I've never been to the restaurant for a regular meal, but Maggiano's is our family's go-to venue for big celebrations. This location has several private spaces, with modular walls that can convert to accommodate parties of all sizes. We've attended functions of all kinds here, and each time, we left feeling completely full and sated. For a chain, Maggiano's punches well above its weight class with its mix of ambiance, service, and generous portions of dependable pasta-centric dishes. The food is surprisingly decent for something that's cooked and served in such volume. My favorite entree from my most recent visit was the chicken parmesan. I don't know how they achieved it, but the cutlets somehow stayed crispy under the load of hot red sauce and melty cheese. The service is fantastic. Every time we've rented out a space, the staff were readily available and attendant to our evolving needs throughout the event. The all-you-can-eat part of the catered events is a major plus. When our table raved over the fried calamari and quickly bulldozed our shared platter, we only needed to ask for a refill. Minutes later, our server came by with a plateful of freshly fried calamari. What a dream.

This used to be my favorite place to come and eat with my fiancé, but sadly it has gone downhill. They claimed to revamp the menu, but honestly, they took off all the things I loved! We tried the Wagyu meatballs, Ceasar salad the four cheese cheese ravioli and the chicken parm with ziti. The salsa tasted like fish juice and Well unfortunately I threw up my ravioli shortly after and my fiancée also had an upset stomach we won't be returning

I thought this was fine Italian cuisines but based on the flavors it was not fine Italian. The complementary bread and olive oil was not up to standard for an Italian restaurant. The olive oil doesn't taste and look like olive oil. Maybe they replaced it with another oil. The bread was nice, soft and warm. We got the appetizer calamari's it was lacking salt. Texture was good. The pomegranate cocktail. They gave me the entire cocktail shaker so that had 3 cocktails. Worth the money. Flavor not the best. 3/5. It had a bit medicine taste. It might be the syrup they used. The highlight of the day was the pasta dishes. Still missing some salt but it was delicious. The second highlight was the dessert tiramisu . I would definitely get this again Customer service / waiter 5/5.

I reserved one table for 2 for an 8 pm dinner on open table and was asked to wait. I immediately spoke with the Manager who was amazing he ensured we were seated immediately and taken care of immediately. Our waiter Raphael was also amazing. The immediate response of the manager and the attentiveness of the waiter made the experience memorable. The Manager regularly checked in and at the end of dinner gave me and my guest a VIP card for free dessert and priority seating at our next visit. The environment was warm and family oriented and my food was amazing! We were gifted the calamari appetizer by the waiter. I would return because the food and service was remarkable.

    - Extremely spacious: a full bar area at the entrance and a large open dining room with plenty of booths and tables--comfortable for couples, families, and larger groups alike - Impeccable service: staff were friendly, attentive, and consistently professional, checking in often without ever feeling intrusive - Varied atmosphere: loud and bustling near the bar on Thanksgiving Eve, yet the dining room stayed calm and pleasantly hushed; the noise didn't carry over, making for a relaxed and comfortable dining experience - Enjoyable food with huge portions: fresh Calamari with a light, crispy batter and tender squid, served with a tangy marinara; Linguine di Mare piled high with mussels, shrimp, clams, and lobster meat over perfectly cooked pasta (though the sauce could use more flavor and wasn't spicy at all); a massive Eggplant Parm with spaghetti in marinara--breading was light and crispy, though the eggplant itself needed more seasoning; complimentary bread rolls were excellent--warm, soft, slightly sweet, and perfect with the whipped butter; the kids' Spaghetti with Meat Sauce was a generous portion but could use more meat; for dessert, the Apple Crostada was warm and comforting, though it could've used a larger scoop of ice cream to match the portion size of the tart - Portions vs price: prices may seem a bit high at first glance, but the huge portions meant we had plenty of leftovers--enough for a very filling lunch the next day

I had visited Maggiano's late February for my birthday. We were seated in a cozy both in the bar area. We had visited another location before and really liked the family style menu option. So it worked out for my family for dinner. Jermaine was our server and was the absolute best that evening! We ordered some drinks I got a mule and my fiance got a smoked old fashioned. They won us over with the presentation of the old fashioned. It came out in this enclosed box with the smoke. My fiance enjoyed it. So the family meal consists of salad, 2 choices of appetizers, 4 choices of entrees and dessert. Started with the bread and then shortly after 2 salads and appetizers of calamari and wagyu meatballs came out. Our table was so full of food already as we were 5 guests, they brought 2 plates of everything to share. It was definitely enough food for us 5 and then some. Everything was delicious! We were getting stuffed. Jermaine offered us containers as the entrees were about to come out. We packed whatever was left and they cleared the table. The entrees were brought out and OMG it was quite the spread. 2 giant bowls of pasta in vodka sauce and fettuccine Alfredo with chicken. And 1 platter of baked salmon and another of steak medallions. Everything was so good! Both pastas were good but I loved the vodka rigatoni. It looked like we barely made a dent but we were stuffed. The desserts came out next and was served strawberry cheesecake, chocolate cake, and tiramisu. I had little of everything and they all were amazing. It was a great dinner and went home with plenty of leftovers! Loved having this family style option as it was definitely enough for us all. Jermaine was great through our entire visit! We will be back again!

i've been here many times. i've recently started a fasting diet but after five days, with minimal solid food and a long night of work ahead, I came here to get nutritious salvation. Sure i'll add some temporary pounds for a day or two but what other high end eatery can you overshare with the waiter you're dealing with a runny tummy? i'll be right as rain and better in a jiff - come here for delectable food, painstakingly prepared in a newly refurbished dining area. Sole consistent drawback: slow service. charming and or is it possible to get like a little carafe of water? I haven't run stomach and saw out thanks.

Pre covid, maggianos was my favorite restaurant. The prices were reasonable, the portions were large, coupons were sent, and the food was delicious! I would dream of the crispy Vesuvio potatoes. Post Covid, the portions shrink every year, the prices increase and the food is salty and overpriced. I wasted $80 on soggy, salty food.

We came here for a murder mystery dinner the night before Valentine's Day. It was something different to do and that's why we decided to come. It is a very big restaurant and they have a few private rooms for events. We were greeted by the hostess who was friendly. We sat at a table with different couples which was a nice way to meet new people. It was family style food and was all very good. Service was great! The murder mystery could have been better. But we had a good time.

Went with the entire family and went home with tons of food. The family style was so much food, you can feed twice the number of people and the best thing, you can take it home. Service is excellent and the place is elegant for a chain. The food was also tasty.

There's something special about stepping into Maggiano's Little Italy at The Shops at Riverside. From the moment you walk in, you're transported to an era of old-school Italian charm--where warm lighting, classic white linen tablecloths, and the timeless melodies of Frank Sinatra and Billie Holiday set the scene for an unforgettable evening. Tonight, we opted for a relaxed bar-side experience, and it did not disappoint! Cindy, our incredible server and bartender, made sure every moment was filled with warmth, laughter, and expertly crafted cocktails. Appetizer Selections:Italian Meatballs - Savory, tender, and bursting with flavor.Stuffed Mushrooms - A perfect blend of creamy, garlicky goodness.Spaghetti Aglio Olio - Simple, yet packed with rich, garlicky depth. Beverage Highlights:Pomegranate Martini - A refreshing balance of Absolut Raspberri, Cointreau, pomegranate, cranberry, and fresh sour, served tableside.Smoked Old Fashioned - A showstopper! Knob Creek Rye, Luxardo Maraschino, and bitters, infused with aromatic smoke for a mesmerizing tableside experience.Classic Cosmo - A timeless favorite with the perfect citrus kick. The Smoked Old Fashioned was not just a drink--it was an experience! Cindy artfully filled the serving vessel with smoke, adding an extra layer of depth to the already bold flavors. A treat for both the eyes and the palate! The nostalgic playlist had us tapping our feet and humming along, making for a night that was both delicious and delightfully memorable. If you're looking for a spot to enjoy hearty Italian flavors, handcrafted cocktails, and a welcoming atmosphere, Maggiano's is a must-visit! The capellini is a blend of primarily angel hair and sweet sausage. Simply add a touch of parmesan cheese and you'll be in heaven. I usually eat cheese filled ravioli with marinara sauce, but the chef put an excellent twist to this dish! The food preparer has given a new meaning to ravioli by altering the filling and the sauce making it tastier. On a slightly constructive note, I enjoyed the tartufo but it's basically a pricey version of a Klondike bar with a cherry in the middle. However, their cakes are out of this world. The tres leches and chocolate mousse has the perfect amount of sugar and consistency. Sweets like these are the reason why there are two "s" in dessert; you'll always crave seconds! From appetizer to dessert, you'll dine like a king in a suburban palace. Be sure to go the full distance with a three course meal! #italianrestaurant #njfoodie #ravioli #calamari

The red sauce and shredded parmesan cheese went well with the main and the side. The chicken parmesan is served with mixed vegetables. Substituting the veggies is not allowed, so I ordered a side of pasta for an upcharge. Although I enjoyed this meal, the minor drawback is the substitution policy. In my personal opinion, I feel that pasta is the ideal side dish for any CP entree. Vegetables should not the side dish unless I'm ordering chicken marsala or chicken francese. Otherwise, I was still satisfied with the food, service and overall ambiance of the restaurant.

So, the comfort that I didn't quite find at my hotel? I found it here -- at an Italian restaurant…read more I wasn't so much in the mood for Italian food as I was for patio/al fresco dining and something delicious to drink. The food was an afterthought (initially). At Aumm Aumm, it (the food) became the main story. My rideshare dropped me off and I thought, 'This will do.' A large patio in the late spring sun was just what I needed. I walked in and said I was a party of one and I wanted to eat outside. Done. Soon, a very chatty and kind waiter was taking good care of me and offering a glass bottle of still water.* As I am wont to do, I ate in waves: appetizer and main course (and, if I have the room/interest, dessert). A drink and a solid. A began my meal with the burrata. Rarely can you go wrong with a ball of cheese but this was a silky, milky sphere of mozzarella, served with oranges, toasted walnuts & topped with truffle honey. Truffle honey. I tried to pair every bite with cheese, citrus, nut, and honey and each time I was successful, my mouth sang. To accompany my chews, my waiter suggested Rancoli Vermentino, a dry white with a crisp finish and enough adjacency to the fruit components of the burrata to make it make sense. Lovely. I forgot that I was in Jersey. For my main, I had a GF version of the pennoni alla genovese napoletana - slow-cooked caramelized onions & diced beef pasta. Simple but incredibly flavorful (which, I've learned, is what Italian food is all about). The plate was large and I could smell it before I saw it (a very good thing). To help bring the dish to life, my waiter suggested a warm red blend (earthy, cherry/berry forward). He was correct on the type of wine but I was a bit disappointed in the price point. Believe me, I know the ins and outs of the restaurant biz, but this glass should have been (at least) a couple of dollars cheaper (knowing what I could get a bottle for). This slight faux pas lessened my rating to a 4. Not the end of the world. Just know what you're paying for before committing. I was pleasantly full so I passed on dessert/coffee. Th NJ sales tax was less than I was used to but the dreaded credit card charge fee made an appearance. I probably spent more money on dinner than I would at present but I don't regret the experience. I slept very well that night. *There was a charge. Know before you go.
