The food was a bit expensive for what you get - especially compared to similar restaurants in the area. It was all very good except for the duck, which wasn't even close to warm. The spicy level was a little lower than we expected compared to other places, but that could have just been the cook we had that day. We got lucky with parking, but there's a lot nearby, so it's not really an issue if you don't find parking on the street easily. Service was decent, tho nothing special. I like what they did with the decor. Has someone not mentioned what restaurant it has been before, I wouldn't have even realized it. They did a great job remodeling and have some beautiful artwork on the walls. I love the way the booths are separated from each other, too. My server was so attentive and adorable. Soups were fantastic. I was underwhelmed by my koa soy tho. Usually it's my favorite curry, but this felt heavy on tomato and light on curry. Giving 5 stars because we loved coming there and seeing Mike and we don't want to hurt the rating. But please bring Mike back it isn't the same without him. He wasn't there the last few times we ate there and you can notice the difference in service and just the overall atmosphere when he isn't there. Even the music is bad without him. We went to this place on a Friday night. We showed up at the time of our reservation and were greeted and seated immediately. We chose to seat in the patio which was nice cozy and well decorated. A friend suggested this restaurant for a group gathering. I'm allergic to seafood so I was immediately nervous about it. Fortunately for me and for my EpiPen, the server and kitchen were very easy to work with in helping me find items I could eat. We were greeted and seated immediately. The server was prompt and attentive. I'd actually give it 5 stars except for two things: 1. They didn't split the bill for 7 of us and that rule wasn't stated anywhere. 2. They close for an hour between their lunch and dinner but they didn't tell us upon sitting or at any point during our meal. Instead, they turned off the music and stared at us until one of us thought to check online about the hours. I likely won't return because I'm still nervous about cross contamination in a place like this seafood-heavy restaurant but it was a pretty good experience. read more

Seems like they take a lot of reservations, because we did not have any and we may have been the only ones without. They were able to accommodate my husband's shellfish allergy. Per a friend's recommendation, my husband and I had dinner at the Dancing Crab on a weekday evening. The restaurant was warm and inviting. We were seated immediately in a booth. This appears to be a family run business, as our order was taken by the owner. The service was attentive, easy going and really funny!!! Nice guy! We had jasmine tea while waiting for our crab rangoons. I got the shrimp fried rice level 5, the spice was tasty with a little heat on the back end. My husband got the panang shrimp level 7, the spice was robust and lasting, with sweetness to balance the flavor. The portions are generous and I took half my dinner home. Really great Thai food! I finally stopped here for takeout the other night and was not disappointed. The inside of the restaurant is small, but has a really cool look to it. Plenty of spots at bars and other tables/booths. For my food I had the tofu pad thai, spice level 7. It was exactly what I was looking for. The tofu was cooked perfectly. The sauce they used was amazing. And the spice level was great. It was definitely spicy, but not so bad that it overpowered the great flavors of everything else. Will definitely stop back! read more

Overall okay but better thai places in the area. Called for pickup, quick to order and ready fast. Order was correct and hot on arrival. The pad see ew was just meh. The noodles seemed overcooked and not a ton of flavor aside from the spice level 3. I also got chicken included in the price (14.99). Beef or pork was $2 more for some odd reason. I can see seafood but not other inexpensive meats. Crab rangoons had a weird taste. There was something off about the filing. My husband got the spicy basil fried rice and paid extra for beef. I did not think those were gulf scrimp. The description of the plate was minimal as were the scrimp and scallops. I didn't know it did not come with a noodle but a side of plain white rice. The dish was a soup, which was a surprise. The vegetables were too big and had to be held and nibbled on while using chopsticks. I would not get again. The service was very attentive. First timers and will definitely be back! There is street (meter) parking but if you go up the street further there is a paid lot. Owner said we were in for a treat ... and he was so right! There was little talking and a whole lotta eating going on. We go take out tonight - it was ready when promised which is always a great start. Tonight we tried a bunch of stuff; drunken noodles - drunken lo mein- pad Thai - pineapple fried rice and eggplant with chicken -- everything was so good!!! Stopped in here when we were in the area and my 8 year old was craving Thai. I was so impressed with the ambience when we walked in - feels very welcoming and a little fancy! We ordered pot stickers and pad see ew. The food came out quickly. These potstickers and the sauce were some of the best I have ever had! The pad see ew portion was large and I especially appreciated that there was a generous amount of chicken included. The noodles were thicker and more substantial than any I have had before - had more of a homemade feel. The sauce had more of a fishy taste than what I was expecting, so something to be aware of if you're sensitive to that. Our server was so friendly and lovely. Its new and unfortunately, seems understaffed. The staff there were very nice but were literally running through the walk way back and forth from kitchen to tables. The tables were maybe 1/2 full. The appetizers were amazing. The tea was also very good. The wait was LONG between each thing. The first curry was not what I ordered. It had nuts and chicken. I had ordered the pumpkin curry with tofu. They did correct it but it was again, a long wait. The curry in the second picture was significantly less than the first as well. Unfortunately my friend had the same issue as they had to correct her first dish as well. The second dish was SIGNIFICANTLY smaller and was cold. The whole process was about 2 hours. I think I'd try a different location, but I don't plan to go back to this one. Most people were kind of sitting and staring at one another quietly and A couple walked out angrily. The food and drinks are delicious, but a little pricey (that doesn't stop me if all else is great). The service was right on time. The surroundings are visually appealing. However, if you are seated too close to the bar area, you might find the music and people at and working behind the bar are so loud you can't have a conversation at your own table. I'm terrible at taking pictures of my food! My partner and I decided to finally try this place out. It was very good Thai (for Pittsburgh). The portions were slightly small, but flavorful. Everything coming out looked amazing! I got a level 10 spicy Tom yum. I thought it wasn't very spicy for that level but still flavorful and delicious! So maybe my only issue is that the spice doesn't match? I still gave a good review because the service was excellent. Everything came out fresh, fast, and delicious. Dancing Crab just opened a second location in dormont! It's really nice inside, but kind of small, so be sure to call and make a reservation! The restrooms are down a flight of stairs, so hopefully that is not an issue for you. The service was slow, but they were very busy and understaffed. The bartender was acting as the host. The food was all very good. We got the pot stickers and dancing shrimp appetizer. Both delicious. My husband got the spicy basil fried rice with seafood, and boy was it spicy!! On March 5th, I finally got a chance to take off work early to check out the new 2nd location. I recall that the original location I really liked and the owner was super friendly. I highly anticipated having a fab dinner! Much to my dismay, the experience I had was an extreme disappointment. Details: The appetizer order was the fried Calamari. Small, small portion. Worse, first bites were full of nasty freezer burn taste. Alerted the server and she said nothing, shrugged her shoulders and took it away. I tried to wash it down with a glass of water but they never brought any waters out! Sizzling seafood platter. It looked really expensive but maybe, just maybe it would be worth it? Wishful thinking as the same theme, portion size not enough for one, more than half tasted rubbery. When we asked where the rest of the food was the server had the really pissy mood and told us she had to call the owner. I do give them credit here, finally they came back out with a little more and it was slightly better tasting. Pad Thai w shrimp. The sauce used is juat soy sauce, extremely salty and shrimps overcooked. Again, small portion size. I am not sure what happened here compared to their other location but I left with a sour taste in my mouth and upset stomach the rest of the night. Final note, server still did not seem to care about our experience an we too did not feel so welcomed. read more
