't even let me know and I find that very rude! What a great experience I had at Madril last week! I original scheduled for a haircut but then called earlier the same day and asked if they also had time to do a perm. They fit me in. Britney and Carlin tag teamed doing my perm and Britney did my haircut. They listened well and asked good questions during the consultation. Both were very friendly and professional. The results are lovely. They also gave me practical advice for how to style my hair at home. Extra Props to Owner Crystal - I saw her discretely walk through and observe throughout my 4-hour appointment. It was nice to see her keeping her finger on the pulse of things. I wish I could give this place a negative review, I did t even make it to my spot. Upon entering the girl asked for my documentation for my service dog ( this is highly uneducated and wrong! Service dogs are not legally required to carry paperwork.) I told her that service dogs do not carry paperwork nor are they required too and she said its law that I show her paperwork documenting my disability and what he does for me... I almost fell apart and burst into tears, this is also super wrong and illegal. The only two things she can ask is 1. Is he a service dog, and 2.) why has he been trained to do for me. I explained to her that asking a service dog owner for documentation and to explain their disability are both very wrong and I asked to speak to her boss, who she keeps explaining are "her rules" Her boss doesn't come out to speak to me but proceeds to speak loud enough for me to hear round the corner that I also "by law" am supposed to have a vest on my dog showing that he's a service dog..ALSO WRONG I've never met a more uneducated and rude business. I even asked them to show me their "salons rules and laws" that she kept referring too. I left in tears and have never been treated so poorly by a business. read more

I will NEVER go to this hair salon again!! Tell me that they HAVE TO take the blue out of my hair (I get purple peek-a-boos for over 4 yrs now), because purple should NEVER fade to blue. Well, after SIX hours, I have LOTS of purple in my hair, and within a couple of weeks IT starts turning blue, and then TEAL!! I look like a peacock!! Some people may like that color on them, I do NOT! Today, the manager, Brittany I believe, was EXTREMELY rude to me, because I didn't think it was fair that I have to pay for them to fix my hair. I go ahold of them within 3 weeks but the person that did my hair and myself could not get our schedules to align until today!! Still hasn't been quite a month!! I was charged for extra product already...which was a falsehood...because as Brittany is NOW saying..."hair color is unpredictable!!" She treated me like I had threatened her with bodily harm...she was just the RUDEST! Great business! Very small but the space is well utilized and elegantly decorated. The staff seem very knowledgable and do top notch work. They also carry the Surface line of natural hair care products which are a rare find in Boise. Daisy gave me the best cut and color! I don't trust people with scissors b/c I always end up with many layers or "face framing layers" or usually WAY too short ( I have curly hair and apparently most people here don't and no one knows how to cut for curly hair). Anyhow, I came in with a mile of dark roots, very Charlize Theron playing Eileen Warnos in Monster, and my chemical hair cut resembled her also. I look as expensive as I am and she fixed me right up. The salon is cozy and cute and pretty and full of good vibes ( I am SUPER sensitive to stuff like that so it really makes a difference). Plus, it's in my hood, and far away from everything and everyone ( something I consider a huge bonus). Lanza has an amazing repair product, Daisy was kind enough to bless me with, and my once hay cotton hair, feels like hair.
