Wife and I got two delicious sandwiches before heading down to Lake Washington. Owner was working the counter and explained how the tomatoes had changed to a sun dried tomato garlic pesto based on a pizza he'd tried- which was very friendly and tasty. I think each sandwich was $12.99 which was a great value compared to anything of similar quality. Market portion seemed to have a solid selection of snacks and ciders and beers. There is a laundry mat a block from the Madrona Market and Deli. This market charges $4 for a $10 roll of quarters. So technically you will pay $14 for a $10 roll of quarters. They are taking advantage of the laundry mat customers. This type of business should be illegal. read more

Been coming to the location for twenty years, they always had samosas and other deli items, plus minimart type goods at decent prices: but with the latest change in ownership, it's feeling like we're being taken advantage of. Energy drinks are literally twice the price anywhere else, for example. Everything is Disney world prices here - you want a cigar? Sure, just add $10 to the price of each one. So a $8 cigar anywhere else here is $18!!! I don't mind paying a couple bucks extra on an 8 dollar item, but $10??? Come on guys, this is not making you popular with the community, and it feels like we're being fleeced. Such a shame too, it wasn't always this way. Not everyone who lives here drives a new Tesla. I'm shocked by the low reviews. Great place to grab snacks or a bottle of wine! The owners are community-minded and customer-focused. They're innovating and trying new things. It's all about location, just like at the airport when the only stores that sell bottled waters have inflated prices because it's all about supply and demand. Such is the case for Madrona Homemade Deli Market. Since I volunteer at the nearby school I've visited this neighborhood market for drinks and snacks. Prices are expensive. If you don't want to drive to the regular grocer and are in the Madrona neighborhood then this market has the basics, just like in any neighborhood market. They do make sandwiches here with Boar's Head deli meats and cheeses, which is nice to have this option for when I forget my lunch and need something before volunteering. But I haven't gotten to that point yet. And quite honestly, with the prices of supply and demand here, I'm hoping I never get there. There's nothing bad about this place. It's clean, the clerks are nice. It's got a decent selection of goods. That's all fine. The deal breaker is the mini bar pricing. Expect to pay at least 25 percent more for anything you buy here. That's absurd. It's a great location for profiteering, I guess. This part of town really sucks, TBQF. read more

cute place. It's small, but has a nice deli counter. Chicken empanadas, beef empanadas, potato samosas, curried chicken salad and even corn dogs. yum! Plus they carry Boar's head meat and make cold and panini sandwiches to order there. Samosas were $1.99 each and empanadas are 4.99 each. But the samosas are big. Two of them can make a pretty satisfying lunch, I suppose three if you're really hungry! read more

This deli has a fine selection of meats, cheeses, and wines, but their empanadas and tamales are to die for. The empanadas are the real deal: spiced beef and sauteed onions with raisins and a chunk of hard boiled egg, all wrapped in a flaky golden-brown pastry. And those tamales are just as good as the ones Mrs. Rodriguez made for us at Christmas when I was growing up in Texas. As I write this, I'm a little bummed that it's 1am and they aren't open. read more

However for $7.65 i would hope for a bit more, than again it was a pretty classy bite ;) Doesn't look very modern, but I'm guessing that's do to it being a mom and pop corner store. The local go to store for beer, wine, cigs, drinks, snacks and deli sandwiches. Its a really clean, nice shop and some items are overpriced, but that is to be expected for this type of convenience store. read more

I happen to find myself in a situation quite often where I have forgotten some important item (usually more wine) and need to get it quickly and without driving (usually because I've already had the rest of my wine). Madrona Market has taught me to think ahead. The prices for the wine are so outrageous that you can go sit at any of the (not so cheap) restaurants in Madrona on 34th and order drink after drink without matching them. I've also had the opportunity to go after some of their coffee last minute - and regretted that as well. I understand it's convenient and in a neighborhood surrounded by more expensive homes and merchants but I am just shocked sometimes at what they're charging for random crap. I will say though what most other reviewers have mentioned here - the deli is good. Oddly good... especially considering I think that some items (like those corn dogs) have been under the glass for decades. Stick with the Boars Head and you'll be alright. Not sure if those prices are mandated or what, but they're oddly lower (think: QFC deli counter prices) than the rest of the store would have me thinking. read more

I teach at a nearby grade school, and one of my students told me that when her and her brother went in there this morning, the man working there told her "only one black kid allowed in at a time". Even though you did not buy a single thing nor did ever walk out with anything. my point don't spend your money here go some where like grocery outlet better place and not a rip off like this place. dude is over priced, charges .50 cents or more for using a debt card and etc. so my advice is don't waste your money here and take it some where else. read more

I love this deli. Excellent selection of wine and beer, good amount of snacks, yummy bread very reasonably priced. They have some fabulous deli items too; really great sandwiches, and I love their samosas ($1.70 each, but they're big), corn dogs and empanadas. They do charge for credit card usage, so bring cash! read more

Most of the staff is very nice, but it's over priced, has some expired or very close to expired items and charges .50 on top if you don't have cash and spend less than $15. I feel like a chump whenever I leave, so I won't be shopping there anymore. read more
