The Pizza was great. However, the eggplant pargm was not good. The eggplant was soggy, and eggy. There was no crust to it and the menu say its fried but it certainly did not taste like it. The portion size for the eggplant was small compare to the prize. The mozzarella and tomato salad tasted fresh. The fountain drink had no refills- which is typically the case for fountain drinks and that too was highly priced. I'm surprised this place didn't get the 5 star it deserves for the excellent pizza! We had the margarita pizza...... I can taste the homemade mozzarella & bread freshness coming through. I came here with my family for a birthday celebration and my family and I truly enjoyed the dining experience here. We were a party of eight people and two children. We ordered 4 Caesar salads and one house salad. We ordered two large pies, one regular pie and a pepperoni pie. We also ordered fried calamari for an appetizer to share as a group, and we also shared a calzone with tomatoes and sausage to share altogether. Everything here was amazing. The service was pretty fast and we came to dine at a great time because there wasn't a lot of people. We typically avoid busy times for dining with children. I have two energetic nephews, which is why we avoid dining out as a family at busy times. I would love to come here again as my parents loved it here. I've been here a few times, once for pickup and once for dine in (and I'm SURE I'll be back many more times in the future). The reason we went for lunch and not for dinner was because we noticed that they only served their personal pies during lunch and what better way to get different pies with different toppings without taking home 20 leftover slices of pizza????? In the times I came for pick up and dine-in, we've had a chance to try the Cheese and Tomato pie with pepperoni (in large and personal pie sizes) and White Pie (Ricotta, Mozzarella, Garlic) with pepperoni. FYI, The restaurant only serves 2 types of pies - Cheese & Tomato and White - with toppings coming in at anywhere from $1-$3 each depending on the size of the pie. Pizza verdict?? SUPERB. DELICIOUS. SO FRESH. Both of their pies were some of the very best pizzas that I have had in a long, long while. If you've been to L&B Spumoni Gardens in Brooklyn, the tomato sauce here on their Cheese and Tomato pie sort of reminded me of the flavors there because it was so tangy. The pepperoni cups were a bit out of sorts on the large Cheese and Tomato pie we had for takeout and it was clear that it was haphazardly just thrown on because they were concentrated in certain areas of the pie. In some areas, there were 2-4 roni cups stacked on top of one another. Minor issue, but the pizza was still, of course, really, REALLY good. Also, if you do takeout here, oddly, and, this is truly the 1st time I ever experienced this, the pizza was served in a paper bag instead of a box. Maybe I haven't been to enough pizzerias nationwide, but I had never, everrrrr had a pizza handed to me in just a bag. Not very practical, but, it's what is inside that counts right? I always order half regular sauce with hot sausage and half white with no toppings. The pizzas are HUGE. The cheese so melty and stretchy; the garlic fragrant; the crust so crispy. While the pizza was fine -- even though they got the order wrong -- the real issue was with the calamari appetizer. Toward the end of eating it, my pregnant wife found a worm tangled up with the squid. Absolutely unacceptable. This raises serious concerns about the restaurant's quality control and food safety standards. If they can't even keep worms out of their seafood, I don't want to imagine what the kitchen looks like. The only New York style pizza I could find on Yelp, came here on a recommendation. They have a super efficient take out, no box, just pizza with 3 plastic stands in a paper box. Got the large cheese pizza, of course. Super delicious. A little different than you'd find on the streets on NY I'd say. Paid a visit to Brooklyn's Brick Oven Pizzeria on a Friday. I had been here before as a child, and I remember not liking it because it wasn't like Pizza Hut. But now that I'm an adult, I actually like their pizza a lot. It was a late dinner, after 9pm, so it wasn't too busy. We were seated quickly and given menus and water. We placed our order for the appetizer combo and a large cheese pizza. Appetizer combo came with chicken fingers, fried mozzarella, and fried ravioli. They were fried and seasoned well. The pizza came shortly after. It looks interesting. The cheese is very white, and a lot of the sauce is visible. It doesn't look like they're using shredded cheese. But the pizza is tasty. The sauce is good, cheese is very creamy, and the dough was actually pretty flavorful. Guess my taste buds have grown up a bit. read more
