Mango salad w chicken Medium spicy is low spicy to me, definitely taste the fish sauce, chicken little bit on tough side but good. mango is great, in season now, sliced tomatoes a nice kick. 8/10 Steamed dumpling- actually shu Mai, good by itself but really good with the dipping sauce, 8 or 9/10 Fish dish- was imagining a whole fish but maybe that's not popular in the 'Burgh, so it's fish pieces. Everything cooked well, green beans onions peppers. Didn't get much basil flavor at first, but hit me later. Little too salty, 7/10 Green curry with chicken, mild. Very nice flavor. Super good over the white rice. 9/10 We've been to Thailand and have been to multiple Thai places in the SF Bay Area and this place ranks up there with the best and original Thai flavors. Second visit after way too long. This is a tiny four table restaurant where you dine amongst the potted plants as takeout orders are continuously being picked up by their dedicated clientele. This place is a hidden gem in Blawnox. The service is amazing. Even if I'm showing up just to pick up takeout, I'm greeted by the friendliest smile. I wish I took pics of my food to post but the truth is I immediately devour whatever I order. My comfort meal is the pineapple chicken curry. The inside seating area is small, but cozy. Second time here. Probably the nicest person in the service industry working here! Came for the panang curry and pivoted to the chalkboard special of roasted duck curry. Blend of red and pineapple curry, the duck was cooked to perfection. While 10/10 heat still isn't super spicy to me, it honestly didn't need it given the depth of flavor. read more

Our go to Thai restaraunt when we want a quick good carryout. Their avocado fresh rolls are good but not as flavorful as some others. The steamed cumplings have a nice snap of ginger.The mango curry has both sweet and spicy notes and is quite good. There is small basic area where you can eat at the restaraunt. Fantastic find. I hadn't heard of this place, but stumbled on it while I was checking out another restaurant in the area. My understanding is that the owner has worked at basically every great Thai restaurant in Pittsburgh, and the food really stood up to that background. The fresh rolls were crisp and delicious with a touch of avocado serving as an interesting twist on the traditional take. The green papaya salad was nicely presented, with lettuce off to the side in a way that it survived the ride home. The various stir fry dishes were all delicious, with a spicy level 7 being exactly the right level for my own preferences. The tom yum soup was good, with plenty of vegetables, but wasn't exactly the best I've had. One thing I particularly appreciated was that every dish was very vegetable and flavor forward, without an overwhelming quantity of fried tofu or other filler. The ordering and pickup experience was also great. We ordered takeout, and our food was ready almost exactly when it was expected to be. Everything was nicely packaged and was still in great shape by the time we got home. Very quaint and friendly. The aromas from the kitchen are amazing! While we were eating in the restaurant, we saw at least 10 different parties arriving to pick up their takeout orders. This is always a great sign! Their pork dumplings, chive dumplings, and avocado rolls were delicious as appetizers - sauces complemented each appetizer well. Our main dishes - Pad See Ew, Thai Street Noodles, and crab fried rice were all delicious and perfectly seasoned - they take great care in making sure the spice level is what the diners want, which is wonderful. Really great Thai food! Four of us went and sat in the very tiny eat-in area. They have 8 two-tops setup inside. It looks like they do a huge take-out business. Two in our group got panang curry, another got crab fried rice and I got the Spicy basil stir fry with chicken. The vegetables in the curry and stir fry were plentiful and crisp. Sauces were seasoned well. Be careful with the spice level requests. The scale is 1 to 10. I picked a 5 and I wouldn't have wanted to go much higher than that. It was spicy! I always feel a little skeptical heading into places that people rave about but let me tell you - the hype is legit with this place. The dining area is rather small but filled with plants and has a nice cozy vibe. We tried the crispy chicken strips, tom kha soup, spring rolls, and pad see ew. Bell was absolutely delightful and took great care of us, making sure we had everything we needed and were happy with our food. And the food... WOW. Ordered takeout from here last week and will definitely be back! The prices are relatively inexpensive and I would say the portions are decent. Definitely recommend the Kao Soy egg noodle dish, it was super creamy with the coconut milk, and the pickled veggies and onions were a nice touch! Also enjoyed the pad see yew. We had a great first experience at this small Thai restaurant, which is primarily a takeout spot. However, they do have four small tables for two. Service is very friendly and efficient. they have a large menu, and everything sounded good, but we settled on Tom Yum soup with chicken, my husband got spicy eggplant with chicken, and I got a green curry with shrimp, and we split the crispy tofu appetizer. My husband enjoyed the soup except the chicken that was in the soup was slightly overcooked. The eggplant with chicken was delicious and it was a huge portion. The dishes come with a side bowl of white rice. My curry with shrimp was quite flavorful and had a lot of different vegetables in it, including some eggplant in there as well. I love Japanese eggplant. We both really enjoyed the crispy tofu and it comes with kind of a sweet Thai chili sauce with peanuts on top, which was quite tasty for dipping. I ended up taking half of my Curry home and it filled the entire takeout container. They did tons of takeout business while we were seated eating inside. I would recommend that if you were planning to eat there and had more than two people that you call ahead and make sure that they can accommodate you given how small the places and the limited tables. we found easy street parking right out front. we chose this restaurant due to proximity to Moondog's just down the block where we were going to hear music. Always a high quality meal. I wouldn't say the menu will blow your socks off with its originality, but some of our favorites are pork satay, pad see ew, basil chicken. Flavor profile is great. And the spice levels are always just what we ask for. Personal preference - we usually opt for takeout. This is my first time trying this place. It won't be my last! If I'm trying a new Thai restaurant, I order the pad Thai. I got the chicken pad Thai with a spice level of 6. I'll probably get a 4 next time, (personal preference), but it was still delicious with a bit of a kick. The chicken was a little bit dry, but the flavor was perfect! Cute little place on the main drag in Blawnox. We live out in the New Ken area, so finding good Asian food is always a trek. They have really good Tom Yum (not true of all Thai places) and the curries were great. It's a tiny take-out-only place, so don't expect to dine here. It's a nice hole in the wall place. I'd recommend if you were in Blawnox, but other than that, it's pretty forgettable. I ordered the Pad Thai with tofu, fried tofu bites, spring rolls, and a Thai iced tea. The food is a bit more expensive than competitors such as Smiling Banana Leaf. I thought the Thai iced tea was excellent. Good size and lots of flavor. It's not just all sweetness; you can truly taste the tea blend. When it comes to the main dish, the Pad Thai, I was a bit disappointed. The portion is excellent. I was surprised by how heavy the dish was when I picked it up. To add to that, the tofu soaked up the sauce very well and was overall quite tasty. However, the flavor of the noodles was unexpected. It had too many scallions which lead to an unpleasant oniony flavor to the noodles. The dish was also on the oily side. I enjoyed the spring rolls. Portion is okay and the sauce is standard, maybe a bit on the spicier side. They are packed with vegetables. Personally, I would not recommend the fried tofu appetizer. The tofu on its own is extremely bland; tastes like you are eating rubber. Even when you try smothering it in the tasty peanut sauce, it's still not very good. Overall, I don't think I'll return here, for there are many genuinely great Thai restaurants in Pittsburgh. Some elements, like the Thai Iced tea and spring rolls, were quite good. It takes me 45 minutes to get here. I barely make it in before closing time. I have tried 7 different dishes in 2 visits. Bottom line verdict up front: best Thai in town hands down. Crab rangoons: golden crunch outside, a hardier crab cream cheese inside. Papaya Salad: fresh, crisp and refreshing however I wish they would shred it more finely. Careful on spice as this one is more susceptible to spice levels! Fried Tilapia - this is normally topped with their house special curry type sauce but I prefer it on the side to prevent sogginess. Dip when necessary. Very good sauce and decent fish portions. Drunken noodles with Beef! Hot steaming plate made to order! Flat Rice noodles are soft, chewy and silky in your mouth. Thai Tea - finally a place that puts less emphasis on type II diabetes sweet! Just enough sweet and smoothness here. Crab Fried Rice. Nice portions of crab and actually moist and delicious. Our server was very helpful and attentive. We appreciated the excellent service. It's a small dining room, but rather cute. Everything was deliciously prepared, and our final bill was especially reasonable. We enjoyed meeting the owner/chef, and we have been back several times. They are continually adding new dishes. They recently added Monday dining, which works great, because other places are usually closed. But last Monday, they served the absolute best Mango and Sticky Rice that I have ever tasted. This is too die for food. We had the mango curry with chicken, the pumpkin curry with shrimp, and wings for appetizers. The flavors of these dishes makes my mouth water just to describe them. We were so excited when we had leftovers and let me tell you, it still hits the spot reheated. 10/10 Normally I don't try the Thai iced tea because they're so sweet, but after coming from playing tennis, it just called to me.
